No more Thai hunks at Tanglin restaurant from May 3 to 5 due to 'rejected entry' into S'pore - "Sathanee Mee Hoi, a popular restaurant in Bangkok, is collaborating with Mr Mookata to open Mr Mookata Plus, a Thai barbecue joint in Singapore.  For those who are unfamiliar with Sathanee Mee Hoi, the eatery is known for its hunky and scantily clad male staff.  As part of its grand opening, four Thai hunks were slated to appear at the new restaurant from May 3 to 5.  Unfortunately, that won't happen anymore.  According to a May 2 message from Mr Mookata Plus, the Thai hunks were "rejected entry" into Singapore due to "unforeseen circumstances".  As of 3:20pm, the Thai hunks had already taken their flight back to Thailand...   Mr Mookata Plus mentioned that there will still be more than 10 "Singapore hunks"."

Thai Hot Guys denied entry into S’pore a day before their new restaurant opens in Phoenix Park - "Why were the four main hunks denied entry into Singapore? After all, they’ve performed in Singapore twice last year at Mr Mookata’s Bugis outlet without incident. The eatery’s distressed manager (who declined to be named) tells 8days.sg over the phone: “I don’t know the details. I’m in the same position [as everyone else], we just found out that they were rejected entry to Singapore”."

Alicia Witt's Parents' Cause of Death Revealed - "The cause of death for Robert Witt, 87, and Diane Witt, 75, was "probable cardiac dysrhythmia" due to the cold... the couple was apparently having problems with their furnace and had been using a space heater.  At the time, a neighbor told the local outlet that Robert and Diane were believed to be ill for some time and refused offers from neighbors to help with their home falling in "disrepair." Neighbors did help to mow the Witt lawn and clear snow, the neighbor stated."

Study: Sex in Movies Has Declined Sharply - "A study by film data analyst Stephen Follows cited by The Economist that tracked sex and nudity in major live-action films — with each instance ranked on a scale from “none” to “severe” — found the level of sex content in cinema has fallen by almost 40 percent. The number of films with no sexual content at all has risen from 20 percent per year to roughly 50 percent. On the other hand, some of the scenes that are shown in movies nowadays are more graphic than what was permitted in the past. Examples cited include erect penises (in movies like May December) and characters performing oral sex while their partners were menstruating (Saltburn, Fair Play).   In case you’re wondering, the research also tracked the amount of drugs, violence and profanity in films. Profanity and drugs have slipped a bit since around 2014 or so, but are still near their previous highs. Violence dropped off a bit around the same time, but in the last few years has rebounded to be as commonplace as ever.  A previous casual study conducted last year by a Playboy writer found that the number of films on IMDb since 2010 that contain depictions of sex is the lowest since the 1960s.   The research follows a UCLA study last year that found Gen Z wants to see less sex in movies and TV. A slight majority (51 percent of the 1,500 surveyed) said they wanted to see more content about platonic relationships and friendships. While 47.5 percent said sex “isn’t needed” for most TV shows and movies, 44 percent felt romance is “overused.”   Studies have found Gen Z is having less sex in real life as well"

In a secret Paris cavern, the real underground cinema - "Police in Paris have discovered a fully equipped cinema-cum-restaurant in a large and previously uncharted cavern underneath the capital's chic 16th arrondissement.  Officers admit they are at a loss to know who built or used one of Paris's most intriguing recent discoveries...  a tunnel held a desk and a closed-circuit TV camera set to automatically record images of anyone passing. The mechanism also triggered a tape of dogs barking, "clearly designed to frighten people off," the spokesman said.  Further along, the tunnel opened into a vast 400 sq metre cave some 18m underground, "like an underground amphitheatre, with terraces cut into the rock and chairs".  There the police found a full-sized cinema screen, projection equipment, and tapes of a wide variety of films, including 1950s film noir classics and more recent thrillers. None of the films were banned or even offensive, the spokesman said.  A smaller cave next door had been turned into an informal restaurant and bar. "There were bottles of whisky and other spirits behind a bar, tables and chairs, a pressure-cooker for making couscous," the spokesman said.  "The whole thing ran off a professionally installed electricity system and there were at least three phone lines down there."  Three days later, when the police returned accompanied by experts from the French electricity board to see where the power was coming from, the phone and electricity lines had been cut and a note was lying in the middle of the floor: "Do not," it said, "try to find us.""

I visited Egypt for a 'dream' holiday and it turned out to be the worst trip ever: 'I've never felt so uncomfortable' - "Grace Cheng, better known as @gracietravels, spent a week in northeast Africa visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza and other historical landmarks but felt unsafe the whole time.  Her holiday was ruined by 'aggressive' scammers lurking around 'everywhere' in attempt to rid innocent tourists of their money... 'Don't let anyone take a picture of you, don't let anyone put anything in your hand, and don't follow anyone if they have something to show you because they will demand money from you,' Grace continued.   She added how she 'didn't even feel safe' even with a tour guide by her side.   'Ours had a lot of friends in the area and they just kept offering us tons and tons of upgrades, like climbing a rock to get a picture with the background,' she said.   Gracie said it felt 'scary' when she refused to pay the scammers and they kept demanding money... Gracie also would not recommend travelling to Egypt alone, especially if you're a woman.  'When it comes to men they do stare at you, and it's not even a normal stare, it's one of those really uncomfortable stares where they'll never take their eyes off of you,' she said... Other travellers who have also visited Egypt before said they too never felt safe during their stay.    'I agree. I’ve traveled the world and Egypt has been the only country where I did not feel safe,' one wrote.   'I felt the same way visiting Egypt and Morocco,' another commented.   'I've seen so many videos of people saying Egypt is the worst place to visit. Which makes me sad, cause I want to see it someday,' a third added.   Another said: 'I'd love to go to Egypt but I've honestly not heard a good word about it.'"

Egypt Travel Nightmare!! Why I’ll Never Go Back!! - YouTube - "This place, there is no system here. There is no step by step. It's pure chaos and hierarchy. Layers and layers of people. Nobody knows what's going on...  there is an intense sense of paranoia and control that is wanting to be kept by certain people...  they're worried about me talking crap about the country. We came here to make food videos. They've given me a reason to want to talk crap about the country... they started picking out certain pieces of gear that they deemed suspicious based on their complete lack of knowledge of anything. Everyone's taking pictures of it. It's very dehumanizing... What is that? And I was like this what is this. It's a back roller. Why do you need this? Why do I need this? How about go, I go because I exercise and I like to roll up my back... They took our gear and they said that they're gonna hold on to it until we can find a permit... we've been preparing for this trip for 10 weeks. Well before we got here, we applied for our permits. We weren't supposed to be shooting for two more days. The shooting is supposed to start today. Guess what? We finally got our permit yesterday. But now we can't get the police to give us our stuff back. They gave us a receipt. A receipt for the gear, that says that we have a weapon. What's the weapon? A walkie-talkie. That's a weapon. This is what i mean by stone age thinking...after four hours I'm told they cannot give me my equipment because it's been given to a different department and we need to hire some intermediary business to work with customs to get our shit back... A police officer is telling me what to delete. Based on what? On his feelings. Oh but what law did I break? None. Oh but there must be like a rule. Nope. No rule. This is what it's like to shoot in Egypt. And by the way this is somebody with a permit. When we asked our local producer what purpose did the permit have, he said, well, we're not in jail. Lovely country. This is why i have an obligation and a responsibility to tell you guys to not go to Egypt. This country earns 12 percent of its GDP through tourism and they treat tourists like trash. It would be something different if i was going to the Congo. Does Congo advertise themselves as a tourist-friendly destination? No. But Egypt does and they're anything but... In Egypt if you cross a checkpoint and they don't want you to go, they don't need to tell you why. There's no rule, there's no law. You just don't get to go. So we had to circle all the way around adding hours to our trip... and then something happened there which happened a lot in that country. The local people tried to stop us until we gave them money...  I have never been so relieved in my life to leave a country... I think a lot of people are naive about Egypt and they think, well it's a tourist country. They have this big massive tourist attraction. They would probably treat me like a tourist or at least be neutral, but these people were actively awful... I've been a travel host professionally for six years. I have filmed in over 25 countries. This is the first time I've ever recommended you not going somewhere"

