Links - 16th January 2026 (1 - General Wokeness)

Brandon Warmke on X - "Universities are unlikely to self-reform because a critical mass of faculty think higher ed should just be a left-wing activism machine. Here, the Paulo Freire Distinguished Scholar in Critical Pedagogy argues that to defeat fascism (40 mentions), universities need more  "critical pedagogy," activism ("a form of education"), and "organized collective resistance." He's not an outlier."

Rupa Subramanya on X - "Here are the 2023, 2024, and 2025 budgets on woke related spending. Notably, the 2025 budget eliminates items like mental health supports for Black Canadians and the action plan for Black public service employees. What’s striking is the absence of pushback from the organizations that will no longer receive this funding. There's no question Carney has trimmed a lot of the fat on the social agenda which was on steroids under Trudeau. https://x.com/JBouryiotis/st"
SpartacuS on X - "No push back because these organizations will have all been told the money will be coming from somewhere else. They just rename the funding."

Meme - David Wood @Acts17David: "Go through a standard Western education, and you'll hear all about the Crusades, but not one word about the Muslim conquest battles. Why is that?"
Dan Burmawi @DanBurmawy: "Oh no, the Crusades! The horror! The absolute horror!"
"MUSLIM CONQUEST BATTLES *many, all over Europe, the Middle East and North Africa*
CRUSADE BATTLES *few, concentrated in Turkey, Lebanon and Syria*"

François Valentin on X - "The latest on "homo-nationalism", more than a third of male Rassemblement National MPs are apparently gay. Considerably more than any other party, even on the left"
Time to ban them to keep gays safe
Clearly they are ignorant and self hating

John B. Holbein on X - "Conservatives' confidence in the scientific community continues to crater."
Moderates too. Clearly this shows that only liberals are sane. Moderates are Science Deniers too. Scientific institutions proclaiming their left wing bias has nothing to do with it. We need to censor social media to restore trust in science

Khamenei post on Western income inequality raises hackles on X | Iran International - "A post on X by Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's highlighting income inequality between women and men in the West stoked criticism by users who pointed to the Islamic theocracy's record on women's rights.  “In many Western countries today, women are paid less than men for doing the same work." Khamenei’s official English-language account posted on Wednesday. "That’s how they are today, which is totally unjust.”  The message echoed parts of a speech he delivered the same day to an audience of women and girls, in which he defended the compulsory Islamic veil and criticized the treatment of women in the West.  A "readers added context" note under his post, a feature introduced under the platform's new owner Elon Musk which collates users' responses, said bluntly: "Iran has a greater gender inequality than the entire west."... adjusted for experience and hours, the gender pay gap in Western countries stands at around 1-4%.  But both the World Bank and the International Labor Organization (ILO) list Iran’s gender pay gap for identical roles at 35%, fueled by laws requiring male guardian permission for women to travel, work or study... Iran ranks 143 out of 146 countries in the latest World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report.  Amnesty International has documented systemic gender discrimination in Iran in its 2024 report, including up to 74 lashes for defying hijab rules and frequent impunity for honor killings."

rayne fisher-quann on X - "my boyfriend is way more domestically functional and generous than I am so i’ve had to start innovating new strains of feminist theory to maintain the upper hand. Recently came up with the term “weaponized competence”"
Wokal Distance on X - "She was trying to make a joke, but she accidentally explained exactly what identity politics are really all about: creating theories that can be tactically deployed in the service of grabbing the upper hand in social interactions."

Woman recognised as ‘first black Briton’ by BBC was actually white - "A woman who was recognised as the “first black Briton” by the BBC was actually white, a new genetic study has shown.  In 2016, the series Black and British: A Forgotten History, suggested that the Roman skeleton of a woman found at Beachy Head was from sub-Saharan Africa.  A plaque was erected to commemorate her heritage, which was later removed when a study suggested the woman was more likely to be from Cyprus, with a Mediterranean complexion.  Now a new DNA analysis of the skeleton by scientists at the Natural History Museum has shown that the woman originated from southern England and was white, with blonde hair and light eyes... The claim about the skeleton’s African origins was made in Prof David Olusoga’s documentary series, which told the story of the “enduring relationship between Britain and people whose origins lie in Africa”... In the programme, Prof Olusoga remarked that “she’s a black Briton”, while Jo Seaman, an expert archaeologist, explained that her African origins and the age of her remains were likely to have made her the “earliest black Briton”... There has been ongoing scientific debate about the skin tone of early Britons, with some researchers suggesting that the constructors of Stonehenge were black.  However, some genetic studies have shown that the inhabitants of Britain in the period when Stonehenge was completed, around 2,500BC, were pale-skinned early farmers, whose ancestors had spread from Anatolia – modern-day Turkey. A Natural History Museum analysis of “Cheddar Man” – the skeleton of an individual who lived in Somerset 10,000 years ago – suggested he had dark skin and blue eyes."

