Charles Gasparino on X - "Living in Manhattan, I know a lot of old-school NY Dems and not a day goes by that they express how theyre horrified by what is happening to their party. My advice: Look inward. It began with you and people you love and elected like Chuck Schumer, Andrew Cuomo, etc., the so-called moderate party leadership that for years appeased the leftist loons who occupied Zuccotti Park, or unqualified clowns like AOC, or de Blasio. You and your "leaders" never really tried to hold the line against the leftists in the state legislature. And now the lunatics are controlling the proverbial insane asylum. We have increasing fiscal and social chaos. Mamdani's budget is not balanced and will never be. It will require more tax increases. He's never going to stop demonizing Israel, or come to appreciate free markets as Jamie Dimon hopes, because he is who he is. With that, homelessness and urinating on the street has become a right, along with rioting after basketball games. It's not just Mamdani. You have Brad Lander touting Marxism; a comptroller, the so-called fiscal watchdog named Mark Levine who is placating the left and not signaling the disaster that brewing on the city's books. Remember that when you piss and moan about Trump; your lives are being destroyed not by his mean tweets but right here in NY by politicians you empowered. You have become piggy banks for an expanded welfare state and useful idiots to promote cultural Marxism at the private schools you think will help your kids get into Columbia to further their indoctrination. Good job"

I saw how Islamists took over our prisons, before I fought one with a narwhal tusk - "The latest figures highlighting the rise in white Muslim prisoners do not surprise me. Over the 16 years I spent in prison, I watched the situation developing first-hand.  In March 2016, I was leaning against the top-floor balcony of C Wing at HMP Gartree when five prisoners came marching up the stairs. One stopped beside me as a lookout. The other four went directly into the cell of another Muslim prisoner and gave him a sustained beating.  His alleged offence was throwing a Quran in a bin. What struck me most was not simply the violence. Four of the five attackers had converted to Islam while in prison.  Prisoners of course have the same right as anybody else to adopt a faith, and I saw religion provide genuine purpose during my sentence. But when conversion becomes associated with violence, intimidation, protection or criminal power, it is legitimate to ask a more difficult question: what exactly has someone converted to?... I entered the high-security prison system at Frankland in late 2006. Over the following years, I watched Islamist terrorists and extremists arrive in increasing numbers and reshape the prison culture.  In the prison hierarchy I knew, the gangster and armed robber were near the top, the sex offender or child killer near the bottom. A frightened prisoner arriving on a wing quickly learns where influence lies, who sells drugs and who is capable of hurting him.  For some prisoners, conversion could therefore offer something more immediate than spiritual enlightenment: a new identity, belonging and, crucially, protection from one of the most feared networks across the prison estate, the “brotherhood”, as it was informally known. That was particularly powerful for prisoners traditionally at the bottom. In Islamic teaching, conversion marks a new beginning and past sins can be forgiven. Inside prison, that had a practical consequence. A man previously despised for his offence could suddenly find acceptance, protection and a new status, so long as he followed the group’s “rules”. In a world governed by violence and predatory behaviour, that is a powerful draw. Some men were undoubtedly sincere converts. Others converted out of fear or simply for an easier time. Some, I suspect, saw an opportunity to increase their influence or give old violent traits a new justification. Motives can overlap: a man may seek protection and later acquire sincere beliefs; another may adopt religious language while continuing to deal drugs or intimidate others.   Today’s figures therefore need careful interpretation. The disproportionate number of white Muslims in prison does not on its own prove coercion, still less extremism. But official reviews have repeatedly identified aggressive conversion, intimidation and Islamist gang activity, providing official confirmation of the wider pattern I witnessed first-hand. Ian Acheson’s 2016 review warned that Islamist ideology could operate in prisons as a struggle for power and dominance, exploiting weakness in legitimate authority.  Separation centres were subsequently created to remove the most influential extremists from the mainstream estate. Jonathan Hall KC, in his review Terrorism in Prisons, later found that the centres had “never fully taken off” and their use had declined. He warned that simply moving influential prisoners around the estate merely transferred the problem, and urged His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to make more effective use of separation. Separation is essential, of course, but it cannot solve everything. By the time a radicaliser is removed, his influence may already have spread. Ideas travel more easily than prisoners.  Nor does the danger necessarily stop at the prison gate. Sudesh Amman, who stabbed two people in Streatham days after his release in 2020, had retained a radicalised mindset in custody. Hall recorded that he held influence among prisoners at Belmarsh and had been involved in attempts to convert others. Usman Khan’s prison history was more troubling still. He was repeatedly associated with extremist bullying, preaching and attempts to radicalise other prisoners. In November 2019, while I was attending a Learning Together event on day release at Fishmongers’ Hall, he murdered Jack Merritt and Saskia Jones. I confronted him with a narwhal tusk and later helped bring him down on London Bridge before armed police shot him dead. I cannot prove what was happening inside Khan’s mind. But I believe his prison experience reinforced rather than challenged his world-view. A man surrounded by people who share or admire his extremism has little reason to question it.  That is my greatest concern about the rise in conversions. The issue is not how many prisoners become Muslims, but whether overstretched prisons can distinguish sincere faith from coercive recruitment and spot when vulnerable men are being drawn into something darker. Overcrowding, drugs, violence and shortages of experienced officers make that harder. When legitimate authority weakens, informal authority fills the space. In the places where prison authority is weakest, fear, faith and belonging can be exploited by those offering protection, status and certainty."

