Meme - Jarvis @jarvis_best: "Babe wake up new entry on the It's Not Happening meme just dropped"
"It's not happening -> It's a right-wing conspiracy theory -> It might be happening -> Maybe we can kill the people noticing it -> It is happening and it's good"
Josh Gerstein @joshgerstein: "At some point, the amateur effort to knock on doors of home daycares intersects with robust stand-your-ground laws"
Readers added context: "'Stand-your-ground laws remove the duty to retreat from a threat when a person is in a place they have a legal right to be. Knocking on the door of a supposedly public business does not constitute a threat, so stand-your-ground could not be invoked as a defense."

Thread by @DrewHolden360 on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "🧵THREAD🧵  The legacy media didn’t miss the Minnesota Somalian fraud story.  They actively dismissed it as made up, racist, or xenophobic.  Before the stories are quietly edited, I’ve got screenshots. ⤵️
I can’t believe this is real, but @AP basically did the Somalians-founding-America meme as a straight reported piece on how beneficial the community has been in Minnesota.  “Minnesota Somalis are as Minnesotan as tater-tot hotdish,” @CNN (Dec 7)... Trump’s attempt to combat fraud is depicted by @NBCNews as “xenophobic.”  No mention of the multibillion dollar scam the community was perpetrating. This just isn’t journalism. It’s hackery.  @TIME dedicated a whole section in a piece about the connection between Somalis and fraud allegations to how “Democrats have condemned the accusations targeting Somalis.”  Maybe now would be a good time to revisit them?? A side note of sorts: @NPR suggested (I think rightly, given what’s happened) that the large Somali community in Minnesota was in part there because of “the state’s welcoming social programs.”  Maybe a little more reporting on that was deserved?  The @washingtonpost took considerable pain to quote people who defended the Somali community in Minnesota, absent all evidence, against the supposedly “bigoted” immigration deployment by Trump.  That included the MN AG who failed to stop this outrage, @AGEllison. Rather than focus on the evidence we had of fraud in Minnesota in their “everything we know” piece, @Newsweek decided to highlight quotes about how Minnesota is “a well-run state” and how @GovTimWalz has supposedly “taken measures” to combat fraud. I wonder if @GovTimWalz still sees criticism over his handling of fraud as a “badge of honor”?  Or perhaps @politico would like a chance to update this piece lionizing him and @amyklobuchar amid their catastrophic handling of said fraud? Even in reporting meant to expose the fraud in Minnesota, @nytimes couldn’t help but focus on how “challenging” this has all been for Somalian immigrants.  How about how bad this has been for American taxpayers?
But no outlet was worse than Minneapolis’s hometown paper, @StarTribune.  Perhaps it’s time to revisit this story? Seems the evidence is pretty clear now.  It was published two weeks ago.  But there were so many more @StarTribune attempts to write off the scandal, rather than, you know, reporting on the multibillion dollar fraud being committed.  Like this one, about how religious and other leaders were stepping in to “condemn Trump’s attacks.” Might there be a reason @GOPMajorityWhip would stick with Trump as the multibillion dollar fraud scandal was being confirmed? @StarTribune I purchased a four-week subscription to @StarTribune to go through this coverage and let me tell you my eyes are more angry at me for subjecting them to this “reporting” than even my wallet is. The editorial board at @StarTribune did the Norm Macdonald meme. As the scandal has been headline focus for people interested in stopping fraud, @StarTribune has instead focused on lionizing Rep. Ilhan Omar for her “defiance” against Trump.
Also this defense, that only individuals are to blame, not whole communities, is just very rich given how these outlets have talked about white people.   This type of scandal, involving the theft of BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars, can’t survive as long as it did without help from major parts of the community involved.  It seems obvious that the legacy press — and @StarTribune in particular — are culpable in that as well. And there are plenty of other states where enormous amounts of money are being siphoned off by fraudsters. California is a good example:
I’m sure most of you have, but if you haven’t seen this video of @nickshirleyy doing what journalists across these outlets (and the state of Minnesota) should have — checking in on these supposed nonprofits — you should watch it. There’s surely more fraud to be uncovered. Hopefully Congress and the Trump admin will keep kicking the tires in Minnesota and beyond.  These defensive headlines, I suspect, will only look worse in the future than they do today. As @TomBevanRCP called out this morning, instead of revisiting their awful coverage or attempting to do the job of real journalists, @StarTribune is instead…cheerleading for Walz’s reelection. But @StarTribune working so hard to bury this fraud story shouldn’t surprise us.  Their publisher, Steve Grove, came to the paper from Walz’s cabinet, having served as his commissioner of — I swear I’m not making this up — “employment and economic development.” A partisan publisher using the veneer of a newspaper to try to bury a career-defining corruption story about his former boss, as said old boss runs for reelection.  Want to know what’s wrong with the legacy media?  Just look at @StarTribune.  Also, important context from @shipwreckedcrew: it wasn’t just Minnesota tax payers who got ripped off.  These were, in many cases, federal programs.  Wherever you live, your tax dollars were part of this scam. Again. There’s no way this kind of massive fraud is unique to just Minnesota.  Every state should be subject to this kind of investigation. Particularly those with hundreds of billions of dollars given to NGOs... Instead of addressing the fraud, @StarTribune is hard at work trying to undercut real reporting from @christopherrufo and @rk_thorpe about said fraud — and failing.  Their “key source” lied to them (as their reporting eventually made clear) AND stood by his original claims.  Wtf"