Crémieux on X - "The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ames: Whites no longer have to face higher standards to have their discrimination cases heard in court!"
Crémieux on X - "Related to anti-White discrimination: Until June, if Whites wanted to file a discrimination case in court, many states required them to face higher legal burdens to do so. Then, the Supreme Court ruled Whites don't need to face higher barriers. It's insane they ever did!"

Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry on X - "1. Haitians in Haiti eat cats and dogs
2. Decades of literature show Haitians in diaspora communities stealing and eatings cats
3. Over months Springfield residents said that whenever Haitians appeared pets disappeared
Ergo, 4. Seems pretty likely the Haitians stole and ate the pets!
This is a pretty solid chain of evidence, and anybody without partisan-brain would agree. Would it hold up in court? No. Is it a legitimate topic for public debate? Yes. Does it justify calling the allegation a "lie" and a "hoax" and "debunked"? No.   Meanwhile the left’s position seems to be that unless the GOP can produce 4K video of a Haitian eating a cat while holding up the day’s newspaper and a GPS locator showing Springfield OH as the location then it’s "false" and there’s "no evidence" and it’s a "lie."  Which is obviously an absurd standard that they nor anybody else uses in any other are of life.  And they say this while claiming that Charlie Kirk was murdered by a Republican, that George Floyd was murdered by a racist cop, that Kyle Rittenhouse murdered random black people, that Donald Trump is a rapist and a pedophile, or pick one of any of the countless hoaxes that they constantly constantly come up with and histrionically promote."

Wesley Yang on X - "Among poll respondents aged 18-30, Black and Hispanic Americans agreed with anti-semitic statements at similar levels as white respondents who identified as alt-right. White American Boomers may have been the most philo-semitic non-Jewish cohort in world history. As America's population increasingly resembles that of the wider world, it increasingly reverts to the global norm."

Washington Free Beacon on X - "WATCH: After a New York Times writer calls her a “white nationalist” for warning about Islamic extremism, Jillian Michaels reveals her ethnicity. “You know I’m Arab, right?”"
Ryan James Girdusky on X - "lol the guy calling @JillianMichaels a white nationalist is the same one who said he wanted to replace all the white people in America and Europe"

Euro 'Anti-Hate' Group Boss Discussed 'Necessity' of Killing Whites - "Mamadou Ba, head of the Portuguese “anti-hate” group SOS Racismo, spoke of the need to “kill the white man” at a recent online conference on “hate speech”.  Ba, a Portuguese citizen originally from Senegal, attended the conference on Saturday which was on the topic of “Racism and the Advancement of Hate Speech in the World”.  During the conference, which was attended by Portuguese speakers from Portugal and Brazil, Ba stated “it is necessary to kill the white man, murderer, colonial, and racist” to “prevent the social death of the black political subject”.  According to a report from Portuguese daily newspaper Correio da Manhã, the statement was a quote from Algerian far-left anti-colonialist political philosopher Frantz Fanon, who openly advocated for violence during the French rule of Algeria in his seminal work The Wretched of the Earth.  The newspaper states that it is not clear whether Ba was quoting the far-left philosopher, but said it was presumed he did so in agreement.  “Refutation is part of the proposition, but what matters most to combat hate speech is to propose a new narrative,” Ba said during the online meeting.  Earlier this year, the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), which is partnered with Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros’s Open Society Foundations, called for support of SOS Rascimo, which it described as one of the “founding members” of the ENAR.   According to the ENAR, Ba and other activists had been sent threats online, and Ba himself had received a letter with a bullet casing inside it.  The incident is not the first controversial moment for a so-called “anti-hate” group in Europe, many of which have direct ties to both Open Society Foundations and George Soros, such as Hope Not Hate in the UK which was identified in a Swedish military report on far-left extremism in 2018.  In Germany, the anti-hate Amadeau Antonio Stiftung, headed by former Stasi informant Anetta Kahane, sparked controversy after releasing a guide for schools to spot “Nazi parents”."
The anti "hate" people sure do hate a lot. Being against "hate" just means you hate white people, men, etc

