Plouffe says the top five people on the Harris campaign spend hundreds(??) of hours trying to decide how to respond to the they/them ad. The Dem flaks believe that the Trump campaign was explicitly targeting the they/them ad at blacks in Philly and Atlanta markets, but they seem to imply the ultimate effect of the ad was not on blacks but (therefore by implication) on whites. They don’t say this outright but trans issue was tough for them because real problem was voters both (1) hated the Biden/Harris trans policy, and (2) hated that it was a higher policy priority than the economy. I can see how it’s hard to run “I don’t care” ads
Lol. Remember how a few weeks ago Trump’s non-campaign led GOTV effort was pathetically, historically bad? Now it is “so well coordinated it must be criminal”. This is so bizarre. They are so frustrated by the coordination issue. Apparently Dem non-profits are really terrible. Maybe this is why everyone got 30 text messages a day and dozens of flyers, it wasn’t a deliberate strategy but a clusterfudge? (They seem shocked that GOP orgs could take turns doing certain states on alternate weeks or something, so Dems must have been unable to divide tasks)

Kamala Harris’ memoir blames everyone for her failures but herself - "Once you scrape through the politician-y pabulum, they tell us two things: that Harris is incapable of taking responsibility – and that she was lying to us throughout her vice-presidency and her campaign about Joe Biden’s capacity to do his duty. The Atlantic has reprinted an excerpt of about 3,000 words from the Harris campaign memoir 107 Days. Judging by the extract, the book, like the campaign itself, conveniently glosses over Biden’s presidency by starting its account on the day that he dropped out of the race. But Harris still can’t resist settling scores and rewriting history. Relishing the role of victim, Harris seethes with grievance. Everything is someone else’s fault. Some of that aggrievement is aimed at the Biden White House, which she frames as mistrustful of her loyalty. Her enemies in the White House are everywhere, but always unnamed, and she never seems to ask whether the president knew what his own White House was doing. “When polls indicated that I was getting more popular,” she writes, “the people around him didn’t like the contrast that was emerging.” In fact, her standing in the polls was abysmal until Biden dropped out, at which point the party faithful resignedly rallied around her. Harris says that she couldn’t get her side of the story out because her press staff was too small, but then she complains that she was the first vice-president to have her own press pool, so there was too much unwelcome media coverage of what she was doing. We don’t know from the excerpts if we will get any actual first-hand stories of what Harris was doing to find out the truth of Biden’s capacity when she was out publicly smearing Robert Hur for saying that Biden seemed like a confused old man. “I don’t believe it was incapacity,” she now writes. “If I believed that, I would have said so.” Instead, she told us the opposite loudly and repeatedly. Harris says now that, “at 81, Joe got tired … the debate debacle happened right after two back-to-back trips to Europe and a flight to the West Coast for a Hollywood fundraiser.” Sorry, presidents travel to diplomatic meetings and fundraisers all the time. Biden landed back in Los Angeles from his European trip on June 15, 12 days before the debate, and returned to the East Coast the next day. He spent a weekend at the beach in Delaware followed by a full week at Camp David prepping for the debate. If he couldn’t speak coherently because he’d been abroad nearly two weeks earlier, that is incapacity. That’s the job, and he couldn’t do it. Harry Truman famously proclaimed when he was president that “the buck stops here” – on his desk. Biden has never taken responsibility for the failure of his presidency and the loss of the 2024 election. Judging by her initial salvo, Harris isn’t going to either. The buck never stops when everybody on the team thinks they can just print more of them."

For example, 24 months ago Kamala made fun of the idea of a border wall. She called it “stupid.” On CNN yesterday she said she’s all for it because all “good ideas” should be implemented. The CNN host wasn’t buying the transformation and the people aren’t either. This version of Kamala Harris isn’t real. Meanwhile, for better or worse, Donald Trump’s still Donald Trump. Same guy now as when he hit the scene in 2016. Same guy who presided over economic prosperity without arresting political rivals or watering down the First Amendment by clamping down on “misinformation.” You don’t have to fall in love with Trump to know, at the very least, he is authentic. And, he has a good track record. By comparison, Trump resonates with voters. That’s the take-a-way.
