Andrea Horwath on X - "#Hamont I was proud to stand with so many people from across our community at City Hall today and send a clear message: hate has no home in Hamilton. We know who we are and what we value - a diverse, welcoming community that stands up for one another. Thank you to the organizers and community organizations who brought people together today and continue the important work of building a city where everyone feels safe, respected and welcome. We stand together. We stand against hate. And we stand for Hamilton."
Jonathan Kay on X - "The mayor of a Canadian city went nuts because a bunch of conservatives had a conference"
Too bad they can't do anything about homelessness or drug addiction, because left wingers love those

Wiretap Media | Facebook - "💥Leaked email shows Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath sourced the discredited Anti-Hate Network to sabotage DomCon 2026 and the Dominion Society of Canada. On August 7, Mayor Andrea Horwath sent Hamilton venue owners a letter urging them to think twice about hosting DomCon 2026. She cited the Dominion Society’s own site — then pointed them to the Canadian Anti-Hate Network as the authoritative source they should “review.” The same CAHN that an Ottawa judge found “did in fact assist Antifa,” a group known for violence and now listed as a terrorist entity. CAHN has since had its funding removed by the Federal government after internal memos flagged partisan investigations, anti-Catholic bias, polarization, and false reporting. Yesterday, Inspector Darren Murphy told us Hamilton Police were not running CAHN’s line. Then he hung up when asked who ordered the venue hunt. The mayor already named the source. The letter is attached. More to come."

Legal warning issued to Hamilton mayor and police over efforts to shut down political conference - "The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms announces that lawyers funded by the Justice Centre have sent a warning letter to the City of Hamilton and Hamilton Police Service after the Mayor and local police used their public offices and influence in a series of efforts to prevent a political conference from taking place in the city. The Dominion Society of Canada plans to hold its DomCon conference in Hamilton on August 29, 2026. The Society describes itself as a non-partisan advocacy group promoting Canadian identity, heritage, nationalism, immigration reform, and “remigration.” Hamilton Mayor Andrea Horwath stated that the City would not rent any City-owned venues to the Dominion Society. She then took the additional step of writing to local businesses to pressure them not to provide a venue for the conference. This is not the first time Mayor Horwath has used her office to restrict a message she opposed. In August 2025, she directed that a billboard reading “Stop medical transitions for minors” be removed from City-leased property after calling the message “transphobic.” The group behind the billboard challenged the decision as a violation of freedom of expression. This time, efforts to prevent the political gathering extended beyond City Hall to Hamilton Police Service. Darren Murphy, Acting Inspector in the Chief’s Office, stated that “Dom Con is not welcome in Hamilton.” Police then issued an extraordinary news release encouraging venues not to rent to the Dominion Society and asking members of the public to report possible venue bookings to police. This move quickly drew criticism and ridicule online, with some Canadians dubbing the phone number a “snitch line” and questioning why police were asking the public to report the location of a political gathering despite police identifying no crime. The warning letter states that the City and Hamilton Police deliberately used government power and influence to stifle political expression because they disagreed with its message. It calls the City’s refusal to rent City-owned venues to the Dominion Society a direct infringement of freedom of expression. The letter warns Hamilton officials that similar government interference recently resulted in a finding of a Charter violation and more than $60,000 in damages. In Harvest Ministries International v. Proulx, the Quebec Superior Court found that Quebec’s former tourism minister violated freedom of expression when she ordered the cancellation of a government venue contract with a Christian organization because she disagreed with views associated with the event. The Court ordered more than $60,000 in compensatory and punitive damages"

Left wingers love to claim that educated people are liberal so that proves left wing ideology is true/good. Given that left wingers in the US are more anti-Semitic than right wingers...

