The "Nakba" according to its Author

To know what "the Nakba" was, it is good to read what the person who coined the term said:

"Seven Arab states declare war on Zionism in Palestine, stop impotent before it, and then turn on their heels. The representatives of the Arabs deliver fiery speeches in the highest international forums, warning what the Arab states and peoples will do if this or that decision be enacted. Declarations fall like bombs from the mouths of officials at the meetings of the Arab League, but when action becomes necessary, the fire is still and quiet, the steel and iron are rusted and twisted, quick to bend and disintegrate. The bombs are hollow and empty. They cause no damage and kill no one.

Seven states seek the abolition of partition and the subduing of Zionism, but they leave the battle having lost a not inconsiderable portion of the soil of Palestine, even of the part "given" to the Arabs in the partition. They are forced to accept a truce in which there is neither advantage nor gain for them...

In short, the Zionist home in Palestine is today closer to realization than ever before. On the other side, the very being of the Arabs has never before known such fragmentation and collapse as in this battle.

In addition to the material collapse is the collapse of values which is shown [in various ways. It is shown] by the doubt of the Arabs in their governments and by their accusations of their leaders and rulers, even by the doubt of many of them in themselves and in their potentiality as a nation. [It is also shown] by the despair in their breasts, by their refusal to meet the danger, and by their shrinking before the magnitude of the blow. Indeed, this moral and spiritual relapse is more important than the material loss, no matter how great the latter might be; for if the resolu- tion of a people crumbles and its confidence in itself is lost, it loses the best that it possesses and is impotent to rise after a fall or to shake from itself the dust of humiliation and defeat.

These are some aspects of the disaster which has overtaken the Arabs in this battle of the Palestine war. These and others, which are on the tips of all tongues, which throb in all hearts, and which every one of us sees and hears [cited] in these critical days, are sufficient to indicate the seriousness of the trial and the intensity of the tragedy...

When the battle broke out, our internal propaganda began to tell us about imaginary victories and to benumb the Arab peoples with the easiness of our military struggle and our ability to overcome and conquer -- until the disaster struck, accompanied by a bitter reaction...

When we view this disaster and appraise its extent and its results, it is also right and fair for us to know that it is only one battle in a long war. If we have lost this battle, that does not mean that we have lost the whole war or that we have been finally routed with no possibility of a later revival...

By advocating that we take far-reaching action and that we view the war in its entirety instead of confining ourselves to the present battle, I do not mean that we should merely await the course of events and depend on favorable circumstances...

I hope that, in the above discussion, I have hit on the truth in describing our present disaster in Palestine and that I have made clear its seriousness and gravity, and the intensity with which it now afflicts us and will afflict us in the future. I also hope that I have pictured the disaster as it really is and that I have outlined the course which we must take in relation to it and the viewpoint from which we must look at it, for this is the necessary first step in analyzing a problem and studying the ways of solving it...

However, whether we are able to strike this crushing blow successfully and establish a united, democratic state in Palestine or whether we prove impotent and have partition imposed on us by the Zionists and the rest of the world, the struggle must go on...

The present struggle, which we have described and whose principles and conditions we have drawn up, is necessary for the battle we are now waging. However, the war waged to uproot Zionism and to conquer it completely will not be finished in a single battle. On the contrary it will require a long and protracted war. To put it briefly -- and in all frankness and sincerity -- this war will not lead to the victory of the Arabs as long as they remain in their present condition. The most that they will be able to accomplish under the circumstances is to guard against the immediate Zionist evil and to protect as much of the Arab being as possible. The road to final and complete victory over this evil is different. The road to this victory lies in a fundamental change in the situation of the Arabs, and in a complete transformation of their modes of thought, action, and life."

This bit contains the citation about Palestine being considered a Islamic waqf (which again appears in the 1988 Hamas Charter) which can never be given to non-Muslims (which explains the Israeli-Palestinian conflict).

A Salient Example of Hajj Amin el-Husseini’s Canonical Islamic Jew-Hatred—Introduction, Text, and Commentary (6/X)

"The missionary Gregory Wortabet‘s mid-19th century account from Jerusalem (published in 1856) confirms Lane‘s reference about the apparent commonality of Muslims equating their domesticated asses (donkeys) with Jews, accompanied by "opprobrious epithets"—and often abuse—of either, or both. Wortabet cites another Jew-hating motif from canonical Islam‘s repertoire, the alleged poisoning of Muhammad by a Khaybar Jewess, as a possible rationale for such chronic Muslim attitudes toward Jews. His anecdote also documents the pejorative reference to Jews as "hogs" (pigs), in accord with Koran 5:60.

The Jew is still an object of scorn, and nowhere is the name of "Yahoodi (Jew)" more looked down upon than here in the city of his fathers. One day, as I was passing the Damascus gate, I saw an Arab hurrying on his donkey amid imprecations such as the following: "Emshi ya Ibn-el-Yahoodi (Walk, thou son of a Jew)! Yulaan abuk ya Ibn-el- Yahoodi (Cursed be thy father, thou son of a Jew)!" I need not give any more illustrations of the manner in which the man went on. The reader will observe, that the man did not curse the donkey, but the Jew, the father of the donkey. Walking up to him, I said, "Why do you curse the Jew? What harm has he done you?" "El Yahoodi khanzeer (the Jew is a hog)!" answered the man. "How do you make that out?" I said. "Is not the Jew as good as you or I?" "Ogh!" ejaculated the man, his eyes twinkling with fierce rage, and his brow knitting. By this time he was getting out of my hearing. I was pursuing my walk, when he turned round, and said, "El Yahoodi khanzeer! Khanzeer el Yahoodi! (The Jew is a hog! A hog is a Jew!)" Now I must tell the reader, that, in the Mahomedan vocabulary, there is no word lower than a hog, that animal being in their estimation the most defiled of animals; and good Mahomedans are prohibited by the Koran from eating it. The Jew, in their estimation, is the vilest of the human family, and is the object of their pious hatred, perhaps from the recollection that a Jewess of Khaibar first undermined the health of the prophet by infusing poison into his food. [emphasis added] Hence a hog and a Jew are esteemed alike in the eye of a Moslem, both being the lowest of their kind; and now the reader will better understand the meaning of the man‘s words, "El Yahoodi khanzeer!"