Thread by @michaelharriot on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - " 7 years ago, I wrote a small piece about a man who was falsely accused of a crime.  A few days later, I got an anonymous telling me to look up the woman they called “the evilest white woman on earth.”  What happened next is the absolute wildest story you’ll ever hear  A thread The story begins in 2017, when an editor asked me to fill in for a coworker and do a quick write-up about Lamonte McIntyre, who spent 23 yrs in prison for a double murder he didn’t commit.  I thought it was weird his conviction wasn’t actually overturned... I would discover why this DA Terra Morehead was so evil.  She had been making up lies to lock Black men up FOR YEARS.  She & a corrupt police detective who ran a human trafficking ring (I’ll come back to that) basically made up the evidence on McIntyre. Then they threatened to take the children away from a 20-year-old Black woman who actually witnessed the double murder unless she fingered McIntyre  I found evidence that the woman told the Prosecutor that they had the wrong man MULTIPLE TIMES.  They made her do it... I also discovered why Morehead was so successful Y’all, this woman was SLEEPING WITN THE JUDGE.  Not just a couple of times.  They were in a secret relationship FOR 15 years! But she was as bad at lawyering as she was good as she was at prosecuting Black men.  But here’s the thing: There’s not a whole lot judges can (or are willing) to do when a lawyer is corrupt.  I found cases where judges essentially said “This bitch be lying” IN THEIR DECISION"

Derren Brown's guide to overcoming awkward situations - "Most of Brown's strategies involve behaving irrationally to disarm the other person...
How to handle aggressive situations
This is simply about not engaging with your aggressor at the level they expect. I was coming back from a hotel at about 3am one night and there was a guy in the street with his girlfriend. He was really drunk, clearly looking for a fight and he started kicking off at me. I had a routine ready in my head for this sort of situation and it worked a treat on this occasion. He asked me that typical aggressive rhetorical question — “Do you want a fight?” You can’t say “yes” or “no” — you’ll get hit either way. So, I responded with, “The wall outside my house is four-feet high.”      I didn’t engage at the level he was expecting me to, so immediately he was on the back foot. He came back with, “What?” and I repeated my bizarre response. I delivered the line in a completely matter-of-fact tone, as if he was the one who was missing something here. Suddenly, he was confused. All his adrenaline had dropped away, because I’d pulled the rug from under him. It’s the verbal version of a martial-arts technique called an ‘adrenaline dump’, whereby you get the person to relax before you hit them. A punch will have much greater impact if the recipient’s guard is down. I stuck to this surreal conversational thread with my assailant, saying things like, “I lived in Spain for a while and the walls are really huge, but in this country they’re tiny.” After a few of these exchanges, he just went, “Oh f*ck!” and broke down in tears. The guy had all this adrenaline and was on the point of really laying into me — I was seeing myself beaten to a bloody pulp — but these non-threatening nonsense statements broke that aggression down and he genuinely started crying. I ended up sitting next to him on the kerb, comforting him. It’s the same with guys that come up and ask to “have a look at your phone”, and you end up handing over your stuff and hating yourself for doing it — you can use the same approach. My PA had some stuff nicked in a Tube station recently, and I said to him, “If you’d just starting singing, they would have left you alone.”"

The surprising health benefits of dirt - "“Most infectious diseases – putting aside Covid – are far less common in the modern world than they were historically, whereas rates of chronic inflammatory disorders such as asthma and Crohn’s disease are rapidly increasing,” says Dr Neil McCarthy, a senior lecturer in immunology at Queen Mary University of London. “This is happening too quickly to be explained by genetics alone, so there must be other factors involved.”  Exposure to microbes (minute orgasms such as bacteria, that can’t be seen by the naked eye) are needed in early life to set up our immune system correctly, explains Dr McCarthy. “Otherwise our immune system struggles to tell the difference between the dangerous stuff and the harmless things in your environment. It’s possible that some important microbial signals are missing in today’s modern world, which may help explain some of the health problems we experience.” Here’s how you can increase your exposure to dirt to bolster your health... A healthy, resilient gut involves having a high microbial diversity, i.e. a high number of different species that are evenly spread across your gut microbiome. These various species of gut bacteria serve several important functions such as aiding in digestion, helping with the absorption and production of essential nutrients, and regulating our immune, metabolic and nervous systems.   In essence, the more diverse your gut bacteria are, the more potential they have to support all these functions. “Plenty of research shows that wild animals have more diverse microbial communities living on skin and inside their bodies, compared with animals kept in clean indoor environments,” says Dr McCarthy. “Their immune systems work very differently, and more effectively, as a result of that.”  He suggests that spending more time in nature could have similar benefits for humans... When you drop food do you employ the so-called “five second rule”, giving you licence to pick it up and eat it anyway? Top marks if so.   “Kids are constantly putting dirty stuff in their mouths and that may not be an entirely bad thing,” says Dr McCarthy. “Early life is a critical time for our immune system to learn which microbes are living in the world around us and how best to recognise them. This is about getting the balance right; living in filthy conditions is obviously not sensible but it’s also a bad idea to keep children totally ‘bug free’.” Researchers have found that the likelihood of asthma was reduced in children exposed to endotoxin, a major building block in many bacterial cell walls (i.e. their protective outer coat). These common ‘bits of bugs’ can build up in household dust (the microbes don’t have to be alive as our immune systems can still detect stuff they leave behind in the environment).  “Even some unpleasant infections such as measles and chickenpox (or vaccines against them) which make kids feel sick for a while, actually reduce their risk of nasty diseases including certain cancer types as adults,” says Dr McCarthy... Plants live in soil which is rich in diverse microbial species, so any form of interaction with plants is likely to increase your microbial biodiversity... You don’t need to go as far as milking a cow, but walking in fields where there are grazing animals is a good start... During the pandemic, many of us adopted germophobic levels of cleanliness. But curbing the instinct to reach for the disinfectant might be wise."