Asian communities told ‘wash rice less’ in water-saving push - "  Asian and Muslim communities have been told to wash their rice and feet less in a water-saving push.  Ofwat, the water industry regulator, has been criticised for funding “bizarre” guidance targeting ethnic minority households.  It used £270,000 of billpayers’ money for a research initiative that used a celebrity chef to teach Southeast Asians how to cook and wash rice with less water. Muslims were also encouraged to use only a litre of water when performing ritual ablutions known as “wudu” before prayer.  As part of an ongoing water-saving scheme, the project was led by South Staffordshire Water, which worked on developing “water-saving behavioural change campaigns within faith and diverse communities” by targeting “excessive” washing of food by some cultures.

Edward Norton Says He Hates the Romanticization of “The Idea Of Being On The Spectrum.” | Thought Catalog - "“You get all these people who are just basically assholes, wanting to credit that to them being on the spectrum,” he says. “It’s like, you’re not on the spectrum. Shut up, shut up, like, you know, stop it. Don’t casually write off your bad behavior. And also don’t casually try to claim it as a superpower, [when] for a lot of people is a real thing.”  The through-line of his complaint: Silicon Valley romanticized autism into a quirky advantage, and now anyone rude gets to hide behind it while people with profound autism get erased from the conversation...   The video got a boost when it was reposted by @lifewithsevereautism, an account run by Tiffany, whose 14-year-old son Gunner is nonverbal and profoundly autistic. Her caption: “Yes!!!! Thank you!” The framing Norton is pushing back on traces to a 2001 Wired piece by Steve Silberman called “The Geek Syndrome,” which linked elevated autism diagnoses in tech-worker families to traits that helped in coding. That article, and later the neurodiversity movement, helped shift autism from stigma toward “different, not less,” and eventually into the “superpower” language now common on TikTok and in corporate hiring decks.   Parents of children with profound autism — the subset with high support needs, co-occurring intellectual disability, and often no speech — have spent years arguing that the palatable version of the spectrum is squeezing them out of funding, research, and public sympathy."

Man who took Hamilton bus on joy ride 'did a great job' driving, left no dings, say police - "A man took a Hamilton city bus on a joy ride Tuesday — with passengers still on board, say police.  At about 9 p.m., a bus driver parked at the downtown MacNab Bus Terminal and left for a short break... A 36-year-old man of no fixed address boarded the bus, sat down in the driver's seat and drove away, up to the Mountain.  The bus was an extra long "articulated" model — meaning it had an accordion-like attachment joining the first vehicle to the second vehicle, said police spokesperson Trevor McKenna in an interview.  The man made several stops along the way, allowing passengers to get on and off at bus stops. At roughly any time, 10 passengers were on the bus, McKenna said.  "There was not a ding on the bus. He did a great job," said McKenna. "It's comical but at the same time it's serious. We're thankful nobody was hurt."... At first, passengers didn't realize the man wasn't a bus driver, McKenna said. But when he started making some wrong turns, they started asking him questions and one gave him directions to return to the scheduled route.  "He even went as far as to deny someone looking to board with an expired bus pass," police said in the news release. Police "strategically" followed the bus, "mindful of the potential risk to public safety," they said.  Officers worked with Hamilton Street Railway, and accessed the bus's GPS, to know where it was going, McKenna said. They kept their sirens off.  "We didn't want to spook him," he said. "We didn't want to make this a tragedy."  When it stopped on West 5th Street, about 15 minutes later, the man was taken into custody without incident.  He was charged with theft over $5,000, possession over $5,000, obstruct police and drive while prohibited. McKenna said they didn't release the man's name because there may be "a mental health component.""