Moshe Perlmann, an eminent scholar of Islam‘s Medieval era anti-Jewish polemical literature, made this rueful summary observation in 1964:

The Koran, of course became a mine of anti-Jewish passages. The hadith did not lag behind. Popular preachers used and embellished such material.

The numerous salient examples of Islam‘s canonical Jew-hatred punctuating Hajj Amin el- Husseini‘s 1937 declaration validate Perlmann‘s concise overarching assessment of these foundational Islamic sources, and their tragic application across space and time, into the modern era.

El-Husseini‘s promulgation of jihad and canonical Islamic Jew-hatred in pursuit of the destruction of Palestinian Jewry, and later, the nascent Jewish State of Israel, has reverberated across the ensuing decades. Consider two complementary fatwas, one written January 5, 1956, by then grand mufti of Egypt, Sheikh Hasan Ma‘moun, and another January 9, 1956, signed by the leading members of the Fatwa Committee of Al Azhar University—Sunni Islam‘s Vatican— and the major representatives of all four Sunni Islamic schools of jurisprudence. These rulings elaborated the following key initial point: that all of historical Palestine—modern Jordan, Israel, and the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria, as well as Gaza—having been conquered by jihad, was a permanent possession of the global Muslim umma (community), "fay territory"— booty or spoils—to be governed eternally by Islamic law.

Muslims cannot conclude peace with those Jews who have usurped the territory of Palestine and attacked its people and their property in any manner which allows the Jews to continue as a state in that sacred Muslim territory. [As] Jews have taken a part of Palestine and there established their non-Islamic government and have also evacuated from that part most of its Muslim inhabitants. . . . Jihad . . . to restore the country to its people . . . is the duty of all Muslims, not just those who can undertake it. And since all Islamic countries constitute the abode of every Muslim, the Jihad is imperative for both the Muslims inhabiting the territory attacked, and Muslims everywhere else because even though some sections have not been attacked directly, the attack nevertheless took place on a part of the Muslim territory which is a legitimate residence for any Muslim… Everyone knows that from the early days of Islam to the present day the Jews have been plotting against Islam and Muslims and the Islamic homeland. They do not propose to be content with the attack they made on Palestine and Al Aqsa Mosque, but they plan for the possession of all Islamic territories from the Nile to the Euphrates.

Although free of eschatological references, the January 1956 Al Azhar fatwas‘ language and arguments—pronounced from Sunni Islam‘s most esteemed religious teaching institution—are otherwise indistinguishable from those employed just over three decades later by Hamas (in its 1988 covenant), revealing the same conjoined motivations of jihad, and conspiratorial Islamic Jew-hatred.

Koran 3:112, which affirms the curse of permanent abasement upon the Jews for transgressing Allah‘s will, and killing his prophets, is featured before the pre-amble to Hamas‘ foundational Covenant—it is literally part of the very first statement of the document. Article 7 re-states the canonical apocalyptic hadith of Jew annihilation requisite to ushering in the messianic age, which concluded Hajj Amin el-Husseini‘s 1937 declaration:

...the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to realize the promise of Allah, no matter how long it takes. The Prophet, Allah's prayer and peace be upon him, says: "The hour of judgment shall not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them, so that the Jews hide behind trees and stones, and each tree and stone will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him,‘ except for the Gharqad tree, for it is the tree of the Jews." (Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Number 6985)

Jihad is the other pillar of Hamas‘ foundational ideology featured in the 1988 Covenant. Article 15 (subtitled, "Jihad for the Liberation of Palestine is a Personal Duty") elucidates classical jihadist theory, as well as its practical modern application to the destruction of Israel by jihad:

The day the enemies conquer some part of the Muslim land, jihad becomes a personal duty of every Muslim. In the face of the Jewish occupation of Palestine, it is necessary to raise the banner of jihad. This requires the propagation of Islamic consciousness among the masses, locally [in Palestine], in the Arab world and in the Islamic world. It is necessary to instill the spirit of jihad in the nation, engage the enemies and join the ranks of the jihad fighters. The indoctrination campaign must involve ulama, educators, teachers and information and media experts, as well as all intellectuals, especially the young people and the sheikhs of Islamic movements...It is necessary to establish in the minds of all the Muslim generations that the Palestinian issue is a religious issue, and that it must be dealt with as such…

Recent polling data indicate that these traditionalist Islamic views—espoused across a continuum of 75 years by el-Husseini, Al Azhar University, and Hamas—resonate with the Palestinian Muslim population. American pollster Stanley Greenberg performed what was described as an "intensive, face-to-face survey in Arabic of 1,010 Palestinian adults in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip." As reported in July, 2011 these data revealed that seventy-three percent of Palestinian Muslims agreed with the dictates of the apocalyptic hadith (Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Number 6985; included in both el-Husseini‘s 1937 declaration, and the 1988 Hamas Covenant) calling for the annihilation of the Jews, to bring on the messianic age. Eighty percent supported the destruction of Israel by jihad, and the need to recruit the entire global Muslim community, or "umma" in this quintessential Islamic cause.

Almost four decades ago Bat Ye‘or published a remarkably insightful analysis of contemporary Islamic Jew-hatred, in particular, its annihilationist predilection. She hypothesized that the rise of Jewish nationalism—Zionism—posed a predictable, if completely unacceptable challenge to the Islamic order—jihad-imposed chronic dhimmitude for Jews—of apocalyptic magnitude.

