AOC says being in Congress has made her realize 'how many people in this country hate women' - "Being catapulted into public life and national headlines has brought Democratic Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a world of hate, she told GQ in a cover story published on Wednesday. The fiery socialist gets the full glossy treatment, posing for pictures on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in a glamorous black gown. But she uses the interview to reveal that she drives the short distance to Congress ever since a mob of Trump supporters stormed the building, and to describe the misogyny facing successful women of color. Such is the hatred, she said, that she even fears making plans for the future. 'I hold two contradictory things [in mind] at the same time. One is just the relentless belief that anything is possible,' said Ocasio-Cortez, 32. 'But at the same time, my experience here has given me a front-row seat to how deeply and unconsciously, as well as consciously, so many people in this country hate women. 'And they hate women of color. 'People ask me questions about the future. And realistically, I can't even tell you if I'm going to be alive in September. 'And that weighs very heavily on me. And it's not just the right wing. Misogyny transcends political ideology: left, right, center.'... GQ bills her as 'the political voice of a generation—and a cultural star whose power transcends politics.' She got engaged to long-term boyfriend Riley Roberts in April. But in the interview with GQ she described her doubts about being with a white man, and whether a multiracial, multicultural relationship would be the right fit for her... And she explained why she revealed that she had previously been sexually assaulted during an Instagram post in which she talked about the attack on Congress. 'I could not talk about that day without disclosing it, because it was such a central part of my experience,' she said."
She's very good at repeating the code phrases that activate left wingers' programming. It's impressive how many she crammed in
Ron DeSantis accompanied wife to cancer treatment while critics claimed he was 'missing' - "Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis accompanied his wife to her cancer treatment while critics were accusing the governor of taking a vacation as coronavirus cases spiked... A DeSantis spokesperson said the governor accompanied wife Casey to cancer treatment Dec. 29, the day several left-wing critics accused the governor of "missing." DeSantis' announced in October that his wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer... Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., took to social media to criticize DeSantis and accuse him of being "inexplicably missing." "Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks," Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a tweet during a visit to Florida. "If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks." "In the meantime, perhaps I could help with local organizing," added Ocasio-Cortez, who was spotted maskless while drinking and dining outdoors in the Sunshine State. "Folks are quite receptive here." MSNBC host Joy Reid also lashed out at DeSantis, writing in a tweet: "A governor, not governing during a crisis; and sunning his belly on vacation instead. @GovRonDeSantis is the Nero of Ted Cruzes." DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw responded to Reid, attaching photos of DeSantis' daily schedule, and asked, "Have you ever considered that you’re one of the reasons nobody trusts the media?" DeSantis communications staffer Kyle Lamb also responded to critics on Twitter who were questioning whether DeSantis was on vacation, writing: "Just FYI, [DeSantis] is not on vacation. Literally no one from our office has said that he is. "Anyone pushing that could have easily seen the public schedule and seen that he's taking calls and meetings this past week," Lamb added. "Not having public events does not = 'vacation.'""
Of course, if he hadn't taken time off, she would likely have slammed him too. Naturally, left wingers praised Pete Buttigieg's *4 weeks* of paternity leave earlier the same year. But that's (d)ifferent. Clearly, those who criticise AOC just want to sleep with her
“Stay Mad”: AOC Slams Conservatives for Mocking Her Use of Trans-Inclusive Language - "Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) once again stepped up to the plate for the trans community, this time in response to conservatives who criticized her use of the phrase “menstruating people.”"

Sana Ebrahimi Ledene on X - "Nothing screams "fighting the patriarchy" like AOC wrapping herself in a hijab, the very symbol of women’s oppression, bowing down to Muslim men for cheap votes in her district. While she cosplays for the cameras at Eid, last week in Iran, 46-year-old Mojgan Hassanpour was shot dead by regime thugs for "improper hijab." Five bullets for showing too much hair. This is the brutal reality AOC is whitewashing with her performative virtue signal. Real women are dying to escape the hijab, and AOC is putting it on like it’s a fashion statement. How pathetic..."
AOC claims American Revolution was against billionaires of its time - "Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tripled down on her critique of billionaires Friday, claiming that the American Revolution was fought against the "billionaires of their time." "I want to talk about how this is in the heritage of our country, because America was founded… you look at Thomas Jefferson writing to Madison in revolt of British aristocracy," Ocasio-Cortez said at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics. "The American Revolution was against the billionaires of their time. And we are declaring independence from such an extreme marriage of wealth and power and the state that the voices of everyday people did not exist." Ocasio-Cortez was responding to criticism she received for her comments arguing billionaires didn't "earn" their fortunes and likely built their businesses on "abuse." "You can’t earn a billion dollars," Ocasio-Cortez said Thursday. "You can get market power. You can break rules. You can do all sorts of things. You can abuse labor laws. You can pay people less than what they’re worth. But you can’t earn that, right? And so you have to create a myth... you have to create a myth of earning it."... Ocasio-Cortez's comments received renewed criticism from conservatives who pointed out that many wealthy citizens, including George Washington, helped lead and finance the American Revolution against the British government, not the aristocracy. "No, AOC, the American Revolution was NOT 'against the billionaires of their time.' It was against a large, distant, overly intrusive government that recognized no limits over its own authority to tax, regulate, and eat out the substance of the citizens it claimed to serve," Utah Sen. Mike Lee wrote. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz commented, "If a 9th grader writes this on her history test, she gets an F. It was literally a revolution against oppressive GOVERNMENT…the very thing @aoc wants to inflict on all of us. And the Revolution was financed by American free enterprise…the 'billionaires' of that time." "Uh, if George Washington wasn’t the wealthiest man in the colonies he was pretty close," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wrote."