Little by little, the Government is seizing control of our great universities - "Our founders would be shocked to see the all-encompassing regulations emerging from the Office for Students (OfS), the higher education regulator in England which took over university regulation in 2018. There are 25 sets of regulations covering an enormous range of topics, including its current major foci, equality of opportunity and quality.  A private university like Buckingham, which doesn’t receive any direct government funding, has to satisfy all but three of these 25 sets of regulations – known as “Conditions of Registration” – even though ostensibly the regulations are to ensure taxpayer value for money. If a university is found to be in breach of any of these conditions, then the OfS has a variety of sanctions at its disposal, including removal of a university’s title and status, even if these were awarded through a venerable Royal Charter.  Take one of the “quality” conditions: The OfS will not be satisfied if a university is providing courses whose content or teaching methods are “not representative of current thinking and practices.” Isn’t that what universities are here to interrogate, discuss, and, where necessary, challenge? The OfS, “would expect to draw on expert academic judgement, including from subject experts, before reaching a view that the condition was not satisfied”. This is hardly consoling.  In case after case, whether it be that of the University of Sussex’s Kathleen Stock or the Open University’s Jo Phoenix, independently minded professors have gone against the prevailing “expert academic judgement” to question accepted wisdom, which is surely justifiable whether one agrees with the conclusions or not.  The regulator’s approach is a profound attack on the very nature of the growth of knowledge. How has science itself developed, if not through cussed individuals putting forward theories that completely went against the taken-for-granted status quo?  Or what about ensuring “a high quality academic experience”? The OfS seems clear that a faculty with only a few members having teaching qualifications, “is not likely to be appropriately qualified”. Yet until very recently, our greatest universities managed perfectly well recruiting academics without any teaching qualifications. It’s odd to think of the OfS unfavourably comparing Oxbridge or Imperial with a handful of post-1992 universities which, nationally, have the highest proportion of “qualified” staff. What business of the regulator is it to get involved in these areas? Private universities like Buckingham are exempt from one major area of regulation: other universities have to submit and implement an “Access and Participation Plan” which effectively sets out how they will increase the proportions of “underrepresented groups”. The OfS points out that social inequalities start well before university – but instead of drawing the conclusion that therefore universities are limited in what they can do about it, the regulator doubles down on its insistence that universities should intervene in schools.  Of course, universities can and should perform a whole range of outreach functions across local and global communities. This is part of their mission. But it is nonsensical and misguided for government to encourage its regulator to dictate the form that mission should take, and set about penalising them for failing to solve inequalities its own policies have failed to solve for generations. The University of Cambridge, for instance, following the regulator’s demands, succeeded in reducing the proportion of privately educated undergraduates in favour of those who went to state schools. Some readers may consider this a good outcome. But wouldn’t it be better if a university of Cambridge’s global standing could decide something like that for itself?  But it is even worse than this. As the Higher Education and Research Bill passed through the House of Lords in 2016/17, members from across the political spectrum argued that the greatness of our universities in large part is because of their “institutional autonomy”. Unlike our European counterparts, where faculty are civil servants and government calls the tune, all universities in England, not just those like Buckingham, are legally autonomous. The Lords’ amendments sought to protect that autonomy"

Links - 4th June 2024 (2 - Trans Mania)

Lorelei 🌕🧙🏻‍♀️🕸🍄 on X - "Violent men have always used trans activism to harm, silence and abuse women. Jane and Debbie’s full ‘Cassandra’ letter, from the April 1998 issue of feminist magazine “Off Our Backs” transcribed:
Dear off our backs,
A group of Feminists in Vancouver British Columbia, Canada met with the Human Rights Commissioner (who is a lesbian) and representatives of the Attorney General last night to discuss the proposed inclusion of “gender identity” in the Human Rights Code. It was a closed meeting, and not advertised. Still over 40 angry young women and transsexuals came to try and stop the meeting and/or disrupt it. It was angering and very sad to see all these young “queer” women attacking Feminists.   We managed to get the Meeting going and spent 3 hours telling the stories of transsexuals’ violence against individual women and Lesbians and against women's organizations. We told her of the Political consequences of her pursuing the change in the Human Rights Code - i.e. no more women-only space, no lesbian-only events; literally forcing us underground if we want to organize anything female-only. Women, girls and young Lesbians who desperately need contacts with and the support of women’s organizations having to tell their deepest secrets to “counselors” who are male. Men dressed as women and demanding to be let into women’s shelters as “women” only to try and get to the women they had battered and raped. Young Lesbians injecting themselves with male hormones, “wanting” to become male. Several lawsuits against women’s and Lesbian organizations are pending and eating up precious funding that should go to the women these organizations are working on behalf of…  A lesbian only event that was to take place next week had to be canceled, because of the real danger to the organizers and to the Lesbians who wanted to come.   The organizers received threats, were attacked by “queer” women and transsexuals and a big demonstration had been organized by a prominent Lesbian lawyer, to take place outside of the venue, protesting the “non-inclusion of transsexuals, bisexuals and others.” Most of us who went to the meeting have at one point or another been attacked, threatened and physically assaulted by “queer” Women and transsexuals who think we are “transphobic.” One women’s  organization that has been around for over 25 years is being threatened and might have to close… We could go on… We were women and Lesbians representing almost all the different communities here. The response was as we suspected it would be; well, transsexuals are oppressed as well, you know…and very little concern about the serious consequences this proposed legislation would have.   Please let women and Lesbians in your part of the world know about this outrage. We need support from the outside. So the fight goes on in times when male privilege and oppression of females are getting worse and worse and our sisters turn against us, and our organizations close, one after the other. We are afraid for us…
In the fight and in sisterhood as always.
Jane and Debbie"
When feminists get a taste of their own medicine. Ironic.

What America has got wrong about gender medicine - "FOR MANY Americans, the great tragedy of trans rights is the story of how Republican governors and state legislatures are stigmatising some of society’s most put-upon people... In a free society it is not the government’s place to tell adults how to live and dress, which pronouns to use, or what to do with their bodies... Broadly speaking, the consensus in America is that medical intervention and gender affirmation are beneficial and should be more accessible. Across Europe several countries now believe that the evidence is lacking and such interventions should be used sparingly and need further study. The Europeans are right... one concern is that doctors have changed the safeguards built into the original treatment design, devised in the Netherlands in the 1980s and 1990s. Twenty years ago, the typical patient was male, with a long history of dysphoria. Children and teenagers with psychological problems besides dysphoria were disqualified from treatment. These days most patients are adolescent girls. Their dysphoria may be relatively recent. Some are depressed, anxious or autistic, but mental illness is no longer a hard barrier to treatment. Do these patients respond to drugs and surgery in the same way? It is unclear. And that is because the clinical evidence for intervention in broader categories of adolescents is vague. A formal British review of the clinical evidence, prepared in 2020, found that almost all the studies in this area were of poor quality; one in Sweden came to similar conclusions. When researchers find benefits, the effects tend to be small. It is often impossible to conclude whether they are lasting, or how much the credit is down to drugs or counselling or both. Some older studies suggest that, left alone, most children will naturally grow out of their dysphoric feelings. The long-term effects of puberty-blockers remain unknown, though there are worries about brain development and decreasing bone density. Medical bodies build safeguards into their treatment protocols, but they vary. And in any case practitioners may ignore them. Whistle-blowers say that some children and teenagers are being put on puberty-blockers after only a cursory assessment. A growing number of “detransitioners”, who regret their treatment, say that they have been left scarred, infertile, with irreversibly altered appearances and were unhappy with how their dysphoria was treated... Rachel Levine, assistant secretary for health and a paediatrician, was very clear: “There is no argument among medical professionals…about the value and the importance of gender-affirming care.” Except that there is. And when medical staff raise concerns—that teenage girls may be caught up in a social contagion, say, or that some parents see transition as a way to have a straight daughter rather than a gay son—they have been vilified as transphobic and, in some cases, suffered personal and professional opprobrium. Medical science is not supposed to work this way... The right policy is therefore the one Britain’s NHS and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden seem to be working towards. This would promote psychotherapy and reserve puberty-blockers and cross-sex hormones for a system in which patients would almost always be enrolled in a well-run clinical trial. Ideally, American regulators would insist on trials, too. If the culture wars put that compromise out of reach, professional bodies should uphold their own protocols by welcoming whistle-blowers and advance science by calling on patients to be in trials."