Tom Bevan on X - "Still no coverage in NYT, WaPo, CNN, or Minneapolis Star-Tribune of massive fraud being uncovered in Minnesota. The media's willingness to ignore stories that hurt Democrats is truly astonishing."

Western Lensman on X - "MSNOW finally mentions the exploding MN fraud scandal — as a pretext to attack the Trump administration and conservatives. NYT’s Mara Gay: “[The Somali] community is being scapegoated in a way that serves the far right." Of course this is what they went with. Of course it is."

Autism Capital 🧩 on X - "TIM WALZ: “The majority of crime is committed by White Men. It’s crime in general. We need to be educating the population…Medicaid fraud will stretch across ALL racial demographics and ethnic groups. I think you can’t blame the Somali community.” WOW."
Left wingers only understand per capita when it makes white people look bad

Footage from Minnesota day care center shows parents pretending to drop kids off - "Shocking unearthed video from a 2018 state fraud case shows Minnesota parents dropping their children off at a day care center and then leaving with the kids moments later — as authorities probe a rampant billion-dollar fraud scheme in Minneapolis...   The clips — which were recorded in 2015 but only came to light in 2018 — resurfaced amid outrage sparked by a viral video from independent journalist Nick Shirley that showed multiple child care centers in Minnesota that had received millions in state funding despite appearing inactive... Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has come under fire for other alleged scams involving Medicaid-funded disability schemes, including a housing program that helps seniors and disabled people find and move into housing.  The scams have been largely tied to Minnesota’s migrant Somali community."

Footage from Minnesota day care center shows Somali parents pretending to drop kids off : r/NewsWorthPayingFor - "This entire comment section is filled with whataboutisms 😂"
"I’ve heard ppl say “IDC if the gov is being scammed by Somalis, I care about $ that goes to Israel”"
"Walz has already called the investigations and accounts that it’s mostly Somalis (which it is) “white supremacy”. Budgets being blown up by billions in waste from everyday citizens is genuinely existential for states. I totally get not wanting to support Israel - I too rather they get absolutely zero aid - but aid to Israel is survivable. The extent of mass fraud in a state can have massive repercussions on their economy going forward. Also at least some of the war “aid” is the US economy actually producing real tangible things. This Somali situation is outright fraud where money is just being sent and siphoned off with no services being rendered at all"

Benny Johnson on X - "This may be the single most damning exposé ever produced by an independent journalist. In one video, Nick Shirley exposed over $100M in Minnesota Somali fraud, funneled through fake daycares and healthcare fronts. What he uncovered is staggering:
- Quality Learning Center (misspelled sign): Licensed for 99 kids. $1.9M in 2025, $4M total. Appeared abandoned.
- Future Leaders Early Learning Center: Licensed for 90 kids. $6.67M over two years. Completely empty.
- Mako + Mini Child Care: Licensed for 120 kids combined. $4.6M over three years.
- ABC Learning Center: Licensed for 40 kids. $3M over three years. Inactive.
- Centers trace back to the same people, pointing to a coordinated operation of fake services.
- Staff refused questions and couldn’t explain where the kids were.
- One building alone had 22 healthcare or autism service entities registered
- One day. Over $110M in taxpayer payments tied to the locations he visited.
The video has already surpassed 40 million views and continues to climb.  Government officials are taking notice, with even Elon Musk calling for Tim Walz’s prosecution  All it took was one man and a camera to expose what the state either ignored or allowed. If officials weren’t complicit, this would have been stopped long ago.  Now all eyes are on Minnesota.  It’s time for action.  Well done @nickshirleyy"

