Deputy police chief in Durham Region suspended over 'racially inappropriate term' - "A high-ranking police officer east of Toronto has been suspended after allegedly using a racially inappropriate term. Durham regional police say an unnamed deputy chief used offensive language during a meeting of the service's Afro-Caribbean Canadian Internal Support Network. Chief Peter Moreira says the language was not directed at anyone but that they "recognize the impact words can have, regardless of intent.""

A silent message to people like me: The nurses scared to visit homes with flags - "“When I drive into a street full of St George’s flags, it doesn’t look festive. It feels charged,” says Neomi Bennett, 52, an NHS and private nurse. “They’re intimidating, rather than welcoming. They make me instantly alert. I don’t feel safe. It’s like I’m being watched.” Bennett has been working as a nurse for 14 years, visiting people’s houses to deliver care in South East England. As a black woman, she has sadly experienced racism numerous times over her career. But in recent months, with the rise of St George’s flags appearing all over high streets and houses in the UK, it feels even worse."
Imagine hating your country's flag so much
Good luck if you are scared by Palestinian or Trans Pride flags
Time to go on about "white fragility"

bumbadum on X - "The left is essentially comprised of two groups almost entirely divided on race. You have The Whites and The Others. The White liberals are a people that are entirely disconnected from reality, they are the midwit IQ, high EQ, empathy driven feminine. This group is broken up between the boomers and the young.
The boomers have never lived in any real world, everything was handed to them on a silver platter and are now incredibly wealthy from their pensions and live off the backs of the young in their utopian communist existence. They live in taxpayer funded gated communities, donate to their favorite NGOs, and everything is done with the consideration of getting the most approval at their dinner parties. This is why all the protests are always filled with the old, they have nothing better to do and are paid to be the gerontocratic class of the republic.
The young are the new generation of patronees. These are people, similarly never experienced the real world. They're the "burnt out gifted kid" that went straight from highschool to college, which never should've happened. They weren't "smart enough" for college and never had the internal drive to simply force themselves into competence. They have "imposter syndrome" in every room they enter, so they see a therapist to cope.
Much of the anger and resent within liberals is a childish temper-tantrum as a result of poor stationing. Eventually the young realize that they actually aren't competent at anything technical or meaningful so they find their passion "helping people" in the empathy markets. They work for a non-profit as a "public service" so after 10 years their 150k of student is forgiven. Then once that's done they become a "director of human services" at some alphabet group, they don't do anything but they make 150k because a leftwing donor needed a write off. Both groups have never seen a criminal, they've never talked with someone who has dealt with the minds of criminals. The closest thing they get to a real world interaction with someone outside of their bubble is when they get fast food and their order is inevitably wrong. That didn't happen 15 years ago when McDonalds was staffed by English speaking White kids. But that can't be why, they'll tell themselves it's because they're not paid enough.
Nothing I've written here is new, the champagne bourgeoisie left is likely the most documented phenomena of the past century. What feels new though is the mass exposure of what the empathy class exists to facilitate. Which is the funding and patronage of The Others.
The Others are exactly that. It has an endless list of names mimicking a Lovecraftian nightmare of human mass and destruction. BIPOCAAIPLGBTQA reads like an eldritch horror worshipped by cultists. The languages the mass speaks, from mandarin to soomali sounds like a cacophony of violence and chaos. This class of 3rd world human biomass hell bent on destroying the normal, good and beautiful, is entirely sustained on nothing but fraud and crime. It's now undeniable that after the great Kenyan was elected, he opened the floodgates with his namesake, an evil incantation that lead this nation on a path of economic suicide. The mass is an all consuming beast that now, inarguably has totally defrauded this nation to the point of insolvency. All of this was facilitated by the patronees and funded by the patrons. The patronees, the deluded empathetic morons, see this disgusting pile of biomass and place a skin suit upon it. Their new moral frameworks where it is better to be damned forever than to be shunned at the dinner party requires them to do so. Their better nature wants to believe that the biomass is like them. That the monster who rapes a child deep down is like them, that the gangbanger dealing death through drugs is a victim of circumstance, not a glad participant in the symphony of chaos. Their infamiliarity with the mass allows them to do so. Their economic disconnect from the beast is imperative to maintain the infamiliarity. The patrons are the emissaries of chaos and entropy. There is no better world, there is no vision, there is no beauty. There is only the zero sum game, and the inconceivable horror they summoned to win it."