The pejorative characteristics of Jews as they are described in Muslim religious texts are applied to modern Jews. Anti-Judaism and anti-Zionism are equivalent—due to the inferior status of Jews in Islam, and because divine will dooms Jews to wandering and misery, the Jewish state appears to Muslims as an unbearable affront and a sin against Allah. Therefore it must be destroyed by Jihad. Here the Pan-Arab and anti-Western theses that consider Israel as an advanced instrument of the West in the Islamic world, come to reinforce religious anti-Judaism.

Bat Ye‘or‘s 1974 observations have now been confirmed by the first thorough textual analysis of the exclusively Islamic sources utilized in a critically important 1937 pronouncement by Hajj Amin el-Husseini. One can only speculate as to why such an investigation was not conducted decades earlier."

Gazan Maastricht University student faces no criminal investigation over October 7 video - " A Gazan student at Maastricht University who appeared to suggest in a video that he had been involved in the October 7 attack on Israel will not face further criminal investigation. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) and police found no reason to investigate the matter further. After reviewing the video, authorities concluded that no criminal offenses had been committed, including involvement in a terrorist attack, glorification of terrorism, or incitement. Media outlets reported that the student published a video to Instagram on September 26 in which he was watching footage of the attack on TV and saying “this is me” when masked Hamas fighters were on screen. 'Palestinian Rachel Dolezal' outed as white woman of 'significant privilege and wealth' - "A woke anti-Israel teacher and activist who claimed to be part black and Arab has been dubbed the “Palestinian Rachel Dolezal” after she was outed as being a white, Jewish woman who hid her privileged identity as she led antisemitic protests.   Hannah Gann, a Philadelphia teacher, was forced to confess she was a “white woman of significant privilege and wealth” after fellow lefty activists grew suspicious of her background and confronted her... Gann has been a ringleader for anti-Israel protests based in the Philadelphia public schools, according to a local watchdog group, who branded “Philadelphia’s Leading Antisemite” on a mobile billboard parked outside the school where she worked...   “I watched her sudden transformation after she returned to Philly from the Peace Corps [in Rwanda]. She was clearly making herself look darker using makeup and fake tan, and speaking using [African American Vernacular English],” the classmate said.  In one video from December 2025, the activist teacher wears a keffiyeh and has a “blaccent,” which she did not use in per apology post...   The LARPing activist frequently referenced family in Palestine, including a grandfather who was revealed to have been born in Baltimore, the Inquirer reported, citing a document compiled by the Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC).  The PPC said that as “a teacher of predominately black youth, [Gann] has gained the trust of young people on the basis of a sense of shared oppression. She has served as a mentor to at least one young white person, who was manipulated by Hannah on the basis of a fake identity. “Her access to vulnerable young people, especially black youth, is deeply concerning, given her pattern of lying and manipulation,” the PPC added.  She also successfully solicited money by claiming she was broke because of sending cash to her relatives in Palestine, according to the PPC. In reality, much of her family still lives in Israel, according to the Inquirer.  She also grew up in remarkable privelege. Her father is a noted tax lawyer who previously worked for the Treasury Department and her $1.8 million family home is in Falls Church, Virginia — the second wealthiest suburb in the nation.  Gann also appeared to bolster claims about her race with subtle disguises – critics accused her of wearing bronzer and other makeup to appear darker, along with donning golden hoop earrings and clawed acrylic fingernails.   Gann also spoke with what stunned critics called a “blaccent” which was audible across her numerous preachy Instagram videos where she lectured about racism and imperialism, all from her supposedly personal experience.  But those affectations were gone in her apology video – no accents and no black lingo to be heard. Her hoop earrings, however remained.  And a listen back at her old videos after the truth was exposed seemed to make her fraud obvious, as she appeared to weave in and out of her affected accent — sometimes sentence by sentence.   The race-faker was outed after a showdown with members of two local activist groups — the Racial Justice Organizing Committee and Philly Educators for Palestine... Gann, who was listed in materials for a 2024 West Philly “teach-in” on “scholasticide” in Gaza as a Palestinian-American, also stunningly admitted that she even hid her pro-Palestinian activism from her family in order to keep living the lie.   “I hid the truth or outright lied about my background to everyone in my life,” she said, adding that the deception included her own family.  Gann arrogantly confessed she “allowed half-truths and obfuscations to grow into outright lies” because she “genuinely wanted to commit to the work I was doing.”... while Gann’s position was not nearly as prominent as Dolezal’s, it was shocking nevertheless in her West Philadelphia community – where she was such a prominent anti-Israel voice that her activism was documented by multiple antisemitism watchdog groups.  A box truck drove around her neighborhood in 2024 calling her: “Hannah Gann: 10th grade teacher and Philadelphia’s leading antisemite” – and it was paired with a photo of her screaming at a 2023 anti-Israel rally.  That rally was dubbed “pro-Hamas” by another antisemitism awareness group, Canary Mission, which posted footage of Gann helping lead the rally just weeks after Hamas terrorists killed more than 1,200 people in their Oct. 7 attack on Israel.   “I know every martyr’s life is precious,” Gann said the rally, evoking the term Hamas uses to describe its dead killers.  “When a Palestinian child picks of a rock or a slingshot in the face of Israeli tanks or machine guns, we owe them that same energy,” she screamed to a cheering crowd. “We owe them to take it to these streets and f–k the police until Palestine is free.”  That rally was held outside a Jewish bakery.  Other alarming acts included Gann saying a Jewish teacher — who complained about classroom banners calling for Israel’s destruction — was “lying and playing the victim,” along with her joking about firebombing Jewish-owned business.  Gann, who teaches at the Workshop School, a project-based Philadelphia School District high school, also defended Keziah Ridgeway, a fellow Philadelphia teacher the school district disciplined for private, pro-Palestinian social media posts."