Arday and the Church of England - "is it credible that not one of the seasoned teachers or academics who vetted him in the course of his career failed to see what is now so glaringly obvious—that the emperor was stark naked? I think not. I’d wager a modest fortune that some did see it, but knowing what it would cost them to say so, suppressed the thought and bit their tongues. Why? Lest they be accused of racism, their friends step away, and their careers suffer. There’s a warning in this sorry tale for the leadership of the Church of England. The Church Commissioners, including both archbishops, persist in their support for ‘Project Spire’, the policy of devoting £100 million to paying reparations for the church’s alleged profiting from transatlantic slavery. Reliable sources report that the decision to proceed with the project was made in the febrile wake of the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in May 2020 and the consequent anti-racist, knee-bending panic. Apparently, only one of the Commissioners’ twenty-seven board members voiced an objection to it. Was that because all the others were convinced supporters? I don’t think so. So why didn’t the sceptics speak up? Could it have been because—as I’ve been told—they had reason to fear being branded as racist? My own ‘lived experience’ tells me that’s entirely plausible. Sometime during the covid epidemic—late 2021 or early 2022, I think—I was invited to join in a Zoom call to discuss the Church of England’s responsibility for making slavery-reparations. Of the four people present, three (including me) were white. The fourth was a black clergyman. Most of the meeting was taken up with him and me arguing. I remember pulling my punches, partly because my view of the historical and ethical nonsense of reparations was not as clear and firm as it is now. But mainly because I was aware how bad I would look, if I said what I honestly thought. In the current, emotionally manipulative climate, when claims of racial harassment are so easily made and readily believed, it’s very risky for a white person to speak up candidly to a black person about race and slavery. So, I tied my tongue. Since its public launch in January 2023, the wheels have come off the rationale for Project Spire. Richard Dale, an historian of international banking, has shown that the Commissioners misunderstood the data: the 18th century church fund, the Queen Anne’s Bounty, neither invested in nor profited from slave-trading. I, until recently holder of the Anglican world’s premier university chair in Christian ethics, have pointed out the astonishing failure of the Commissioners to publish any considered ethical justification. And Charles Wide, KC, has exposed their failure of due diligence in launching the project before discovering that it’s beyond their lawful powers to divert money from resourcing the Church of England’s ministry to supporting black-led businesses in the Caribbean and Africa. How have the Commissioners and the project’s officers responded? Mainly by retreating into a bunker and saying as little as possible, hoping no one will notice the fuss and the critics will tire and go away. But also by complaining that forensic questioning is a form of harassment and refusing to answer it. By indirectly threatening critics with litigation. By refusing to name them. And on one (aurally recorded) occasion, by publicly defaming them as deliberately spreading disinformation—that is, lying. Recently, Bishop Arun Arora, deputy-chair of the church’s Racial Justice Board and public champion of Project Spire, has gone to the desperate length of invoking in its defence the authority of none less than Alan Lester. ‘Desperate’, because Professor Lester, an historical geographer, is no expert on transatlantic slavery and, in my long experience of him, his rational mouth is more gum than teeth. I am a Christian convert. I’m an active member of the Church of England. I’m even an Anglican priest. I wish the leadership of my church no ill. But they’re stubbornly leading us into our very own Arday Affair, where the nakedness of Project Spire will be exposed for all to see and those responsible for stewarding the church’s assets will be called to public account. I know that the reputational costs of rowing back will be high, but the costs of rowing onward will be much, much higher. Commissioners—and bishops, clergy, and laity—who’ve been harbouring doubts and biting their tongues need to muster the courage, take the risk, and speak up now. Before it’s too late."

Amjad Taha أمجد طه on X - "One day, the children of the West will be old enough to ask: YOU KNEW what Muslim Brotherhood terrorists believed. You heard the warnings. You saw the victims. WHY were you more AFRAID of offending extremists than of protecting us? The West may discover that while it was busy finding excuses for Muslim Brotherhood terrorists, its own children were waiting for someone to find the courage to defend them."

Why so many black Britons still don't swim - "The UK did not have the same system of formal segregation as the US in the 20th Century. But Alice Dearing, a former Olympic swimmer and co-founder of the BSA, thinks that the US's history might have reverberated in parts of British culture too. Some black people have "ingrained within themselves to think that they can't swim", she says."
Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy. Of course, if you don't want black people to see themselves as victims, you're racist

Switzerland: Muslim woman fined for wearing a burqa sees fine increased tenfold after appealing - "A Muslim woman who was fined 100 Swiss francs for wearing a burqa in a public place refused to accept the fine. She appealed the case, claiming that it was an expression of “Islamophobia”. But the outcome was the opposite of what she had hoped for. The court in St. Gallen increased the penalty to 1,000 Swiss francs (approximately NOK 12,500). The judge justified the harsher sentence on the grounds that the woman had shown a lack of respect for Swiss law and had deliberately violated the ban on numerous occasions... the Swiss authorities do not accept religious minorities placing themselves above the country’s laws. Several commentators point out that attempts to play the “Islamophobia card” in such cases often backfire."