Ben Crump on X - "The DOJ’s lawsuit against Minneapolis Public Schools challenges layoff protections designed to preserve diversity in classrooms. Equity is not discrimination. Our students deserve educators who reflect their communities and policies that confront systemic inequality."
Wesley Yang on X - "“Equity is not discrimination.” Ibram X. Kendi said that it was. The intuition was that we were ready to stop with the euphemisms and be real about what the euphemisms always meant and always were so as to dispense with whatever restraint accompanied the pretense encoded in the euphemism.   Now legal exigencies require a reversion to euphemism. But it’s too late. The wager has already been made and lost."

Patriots should not fight for the British state - "Talk of war is everywhere. Last week Mark Rutte, Nato’s secretary general, warned that the West must be prepared “for the scale of war our grandparents or great-grandparents endured” and that Nato is “Russia’s next target”. Then Sir Richard Knighton, the chief of the defence staff, said that the global situation is the most “dangerous I have known”, before describing a “new era for defence” which “doesn’t just mean our military and government stepping up… it means our whole nation stepping up”.  But is this realistic? Will the Britons of 2025 rise to the call as we did in 1914 or 1939? Polling suggests not. According to an Ipsos poll in June, almost half of us “say there are no circumstances” in which we “would be willing to take up arms for Britain”, with 39 per cent of men saying they would never fight for this country, and only 42 per cent of 18-34 year olds saying there are circumstances in which they would fight.  Some of those refusing are Leftists, but an increasing number of those on the Right, especially the young, believe that to obey the British state is to act against the interests of the British people.  The nation has changed almost beyond recognition since we were last called upon to mobilise and fight a global war. We are no longer one people, but numerous parallel societies with little to no connection to one another. Presiding over this is an incompetent bureaucracy wedded to universalist ideas and chiefly concerned with its own survival. It is an administration that rejects the concept of national identity. It will only on occasions like this – when it wants something from patriotic Britons – adopt the language and symbolism of the old regime. But this is merely a skin suit. It will say these things while pursuing a migration policy causing great harm to Britons. And what about citizenship? Here anyone from the Commonwealth can sit on a jury, vote or even become a magistrate. Half of the social housing in our capital is given to people born abroad. Even our Security Services no longer require that applicants have at least one British parent, so committed are they to the state religion of “widening the pool of individuals eligible to join”. This is a country which continues to import vast numbers of foreigners, suppressing native wages and ensuring that our youth unemployment rate continues to rise, with almost four million young people neither working nor studying. The state can’t even equip its soldiers. The Army’s Ajax vehicle programme has been so disastrously mismanaged that the vehicle has disabled soldiers who rode in it. Even military chiefs have admitted that the Army couldn’t fight Russia for more than two months, although serving soldiers I have spoken to think we’d struggle after two weeks. Britain and the British people face existential threats. These include an economy that has barely produced any real per capita growth in almost 20 years. Despite this, the state continues to believe that mass migration will bring us prosperity. Our energy costs are amongst the highest in the developed world. Multiculturalism shows no sign of ever working as promised. Against all this, Russia’s ambitions in the Donbas may well feel relatively insignificant to many Britons. The first duty of a state is to protect its people. Britain has failed in that duty. It is easy then to understand why so few Britons would be willing to fight for a state which seems to care so little for us. While many of us feel a deep and profound patriotic love for the British nation, our land, our people and our heritage, that love is increasingly not felt for the state itself. I know many very patriotic British men and women who now feel that they love their nation, but hate the state. Given how it has, and continues to treat them, who can really criticise their unwillingness to fight for it?"