'It feels transphobic in a weird way because it's categorising people. Also when you say 'females' it sounds more like someone's stating a fact about a group of people,' she continued. Abbie said that when the word 'women' is used, it allows for more 'debate' on what it means to be 'female'."

West Virginia girls stand up against trans sports madness — they're braver than the president - "Consider the five West Virginia middle-school girls who rightly objected to the inclusion of trans girl Becky Pepper-Jackson — i.e., a biological boy, with all the attendant strength advantages — in a track and field competition.  The girls refused to shotput against Pepper-Jackson, and were punished for that quiet protest by being barred from future meets.  They didn’t shout or scream or hurl slurs; they exercised a totally non-threatening, totally nonviolent form of protest at what they — again, correctly — see as an injustice... We’re happy to say that state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has filed suit against the county ed board responsible for the travesty, and we wish the kids all the luck in the world in their quest for justice.   Mind you, West Virginia law forbids letting biological boys compete against girls; only a woke federal judge’s intervention let Pepper-Jackson steamroll the female competition in the first place.   Yet the county board still tried to abuse its power to make teen girls pay for their principled stand, all the better to ram gender extremism down the public’s throat."

West Virginia Teen Track Athlete Alleges Ongoing Sexual Harassment from Trans-Identified Male Teammate - "A high school track athlete in Bridgeport, West Virginia, has joined an ongoing lawsuit challenging the inclusion of trans-identified males in female sports. The student, Adaleia Cross, identified in the declaration as “A.C.,” alleges that fellow track team member Becky Pepper-Jackson, a boy who claims to identify as a girl, made several sexually abusive and vulgar remarks about her, which caused her “deep distress.”   According to a statement by the 15 year-old girl added as evidence to the lawsuit State of Tennessee, et al v. Cardona, et al (U.S. Secretary of Education) on May 8, Pepper-Jackson, 13 years-old and identified as B.P.J., made “several offensive and inappropriate sexual comments” towards Cross. The harassment escalated, she said, during their final year of middle school, when “the comments became much more aggressive, vile, and disturbing.”  The suit alleges that Pepper-Jackson would say “suck my dick” to both the complainant and other girls on the team.   “During the end of that year, about two to three times per week, B.P.J. would look at me and say ‘suck my dick.’ There were usually other girls around who heard this. I heard B.P.J. say the same thing to my other teammates, too,” Cross said.  “B.P.J. made other more explicit sexual statements that felt threatening to me. At times, B.P.J. told me quietly ‘I’m gonna stick my dick into your pussy.’ And B.P.J. sometimes added ‘and in your ass,’ as well. These comments were disturbing and caused me deep distress.”   The sexual abuse took place while Pepper-Jackson shared a locker room with the teen girls, as well as during track practice, Cross said. The comments made the girl feel “confused and disgusted,” she explained, “especially confusing because I was told that B.P.J. was on the girls’ team because B.P.J. identifies as a girl, but the girls on the team never talked like that.”  Concerned, Cross reported the sexual comments to her track coach and to school administrators. However, “nothing changed,” she said, and Pepper-Jackson “got very little or no punishment” for saying things other students would be penalized for...   “In marching band, we have many band trips that require overnight stays, where students share hotel rooms without an adult staying in the room with them. I am hesitant to continue playing in the band because I am uncertain whether I will be forced to share a hotel room or be exposed to B.P.J. on these trips.”  Cross additionally voiced her concern for Pepper-Jackson’s female peers, positing that his presence in the locker room of 12 and 13 year-old girls could deter them from playing sports altogether...  Judge Toby Heytens stated, “Offering B.P.J. a ‘choice’ between not participating in sports and participating only on boys teams is no real choice at all.”  “The defendants cannot expect that B.P.J. will countermand her social transition, her medical treatment, and all the work she has done with her schools, teachers, and coaches for nearly half her life by introducing herself to teammates, coaches, and even opponents as a boy,” Judge Heytens added.  The decision was celebrated by the ACLU and by Lambda Legal, two of the most active trans activist organizations spearheading lawsuits in the United States."

Who is Alexia Willie? Transgender Woman Threatened School Shooting—Police - "Alexia Willie has been charged with 14 felony counts of interstate communication of a threat to injure, court records show, including one in which she referenced the March 2023 shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee. In videos and streams online, Willie threatened to repeat the actions of Aiden Hale, a former pupil at the school and transgender man who shot and killed three nine-year-old children and three staff members. According to court filings made on November 7, Willie made a video in which she allegedly said: "A person in Tennessee walked into one of your schools and shot up a bunch of your Christian daughters. That's not the last of them if you don't shut your f***** mouth."  She made further threats against children. In one instance, without referencing who "we" is, saying: "We're coming for your children." She added: "While you're sitting out here talking your s***, we're not gonna come for you, we're gonna come for your f****** children. Do you understand me?" Willie made several references to sexually assaulting children, some using language that is not appropriate for publication, but specifically made threats against "your daughters in the bathroom" and allegedly admitted to being "openly a pedophile."  In another threat made online, Willie took aim at Black people and threatened to "infect them with HIV" via a syringe. "They're trash, they're Christian trash. They're transphobic, they're homophobic. They're no different than the f****** white supremacists," Willie said according to the indictment.  She also threatened to go to Uganda and "assassinate all of the parliament members."... Not much is known about Willie who is from Nashville, Illinois and was formerly known as Jason Lee Willie, aside from a history of making threats against several different groups. According to the proffer of evidence, the FBI has received numerous reports regarding Willie's threats and erratic behavior online.  In 2018 the FBI received reports of a threat made by Willie on Facebook, in which she claimed to have killed a preacher that had molested her and hundreds of other children. The FBI previously spoke to Willie about a separate threat made on streaming platform Twitch, in which she threatened to bomb people who discriminate against transgender rights.  A person who lived with Willie said, according to the proffer of evidence, that she has "a lot of anger" and said he was trying to get "mental health assistance" for his house mate."

