Left wingers (e.g. in the comments) keep pushing that tired line about how his alleged plagiarism was the literature review so it's a false positive and/or that plagiarism detection tools don't know if you cited the quoted bits properly so there's no proof he plagiarized. Either they don't know that his plagiarism has been extensively publicly documented or they're lying. Either way their claims are false and their opinion is worthless.

I found almost all of these references—presented a few days ago by the Middle East Eye as if no one had yet reported them—and reported them on my Substack on Aug. 1 and in the Washington @FreeBeacon on Aug. 4. Therefore, I respectfully request that Cadwalladr corrects her false claim in her Substack and acknowledges my reporting from three weeks ago. If she is an honest journalist she will run an editor’s note acknowledging her error I further suggest that she acknowledges that these contemporaneous news reports of Arday supposedly running 30 marathons in 35 days do not prove he actually accomplished that feat. They prove that he told people he did so. Note that he availed himself of the services of a pair of PR men to promote his efforts. (He claimed in his memoir that they offered their services pro bono. Oddly, he gives them pseudonyms.) That is why he got multiple local press outlets to cover the supposed feat. But Arday did not run as a part of any official races and did not run with a GPS tracker. So these reports do not prove he completed these runs. I must say, I find it galling when people condescend to the media about what a bad job the media did about some subject, but in the process these people fail to get the story right themselves. So, to be clear:
My "agenda" is to look objectively at the claims and assess the available evidence.
There is definitely evidence that Dr Arday undertook a marathon challenge; that is indisputable. There is also evidence that he made claims around that challenge (both at the time and particularly later) which appear to be either untrue or embellishments. Specifically:
1. Claiming that he ran nine marathons whilst his right leg had "ballooned to twice its size"
2. Claiming that two to three thousand people were waiting for him at the finish.
Both these claims are contradicted by photographic and video evidence from that day, as I have shown.
3. His later claim (in 2021) that he had run all the marathons in under five hours, clearly not supported by his blog which shows all of the later marathon times as between five and nearly six and a half hours.
Emma was aware of all of the above but chose not to include these claims in her thread.
As I said in my original post, evidence that Dr Arday said something is not evidence that it happened. And given his many other verifiably false claims (particularly re. his professional CV), yes - I will question everything. That is not an unreasonable position to take when you believe in proper fact-checking."

c) Cofnas explained that observable group differences do not apply to all ‘outlier’ cases, and hence he accepts that individual blacks can, and do, excel.
Like Cofnas, I also reject Harvard’s positive discrimination and I value meritocracy. Probably unlike Cofnas, I doubt group differences in IQ can be reliably isolated as to cause. And regardless, I am suspicious of IQ scores being used as a reliable measure of intelligence anyway.