CBS News on X - "A recent video by conservative YouTuber Nick Shirley alleged nearly a dozen day care centers in Minnesota that are receiving public funds are not actually providing any service. After the video went viral, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced a "massive investigation on childcare and other rampant fraud" in the state.  CBS News conducted its own analysis of nearly a dozen day care centers mentioned by Shirley: all but two have active licenses, according to state records, and all active locations were visited by state regulators within the last six months. CBS News' review also found dozens of citations related to safety, cleanliness, equipment, and staff training, among other violations, but there was no recorded evidence of fraud."
Stephen L. Miller on X - "What you notice about this clip that is different than Shirley is that Shirley is going door to door, showing you the businesses, knocking on doors, and filming the interactions. Here's a corporate CBS News journalist, just showing you himself, and telling you to take his word for it, as opposed to doing the door knocking Shirley is doing.  This is just vanity "take my word for it" journalism.   @bariweiss"

Melissa Chen on X - "All the criticism from NPR, CNN and CBS is focused on undermining Nick Shirley's credibility, but the fact remains that he is a journalist in the old-school tradition:   He goes to where the story is (which is often dangerous); he asks questions; he records and he reports the answers.   Traditionally, journalism was a blue-collar job that didn't require formal education and fancy pedigrees. The job involved long hours, low pay, and direct engagement with everyday people and events, attracting working class individuals that would pound the pavement for scoops and cover local beats like crime or corruption or labor disputes.   Sound familiar?   Yeah, it sounds like what @nickshirleyy  did to bring you that video on Somali daycare centers in Minnesota.  The legacy media seems motivated to not do their job - which isn't just to investigate but also to sell the story to the American public. This is what they failed at presumably because they didn't like the implications. Instead, these pretentious twats are training their focus and energy on discrediting Nick.  Journalism has over the years become an impenetrable caste dominated by upper-middle-class or trust fund kids who graduated from elite institutions with powerful social connections. These days, it's a white collar job that attracts more intellectual academic types who live and work in fancy buildings in prestigious cities.  This is why all the critiques and hit pieces from the credentialed journos emphasize Shirley's outsider status, labeling him a "YouTuber" or "MAGA journalist" rather than a peer, and contrasting his shock-value, prankish style with "good investigative journalism" which is of course what *they* do.  They can't help themselves but gatekeep their profession, dismissing self-made creators like Shirley as lacking legitimacy, even when his work sparks real probes or highlights underreported stories. Not only are they reluctant to pursue the truth (since it clashes with a narrative they so badly want to believe), they're also lashing out because it's a huge threat to their ego and authority.  The elite snobbery couldn't be more obvious."

Andy Ngo on X - "Minnesota’s woke newspaper, the Minnesota Star Tribune, sent reporters to the 10 publicly-funded Somali day cares that @nickshirleyy  visited to try to run cover for them.  But instead they found six of them closed or non-responsive, and at least seven had records of being cited up to dozens of times for safety violations. Four facilities had prepared themselves for liberal journalists by having Somali children inside."
I still see left wingers pretending that Nick Shirley was an idiot because he went to a daycare at a time when it was closed, and that there was no problem there.

Jonatan Pallesen on X - "Even without fraud, why would you give billions of dollars for Somalis to live in the U.S. and babysit other Somalis?  Here in Denmark, there likely is not as much fraud. But we still spend $25,000 net per Somali every year. Over a lifetime, this adds up to more than a million dollars on average for every single Somali immigrant.  Why would we want to use taxpayer money this way?  I do not have a strong desire to have more Somalis here in my country, even if I did not have to pay extra taxes for it.  And I definitely would not want to pay a million dollars in order to have one more Somali immigrant live here.  But this is what the state is forcing us taxpayers to do.  In the U.S., there are lower welfare expenses but higher fraud expenses. So the overall average expense for every single Somali immigrant may be similarly absurdly high.  Why would you want this?"
Henry Rockford on X - "The reason is that the activist class that controls government bureaucracies, media, universities etc prioritizes the interests of historically impoverished identity groups above almost anything, and certainly above being fair to white Europeans.   The activist class is actively in favor of both white replacement in Europe/North America and the reallocation (theft) of wealth from white to non-white people, regardless of which white people, and regardless of the pretext required."