The Ministry announced that the gun-toting Israeli soldiers opened fire at vehicle near the village, killing 29-year-old Mahmoud Mohammad Suleiman.”  While decent people around the world are praying for the recovery of the latest Jewish victim of Palestinian Arab terrorism, Palestinian Arabs are being told by their government that the terrorist actually was an innocent victim of “gun-toting” Israelis—and Neria Leiter doesn’t even exist.  In Washington yesterday, Ambassador Leiter—whose son Moshe was killed by terrorists in Gaza in 2023—spoke of Palestinian Arab terror as “the unimaginable reality we have been living with in Israel.”  Part of what makes it so unimaginable is that a regime which signed a peace agreement with Israel thirty-three years ago justifies the terrorism, erases the Jewish victims, and rewards the terrorists.  In accordance with its Pay-for-Slay policy, the PA will reward Mahmoud Suleiman’s family with an initial payment of 6,000 shekels (about $2,000), followed by a monthly payment of 1,400 shekels ($461) for the rest of their lives. That’s nearly half the average monthly salary of residents of the PA-governed areas.  Is it any wonder that so many Israelis doubt the Palestinian Authority is sincerely interested in peace?"

Pensioner receives police payout over ‘thought crime’ tweet - "A retired special constable has been given compensation of £20,000 after being wrongly arrested over a social media post warning about rising anti-Semitism.  Julian Foulkes, from Gillingham, Kent, was handcuffed at his home by six officers after replying to a pro-Palestinian activist on X.  Kent Police officers searched his home and commented on his “very Brexity” book collection. The force detained the 71-year-old for eight hours, interrogated and issued him with a caution after officers visited his home on Nov 2 2023.  Earlier this month, Kent Police confirmed that the caution was a mistake and had been deleted from Mr Foulkes’s record. Tim Smith, the force’s chief constable, later phoned Mr Foulkes personally to offer an apology for the “ordeal he endured”.  Now, in a letter sent to Mr Foulkes’ solicitors, the force reiterated Mr Smith’s apology for the “distress caused by the actions of his officers” .  It also confirmed Kent Police would agree to an out-of-court settlement after Mr Foulkes launched a legal challenge, supported by the Free Speech Union (FSU), against the force for wrongful arrest and detention... Police body-worn camera footage captured officers scrutinising Mr Foulkes’s collection of books by authors such as Douglas Murray, a Telegraph contributor, and issues of The Spectator, pointing to what they described as “very Brexity things”.  Mr Foulkes’s X post replied to an activist threatening to sue Suella Braverman, the home secretary at the time, for calling pro-Palestinian demonstrations in London “hate marches”.  In the post, sent two days before police visited his home, Mr Foulkes wrote: “One step away from storming Heathrow looking for Jewish arrivals…”  Mr Foulkes’s X post was referring to news reports of an anti-Semitic mob that stormed an airport in Dagestan, Russia, looking for Jewish passengers. On Nov 2, six officers arrived at Mr Foulkes’s home, armed with batons and pepper spray. He was arrested, fingerprinted, photographed and swabbed for DNA.  After his home was searched, the retired special constable was locked in a police cell for eight hours and interrogated on suspicion of malicious communications.  Fearing that further escalation could impact his ability to visit his daughter, who lives in Australia, he accepted a caution despite having committed no offence... Mr Philp also called on the Government to support his proposed amendment to Labour’s Crime and Policing Bill, and “abolish non-crime hate incidents (NCHIs)”.  The amendment will seek to block police forces keeping records on individuals who have not broken the law but are accused of expressing views or behaviour deemed offensive."

Palestine Action activists ‘attacked guards with kebab skewers’ - "Palestine Action activists armed with “large kebab skewers” attacked security guards during a break-in at an Israel-linked weapons manufacturer, a court has heard.  Qesser Zuhrah, 21, Zahra Farooque, 26, Kamran Ahmed, 29, Heba Muraisi, 31, and Liam Mullany, 34, went on trial at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday charged with criminal damage and violent disorder over the break-in in the early hours of Aug 6, 2024. The court heard that a security guard suffered a 4cm laceration to his head after being attacked at an Elbit Systems site in Filton near Bristol. The firm’s parent company is based in Israel and manufactures defence technology equipment, including drones. The five defendants are accused of being part of a “black team”, wearing black jumpsuits, whose role was to overwhelm security guards so a “red team”, wearing red jumpsuits, “could break into the factory and start smashing up property”. Opening the trial, Deanna Heer KC, the prosecutor, said: “The black team did that by threatening, intimidating and, if necessary, assaulting the guards by throwing fireworks at them, brandishing weapons such as whips and hammers and large metal kebab skewers.”  Ms Heer added: “The attack was carefully planned, not only had the premises been targeted in advance, but willing participants had been identified and a step-by-step plan of action devised and agreed upon. Everyone taking part knew what their role was and what was required.”  Footage of the break-in, shown to jurors, appeared to show black team members lighting fireworks and flares and firing them at security guards, while others cracked whips and raised kebab skewers as they swore and shouted at guards to “back off”... The prosecutor said Nigel Shaw, a security guard, had suffered the laceration to his head after being struck by members of the black team, who all wore masks... All five defendants deny charges of criminal damage and violent disorder."

