Europe CNY 2012
Day 5 - 23rd January - Cambridge
I've decided to reduce the number of photos I post, sacrificing perfectionism for faster load times (and hopefully finally finishing my travelogues).
My moving to NGNBN has also increased upload speeds. I will also be more ruthless about publishing travelogue entries, even if they push older posts out of the way (e.g. 4 hours ago there was a post on Nice Guys) or otherwise (e.g. Day 4 was just posted, but I'm quite free and am in the mood right now).
Hopefully all of these will speed output. Perhaps I can even stay less than a year ahead of my travels.
The rest can be found on Facebook for those on my friends list anyway.
(See also Day 4 - Cambridge, posted just a short while ago)
Tomatoes on the vine!

"Golden Pizza" - a Chinese takeout selling Pizza
For Breakfast I had a baguette sandwich from Dorrington's but it wasn't crusty, boo.

Harry & Borris
Are these sauces particularly Malaysian?
Note the Korean-Japanese-Chinese character conversion chart and trilingual signs. Notice what language these signs are not in.
FAIL English teacher/proofreading ad. Note how she didn't bother to update her location after the first mention, and note the English mistakes.
For lunch we went to a Turkish Restaurant. We were there for on the first day, so we profited from a 50% discount!!! At £8,75 the food was excellent value - and the best Turkish food I'd ever had to boot.
Combination kebab platter, mixed mezes, organic homemade bread
Their grill and their meat selection
Exterior of the Turkish place "Tulip"
Credit Crunch Cat
Al Amin (Muslim Grocer) mission statement: they don't sell cigarettes because they are harmful (in "when taken in small or larger quantities"). I don't think they sold stuff with transfat either - everything was of Kualiti make,
"Sweet 'N' Spicy. Specialist in Pakistani Halal Cousine"
I hope their food is not sweet (I doubt Pakistani food is). And I hope they don't serve up their female cousins.
Free dumplings - if you understand Chinese characters
Field
"We're going on a Bear Hunt" and other concerts
I went for Evensong at King's College Chapel again. This time I was early so I got to sit inside the choir screen, and the sound was indeed different. On the flip side, sitting at the choir area meant I could hear mistakes.
Pret-a-manger opens for really long
King's Parade
King's Parade: Falungong Protest
King's Parade & Falungong protest at the bottom left. On the right is some "1679" building
Annular Solar Eclipse tour
"Pain aux raisin" and "Latté". Gah. They screw up two languages at once.
I think I took this because pizzas are cheap
Boris and Harry on bed
Halal Golden Buddha - which serves pork (I doubt they have separate food preparation spaces so they probably mean their non-pork meat is Halal-certified)
Supper - prawn toast!