Guess We Better Talk About That "Deloitte is Dumping Chemicals in the River" Gaffe - "At a CNN Town Hall event last night, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made an unfortunate verbal typo about how Deloitte is poisoning rural rivers: “Rivers in rural areas were on fire because of corporations poisoning the people who lived in those areas. Poor, middle-class communities getting poisoned and dumped on by corporations like Deloitte and 3M pouring chemicals into these places.” Quite obviously a mix-up, one that may earn her a friendly chat from Deloitte legal counsel. You might even call it malapropism given that “Deloitte” sounds enough like “DuPont” to qualify and the thought of Deloitte dumping chemicals in the water is so cartoonishly evil it’s funny to imagine."
Arlen Parsa on X - "AOC graduated with honors from Boston University with double degrees in Economics and International Relations. Markwayne was the only Senator without even a bachelor’s degree. Hope that helps."
Brad Smith on X - "I'm not going to dis AOC's B.A., but do you really think earning a bachelor's degree is a more impressive achievement than taking a small family business w/ 6 employees and turning it into a company with over 300 employees and $20 million in annual sales? If so, you're an idiot."

AOC Spent Months Prepping For Disastrous Munich Appearance, Blames Conservatives For Poor Reviews - "The New York Democrat froze for approximately 20 seconds when a moderator asked whether America should deploy troops to defend Taiwan from a Chinese invasion, according to The New York Times (NYT). Her eventual response simply restated the nation’s longstanding strategic ambiguity policy. Ocasio-Cortez also confused “Trans-Pacific Partnership” with the transatlantic partnership during her remarks, an error she later acknowledged online, NYT reported. She further claimed Venezuela sits “below the equator” despite the country’s location in the Northern Hemisphere. Matt Duss, former foreign policy adviser to Sen. Bernie Sanders, worked with Ocasio-Cortez for months ahead of the conference, Politico reported. The pair connected approximately six times through video calls and face-to-face meetings after her invitation arrived. Her appearance was seemingly conceived as a rebuttal to Vice President JD Vance’s speech at the same venue last year. Ocasio-Cortez defended herself in an interview with NYT from Berlin, accusing conservative media of making “any five-to-10-second thing” go viral to “distract from the substance of what I am saying.”... The criticism, however, extended beyond conservative media. Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf told The Hill that Ocasio-Cortez is “not ready for prime time on the international stage.” “It was a beauty pageant to show that she had some chops about international issues, and she showed a complete lack of chops about international issues,” Sheinkopf said. Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald offered perhaps the sharpest critique. “Whoever convinced AOC that she had successfully completed her tutoring and was now ready to give book reports about foreign policy in public really should look for another line of work,” Greenwald said in a post on X."