Thread by @wesyang on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - " There are many people who will in all earnestness be shocked and horrified by those making the self-evidently true observation that this is not a man who found his authentic self by dosing himself with exogenous hormones but instead a very troubled woman caught up in a viral contagion of medicalized self-harm that she is helping to spread. Those people have been propagandized out of reality.  There are many powerful institutions that will restrict the right to speak and even attack the right to transact on their platforms for asserting this self-evident truth. Those institutions have been captured by those propagandized out of reality.  There has never been an eruption of such blatant absurdity and state sponsored falsehood in any of our lifetimes. It is a practical and moral imperative to assert our right to say the self-evident truth by saying it. It's the only way to dispel the veil of mystification and repression foundational to the sustenance of a movement built on reality denial that has gone further than any other such movement in capturing the institutions that control what we can say and think. She writes about it in her memoir -- sexual exploitation of the kind that is pervasive in that setting.  Many turn to a variety of cult-like practices and institutions to cope. (Scientology, the Reverend Moon, etc.) We don't ban them for those old enough to consent and bear the consequences. And many of those cults do in fact help people by giving them a sense of purpose and a community in exchange for much of their wealth.  But this cult is different: it has captured the state and civil society and its demand that everyone accept or merely pay continual verbal tribute to its tenets. It's a demand that is incompatible with a pluralistic, liberal society where freedom of speech, belief, and unbelief are all enshrined in its founding principles.  It's a demand that this society must refuse. There are tragically wounded people seeking to empower themselves by plunging the whole world into coerced compliance with a fantasy world that can never be true -- by inducting other people's children into it with the active participation of the state. And the medical and psychiatric and social work and educational and cultural establishments, each of which fell under the sway of this movement. It's an extraordinarily strange and poignant story.  Society must say no."

Hegel Borg™️ on X - "Judith Butler's claim that gender, unlike race, is a purely social construct, and therefore mutable based on individual self-identification, is not only ridiculous on its face, it disregards the biological basis and of the cultural formation of "gender," and pretends that a "racial identity" is the only identity that is formed based on assumptions or treatment based on external appearance or external characteristics.
Inconsistency and Intellectual Dishonesty: There is a glaring inconsistency in her stance. She allows for a fluid interpretation of gender based on subjective self-identification but denies the same approach to racial identity, which she binds unequivocally to immutable characteristics like skin color. This selective application of social constructivism reveals a biased and ideologically motivated inconsistency. If gender can be self-determined regardless of biological sex, then by the same logic, why should racial identity be strictly confined to physical attributes or ancestry? The failure to apply her own standards of identity fluidity uniformly across different categories smacks of intellectual dishonesty.
Bias and Incoherence: Butler’s bias is evident in her selective championing of fluid gender identities while rigidly constraining racial identities. This approach is incoherent because it suggests that social constructs only apply selectively, based on current political and cultural preferences, rather than as a universal principle. She selectively applies the principles of self-identification and social construction, accepting them wholesale for gender while completely denying their relevance to race. This selective application is not only inconsistent but seems to be guided more by contemporary political correctness than by any rigorous intellectual or moral principle. Such inconsistency renders her entire argument intellectually untenable.
Arbitrary Dismissal of Racial Identity Fluidity: By categorically rejecting the fluidity of racial identity while endorsing gender fluidity, Butler fails to acknowledge the historical and ongoing processes by which racial identities have evolved and been redefined across contexts and eras. This failure to recognize that both "racial identity" and "gender identity" have been subject to definition based on a confluence of historical and societal factors, while simultaneously and arbitrarily categorizing one of those identities as fluid and something one can opt-into and the other as immutable is self-contradictory, incoherent and nonsensical.
Rejecting the Bifurcation: The bifurcation of sex and gender should be rejected outright. Gender is not a category that can be completely disentangled from sex. To argue otherwise is to endorse a form of cultural and ideological manipulation that denies the biological realities of human existence. This perspective not only distorts the truth but also destabilizes the societal understanding of identity, leading to confusion and conflict over fundamental aspects of human nature.
Additionally, stating that sex and gender can be bifurcated while simultaneously saying that "racial identity" and skin color are not concepts that can be severed, is entirely self contradictory and is not justified whatsoever by her argument. She exclusively relies on semantics and arbitrary categorization, which do not justify her position whatsoever.

Thread by @TwisterFilm on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "A Dirty Secret of #TransHistoryWeek
This shameless rewriting of history at least provides an insight into the warped values of the trans lobby. Here's Stephen Whittle celebrating a documentary about transsexuals from 1973. What didn't she tell you about that show? The loopy Left wants to decolonise everything. It could start by recognising the bigotry baked into the foundations of the trans movement. We're told black men like Marsha P Johnson kickstarted its rise. Instead this TV show reveals the sordid truth.
Blonde trans activist Della (Derek) Aleksander who fronted the show was a leading light in the early British trans movement and headlined the first ever trans rights conference in Leeds in 1974. He also happened to be on the Far Right, volunteering to fight FOR Apartheid.  This racism explains why in the BBC show Aleksander claims he communicates regularly in seances with Hitler and Verwoerd, the architect of Apartheid. Did Whittle know all this? Della's Far Right past was openly discussed in this blog site to which Whittle responded. So open was Aleksander's racism it's been suggested he was the British Union of Fascists founder Oswald Mosley's lieutenant in the late 1950s, acting as his eyes and ears in South Africa. After he transitioned Della's views stayed ....shall we say niche.  He became a devotee of New Age guru Charlotte Bach, a convicted fraudster, who argued Darwin was wrong and evolution is driven by sexual perversion. It explains Della's closing lines in the show where he claims transsexuality is the key to future social progress. Maaate!
Ironically, this TV show Whittle recommends we watch is more revealing than he realises. It exposes the roots of the strangest and most dangerous social justice movement of modern times; a lobby spawned by mysticism, political extremism and frankly, a sprinkling of lunacy.  To succeed it has disguised that underlying insanity. As for its driving motivation, Della Aleksander made that clear when he said in 1974 that "Being a transvestite or transsexual cannot, by its nature, be a social protest phenomenon". So what IS the trans lobby about then? The deeply racist "Della" revealed the truth about transgenderism when he proudly admitted it "seeks to conform to accepted norms of the sexual division and the manner in which the sexes are distinguished by dress." It is and always has been about enforcing stereotypes.
It's appropriate that a delusional woman like Stephen Whittle can see nothing wrong with Della Aleksander. Whittle herself despaired as a young woman as she imagined herself as "an old lesbian wearing a tweed skirt." Read more here.
One day soon Trans History week will perhaps tell the real story about the trans movement's origins. It's one of reactionary politics, racial bigotry and a desperate desire, driven by psychiatric issues, to reinforce the sex sterotypes the rest of us have moved on from. In the meantime it's probably too much to expect blowhards like Whittle to grow some metaphorical balls (no pun intended) and acknowledge the truth about the lobby she helped create. If you want to watch the show here's the link. Watch & wonder."

It will mean that women and girls will have lost their right to single sex spaces. Possibly irrevocably.  It will mean that impossibly young children have gone on being socially transitioned, and later medicalised, in the name of gender identity.  It will mean that men with paraphilias have kept saying they are women, and society doubled down on enabling them.   It means that safeguarding is still broken because children live in a society where paraphilias have been made sacred. Not to mention a society where adults constantly lie to them about biological sex, and the risk of male violence.   It means women are still being terrorised, hurt, humiliated, and ultimately subjugated, to the will of men who change their names and put on spinny skirts.   It means there are layers upon layers of horror, and harm, being inflicted on ordinary women, children and men.
What such a society thinks of the women who stood up against that dystopian future is irrelevant.  Such a society has no integrity, so its opinion of women is worthless.   You can’t shame women into submission now, with the threat that sometime in the future society won’t respect us.  It isn’t respecting us much now, by ignoring our voices.  It isn’t respecting us when it sees the terrible things already happening, and insists the only problem is us pointing it out.  It isn’t respecting us by rewriting us as a class to include men…  …and not just any men but often some of the worst ambassadors you’ve got.
So, no, you can’t threaten us with the future. The present is bad enough.  The only concern about the future I have, at all, is about how many women and children are safer in it.  What the future says will matter so much less than what it does."