Cash for the past? Why Evanston’s reparations program misses the mark - "Evanston, Illinois, made history in 2021 by enacting the country’s first race-based reparations plan for past housing discrimination against Black residents. Since the program began, the city has issued about 40 payments each year to qualified residents. Last year, the city issued 45. This time around, the number is 44, for a total of about $4 million. Yet regardless of how many checks Evanston sends out, the effect will be, at best, merely symbolic. At worst, it is muddled, confused and likely illegal. This year, Evanston will send $25,000 payments to 44 Black residents and descendants of Black residents who lived in the city between 1919 and 1969. The program, funded primarily through a city real estate transfer tax, is intended to address the legacy of housing discrimination in Evanston — a city that, like much of the nation, enforced restrictive covenants and other barriers that prevented Black residents from buying homes. While rooted in a desire to correct past wrongs, the plan raises significant constitutional, practical and moral concerns. At its core, the Evanston program is race-specific, providing benefits solely to Black residents who meet narrow historical criteria. This raises an obvious legal question: Can the government dole out money based on race? Critics have already flagged the program as constitutionally questionable under the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment. Beyond legality, there is a broader question about fairness. The program compensates some individuals while excluding others who may face equal or even greater financial need. Wealthier Black residents in Evanston receive the same payments as those struggling economically, while low-income residents of other races receive nothing. Isn’t a poor White person more in need of that money? The structure of the program is also confused. While Evanston’s payments are framed around historical housing discrimination between 1919 and 1969, this period does not capture the full scope of systemic racial inequities. Restrictive housing practices existed both before and after that window. Yet the city has drawn an arbitrary line, oversimplifying a complex history into a single snapshot. It may be administratively convenient, but it’s not exactly thoughtful... the Evanston payouts go to those who were merely living in the city during the time discrimination took place, without regard to whether they personally suffered from it. And while past discrimination may have created obstacles to wealth accumulation, evidence also shows that many Black Americans have achieved upward mobility through their own efforts. The fact that 80% of Black Americans are middle class or higher weakens that point substantially. And what does it mean that Black Americans like my parents accomplished upward mobility without such help? What about the fact that being given equal opportunity — not simply a cash handout — was all they needed to give themselves and their children a better life? A $25,000 payment may provide temporary relief for some recipients, but investments in education, financial literacy and other community-building initiatives could provide more long-term benefits. These types of investments would be better than offering short-term individual relief. From a moral standpoint, too, the idea of placing a monetary value on past suffering is inherently insulting... This reparations program, and the idea of reparations in general, ignores the realities of contemporary America, where socioeconomic status — regardless of race — is the more salient issue."

My wife insists “we” are poly, but only she is. She also insists “we” are queer, but I am cis and straight. Who is the asshole here? : r/monodatingpoly - " Throwaway account. The mods at one of the main polyamory subreddits have apparently decided I am spam, so I am trying my luck here. My wife says “we” are poly. I say only she is, because I do not have any interest in dating or sleeping with anyone else. She also says “we” are queer, but I am cis and straight. She gets very mad that I won’t apply her labels to myself. Based on most people I’ve talked to, including the marriage counselor, I’m a selfish asshole for: (1) not calling my cishet ass “queer,” and (2) neither wanting to sleep with other people nor call myself polyamorous just because my wife does. I’m not sure what I was looking for on the other subreddit, maybe just hoping that I was unlucky to be dealing with an abnormally shitty group of poly poly-friendly people in my personal life. I am very aware that I sound bitter and defensive. That’s because I am. I’m fine with my wife going on dates with other people, I just don’t want to. I have no problem calling myself an LGBTQ ally, I’m just not LGBTQ. I don’t tell my wife what to call herself, and at minimum I would hope that she’d extend the same courtesy to me. So yes, I am more than a little annoyed that she’s not even doing the minimum here. I’m not to the point where divorce makes sense for me yet. I hope it doesn’t get there because we haven’t even lived in this fucking city for five years and I’d rather not have to move again so soon."