Calling a colleague disorganised ‘is harassment’ - "Calling a colleague “disorganised” amounts to harassment, an employment tribunal has ruled.  A judge said the use of the adjective could “undermine” colleagues and “violate their dignity”.  Cambridge Employment Tribunal found that Nicole Hogger, a public relations worker, was harassed after her manager described her as “disorganised”.  Ms Hogger argued that she had been treated unlawfully because of her ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and has now won claims of disability harassment, disability discrimination and unfair constructive dismissal.  She is in line to receive compensation from Genesis PR, a company in Ipswich, Suffolk, where she worked as a PR account manager. Ms Hogger was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021 after her doctor found she showed “poor organisation, forgetfulness and difficulty getting started on tasks requiring significant mental effort”. However, the medical report was not shared with her managers."
Clearly this will encourage companies to hire more disabled people

Kate on X - "i think what makes me increasingly angry about anti-Muslim sentiment is it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you live in a country where politics often features discussions about the ills of Islam, that will increasingly force Muslims to the fringes
if people feel barred, gatekept or oppressed because of how mainstream society views Muslims, that ends up in severe grievance politics territory. We need to ask ourselves why a young man who grew up in Australia was radicalised here and it's never as simple as evil person"
Midwit King on X - "The notion that if we simply ignore Islamic violence and terror in perpetuity it will fix the problem beggars belief. Did cracking down on anti-Islamic speech resolve the issues in Europe? Did reinstituting effect blasphemy laws in Sweden and Britain prevent attacks there?"
Damo on X - "This claim about Muslims being helplessly radicalised by scrutiny of Islam is what Sam Harris calls the Narrative Narrative. "It's either one of the most pessimistic and uncharitable things ever said about a community, or it's true.""
Strangely left wingers don't believe this is true for white people or men
Naturally, OP claims Europe is Islamophobic and doesn't persecute critics of Islam

Colin Wright on X - "Those who think “woke is dead” haven’t fully absorbed how a decade of DEI initiatives in academia reshaped not only the racial composition of faculty, but the ideological composition as well. This shift is concentrated among early-career academics. As the old guard retires, these younger woke radicals will replace them and shape hiring decisions for decades to come.  If you think academia’s ideological skew was bad before and even worse today, brace yourself. It’s going to get considerably worse over the next decade and beyond.  We need to reform hiring procedures in scientific and medical institutions that receive public funding now. Not by imposing ideological quotas (no DEI for conservatives), but by adopting genuinely blind processes that prevent ideological discrimination in hiring."

Woke education stunts young minds - "Public education is a shambles and many young people will be ill-prepared for all but a very narrow range of career pursuits: professional climate change protestor, socialist activist, cheerless woke author whose audience consists entirely of gullible progressives, interim leader of the Green Party of Canada or some other similar career path where adherence to a wide range of preposterous doctrines is required and knowledge of basic mathematics is a disqualifying liability. Nothing else can be concluded from a perusal of the list of workshops at the Elementary Teachers of Toronto professional development day this week.  The list of 25 workshops includes such unpromising titles as: “Teaching math while White: An abolitionist approach to dismantling racism in the math classroom,” “Climate change and the classroom: Engaging students about frontline climate work,” “Centering anti-racist and anti-colonial pedagogy in early years literacy,” and “Elementary teachers acting for social justice — theatre of the oppressed.” Spare us the social justice theatrics; the real oppression in public schools is the dismal quality of instruction that prevents many students from receiving a proper education. Test results this fall showed only 47 per cent of Ontario’s grade six students meet provincial standards in mathematics... “an abolitionist approach to dismantling racism in the math classroom” — is curious. If racism is so rampant in Toronto’s public schools that an abolitionist movement is needed to dismantle it, a reasonable person might conclude the problem would better be solved not by holding an afternoon workshop for a handful of teachers but instead by disbanding the Toronto District School Board and issuing vouchers to families so they can send their children to private schools that offer non-racist mathematics classes where students have a better than 47 per cent chance of attaining a reasonable standard of mathematics education. While there is only one workshop on teaching mathematics — i.e., there are none on teaching math while LGBTQ, or teaching math while Catholic, or teaching math while being a septuagenarian former French pastry chef — there are four workshops on climate change. In addition to the one on engaging students about frontline climate work, there are: “How educators can organize for climate action and win,” “Local workshop series: Climate change and climate action,” and “Climate justice is union business: A workshop for workers,” which calls on teachers to turn themselves into “effective climate warriors.” Professional development indeed! What profession do the union leaders think their members are in, climate change activism? Or if the union has redefined the teaching profession to refocus it on woke activism and other assorted political campaigning instead of actually educating students, the families who pay taxes so their children can go to schools staffed by the union have not been sufficiently informed of this fact. Nor would their morale be greatly improved by learning it. This redefinition of the teaching profession might raise consternation even among families who do not have school-age children. Taxes are supposed to pay for things that deliver some public good. The proposition that there is public benefit in transforming a generation of youth into woke Greta Thunberg facsimiles is one reasonable people are likely to dispute. On its online page providing information about the professional development workshops, the Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) informs its members that “your union has won this day in our collective agreement as a time where teachers are released to attend ETT organized professional development activities,” the verb “released” perhaps conjuring up in readers images of prisons or asylums. The people who really need to be released are the students — released from the shackles of the failing public school system, through voucher programs or other policies that give them alternatives to the government- and union-run woke monopoly."