Woman loses thousands of dollars to romance scammer posing as astronaut in distress, police in Japan say - "A Japanese octogenarian was swindled out of thousands of dollars after falling in love online with a self-described astronaut who sought her help to avert a spaceship crisis... the scammer one day told her he was "in space on a spaceship right now" but was "under attack and in need of oxygen," the official said.  The scammer then urged her to pay him online to help him buy oxygen, and successfully hoodwinked around 1 million yen ($6,700) out of her... More than 64,000 Americans were taken for over $1 billion in romance scams in 2023 — double the $500 million just four years earlier, according to the Federal Trade Commission.  About half of people who are using dating sites say they've come across somebody who's tried to scam them"

Trad West | Facebook - "“Turn the other cheek” does not mean Christians are commanded to become passive in the face of evil. Fr. Chad Ripperger recently addressed a misunderstanding that has become widespread among Christians: “We’re conditioned to actually believe that when Christ said turn the other cheek, that we just let people get away with whatever they want. And that’s not actually the case.” He continued: “We have an obligation to stand up and to protect the glory of Christ Himself” Christ commanded us to forgive our enemies. But forgiveness is not the same thing as pretending evil does not exist, allowing injustice to continue, or refusing to defend what is good. Jesus Himself publicly rebuked hypocrisy and commanded His disciples to correct those who sin. Christian charity sometimes requires this precisely because allowing someone to continue in evil can harm both them and others. St. Thomas Aquinas likewise distinguished between loving and forgiving a person and always granting them the external effects of forgiveness when doing so would encourage further wrongdoing — the distinction Ripperger was discussing. Christian meekness is not cowardice. You can forgive without surrendering truth. You can love your enemy without permitting evil. You can seek peace while still defending the innocent, the Faith and the honor due to Christ. Turn the other cheek does not mean bow before evil."

Michael Shellenberger on X - "Over the last decade, most of us experienced Hillary Clinton’s email server, the Trump-Russia collusion investigation, and Hunter Biden’s laptop as separate, unrelated controversies.  The FBI opened Midyear Exam, its investigation of Clinton’s private server, which held evidence of influence-peddling, in July 2015. One year later, then-Director James Comey closed it with a press conference, calling her “extremely careless” but recommending no charges; he did so without advising the Department of Justice, which was unusual and inappropriate.  Twenty-six days later, on July 31, 2016, the Bureau opened Crossfire Hurricane, a full counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign. Special Counsel John Durham concluded in 2023 that neither the FBI nor the intelligence community “appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.”  Finally, in December 2019, an FBI field office took possession of Hunter Biden’s laptop hard drive, and in October 2020, Twitter and Facebook suppressed the New York Post story about it after FBI warnings of a Russian “hack and leak.”  The news media covered each episode as its own drama with its own unique cast of characters, and framed each incident in such a way so that the very idea that the FBI was abusing its powers lay outside of the Overton window. The media covered the email server as much ado about nothing, at best, and Clinton’s recklessness, at worst. The media framed the Russia story as a case of Trump’s conflicts of interest, at best, and Putin’s direct control of him, at worst. And the laptop story was, at best, about Republican persecution of an innocent man and, at worst, about Hunter Biden’s reckless behavior.  In every case, the media framed FBI officials as, at best, dogged investigators and, at worst, overzealous. Outside of openly pro-Trump right-wing media, few journalists covered the stories as the FBI abusing their powers for partisan reasons.  But it is now clear that a single thread ran through all three investigations, and it was one of partisan FBI agents and officials abusing their power in ways as extreme as J. Edgar Hoover did in the 1960s...."