There Will Be No George Floyd 2.0 - "Reed’s killing set into motion a familiar ritual. Community activists called for the scalps of the officers involved in the shooting. Left-wing activist groups and local legislators — including Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson — rushed to express their shock and outrage at the scourge of police brutality and systemic racism. Protests mobilized on the streets of Chicago, clashing with law enforcement and blocking an intersection outside a police station. (Reed’s brother was arrested at the protest.) Tearful family members recounted stories of Reed’s angelic innocence to a swarm of sympathetic journalists, and they appeared alongside local activists at a press conference, brandishing Justice for Dexter Reed! signs: The media, never one to miss the opportunity to fan the flames of racial hostility, went to great lengths to portray Reed as a faultless victim — another tragic casualty of a racist, unjust system... From the opening paragraphs of the Post report, one could be forgiven for thinking that Reed was mercilessly executed in cold blood... It wasn’t until the eighth paragraph of the piece that the Post saw fit to inform readers of the proximate cause of the shooting — i.e. that, according to the civilian oversight review, Reed belligerently refused to follow orders, drew a (unlawfully possessed) handgun, and began shooting at police.  Of course, the widely repeated shibboleth about police brutality toward black men is, as an empirical matter, nonsense. According to the Washington Post’s own police shootings database, a total of 162 unarmed black men have been shot by police from 2015 through 2023 — an average of 18 a year, in a nation of more than 330 million. Well over 2,000 police officers were killed in the line of duty over the same time period, according to the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund.  But that hasn’t prevented the mass mobilization of left-wing forces, based on the fraudulent premise of systemic racism, in the past. Black Lives Matter in 2020 represented the largest protest movement in American history — and it achieved something akin to a revolutionary coup in many of the nation’s power centers. At numerous junctures, this was enabled by conservative complicity. When an orgy of violence, rioting, looting, and destruction broke out in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Republicans were dazed. Some, such as Sen. Tim Scott, took the opportunity to enthusiastically affirm the BLM narrative. Others, such as Sen. Mitt Romney, marched with BLM themselves. Across the country, Republican leaders watched silently as radicals marched through their institutions... The Left might pine for a George Floyd redux. (We’re only six months out from an election, after all; and these days, what’s an election year without a few good old-fashioned race riots?) But they shouldn’t hold their breath. The simple fact is that the conditions that enabled the rolling revolution of 2020 were specific and unique — and while they may have left a legacy that endures to this day, they are unlikely to fully resurface anytime soon.  The most obvious of those novel conditions was the pandemic — and specifically, the fact that the spark that lit the wildfire came during the most draconian period of lockdowns, when large swaths of the country had been marinating in something akin to mass solitary confinement for months. Another factor was President Donald Trump, who invited a unique hatred from the left-wing base and an unprecedented hysteria from left-wing elites, and who served, in the minds of both demographics, as a constant, ever-present reminder of America’s white supremacist evil. (Once Democrats took back the White House, of course, the U.S. miraculously became a good and decent country again). But the most interesting difference lies in the disposition of the Right. For all its impotence, the conservative movement is unlikely to tolerate another summer of love on the scale of the George Floyd riots — or, at least, to tolerate it to the extent they did in 2020"

George Floyd Revisited: Derek Chauvin Was Wrongfully Convicted - "  Dr. John Dunn contacted journalist Jack Cashill early on in this matter with his concerns about the information in the autopsy. Dunn had read the autopsy report and concluded that Floyd died of natural causes, most likely cardiac arrest from severe heart disease, exertion, and excitement. The methamphetamine in his system could have made his heart more irritable to add to the risk of cardiac arrest.  The fentanyl in his system was not a factor, since the blood level of 11 nanograms was not lethal for a frequent user and he was not acting like a fentanyl overdose, which causes lethargy, unconsciousness and slowed breathing, then death from respiratory failure.  Dunn was alarmed by Baker’s final autopsy report, released a week after the original.  During that week, among other outrages, rioters set fire to the MPD Third Precinct house, totaling it. Baker could feel the heat and not just from the arson. An exhibit released later by Judge Peter Cahill memorialized a November 2020 meeting held by state prosecutors with Dr. Roger Mitchell, the District of Columbia medical examiner. In the meeting, Mitchell boasted of how he compelled Baker to change his initial autopsy report to include death from neck compression, a homicide. If Baker balked, Mitchell promised to denounce him in a Washington Post op-ed. Baker yielded. Under threat from Mitchell, he titled his revised autopsy report, “Cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression...   Excited delirium, originally known as Bell’s Mania, had a more than 50 percent death rate before medications became available to sedate extremely agitated psychiatric patients. The deaths come from dehydration, hyperthermia, organ failure, and heart problems, including death from cardiac arrest. In 2008 the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) commissioned 18 physician experts to draft a monograph on excited delirium. It was well received in 2009 when released. In June 2021, the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates  publicly condemned the excited delirium diagnosis in sudden death cases like Floyd’s because it might exonerate police officers. The action by the AMA was no surprise since the AMA Board of Trustees had already declared  its support for critical race theory, DEI, and anti-police campaigns. Under pressure from social justice warriors in the medical community, ACEP removed the excited delirium monograph from its website. Sensing trouble to come, Dr. Dunn downloaded a copy before activists made it disappear.   It is well known that panic/anxiety attacks cause a shortness of breath, often to the point of fainting. Mr. Floyd was noisy and talkative to the end. Although anxious, he was breathing well and not apparently short of breath.  The prosecution’s medical experts claimed that the officers impaired Floyd’s breathing by putting pressure on his shoulder and neck, but they were silent on the obvious, namely that the muscle for breathing, the diaphragm, is inside the lower chest. It is protected by the ribs. That’s why the restraint is safe and not lethal. In June 2021 Dr. Dunn made a video, available on Rumble, testing the prosecution thesis. For ten minutes, a man roughly the weight of Derek Chauvin restrained a man roughly the weight of George Floyd using the same technique Chauvin used on Floyd. Dunn repeated the experiment two more times in December 2023 and January 2024. In these tests Dunn, slightly heavier than Chauvin, played Floyd’s role with a man about the same height and weight as Floyd, 6 feet 4 inches and 220 pounds, played the role of Chauvin.  In all three demonstrations, the restraint proved harmless. The oxygen levels of the man restrained remained in the normal range — above 95 percent saturation — throughout the entire ten minute exercise. The proper conclusion on the cause of death was right there in the autopsy’s findings. The state prosecutors knew about Mitchell’s threats and Baker’s original impression of no homicide. Baker testified in the trial of April 2021 that no one coerced him. The prosecutors presented that testimony, knowing it to be false, and Judge Cahill allowed it."