Räsänen appeals ‘hate speech’ conviction to the European Court of Human Rights - "The Finnish parliamentarian Päivi Räsänen, who was criminally convicted by Finland’s Supreme Court for “hate speech” on the basis of a church pamphlet on sexuality from 2004 in which she described homosexuality as a psychosexual developmental disorder, appealed the judgment to the European Court of Human Rights... What ADF describes as “a landmark case for freedom of expression across Europe” thus continues a legal battle that Räsänen has fought since 2019, when she attracted the interest of the Finnish prosecution authorities after protesting against the Finnish Church’s participation in Pride, among other things by quoting a passage from the Epistle to the Romans in the Bible condemning homosexuality on Twitter."
Good luck if you charge someone for hate speech for quoting the Quran

Absolutely tragic that he decided to hurt himself rather than follow the law as an adult. Quite tragic. That doesn't mean we need to throw open our borders and forfeit our sovereignty because you want us to be in a hostage situation with people who might hurt themselves if we enforce our laws."

Apartheid lives on in Britain, yet we turn a blind eye - "Nelson Mandela is one of the most celebrated of modern figures... Thank God we don’t live in a world like that any more. Thank God civilised nations — at least in the developed world — don’t carve people up into arbitrary groups, for differential treatment, as the Nazis once did. Thank God morality evolves. Except it isn’t true, is it? Apartheid still exists. It exists in America. Across Europe. It is arguably growing, affecting hundreds of thousands of people who live under its shadow. It is here in the UK, within our towns and cities, right under our noses. We see it. We feel it. And yet we do not name it, or robustly challenge it. Not really. I think this needs to change. This is not just theoretical to me, but personal. To give you a sense of what I mean, I could recount reports of Muslim women suffering under husbands whose dominance is encouraged by religious leaders; who require permission from sharia councils (almost entirely populated by men) to secure religious divorce while their husbands can cancel marriages unilaterally; who suffer on an atrocious scale — police in England and Wales recorded 2,949 honour-based crimes to the year ending March 2025, including 125 forced marriages and 109 female genital mutilation offences. I could tell you about women whose lives are hemmed in by “cultural norms” every bit as restricting as Mandela’s cell: instructed not to learn English, warned never to reveal their faces in public, pressured into marriages they don’t want, often to cousins. I could tell you even more, except that the religious identity of perpetrators and victims of crime are not routinely collected so we don’t fully grasp the scale of the problem. Most go unreported anyway. Every now and again a brave woman steps forward to paint a picture of the misery behind these numbers. Like the woman who spoke to the Southall Black Sisters charity of being punched so hard by her husband that pieces of her teeth broke off but who was blamed rather than supported by the local cleric. Like the woman of Kurdistani heritage who told parliament that marital rape had been encouraged by community arbitrators who regard sexual obedience to husbands as an Islamic duty. Like the woman who revealed that female testimony in many sharia tribunals counts for only half that of males. We don’t call this apartheid. We don’t march against it, at least not at anything like the scale of anti-apartheid marches in the Eighties. We don’t make banners or sing songs. But it is apartheid nonetheless. The Afrikaans word means “apartness” or “separateness”, a painfully apt description of the way too many British Muslim women live today, cut adrift by the patriarchs who control them and a society that celebrates the end of apartheid in South Africa while turning a blind eye to the same thing here. I mentioned a personal interest. This isn’t easy to discuss. My late father — who was born in India, grew up in Pakistan, and came to the UK to study law in the Sixties — was a wonderful man who I miss dearly. But he was raised in the misogynistic rubric of his culture’s version of Islam. Women were expected to obey, not decide; to subordinate their lives rather than to live them. It is perhaps impolitic to get into the details but I might just say that my mum — a white 16-year-old living in London when she met my father, 12 years older — showed infinite patience. Dad had converted to Christianity by then, but his cultural attitudes proved durable. How did the marriage survive? The answer is twofold: my mum saw the innate goodness of my father, and my father showed determination to integrate into the culture of his new home... there is a wonderful prize before us. It is the prize Mandela fought for in South Africa. It is about liberating women and girls from oppressive norms that have sharper teeth than any laws. It is about ending cousin marriage, the prime mechanism that knits these insular communities together and sequestrates them from wider society. It is about having the courage to ban face coverings in public, and thus show that we are proud to live in a western society, not a medieval one. This won’t be easy. It will be opposed by the Islamic patriarchs who control the bloc votes. It will be opposed by their representatives in parliament, the Gaza MPs, and Labour members with large Muslim communities. It will also be opposed by ultraprogressives in our institutions who called apartheid “evil” in South Africa when it was perpetrated by whites but a “cultural practice” in the UK when perpetrated by browns, without noticing the (grotesque) double standards, and who were complicit in the rape gang scandal because they were more concerned about not appearing “racist” than protecting the vulnerable. But perhaps this reveals the deepest truth of all. This is not just a fight for women and girls but for the soul of our nation. Mandela wrote that “to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others”. That cannot stop at the boundaries of culture or community, colour or creed. If freedom is to mean anything, it must belong equally to everyone."