Dan Burmawi on X - "When an ideology makes the promise of sex with multiple virgins part of your eternal reward, it is inevitable that the sexual ethic produced by that ideology to be distorted, degrading, and abusive.
Here is how Islam describes paradise: The Islamic afterlife is a carnal, male-centered fantasy of unlimited sexual gratification. A single intercourse with one of the virgins of paradise will last seventy thousand years. Islamic texts describe these women as perpetual virgins, untouched, and designed solely for the pleasure of men.
“Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation. And made them virgins, devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age.” (Quran 56:35-37)
“Fair ones reserved in pavilions. Untouched before by any man or jinn.” (Quran 55:72-74)
Hadith collections affirm that after every act of intercourse, these “virgins” miraculously return to a state of virginity so the process can be repeated endlessly.
These heavenly beings are not just virgins, they are physically exaggerated to fulfill male fantasies:
Large, round breasts:“Indeed, for the pious there is a triumph… full-breasted companions of equal age.” (Quran 78:31-33) The Arabic term kawa‘ib in 78:33 literally means “firm, swelling breasts.”
Big, lustrous eyes:“They will have maidens with intensely white skin and large black eyes, as if they were hidden pearls.” (Quran 52:20)
Glowing, hairless, smooth skin:“If one of the women of paradise were to appear to the people of the earth, she would fill the space between heaven and earth with light and fragrance.” (Tirmidhi, 2538)
Muhammad explicitly stated that men in paradise will have endless sexual stamina, never experiencing fatigue. The virgins, in turn, never get tired, never say no, and are always ready for intercourse.
The Prophet was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, do we have sexual intercourse in Paradise?” He replied: “Yes, by the One in Whose Hand is my soul, a man will have sexual intercourse with a hundred virgins in one morning.” (Ibn Majah, 4337) Another hadith states that men will be given the strength of 100 men in sexual performance. (Tirmidhi, 2536)
According to Al-Suyuti, a famous Islamic scholar:
“The believer will be given such and such strength in paradise for intercourse… A single intercourse with one of the virgins of paradise will last seventy thousand years.” (Al-Suyuti, Al-Haba’ik fi Akhbar al-Mala’ik)
These “virgins” don’t need to poop, pee, or sweat, they exist for one purpose: eternal male pleasure.
“They will neither urinate, defecate, nor suffer from phlegm or mucus. Their sweat will be musk.” (Muslim, 2834)
“They will be hairless except for their eyebrows and eyelashes.” (Tirmidhi, 2536)
A believer doesn’t get just one virgin, he gets dozens, or even hundreds.
“A martyr will have 72 virgins.” (Tirmidhi, 1663)
“The lowest rank of a person in paradise will have 80,000 servants and 72 wives.” (Ibn Majah, 4337)
While men are promised an endless supply of sex slaves, the fate of women in Islam’s paradise is nonexistent or humiliating. Women in Islamic eschatology exist only for men’s pleasure, nothing else. While other religions speak of enlightenment, unity with God, or transcendent joy, Islam offers a pornographic fantasy land where men indulge in endless sex, alcohol, and servitude. What kind of God rewards faithfulness with an eternal orgy? What kind of religion reduces the afterlife to a hypersexualized playground? This is not spiritual. This is not divine. This is the theology of a man who designed an afterlife to justify his own sexual obsessions. And yet, Muslims claim Islam is the most moral and pure religion. Islam’s paradise is nothing more than a cosmic brothel."
Islam is the most feminist religion indeed

My racehorse isn’t named after Hitler, insists US owner - "An American racehorse owner has insisted that his two-year-old colt is not named after Adolf Hitler.  Scott Herbertson, an owner and breeder, named his horse Austrian Painter, which he said was a tribute to Gustav Klimt, his wife’s favourite artist.  Yet the name is also a codeword for the Nazi führer – in reference to his failed career as an artist in Vienna – that is used in the murkier corners of the internet to bypass content filters.  Mr Herbertson, a 58-year-old Californian who now lives in Texas, had submitted some alternative names for the horse, including My Struggle and Braunau Star, Horse Racing Nation reported.  Hitler’s autobiography was called Mein Kampf, which translates to My Struggle, and he was born in Braunau, Austria. But Mr Herbertson said his wife’s grandfather had been born in Braunau. The Jockey Club in the US said that the name Austrian Painter broke rules banning offensive names, and that the horse would now be called Merrylegs instead... the name of the horse’s sister, which was previously called New Order, be changed as well. That horse currently has no name.  New Order was a term used by the Nazis for their vision of a pan-German racial state built by, and for, an Aryan master race.  Mr Herbertson said it was a reference to his favourite band, New Order.  The Manchester group was formed by the remaining members of Joy Division in 1980 after the death of Ian Curtis, the group’s lead singer. It is best known for hits such as Blue Monday, Temptation, and World In Motion.  New Order, the band, has always denied that its name is a Nazi reference. However, the name Joy Division was a reference to sex slave wings in Nazi concentration camps, which featured in House of Dolls, a novel published in 1955."