The cartoon, which accentuates the Jewish leader’s ears and nose, was reportedly drawn by Vasco Gargalo, a Portuguese cartoonist... Dr Fageir, who remains registered with the UK General Medical Council (GMC), also responded to reports of a rocket hitting a house in Israel by saying: “Great news… May all the Palestinian rockets hit their targets, amen. Indeed Israeli terrorists will be wiped out one day and Palestine will be free.”  In 2021, the consultant wrote: “The two Jewish states in the history of mankind are of similar length, time wise, 70-75 years. The end of this terrorist state is nigh, very nigh indeed.” To mark the anniversary of 9/11 in 2024, he reposted an AI image of Orthodox Jewish men celebrating in front of the Twin Towers as a plane approaches.  The graphic refers to the debunked “dancing Israelis” conspiracy theory which claims Israeli men were seen standing on top of a delivery van in New Jersey high-fiving and smiling as the attack unfolded... In June, ministers accepted recommendations from Lord Mann, the Government’s anti-Semitism adviser, and recommended measures including mandatory anti-Semitism training and restrictions on political symbols.  However, the British Medical Association voted to oppose the recommendations and seek an “immediate pause”, warning of implications for freedom of expression."

Magistrate said Jews are attacked ‘when Israel wants to divert attention’ - "A magistrate who suggested terror attacks on Jewish people in Britain were timed to divert attention from Israel has been reprimanded for serious misconduct.  Ansar Gulzar was disciplined after four of his Facebook posts were judged to have shown he “held a prejudicial view of matters involving Jewish people and Israel”.  The Judicial Conduct Investigations Office (JCIO) delivered the verdict after a campaign group complained about comments Mr Gulzar had made in the aftermath of an attack at a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur in which two people died.  On Oct 2, 2025, the day of the attack, Mr Gulzar wrote: “My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of Manchester. Every life matters. Question bothering me is why there is always an attack on a Jewish person when Israel wants to divert media attention?”  The JCIO judged that the comments had the “potential to cause emotional harm and undermine public confidence in the judiciary”. UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI) said the statement advanced a conspiratorial narrative by suggesting that violence against Jewish people was connected to Israel seeking to manipulate media coverage.  In another of Mr Gulzar’s posts, from June 2025, he said: “America has a long & brutal history of slave trade. Africans were American slaves between 16th & 19th century. Americans are Israeli slaves from 19th century.”  A further post on Jan 17, 2026, was judged to have presented Israel as a uniquely manipulative force responsible for destabilising countries across the Middle East... Mr Gulzar, a member of the Buckinghamshire bench of magistrates, had also breached guidance on the use of social media, which advises judges and magistrates to avoid controversial social or political comment."

Ed Miliband’s silence on the crimes of Palestinians speaks volumes - "“We will never be silent about injustice,” Ed Miliband declared when he outlined new measures against Israel at the Labour Party conference earlier this week. But in truth Britain’s Foreign Secretary is rather partial about the injustices he chooses to be noisy about.  When the victims are citizens of the Jewish state, Miliband suddenly becomes cautious. Faced with an attempted mass killing of passengers on a Flydubai flight to Tel Aviv, he offered this bland statement: “Deeply concerned about the incident that occurred on the Flydubai flight to Israel.”  After all, it was only an apparent attempt to murder 174 people – not construction of new homes near the Dead Sea. He displayed no such caution in his speech to Labour conference. The Foreign Secretary paid lip service by condemning Hamas before clarifying that Israel is committing ethnic cleansing and war crimes. In practice, mentioning Hamas only made the situation worse: he equated the barbaric terrorist organisation with the state of Israel that was defending itself against it. It is true that Miliband did not remain silent when the Iranians slaughtered thousands of their own people in the streets. In fact, he spoke out loudly – but against any response.  It was he who, in the British cabinet meeting on the eve of the “Epic Fury” operation, is reported to have led the opposition to allowing the United States to use British military bases for attacks on the Ayatollah’s regime. Just last week, he held a friendly meeting at the UN with the Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi,. Winston Churchill was lucky not to have a foreign secretary who met Joachim von Ribbentrop and prevented Roosevelt from using bases in London to prepare for D-Day. If Miliband truly believes that he “will never be silent in the face of injustice and suffering”, how does he continue to cultivate the Palestinian Authority, whose laws forbid the sale of land to Jews?... Did Miliband himself, with his immense sensitivity to human life, ever shout on the phone at the president of the Palestinian Authority over the law that allocates roughly 7 per cent of the PA’s budget to murderers of Jews, where the more you murder, the more you receive? Did he freeze aid budgets until the Palestinian education system in the West Bank stops, in the words of former Labour MP Joan Ryan, “teaching a curriculum which incites violence and terrorism and spreads anti-Semitism”?  There is an attempt at ethnic cleansing between the Jordan River and the sea, and it is by the Palestinians against the Jews. There is a fierce debate between Israel and Britain regarding the future of Judea and Samaria. This is a legitimate political debate. There is violence by Jewish extremists against Palestinians in the West Bank. This is a despicable phenomenon, although even in the West Bank it is not the worst instance of violence. Palestinian terrorist organisations try to murder Israelis every single day, yet Miliband hardly bothers to condemn it. Labour has – in practice if not in rhetoric – consistently acted to preserve Hamas’s rule in Gaza even after the atrocities of October 7. They have done this by demanding time and again for the war to stop before the terrorist organisation has been eliminated. Now, it is doing its best to establish a terror state five minutes away from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. It is no wonder that no government formed in Israel after October’s elections, no matter how Left-wing it may be, will be able to allow the establishment of such a state. When it slaughters Jews, Miliband is sure to do his best to prevent Israel from fighting it. If someone got their news on world events exclusively from the British Foreign Secretary’s X account, they might think that the greatest evil empire in the world is Israel, followed – after a massive gap – by Russia, Iran, and perhaps North Korea. The reason for this assault on the Jewish state is political: the strengthening of the Green Party with its fiercely “anti-Zionist” platform. That is why the campaign against Israel has ratcheted up with the arrival of party conference season. Miliband will run every red light on his way to stopping the Greens. If Labour were led by the successors of Harold Wilson, Tony Blair, and Gordon Brown, it would be busy moving toward the centre and caring for the average Briton. Bracha Jacobs, a Jewish student, claimed anti-Semitism had become normalised among students and “religious students expect to be heckled, harassed, and honked at in the street” while walking to and from campus”. A Salient Example of Hajj Amin el-Husseini’s Canonical Islamic Jew-Hatred—Introduction, Text, and Commentary (5/6)