When virtue-signalling goes wrong - spiked - "Rainbow zebra crossings have spread like an unsightly rash across the world. When one first appeared in the town in which I live, opinion was divided. Well-meaning straight people enthused about ‘inclusivity’ while others harrumphed about ‘PC gone mad’. As for those who were supposed to be represented by the rainbow, most of us were somewhere between bemused and embarrassed – the overwhelming response was ‘why?’. It’s hard to fathom what issue these gaudy stripes are supposed to address. Do local councils and highways agencies believe that special provision needs to be made to allow sexual minorities to walk across roads? Perhaps they imagine that, like hedgehogs, our only defence against the scourge of heteronormative traffic is to curl up into squishable balls. In Canada – an early adopter of rainbow crossings – skid marks from car tyres were investigated as potential hate crimes against the LGBTQ ‘community’. The BBC reported that a rainbow crossing had been ‘smeared with burnt rubber’. Presumably similar incidents at black-and-white zebra crossings will now be considered racially aggravated offences. A scheme in the German town of Hanau took things further. Local-council officials created ‘diversity’ parking spaces in an underground car park for migrants and LGBTQ people. City councillor Thomas Morlock said the idea was to help people who feel ‘a special need for protection’. Thankfully, users will not be required to carry papers to confirm their migration status or LGBTQ identity when using the spaces. The drive to parade inclusive values goes beyond simple rainbows. In 2016, 50 traffic lights around Trafalgar Square in London were replaced with symbols to celebrate diverse sexual orientations and gender identities. Although conceived of as a temporary measure for Pride, they have remained in place ever since – presumably removing them might constitute a hate crime. But it turns out, there are large portions of the population for whom these apparently well-intentioned initiatives mean exclusion from public space. Last month, the disability-advocacy group, Access Association, wrote to UK transport secretary Grant Shapps to highlight the dangers posed ‘to disabled people, older people and children’ by painting rainbows across roads. The Access Association explained that the replacement of black-and-white pedestrian crossings ‘may lead to people’s loss of independent travel and increased social isolation’. It cited the example of visually impaired people, saying: ‘We are concerned about the impact of colourful crossings on assistance dogs. The inconsistency of design will make training very difficult.’ Those with dementia, autism and neurological conditions were also mentioned as groups likely to be impacted by the multicoloured crossings. But let’s face it, disabled, visually impaired and elderly people just aren’t seen as fashionable causes – they don’t even have a flag. Corporations don’t fight to cover themselves in logos for Alzheimer’s awareness, nor do they sponsor floats for disability pride. While organisations like Transport for London are flying rainbow flags, it’s still the case that there are just 50 stations where someone in a wheelchair can access trains unassisted. Disability and ageing are arguably far greater barriers to social inclusion than your choice of intimate partner or gender identity. But creating accessible, inclusive spaces for disabled people requires more investment than a lick of paint and a media release. Let’s be honest, the reason many straight people and local councils latch on to all things Pride is because it is a social shorthand – a way to show how open-minded they are about sex and sexuality. The fad for the rainbow is a heterosexual peacock’s tail, a way to attract a mate – a mate who will most likely be of the opposite sex. For all the cooing about inclusivity, rainbow crossings are a dangerous and unnecessary fad. Road markings exist to make sure that people know what is expected of them and are kept safe. The crass politicisation of public space threatens to undermine public safety, and further exacerbate existing social fissures. Rather than bringing people together, rainbow crossings draw attention to what divides us."
Too bad useless virtue signalling on behalf of LGTBQ+ people is more important than not making the lives of blind and other disabled people difficult

vittorio on X - "Helen is obviously right. the feminization of institutions is what led to wokeness, and this is close to impossible to fix at this point but this was phase one. the feminization of information is phase two. text is masculine. sequential and logical, it requires sustained attention and rewards disagreement and debate. you can fact-check text and argue with it. text forces you to show your reasoning. images and video are feminine. emotional, immediate, contextual, consensus-building. you can't fact-check a vibe or argue with someone crying. visual media bypasses reason entirely and hits the limbic system directly. look at what's winning. tiktok. reels. shorts. brainrot. goonslop. the entire internet is pivoting from text (debate) to video (feeling). the medium that rewards reasoning is dying. the medium that rewards emotion is taking over. this is selection pressure. the people who thrive in text environments (disagreeableness, logic, tolerance for conflict) get pushed out (that's why 4chan was the last fort during covid). the people who thrive in visual environments (agreeableness, emotional attunement, consensus-seeking) take over. the ethics of care is capturing the information layer itself and once you lose the information layer, you lose the ability to even discuss what's happening. here's where it goes: cultures that accept this feminize completely, reason becomes offensive, truth becomes fascist, disagreement becomes violence, policy becomes feelings. birth rates collapse because feelings don't model second-order effects and family formation requires planning past the immediate emotional state. cultures that reject this (religious conservatives, certain immigrant populations, societies that kept women offline or out of institutions) keep having children. whichever population keeps reproducing inherits the future. the feminized cultures don't and will get replaced. slowly at first, then all at once. what i think is the only way to solve this is coordinated pro-family, pro-marriage, pro-fertility propaganda. not ideal, but women are currently captured by machines making them think that careers matter more than children and families, and they are now convinced of this. counter-signal or lose. give them something to do besides crying online the alternative is to watch the cultures that figured this out inherit everything your ancestors built"