The Inauthenticity Behind Black Lives Matter - WSJ - " Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina gave a remarkable speech at this year’s Republican National Convention. Yes, here was a black man at a GOP event, so there was a whiff of identity politics. When we see color these days, we expect ideology to follow. But Mr. Scott’s charisma that night was simply that he spoke as a person, not a spokesperson for his color. Burgess Owens, Herschel Walker, Daniel Cameron and several others did the same. It was a parade of individuals. And in their speeches the human being stepped out from behind the identity, telling personal stories that reached for human connections with the American people—this rather than the usual posturing for leverage with tales of grievance. So they were all fresh and compelling...  The old [racial order] began in what might be called America’s Great Confession. In passing the 1964 Civil Rights Act, America effectively confessed to a long and terrible collusion with the evil of racism. (President Kennedy was the first president to acknowledge that civil rights was a “moral issue.”) This triggered nothing less than a crisis of moral authority that threatened the very legitimacy of American democracy. Even today, almost 60 years beyond the Civil Rights Act, groups like Black Lives Matter, along with a vast grievance industry, use America’s insecure moral authority around race as an opportunity to assert themselves. Doesn’t BLM dwell in a space made for it by America’s racial self-doubt? In the culture, whites and American institutions are effectively mandated by this confession to prove their innocence of racism as a condition of moral legitimacy. Blacks, in turn, are mandated to honor their new freedom by developing into educational and economic parity with whites. If whites achieve racial innocence and blacks develop into parity with whites, then America will have overcome its original sin. Democracy will have become manifest. This was America’s post-confession bargain between the races—innocence on the white hand, development on the black. It defined the old order with which those convention speakers seemed to break. But there is a problem with these mandates: To achieve their ends, they both need blacks to be victims... This is a corruption because it makes black suffering into a moral power to be wielded, rather than a condition to be overcome... Yet there is an elephant in the room. It is simply that we blacks aren’t much victimized any more. Today we are free to build a life that won’t be stunted by racial persecution. Today we are far more likely to encounter racial preferences than racial discrimination. Moreover, we live in a society that generally shows us goodwill—a society that has isolated racism as its most unforgivable sin. This lack of victimization amounts to an “absence of malice” that profoundly threatens the victim-focused black identity. Who are we without the malice of racism? Can we be black without being victims? The great diminishment (not eradication) of racism since the ’60s means that our victim-focused identity has become an anachronism. Well suited for the past, it strains for relevance in the present. Thus, for many blacks today—especially the young—there is a feeling of inauthenticity, that one is only thinly black because one isn’t racially persecuted. “Systemic racism” is a term that tries to recover authenticity for a less and less convincing black identity. This racism is really more compensatory than systemic. It was invented to make up for the increasing absence of the real thing. This summer, in cities from Portland, Ore., to Baltimore, black protest seemed driven more by the angst of inauthenticity than by any real menace. The protests themselves came off as theater. There were costumes, masks and well-rehearsed mimes of confrontation and outrage. The violence was destructive, but only to a point. After all it was calibrated to go on for months. In the summer of 2020, self-consciousness replaced spontaneity as the essence of youthful protest in America—yet another sign that there is not enough real victimization to light the sort of fire that burned down Detroit in the ’60s. I doubt that any of the black speakers at the RNC would argue that racism has vanished from American life. What makes them harbingers of a new racial order is that they unpair victimization from identity. Victimization may be an experience we endure, but it should never be an identity that defines us. They all spoke as American citizens in a spirit of citizenship. This is the great challenge that always awaits the oppressed after freedom is achieved. If only out of loyalty to our past (all this suffering has to mean something), we will feel compelled to make victimization the centerpiece of our identity today. This will seem the authentic and honorable thing to do. But it will only further invest us in precisely the fruitless tangle of identity and woundedness that mires us in the past. We should never deny the past, but it should only inform and inspire. In the end, only one achievement will turn us from the old victim-focused racial order toward a new, nonracial order: the full and unqualified acceptance of our freedom. We don’t have to fight for freedom so much any more. We have to do something more difficult—fully accept that we are free."
From 2020

Recent protesters are more diverse, younger than Americans overall - "Black Americans account for 17% of those who say they attended a protest focused on race or racial equality in the last month, compared with their 11% share of all adults in the survey...   46% of those who said they attended a protest focused on race in the last month are white... When it comes to political party affiliation, about eight-in-ten (79%) of those who say they participated in a protest or rally focused on race or racial equality in the last month identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party, while just 17% say they are Republican or Republican-leaning."
From 2020. BLM reflects white liberal neuroses

Thread by @EricsElectrons on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "I once dated a girl who works in admissions for one of the top 30 best colleges in the world. She one day stopped answering my texts out of nowhere. I was going to live & let live, but this time I wanted an explanation so I called her after not hearing from her for 2 weeks. She answered very calmly but measured as if she was getting interviewed or something. She also was acting as if everything was fine between us.  After some small talk I straight up asked her, “Why did you ghost me and decide to talk today?” What she said was stupefying. This girl said with her whole chest, “I was exploring your social media pages and I just can’t stand by your views on black lives. I just think it’s anti-black and you don’t care about black lives lost to police violence.”  I paused for a moment before responding. I sternly asked, “Do you really believe, as a self-described white woman, you care more about black lives more than me, what many would call a black man, just because I’m critical of Black Lives Matter as a movement?”  She was at a loss for words for at least 5 seconds. Her tone changed to something that is reminiscent of a mother scolding her child and said, “It’s not that you are anti-black directly, but your views are and you’re aiding white supremacy whether you know it or not.”  I was about ready to go off on her but then she also said, “I also didn’t like your comments about how universities discriminate against Asian applicants. I’m in admissions. That’s not happening. You wouldn’t know that because you’re not in admissions.”  I cut in & said, “But you know more about BLM issues than me as a white woman?” She then said, “That’s different. I don’t know more than you but I do think you can be mislead.”  I agreed & said, “I can but at least I’m aware of that. You’re not & you’re making an argument from authority. Are you even aware of the lawsuit against Harvard?” She says, “I don’t have to know. Every university has a slightly different admissions process. You can’t say we are all discriminating against Asian people.”  I corrected her by saying I never said all are doing that. I just said that the top schools (including hers) are. She said, “It takes a special type of arrogance to think you know the admissions process.”  I replied, “It takes a special type of arrogance & racism as a white leftist woman to think you can tell a black man that he doesn’t care about black people.”  She lost it. “How DARE you call me a racist. I have done so much to amplify black voices and make sure they have an equitable process through admissions.”  I replied, “So you can influence the admissions process with your political views? That right there puts my case to rest.” She then states the obvious that this won’t work out and how I just don’t get it and I interrupt her by saying, “Yea, I don’t do well with racists that disguise their left leaning racism as equity and inclusion.”  The call ends because she hangs up on me. 😂 The end."
Black voices only matter when they push the left wing agenda

i/o on X - "Dexter, Michigan is one of the richest towns in the Midwest. Its schools emphasize antiracism and black history, are explicitly committed to BLM, post antiracist materials on walls, and "prioritiz[e] the safety of Black students."  Only 1 out of every 500 residents is black."