Cameron 🇺🇸 🗽🦅 on X - "what specific tenets of the Democratic Party are extremist to you?"
Noah Smith 🐇🇺🇸🇺🇦🇹🇼 on X - "Good question. At the level of the national party, I'd say 1) categorical opposition to all immigration enforcement, 2) land acknowledgements and other anti-American rhetoric, 3) willingness to countenance explicit racial discrimination in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (and/or the 14th Amendment), and 4) various minor positions on trans issues. In terms of what people vote on, I'd say immigration and racial discrimination are much more important than land acknowledgements or trans issues. In terms of the actual future of the nation, I'd say that the ideology behind land acknowledgments -- which views America as a fundamentally illegitimate settler-colonialist entity whose dissolution is the only true path to historical and global justice -- is far more dangerous and damaging. At the local level, there is some extremism connected to the Palestine movement, which is both deeply antisemitic and deeply anti-American."

It’s been spending the inherited social capital of the last thousand years of Western Civilization without any way to replenish it. That process is now nearing its end. State-funded LGBTQ group hosted church parties ‘sexualising’ Catholicism - "A state-funded LGBTQ group that hosted “unholy nights” at an Australian church has been accused of sexualising and mocking Catholicism by the Archbishop of Sydney. Divine Playhouse turned the deconsecrated, 158-year-old St John the Evangelist Church into an arts space hosting parties that incorporated religious themes. Promotional materials featured crosses and promised confession, hymns, adoration and processions. Some who attended the opening night were dressed as nuns and choirboys, while performers dressed as pigs offered McDonald’s chips as “holy communion”. Anthony Fisher, the Archbishop of Sydney, said the group carried out the “deliberate appropriation and, in our view, sexualisation and denigration of symbols, language and rituals that are sacred to Catholics”. Divine Playhouse received a grant of 100,000 Australian dollars (£53,000) from the New South Wales (NSW) government. The Archbishop called on the NSW government to withdraw the grant... the Archbishop said he recognised the “right to freedom of artistic expression” but said he was “deeply concerned that the government is financially supporting productions that mock, degrade or deliberately provoke the Catholic community”. He added: “The government cannot credibly call for religious tolerance and social cohesion, while quietly funding intolerance and division based on religious belief.” John Graham, the NSW arts minister, said: “I don’t really support people mocking each other, but the idea that the government is going to say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ to who’s performing on stage is not a principle that we accept. “It’s up to companies to determine what they’re performing, and we’ll be continuing that approach.” He added that the money given to support Divine Playhouse could not be withdrawn because it had been spent setting up the original venue, before the promoters were evicted, and funding for MCA would continue."
Imagine if it were the other way around (or if the artists had featured Islam or another "minority" religion). Of course, when you're a state-supported ideology you can pretend to be weak and use that to attack your enemies without fear of reprisal
It's only unacceptable for the state to fund arts projects that threaten the left wing agenda

Thread by @cremieuxrecueil on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "It is truly insane that identity politics it ruining juries. If you want to reliably bring justice down on a woman? Jury of men. Want to reliably bring justice to a Black person? Jury of Whites. This system is becoming so broken we might have to replace it like Singapore did.
And it's not every group contributing to this. In the plot above, you can see that Whites have no average racial bias and Blacks have considerable racial bias. It's a similar situation with women, although worse because men and women are both biased in their favor.
Lee Kuan Yew abolished trial by jury in 1969 because he noticed cases were being decided on the basis of identity: Malays let Malays off the hook. Muslims let Muslims off the hook. Singapore would have no justice with its multiethnic juries, so he moved to bench trials.
This isn't a joyful conclusion. The notion of a trial by a jury of your peers is a nice one. It's just not clear it's feasible when some groups are identity-obsessed. I don't see an obvious way to fix modern American trial by jury."

3. We do see, however, several Muslim rulers forbidding conversion to Islam because too many converts would destroy the tax base. The Islamic governments needed the dhimmis to provide those governments' income.