Haggai Ben-Shammai‘s 1988 essay "Jew Hatred in the Islamic Tradition and Koranic Exegesis" 91 rivets on two key examples of Jew hatred in the Koran (and Koranic exegesis)—the "curse against the Jews" (in Koran 2:61, repeated elsewhere), and Koranic verses (most notably, 5:82) rationalizing why Jews were to be held in greater contempt than Christians. Ben-Shammai highlights the centrality of the Jews‘ "abasement and humiliation," and being "laden with God‘s anger" in the corpus of Muslim exegetic literature on Qur‘an 2:61, including the hadith and Koranic commentaries. Despite the literal reference of 2:61 to the Israelites in the wilderness during their exodus from Egypt, he notes,

to all of the Muslim exegetes, without exception, it was absolutely clear that the reference was to the Jews of their day. The Arabic word translated as "pitched upon them" also means, literally, that the "abasement and poverty" were decreed for them forever. The "abasement" is the payment of the poll tax [jizya] and the humiliating ceremony involved. As for the "poverty," this insured their remaining impoverished forever. There are traditions which attribute this interpretation to Muhammad himself.

The terrifying rage decreed upon the Jews forever is connected in the hadith and exegeses to Koran 1:7, where Muslims ask Allah to guide them rightly, not in the path of those who provoke and must bear His wrath. This verse is in turn linked to Koranic verses 5:60 and 5:78, which describe the Jews‘ transformation into apes and swine (5:60), having been "cursed by the tongue of David, and Jesus, Mary‘s son" (5:78). Ben-Shammai explains the primary reason for this "fearful decree," which resulted in the Jews being "so terribly cursed":

[F]rom time immemorial the Jews rejected God‘s signs, the wonders performed by the prophets. They did not accept the prophecy of Jesus whom the Koran counts among the prophets. But this is all part of the Jews‘ nature: they are by their very nature deceitful and treacherous.

Indeed according to the sira of both Ibn Ishaq and Ibn Sa‘d, just before subduing the Medinan Jewish tribe Banu Qurayza, and orchestrating the mass execution of their adult males, Muhammad himself invoked Koran 5:60, addressing these Jews, with hateful disparagement, as "You brothers of monkeys" (Ibn Sa‘d‘s account adds, "and pigs"). Muhammad also repeats the Koranic curse (of verse 5:78) upon the Jews in a canonical hadith, "He [Muhammad] then recited the verse [5:78]: '...curses were pronounced on those among the children of Israel who rejected Faith, by the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary‘."

Although the Jews initially longed for Muhammad to triumph over the pagan Arabs, "Would that Allah send this prophet of whom our Book says that his coming is assured" (according to a tradition cited by Ben-Shammai), realizing that Muhammad was not one of them, Ben-Shammai observes, quoting from Koran 5:64,

they then denied him out of jealousy of the Arabs, though they knew in truth he is the prophet. Furthermore, this Jewish trait brought them to grave heresy. They thought that they would succeed not only in leading humankind astray but also in fooling God . . . (5:64). "The Jews have said, God‘s hand is tied. . . . As often as they light a fire for war, God will extinguish it." Exegetes cite traditions which prove that the Jews always hated the true prophets and put them to death. Therefore they always failed in their wars and their Temple was destroyed time and again.

Ben-Shammai‘s analysis of Koran 5:82 links this verse to Koran 3:54-56, and in turn to the tradition, "The Christians are to be above the Jews until the day of Judgment, for there is no land where the Christians are not above the Jews, neither in the east nor the west. The Jews are degraded in all the lands."...

Ben-Shammai, arguing for prolonged historical continuity, "As has been stated, this tradition (i.e., of more intense Muslim-Jewish hatred) has remained alive to this very day," refers to the travelogue accounts of Edward William Lane, which record Lane‘s observations of Egyptian society, originally published in 1835. But Ben-Shammai fails to discuss a remarkable essay by the polymath Arabic writer al-Jahiz (d. 869), composed a millennium earlier, which bolsters his argument by illustrating the anti-Jewish attitudes already prevalent within an important early (i.e., mid-9th century), Islamic society—the seat of the Abbasid-Baghdadian Caliphate.

Al-Jahiz‘s essay—an anti-Christian polemic believed to have been commissioned by the Abbasid caliph al-Mutawakkil (d. 861), who inaugurated a literary campaign against the Christians L59— explores the reasons why the Muslim masses prefer the Christians to the Jews...

Al-Jahiz offers two primary explanations for this abiding hostility of the Muslim rank and file toward the Jews. First was the "rancorous" relationship between the early Muslim community, exiles from Mecca, and their Jewish neighbors in Medina:

When the [Muslim] Emigrants [from Mecca] became the neighbors of the Jews [in Medina] . . .the Jews began to envy the Muslims the blessings of their new faith, and the union which resulted after dissension. They proceeded to undermine the belief of our [i.e., the Muslim] masses, and to lead them astray. They aided our enemies and those envious of us. From mere misleading speech and stinging words they plunged into an open declaration of enmity, so that the Muslims mobilized their forces, exerting themselves morally and materially to banish the Jews and destroy them. Their strife became long-drawn and widespread, so that it worked itself up into a rage, and created yet greater animosity and more intensified rancor. The Christians, however, because of their remoteness from Mecca and Medina, did not have to put up with religious controversies, and did not have occasion to stir up trouble, and be involved in war. That was the first cause of our dislike of the Jews, and our partiality toward the Christians.