German town bans Holocaust memorial stones - "Heidenau, near Dresden, voted to ban any new Stolpersteine, or stumbling stones – memorial plaques set into the pavement to commemorate ordinary victims of the Nazi regime – from being placed.  The plaques, the size of a small cobblestone, are set at locations significant to those being remembered, usually their former residence... the hard-Right Alternative for Germany (AfD) and the centre-Right Christian Democrats (CDU) in Heidenau’s city council claim that it is disrespectful to the dead to have “passers-by walking over or even stepping onto the names of the victims”.  The same argument was previously made by Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Jewish Community of Munich, leading the Bavarian city to ban Stolpersteine on public property, opting instead for memorials at eye level.  Ms Knobloch however rejects Heidenau’s decision, claiming to be appalled that the CDU “would stoop to supporting such a transparent manoeuvre by the extremists of the AfD”."

‘Englishmen better off dead’ graffiti sprayed in Bournemouth - "Anti-English graffiti has appeared in several public places in the seaside town of Bournemouth.  Spray-painted messages written in Spanish and translating to “dead Englishmen” and “s----y English better off dead” were left on the walls of public areas in the Boscombe suburb.  The resort town is a popular destination for Spanish students, with more than 40 language schools in the area.  Bournemouth also has three migrant hotels, including one in Boscombe.  Three months ago, an offensive message reading “s--t Englishmen better off dead” was sprayed onto a wall in the area before being removed by the council... Martin Houlden, the chairman of Reform UK Bournemouth, said: “One incident could perhaps be dismissed as the work of an idiot with a spray can.  “When the same anti-English hatred starts appearing repeatedly across Bournemouth, it becomes rather harder to shrug off.  “If whoever is responsible really finds the English this objectionable, choosing to spend their time living among us seems an unusual lifestyle choice. There are, after all, many other places to be.”  In recent months, anti-Semitic messages and swastikas were spray-painted on the walls of a Bournemouth suburb with a large Jewish population."

The animal rights nuts want to ban your woolly jumper. There’s just one problem - "Winter is on its way. And so, like many other people in this country, especially pensioners, you may be feeling worried about the extortionate cost of your heating bills. Still, not to panic. You can always try to keep warm by putting on a nice woolly jumper, can’t you?  Sorry, but no. I’m afraid you can’t. Because a bunch of animal rights activists have apparently decided that wearing wool is every bit as evil as wearing fur.  If you don’t believe me, look at the protests that have taken place at both New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week – with supporters of Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) storming the catwalks, armed with placards that read “DITCH WOOL” and “WOOL IS BLOODY CRUEL”.  You may be thinking: “But hang on a second. What’s wrong with wool? You don’t have to kill a sheep in order to shear it.” In the eyes of the protesters, however, such an attitude is grossly insensitive, because, as their placards make clear, “SHEEP SUFFER”.  In which case, it would seem that our farmers must face yet another crushing blow. As if it weren’t already hard enough for them to make a living these days, now they’ve got nutters telling them that they shouldn’t be allowed to sell their sheep’s wool.  I don’t suppose there’s much use pointing out that, if it weren’t for farmers, there would be quite a lot fewer sheep in the world – because farmers ensure that their sheep are well fed, help deliver their young and call the vet when they’re sick. Which means that sheep enjoy rather better, safer and longer lives than they would if they were forced to survive in the wild.  But maybe that thought hasn’t occurred to the protesters. Or maybe it has but they think: “Of course we want farmers to keep looking after their sheep. We just don’t want them to make any money from them.” A heartwarming thought. But I fear I can spot a slight flaw in it."
Not to mention sheep need shearing and if you don't, they can die

Cllr Sophie Preston-Hall ECC Rochford North on X - "If history makes us uncomfortable, should we erase it — or should we learn from it? 🤔  I’ve always been a huge fan of Horrible Histories. It brought history to life for children by making it funny, gruesome, ridiculous and, at times, uncomfortable. That was rather the point — history itself can be horrible.  Now, with some Horrible Histories material apparently no longer available or edited on BBC iPlayer, I think there’s a much bigger conversation to be had.  I’ve been obsessed with history since childhood. I spent part of my childhood living with my grandparents at Wolf Hall Manor, the ancestral home of Jane Seymour. You don’t get much more brutal than Henry VIII and the treatment of his wives!  History contains slavery, persecution, war, cruelty and appalling treatment of women and minorities. We absolutely should discuss how those subjects are portrayed, particularly to children. But should uncomfortable history simply disappear?  For me, we learn from history — we don’t erase it.  Put warnings on programmes. Add context. Explain why attitudes have changed. Encourage discussion. But let children learn how different the world once was and, crucially, why we never want to go backwards.  What do you think? Contextualise it, edit it, or remove it altogether?  #HorribleHistories #History #BBC #Education #LearnFromHistory #BritishHistory #Tudors #FreeSpeech #Debate"