America's wokest prosecutor has cheek to slam Trump ICE raids after her office freed Somali 'serial rapist' - "America's wokest prosecutor slammed Donald Trump for unleashing ICE 'strike teams' on Somalis in Minnesota after the feds charged a 'serial rapist' immigrant freed by her office.  The Trump administration has honed in on the state and deployed nearly 100 immigration officers to Minneapolis-Saint Paul earlier this month after a massive Somali fraud scandal under Governor Tim Walz's leadership was unveiled.  Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty released a video in response to the crackdown, denying the existence of Somali gangs around the Twin Cities.  'There are no roving gangs of Somali people in this community, harassing, threatening, doing anything to any of our community members. Let me repeat that again because I've heard this often,' she said.  'There are no roving gangs of Somalis targeting or harassing or doing anything inappropriate to any community members. Those are simply lies. It is not true.'  Moriarty seemingly insisted that there has been no wrongdoing by gangs Somali immigrants in Minnesota and vowed not to assist ICE... federal prosecutors recently charged a Somali national with raping a minor in addition to multiple adult women after Moriarty's office gave him a plea deal that avoided prison time.  Abdimahat Bille Mohamed, 28, was convicted of two separate rapes in May, including for the 2017 sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl and a 2024 sexual assault, but was only sentenced to probation due to his deals with Moriarty's office.  While out on probation in September, federal prosecutors say he kidnapped and raped another woman while holding her hostage in a hotel for a week.  The complaint also accuses Mohamed of committing at least five sexual assaults between 2017 and 2025, including several gang rapes.  'This Somali national in Minnesota is charged with raping a minor and multiple adult women before being detained - only to be quickly released by a local court, after which he committed yet another rape,' Attorney General Pamela Bondi said.  'This horrific case illustrates how left-wing soft-on-crime policies and vetting failures put innocent people at dire risk. If Minnesota will not protect its own people, the Department of Justice will do it for them.'  Moriarty called the charges against Mohamed a 'political stunt' and claimed federal prosecutors are not prioritizing the safety of victims... This year, she let a woke serial Tesla vandal off with keying six cars and causing $21,000 of damage, while pursuing murder charges against a cop who lawfully killed a suspect.   Moriarty declined to charge Minnesota Department of Human Services employee Dylan Adams, who was caught on camera vandalizing several Teslas, and allowed him to enter a diversion program and keep his taxpayer-funded job.  Meanwhile, she relentlessly tried to charge state trooper Ryan Londregan with murder and manslaughter for shooting dead Ricky Cobb II, a black man killed in July 2023 after he tried to drag the trooper's partner away during a traffic stop."