However, al-Jahiz then identifies as "the most potent cause" of this particular animus toward the Jews, Koran 5:82, and its interpretation by the contemporary (i.e., mid-ninth-century) Muslim masses. It is also worth noting that al-Jahiz (described as a "skeptic," who harbored "indifferent views toward religion in general") included these sociological observations that reveal the interface between Islamic religious and indigenous (and indigenous ethnic/racial discriminatory attitudes toward) Jews expressed a millennium before any secular Western European antisemitic ideologies would be exported to the Muslim Near East:

Our people [the Muslims] observing thus the occupations of the Jews and the Christians concluded that the religion of the Jews must compare unfavorably as do their professions, and that their unbelief must be the foulest of all, since they are the filthiest of all nations. Why the Christians, ugly as they are, are physically less repulsive than the Jews may be explained by the fact that the Jews, by not intermarrying, have intensified the offensiveness of their features. Yet I can find no evidence that Sheridan ever disciplined him over this material.  And Ramadan was not some unrelated professor.  He was one of my accusers.  So maybe somebody should start asking the people who actually made the decisions.  Ask Melanie Spence-Ariemma how she managed to occupy overlapping roles in the process—as complainant, institutional accuser and senior decision-maker.  Ask Bill Rosehart, then Provost of the University of Guelph and now President of the University of Waterloo, why he participated in terminating a professor he had never spoken to—not once.  Ask why the institutions relied on a report they commissioned while allowing anonymous hearsay.  Ask why the disciplinary hearing was cancelled.  Ask why the people ending a 15-year teaching career apparently did not think it necessary to speak directly with the professor whose career they were ending.  Ask why the appeals process did not provide anything resembling a meaningful hearing.  And above all, ask this:  Why was a professor with a tiny LinkedIn following, no disciplinary history and no comparable record of hostility toward Muslim students destroyed over one disputed screenshot, while his accuser—with thousands of political posts and an enormous following—continued teaching without apparent discipline?  What neutral principle explains that?  Universities can issue all the statements about antisemitism they like. Judge institutions by what they do, what they punish—and what they tolerate."

Leading Palestinian Activist Dismisses Mark Ruffalo Remarks on Gaza and Paramount - "It was a coincidence that I found myself talking to one of the leading advocates for Palestinian rights in Gaza this weekend, Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib. Alkhatib is a senior fellow at the think tank The Atlantic Council in Washington D.C. and has a new book out called “Hamas and its Two Million Hostages,” which argues for ending Hamas rule in Gaza and empowering Palestinians to have agency in their own land. I was interested in learning about the book and he agreed to meet via Zoom. But over the previous two days, a controversy had broken out over remarks made by progressive activist and actor Mark Ruffalo regarding Gaza and Paramount’s proposed merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. Human rights commissioner to intervene in appeal of VIU student suspended over Palestinian protests - "A Vancouver Island University (VIU) student has filed an appeal of a Supreme Court ruling upholding her two-year suspension for actions during Palestinian solidarity protests, and now the B.C. human rights commissioner will act as an intervenor.  Sara Kishawi, a Palestinian-Canadian was suspended by VIU in October 2024 for her actions during on-campus protests.  She filed with the BC Supreme Court to overturn her two-year suspension arguing that VIU acted outside of the scope of its authority, the university fettered its discretion in using a decision matrix, the decision was disproportionate and that the decision limited her Charter rights to engage in political expression.  Ultimately, a Supreme Court judge upheld the suspension, saying that Charter rights do not apply to student discipline...   “Freedom of speech and assembly are essential parts of our democratic rights,” said Kasari Govender, human rights commissioner. “My intervention will clarify that universities have an obligation to balance these values when deciding how to respond to protest activities on campus.”... Kishawi was suspended after four incidents between May and June 2024.  The first on May 15, when a group allegedly entered the roof of a building to hang a banner using rope and duct tape and the group refused to leave or identify themselves when asked by a security manager.  Then on May 16, a group brought a ladder to rehang the banner that had been blown back over the railing by the wind. Kishawi said she did not recall involvement in this incident.  On June 28, a group of students including Kishawi entered a building for a sit-in which the university said was loud and disruptive.  The final incident was when two people, including Kishawi, reportedly entered an employee-only area and wrote graffiti on two doors and an after-hours drop box and hung signs using duct tape. Kishawi said she did not recall this incident."