The Woke Leftist-Islamic Identity Coalition Destroying the West - "A contradiction at the heart of modern Western politics reveals the intellectual bankruptcy of the woke intersectional left. This contradiction is not subtle, far from deniable, and by no means harmless. It exposes a growing threat to the very idea of a truly Western civilization. The same voices that erupt in outrage at the mere hint of Christian influence in public life now show remarkable comfort with the growing and public integration of Islamic identity, rhetoric, and even policy into governance. This is not tolerance. It is selective enforcement for political gain, dressed up as virtue. Consider the public branding of cities like New York and London as models of diversity and inclusion. These cities are praised for being wide open and resiliently tolerant toward LGBTQ+ people. Meanwhile, these same places have political leaders who openly center their Muslim identity in governance. That contradiction is not accidental. It is the product of a worldview that seeks to change Western societies by hook or by crook. In London, Mayor Sadiq Khan has explicitly framed housing policy to highlight the needs of Muslims, emphasizing proximity to mosques, access to halal food, and religious community life. On its face, that may sound like responsiveness to constituents. In practice, it signals something else: the enshrinement of Islamic identity politics in a government that claims to be secular. That normalization does not occur when Christianity is involved. When Christian communities advocate for faith-based considerations, they are accused of imposing theocracy. Khan’s administration has also supported expanded security funding and training specifically for mosques, aligning with a national scheme worth up to £29.4 million (roughly $40 million). Protecting citizens from violence is a legitimate function of government. But security is not the issue. The issue is the precedent. When faith-specific prioritization becomes embedded in governance for one religion while others are pushed out of public life entirely, the principle of neutrality collapses. The pattern continues in the handling of sensitive criminal issues. Critics, including members of Parliament and investigative reporters, have accused Khan of downplaying stories of rape gangs to avoid offending Muslim communities. Woke leadership, in other words, is willing to temper law enforcement in light of Islamic sensitivities. That is not public safety. That is leading lambs to their slaughter. Symbolism matters as well. Large-scale Islamic prayers in iconic public spaces, such as Trafalgar Square, have been embraced by London politicians as signs of inclusion. Supporters celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion. Critics rightly see something else: the redefinition of civic spaces as explicitly Islamic. When similar displays would provoke outrage if they were Christian, the double standard becomes impossible to ignore. Across the Atlantic, the same dynamic is unfolding. In New York City, Mayor Zohran Mamdani has leaned openly into his Muslim identity as a defining feature of his political persona, framing his leadership through a religious lens. His campaign saw a reported 60 percent surge in Muslim and South Asian voter turnout, driven in part by messaging that connected public policy to Islamic values. Housing, transit, and childcare were not just civic issues. They were presented as “Muslim issues.” This is a profound shift. It moves religion from the private sphere into the organizing framework of public policy. Mamdani has even invoked the Islamic concept of Hijrah (“migration”) when discussing his support for mass immigration and sanctuary city policies, drawing direct parallels to the life of the Prophet Muhammad. That is not mere cultural expression. It is theology embedded in public policy. The alliances surrounding this movement are equally telling. Mamdani’s associations with figures like Imam Siraj Wahhaj and organizations such as the Muslim Democratic Club position Islamic identity as political capital. His strong alignment with pro-Palestinian activism and the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement reflects a broader “Red-Green” coalition, where leftist ideology merges with Muslim identity politics—or even outright Islamism. This coalition is not accidental. It is just as intentional as it is ideological. The term “regressive left,” popularized by the former Islamist Maajid Nawaz, describes a movement that abandons its alleged universal liberal values for identity-based, bloc-power politics. Figures like Bill Maher and Sam Harris have convincingly argued that this mindset defends illiberal practices, yet precious few lefty politicians, public intellectuals, or activists seem to care. When associated with minority groups, especially Muslims, the purportedly tolerant left embraces behavior that it otherwise deplores. If similar behavior was perpetrated by white Christians, it would be opposed with howls, boycotts, and, in all likelihood, violence. At the core of woke dogma is intersectionality, a framework that ranks groups by perceived oppression. Christianity, as the historically dominant Western theology, is cast as a rival source of power, which makes it inherently “oppressive.” Therefore, it is a target for dismantling or subversion. On the other hand, Islam is exalted as an “oppressed” identity and granted deference. Muslims are not simply left alone to engage with their faith but are aggressively used as a bulwark against Western traditionalism. This is why Christian expressions in public life are labeled as dangerous, while comparable Islamic expressions are celebrated as inclusive. Mass immigration, academic radicalization, and social media amplification are accelerating this trend. A horrifyingly viable coalition has been formed. It prioritizes raw, destructive, third-world power over time-honored, productive, Western principles. This is a serious problem that is not going away. The West is now facing a test"