Meme - ">You see the strong, agile guy that has a cool outfit and dies for his principles?
>Yeah, he's actually a loser and you're supposed to hate him
?????"

John Rain on X - "A recent study examined the relationship between honesty, intelligence, and ethnic background:  "Research shows that honesty correlates positively with intelligence. Similarly, there are racial differences in honesty, with Europeans being more honest than various other ethnic groups."  "We replicate prior findings that honesty correlated with measures of intelligence and that Blacks and Hispanics are less honest than Whites, and this holds whether honesty is measured by self-reports, interviewer-reports or by parent-reports."  "Race differences in honesty remained between Blacks and Whites but not between Whites and Hispanics after controlling for intelligence.""
JayMan on X - "This was @KirkegaardEmil’s and @jensenjeans’s test of WEIRDness, where they find that continental race and national IQ are predictive of wallet returns in the honesty experiment. Of course, underlying WEIRDness primarily explains the results."

Jason Locasale on X - "These are the patterns that undermine the public’s confidence in our academic institutions. Duke’s medical school dean Mary Klotman has urged faculty to actively counter "misinformation" from HHS. At the same time, she has stripped away much of the remaining merit in the school, silenced faculty and eliminated many of them. We know why the public doesn’t trust them."
Right wingers not trusting universities just shows that they're ignorant and hate education

Racial Slur directed at me/ in the public : r/askSingapore - "Hi all, I would like to share about an incident that happened near a void deck playground late at night a few hours ago.  I'm 22 M chinese lean build and i was accompanied by a friend 22 F chinese  I was at a playground near West Coast/Jurong East, engrossed in a conversation about university with my female friend. As we talked, a group of Malay boys, whom I later overheard were serving their national service, approached the playground. Initially, their chatter was innocuous, but as the conversation unfolded, it became uncomfortable. They began making derogatory remarks about the appearance of Chinese people, including phrases like "cina babi" and "cina pui." What struck me was that they conversed primarily in English, making their hurtful comments clearly audible.  My initial instinct was to ignore their comments, hoping that they would move on. However, more of their friends joined them, and the conversation turned even more unsettling. They continued with racial slurs directed at Chinese people and recounted an encounter with Chinese police officers before coming to the playground. According to them, Malay police officers treated them more favorably. I attempting to discern their facial expressions in the dimly lit playground, but it proved challenging due to the darkness and their roughhousing/friendly wrestling with each other.  One of them inquired amongst themselves whether my friend and I could hear their offensive remarks, to which another individual callously replied, "Of course they can, but the 'cina babi' won't dare to do anything, and even if they did, it's free speech. I noticed at least one of them just staring at me all the time.  As I was certainly angry, I pondered(DAM LONG) and felt it was wisest to move to a different spot away from the playground, away from the group that was making these derogatory comments. The disturbing conversation continued in the background as we distanced ourselves, leaving me with two pressing questions.  Firstly, what were the rational options I had in that unsettling situation, and how could I have best responded to it?  My initial thought to react was to start recording and call them out but the size of one of em let me to reconsider my options to SIAM  Secondly, In Singapore, does the concept of free speech encompass derogatory racial slurs of the magnitude experienced during that incident?  Thank you for your time people!"