There are several ways of prosecuting a war, but it's usually inadvisable to start one unless you can win it.   On that basis, you might think Hamas was pretty dumb to provoke one of the most effective armies in the world, but Hamas aren't stupid. They understand that propaganda is also a weapon of war, by which you can leverage the gullibility and idiocy of people against your enemy.   This is quite a costly strategy in that provoking Israel to such an extent was always going to result in a sustained and uncompromising reply. Hamas, of course, knew this but they simply didn't care. They were prepared to sacrifice tens of thousands of their own people, playing the long game, in the somewhat plausible belief that they could turn international opinion against Israel.   That has worked a number of times in several wars, and its part of the reason the West could not sustain wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel is different though, because for Israel, it is not a war of choice. It is a fight or die equation where the opinions of others don't come into it.    For a time, though, Israel had reason for concern. International public opinion was turning sour - which is still dangerous for them. But I think that's probably over now because we can see Palestine supporters for who and what they are. Every single one of them has outed themselves as a first order moronic bigot who latches on to every other moronic cause.    We also see, in Britain particularly, supporters of this cause are also people who would do to us what Hamas did to Jews on 7/10 if they could - and have a track record of trying. It's the same people who've been grooming and raping teenage girls across England.   While pro-Palestine demonstrations have been large - often comprised of foreigners and subversives, they are still a minority. Most are just gullible students who will grow out of it eventually when they learn how the real world works. The vast majority of people in the UK don't care all that much. I certainly don't.   What Gazans are living through is exactly what they asked for, and far less than they deserve - especially after cheering on the psychopaths who paraded the corpses of the women they raped. One can only admire Israel's restraint. In the end, the war is one of civilisation versus Stone Age barbarism.
There's a Part 2 to this. Nobody who utters the words "Free Palestine" ever bothers to articulate what that actually means. To Islamists, that means a "Palestine" free of Jews, while to the average pro-pal activists, they don't have any concept of what it means because they've never looked at a map or given it a nanosecond's thought.  More sophisticated advocates for "Palestine" might suggest that it consists of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and that it requires the removal of all Jewish settlements in the region. Sounds very reasonable doesn't it?   That, though, has been offered to Palestinians several times. But such a peace would be disastrous to the Islamists. It would mean no international refugee status, no more aid funds to divert into Cayman Islands accounts, and would means doing the hard work of governing and peacebuilding instead of letting NGOs do all the work. They would have to do as the Jews did and build a country. More to the point, it would mean giving up on their religious imperative to kill all Jews.   If you bribed them with enough money, they might agree to this (which was actually tried) but soon after you get another Islamist group sponsored by outside Islamic influences to keep the grift going. Immediately afterwards, the terrorist attacks start up again, and Israel again has to close its borders and retaliate when it gets serious. Soon after, we are back here again.   In this universe, though, the West Bank becomes an existential military threat to Israel, - as a staging area for an invasion that could cut Israel in half. There is only one way Israel could agree to this and that is to ensure such a state is a protectorate that is never allowed conventional weapons of any kind. But even then, as we've seen with the Houthis, they can do an awful lot with unconventional weapons such as drones and Toyota pickups.   Before long Iran, Turkey, or one of the Arab petro-states would be funnelling weapons into the province for their own geopolitical ends. Setting yourself up in the Arab world as the enemy of the Jews is pivotal to maintaining your grip on power. Israel would have to pre-emptively invade, and then it's back to how it is now.   Not in a billion years can Israel allow such a strategic vulnerability to develop on its very doorstep. There is no scenario where giving Palestinians a state results in peaceful coexistence - and since this is an existential matter for the Jewish people, they are right to ignore their critics."

Andy Ujku-Dardania | Facebook - "One of the most infuriating sense of entitlement in a movie I have ever watched was from The Hamburg Cell (2004).  It’s towards the beginning when 9/11 hijacker Ziad Jarrah arrives in Germany from Lebanon and is not particularly religious at that point. He’s hadn’t fallen in with the jihadist crowd yet.  He’s at a mosque with other Muslims and they’re all introducing each other and where they’re from. Ziad says he’s from Lebanon and almost immediately he incurs the wrath of a Palestinian man there who castigates the Lebanese for abandoning Palestine.  The exchange devolves into a shouting match between the two as Ziad angrily asks; “What do you want me to do? You want me to blow myself up”?  And the Palestinian guy incredulously says; “Yes, you should blow yourself up!” The fight is broken up by the other mosque attendees and that’s the end of it. But my God the sense of entitlement on that guy.  You want a total stranger who’s not even from your country to become a suicide bomber because you’re too chickenshit to do it yourself?  I find this level of entitlement to be a central feature of people from the global south. They think because you’re better off, you owe it to them…up to and including your life. It’s a very selfish and self-serving mindset."

Along with @raychfeldman, I went digging through years of archive material and social media posts.  Let us start long before he came to the U.S.  It is 2010 - his patience is wearing thin - and he promises that "soon, very soon, we will annihilate the Jews"There are plenty of posts from this period that glorify violence - but this footage from 2013 is still exceptional.  In a TV interview, Mahdawi suggests that if Palestinians “think a little”, they will see they have “the capacity and conviction to resist, to kill and to wound.”

Mahdawi is now on U.S soil, but that does not stop him. Mahdawi explicitly praises the armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad - calling them lions and describing those pursuing resistance abroad as “mere dwarves.”Mahdawi tells the story of an uncle who inspired him toward education. But before that story appeared for a U.S. audience, Mahdawi described him differently in Arabic - as the man who taught him nationalism, to arm himself with "faith as with a rifle”, and “the first bullets.”The glorification of terrorists continued. In 2018, Mahdawi cursed and threatened Palestinian security forces. Their offence? Helping Israel capture a Hamas terrorist who had murdered a rabbi.  Mahdawi branded them “traitors.”Throughout this period, Mahdawi continued to praise numerous terrorists who were killed.  In 2021 he honours Fadi Washaha - a terrorist with a long history of armed violence involving guns, grenades and attacks at “zero distance.”  Mahdawi called him his “brother in struggle.”Mahdawi founded and led the Columbia University protests, standing alongside those calling for an intifada. He even spoke alongside Nerdeen Kiswani at a Within Our Lifetime event.  Here he speaks to the crowd directly in front of a banner declaring “BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.”Mahdawi claims he stepped back from the movement - but his social media posts in October 2024 were still offering full support for the Columbia protests. He also says he withdrew before the encampment. But here he is inside it.
It gets worse. December 2024 - a decade after Mahdawi moved to America.  HHe posts a video in Arabic and describes “armed resistance in the West Bank or Gaza” alongside the overseas “popular resistance” that “we began and are still engaged in.”  His words below ⬇️⬇️
Even after the arrest it continued. 2026: Mahdawi had left a Facebook group he created that glorified Palestinian terrorists. In 2026, he chose to rejoin it - reassociating himself with the group and becoming an administrator once again.
Then there is Mahdawi's family. He posted on instagram about how their lives were "stolen" - but when we traced them - we found the image was very different. Each of them were tied to armed resistance.
Finally, the story at the heart of Mahdawi’s transformation. He says his best friend was shot dead in front of him as a child - and he held his blood-soaked body - and his uncle then spoke by his graveside. Our investigation shows chronology makes his account impossible.