Thread by @GrageDustin on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "🚨 BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: We have uncovered records outlining an organized voter fraud scheme in the Somali Community here in Minnesota.  The county prosecutor declined to charge the case, but the Trump Administration needs step in to clean up Minnesota’s elections. 🧵
A Sherburne County election investigation documents a close operational relationship between St. Cloud City Council candidate Hudda Omar Ibrahim and Tajir Rage, an individual repeatedly identified by election officials as bringing groups of voters to polling locations while acting as an interpreter.  Election staff observed campaign materials for Hudda outside the Sherburne County Government Center, ballots marked only in her race, and consistent voting activity tied directly to Rage’s presence.  Investigators emphasized that these concerns were identified internally by election officials during routine election administration and ballot review, not raised by political opponents after the fact.  According to sworn interviews conducted as part of the investigation, election officials raised multiple red flags connected to this activity.  These included organized group voting, voters who did not appear to match their identification, and proof-of-residency documents that, while technically compliant, raised credibility concerns.  Officials specifically noted repeated use of lease agreements listing numerous common names and similar birthdates, many beginning with January 1st.  Election staff also estimated that Rage may have brought in more than 100 voters and expressed concern that many of those voters were not fully advised of the oath they were signing, raising questions about whether voters understood what they were certifying under penalty of law.  The investigation further documented a confirmed instance of double voting involving a voter associated with Rage, which constitutes a felony under Minnesota law.  Although prosecutors ultimately declined to file charges, citing an inability to prove criminal intent beyond a reasonable doubt, investigators concluded the activity appeared to reflect an ongoing pattern rather than an isolated mistake.  As a result, the case leaves unresolved questions about systemic weaknesses in Minnesota’s election safeguards, particularly where organized assistance, language barriers, and voter verification intersect.  Additional interactions documented by law enforcement reinforced those concerns. In one instance, a Somali woman who arrived in a van approached a deputy on foot and attempted to provide a Minnesota driver’s license while Tajir Rage was present.  The woman did not appear to speak English and repeatedly stated the city “Melrose,” a Minnesota city nearly an hour away from where the City Council race was taking place.  During the exchange, Rage spoke to the woman in Somali, after which she returned to the van. The deputy documented the interaction as raising residency concerns and included it as part of broader evidence suggesting individuals may have been brought into the area to vote in a race for which they were not eligible.  In another documented interaction, an investigator reported that after parting ways in a Government Center hallway, Podi, another Somali candidate on the ballot, called out and asked him to return.  Podi pointed toward the Auditor and Treasurer area and stated that the activity he had previously raised concerns about was still occurring at that moment and that he wanted it investigated.  When asked how he knew the activity was ongoing, Podi stated that there were Somalis voting and that he therefore knew it was associated with Tajir Rage.  The investigator recorded the statement as an accusation made in real time during the election, with Podi asserting that voter fraud was actively taking place as he was speaking.  Minnesota’s elections have long faced criticism nationwide, and the documents obtained in this investigation do little to restore confidence in the system.  If Minnesota Democrats are unwilling to address these vulnerabilities, the responsibility will fall to the Trump Administration to step in and ensure election integrity is enforced.  We anticipate further developments in this story, as additional documentation will be released. 🧵
Bussing voters:  The report shares a conversation with a woman Rage appears to have driven to the polling location. She could not speak English but repeated the city name “Melrose” multiple times, raising questions about residency. 🧵
50 Ballots and Campaign Materials:  Testimony alleging coordinated groups appeared at a voting location during a primary election, with campaign materials found outside and a stack of ballots reportedly marked only for a single candidate. 🧵
Double Voting:  Report of two separate ballots being cast by the same individual. 🧵
ID & Residency:  Election staff concerns about proof-of-residency documents and instances where voters accompanied by an organizer appeared not to match their identification. 🧵
Somali voter fraud:  In an interaction with law enforcement, a Somali candidate associated the activity with a specific organizer and requested an investigation on the basis that if Somalis were voting, it must be connected to Rage. 🧵"
Oilfield Rando on X - "Democrats allow Somalis to commit welfare fraud in exchange for Somalis engaging in election fraud. We all know it. They know it. Democrats are buying harvested ballots from foreigners with our tax dollars."

Wall Street Apes on X - "Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison admits the Somalians were imported to vote Democrat. He says they even go out to ballot harvest for Democrats and the Somalians are used in multiple states to swing elections for Democrats. Foreigners imported to steal our elections
Reporter “So can you tell us why the Somali communities are very important for the election?”
AG Keith Ellison “Well, the Somali community is critical. In my own election, I wouldn't be in office without the help of the Somali community.
Somali voters came out in very large numbers and were able to register people to vote. — I think there were several thousand Somalis who were just naturalized as U.S. citizens.   Somalis can make a huge impact on this election. And I can tell you without a doubt it's not just in Minnesota that Somalis are a big, make a big difference in the election
- Also in Ohio, which is a battleground state. - Somalis that are in Columbia, or Columbus, Ohio
- And in Virginia All have a role an opportunity to play a very big role in this election.”
“We believe that the Somali community is a critical, plays a critical role, not just in Minnesota, but in Ohio and in Virginia. And so call your relatives out there so we can get them to the polls.”"
Elon Musk on X - "The Somalis and many other groups were imported, given government handouts and allowed to do fraud without prosecution in order to ensure that a Democrat would win the election in that district."

Threads - "Remember when Tim Walz bragged during the VP debate that Minnesota was "the best in the nation on childcare" and that he was "making it easier to get into that business"? Yeah... that aged like a fish head lost behind the sofa."

Collin Rugg on X - "NEW: MN Department of Children commissioner Tikki Brown claims the Quality Learing Center closed down last week, which explains why there were no children when Nick Shirley visited. Today, however, the Quality Learing Center was packed with kids. The New York Post reports the children were "trucked" in, with one local saying it was the first time they had seen kids go into the building.  They need to coordinate next time before they try to cover up a crime."