iamyesyouareno on X - "White firefighter saves a black man’s life who was overdosing on drugs, the black man then shoots the firefighter when they asked if he had any firearms on him. Another attack that will get no media attention because it doesn’t fit the narrative."
Mitchell F. Lundgaard - National Fallen Firefighters Foundation - "Mitch was a 14-year veteran of the Appleton Fire Department when he tragically lost his life in the line of duty. It started as a routine medical call at the city’s transit center, when a man who had been revived after a drug overdose opened fire on police officers and firefighters who had just saved his life. Mitch died of a gunshot wound to the chest."
Appleton firefighter shooting: Name change allowed man to go free - "The shooter, Ruben Houston, died in a shootout with police... He said a judge reduced Houston's bail from the $5,000 requested by his office to $500 because neither the district attorney nor the court was aware Houston had a long criminal history... Houston simply added an "o" to the name Huston."
The left claim no one says "fuck the fire department". So they'll blame the police for his death

RPS board declares Black Lives Matter 'government speech - "The Rochester Public Schools board voted unanimously Tuesday evening to make several phrases and images, including "Black Lives Matter," government speech, meaning the school can't be held liable for allowing those views while not allowing opposing views...   By declaring certain phrases involving the Black Lives Matter movement as government speech, the board is protecting itself from legal action because it is allowing one type of speech, but not any speech in opposition to those phrases.  But it's not just "Black lives matter," in Rochester schools, speech concerning "Brown lives matter," "Indigenous lives matter, "Stop Asian hate", as well as the pride flag, are now all declared official government speech...   Rumors circulated online suggesting RPS was asking teachers to remove "Black Lives Matter" messages from classrooms. That's why the board took action - passing the formal resolution."
We will still be told that they are the "Resistance", and that elite capture is not real, and that the government doesn't support BLM

Playing the Race Card on Larry Elder - "The self-described “Sage from South-Central” maintains that criminals, not the police, are the biggest threat in the black community. According to Elder, the false narrative about lethal police racism has only led to more black homicide deaths. “When you reduce the possibility of a bad guy getting caught, getting convicted and getting incarcerated, guess what? Crime goes up,” he said recently at a campaign event in Orange County.  Elder also rejects the charge that white civilians are gunning down blacks, as LeBron James maintained in a tweet during the George Floyd riots: “We are literally hunted everyday, every time we step outside the comfort of our homes.” Elder has a different take. If a “young black man is eight times more likely to be killed by another young black man than [by] a young white man”... then “systemic racism is not the problem.” Such statements are anathema to the establishment Left, deeply invested as it is in the idea that blacks have little agency in the face of ubiquitous white racism. Few subjects are more taboo in elite discourse than the elevated rate of crime among blacks, as it suggests cultural pathologies that—at the very least—complicate the victim narrative. To the Left, black crime is little more than a racist fiction... Unfortunately for Elder’s critics, the statistics showing vastly disproportionate rates of black crime and victimization come from some of the Left’s favorite sources. CDC data...   What about the claim that blacks don’t “disproportionately victimize whites”? In 2019, according to a Bureau of Justice Statistics survey of criminal victimization, blacks committed 127,350 non-lethal violent crimes against whites, while whites committed 17,690 non-lethal violent crimes against blacks. In other words, blacks commit 88 percent of all interracial violence between blacks and whites.  Crime apologists argue that such disproportions are inevitable because there are so many whites in the U.S. But in cities where racial ratios are more commensurate, the amount of white-on-black violence remains negligible.   Occasionally videos and reports of interracial violence—flash mobs, knockout games, and brutal beatings and robberies—become public. If the races were reversed, there would be a national uproar lasting months; but such incidents get scant, if any, mainstream media coverage. They are the reason why the press has all but eliminated reporting on the race of crime suspects.  Such voluntary action is not enough to ensure public cluelessness about the reality of crime, however. Governor Newsom recently signed a law prohibiting California’s police departments from posting mugshots of arrested criminals if their latest crime was “non-violent.” The San Francisco Police Department has stopped posting mugshots of all criminals. Police Chief Bill Scott explained that doing so “creates an illusory correlation for viewers that vastly overstates the propensity of Black and brown men to engage in criminal behavior.” Actually, mug shots document a real correlation. If the San Francisco Police Department could undercut that correlation by posting mugshots of white muggers, does anyone doubt that it would rush to do so?...   Fifty police officers have been murdered this year as of August 25. In 2019, there were 697,195 sworn officers in the U.S. That employment count would be lower now, in light of the rush of officer retirements over the last year and a half and the inability of police departments to recruit replacements. Conservatively, using the 2019 number, however, those 50 officers represent a rate of approximately seven officers killed per 100,000 on the job. Four unarmed blacks have been fatally shot by police officers so far in 2021, according to the Washington Post. (“Unarmed” does not mean compliant; the Post’s category includes crime suspects who violently resist arrest, pummel officers after knocking them to the ground, and continue fighting after being tased.) Those four black victims represent .0000085 percent of the nearly 47 million self-identified blacks, or less than one one-hundredth of one person killed by the police per 100,000. A police officer is 875 times as likely to be killed on the job as an unarmed black is to be killed by a police officer.  Historically, blacks have made up over 40 percent of cop killers nationwide—43 percent between 2005 and 2013—though they are, at most, 13 percent of the nation’s population... A police officer is 375 times as likely to be killed by a black suspect as an unarmed black is to be killed by a police officer.  Elder is breaking the taboos about black crime in an effort to save black lives. Police activity must be understood in the context of crime, not simple population ratios, since policing today is data-driven. Cops go where people are most being victimized, and that is in black neighborhoods. The police cannot protect black victims without having a disparate impact on black criminals. But the lies directed against cops from the highest reaches of government have led the police to back off... Assaults on officers also rose in 2020. Since the George Floyd riots, officers in California have been shot at, assaulted with lethal projectiles, firebombed, and run over. In September 2020, long-time felon Deonte Murray walked up to the parked squad car of two Los Angeles County Sherriff’s deputies and shot them both in the head as they sat inside. Bystanders cheered; anticop protesters continued the celebration later at the hospital, as the deputies struggled on life support.  Yet despite this open season on cops, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón declared in December 2020 that officers’ authority may be resisted with impunity and will not be prosecuted—a declaration that strikes at the heart of civilization itself, as Elder understands.   Trying to ensure that blacks get the policing they need in order to stay alive would not seem to be the gesture of a white supremacist, black or white.  If Elder were running as a Democrat, the press would be celebrating the possibility of California’s first black governor. Instead, we hear nothing about “shattering glass ceilings” or “diversifying” the ruling elite. The New York Times ran an entire front-page article on Elder’s candidacy without once mentioning that he was black. (The article did claim in passing that Elder was an affirmative-action admit to Brown University, an unthinkable charge regarding a black liberal.) A column by Paul Krugman two days later was equally colorblind regarding the Elder candidacy. Has the Times renounced identity politics? Only selectively. Adjacent to the August 25 front-page article was a story on New York’s new governor, headlined “Hochul Breaks a Barrier and Pledges a New Era.” The story opened with the observation that “Kathleen C. Hochul became the first woman to ascend to New York’s highest office on Tuesday.” Yet Hochul’s entry into the governor’s mansion in Albany does not even signify anything about gubernatorial voting patterns; she was not elected but slotted in after Andrew Cuomo’s resignation. Black governors have been much rarer than female ones. Elder would lead the nation’s largest state and be just the third black governor ever elected in the United States, following Douglas Wilder in Virginia and Deval Patrick in Massachusetts."