1️⃣ First, fuck the MET. Poor people can't even attend the Metropolitan Museum of Art because it costs $25 to walk through the door (unless you drive, in which case it's $30 more to park). 🚗 [NOTE: For those commenting that admission is sometimes free for some people with a valid NYS ID during certain hours, please eat shit for once again missing the point. They still make $42 million per year on admission.] The fact the "Met Gala" is a fundraiser for an overpriced museum doesn't make it defensible or ethical. Let's be honest about what the Met Gala represents and upholds. The MET Gala is a celebration of capitalism and wealth. It's a fascist fashion show. Period.
2️⃣ Wearing anti-capitalist clothing to the Met Gala is like wearing a BLM shirt to a Klan rally. It doesn't do anything to challenge power. It doesn't progress legislation. It doesn't "pull the country further Left." It's just a way to virtue signal to the poor constituents who put their faith in politicians like AOC while they dance the night away with billionaires. At best, AOC is horribly out of touch to think she could play both sides by slapping a progressive catch phrase on a ball gown. At worst, she knows a two year term requires her to be in a constant state of campaigning with publicity stunts. 🤡
3️⃣ AOC's entire brand is meant to neutralize radical grassroots movements. Bernie and "The Squad" have syphoned HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS away from radical organizing efforts and towards electoral politics. AOC alone raises a cool $20 million(!) a year just to stay in office and attend galas like this. She's a drain on radicalism. Imagine what funds like that could do in the hands of those on the ground and on the front lines. 💰
4️⃣ The messaging of "Taxing the Rich" is outdated, passive, and suggests legislation can address income inequality in the United States. It can't, because our entire political system is dictated and controlled by corporations and billionaires. That's why liberal billionaires like Bill Gates even run around saying Tax the Rich. They know it will never happen. Politely asking rich people to tax themselves doesn't move us any closer towards that end. Which means AOC's message wasn't directed at the rich, it was directed at her Liberal fanbase. It's a way to drum up support without actually sacrificing or challenging oppressive institutions. It's Pelosi's condescending hand clap to Trump. It's John Lewis staging a "sit-in" on the House floor. None of those things lead to tangible changes for the most marginalized. 🛑
5️⃣ AOC has legitimate power and influence. With a single tweet she could have her supporters shut down the Bronx and Queens. She could actually mobilize her base to disrupt in ways that would lead to lasting changes. But every day she chooses not to because she enjoys her newfound fame and wealth and doesn't actually want to overthrow our capitalist system. YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE SYSTEM FROM WITHIN!
AOC is everything wrong with progressive movements. She's co-opted radical rhetoric and repackaged it for personal gain. And she's found ways to pacify oppressed people who still have faith in our irredeemably corrupt political system. 🗳️ The messaging on the dress is more than an insult. It's the perfect example of how electoral politics hold us back. ⛓️ We don't need performative politicians making hollow fashion statements. We don't need more celebrities in office fighting for our praise and attention. 👉🏽 We need empowered, well-organized movements that aren't beholden to the very institutions that seek to destroy us. We need to shut it all down. 🔥"

Ahmed Al-Khalidi on X - "What If You're Spreading Russian Propaganda Without Even Knowing It?
In July 1978, a two-star general walked into the U.S. Embassy in Bonn, West Germany, and said he wanted out. His name was Ion Mihai Pacepa, and he wasn't some low-level clerk. He was the acting chief of communist Romania's foreign intelligence service and a personal adviser to the dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu. That made him the most senior intelligence officer ever to defect from the Soviet Bloc, a record that still stands. He didn't just bring out a list of spies. He brought out the playbook for an entire lie-making machine. He claimed the people running that machine for free, decade after decade, were Western newsrooms and Western institutions. Pacepa wasn't watching from the sidelines. He helped run the thing. He ran Romania's spy station in Frankfurt, then ran its industrial espionage department, traveling the world and meeting people like Khrushchev, Mao, and Castro. He knew how the tricks worked because he'd spent years pulling them off himself. Ceaușescu took the defection personally. He set up a special unit to kill Pacepa, put two separate million-dollar bounties on his head, and even sent the famous terrorist "Carlos the Jackal" to track him down. Nobody got him. Pacepa lived the rest of his life under CIA protection, switching identities and hiding out, until he died of COVID-19 in 2021 at 92. When Pacepa first defected, President Carter didn't believe him and wanted to send him back, because Pacepa's own earlier lies had already convinced the president that Ceaușescu was a good guy worth trusting. The liar had to fight through his own lies just to get someone to believe him when he finally came clean. Pacepa said the Russian word for disinformation, "dezinformatsiya," was made up by Stalin, who picked a French-sounding name on purpose so people would think the whole thing came from the West. The plan was to make it look like a dirty trick used by greedy capitalists, when really it was cooked up in Moscow. Think about how slick that is. The name of the weapon was itself a lie, built so that anyone pointing at Soviet lies would accidentally be using a word designed to make those lies sound like a Western habit. The con was hidden inside the label. Pacepa described it less like shouting propaganda and more like a slow, careful trade. The Soviets didn't just blast lies into the air. The trick that worked best was to slip a made-up story into a friendly outlet, then sit back and wait for Western newspapers to pick it up and run with it, which scrubbed off the Russian fingerprints and made the lie look like real, trustworthy news. The toolkit came down to a few moves they used over and over. Fake documents, designed to fool reporters and only needing to hold up for a little while to do the damage. People who'd quietly push the story they wanted out there. And what they called "useful idiots," ordinary, sincere folks in the West who'd spread Soviet talking points while genuinely believing the ideas were their own. One East German spy chief once joked that Moscow called it dezinformatsiya, the Americans called it "active measures," and he called it "my favorite pastime." The goal was always the same: make the Soviets look good, make their enemies look like monsters, and get regular Western people to do the repeating for them. >>"

Adam Zivo: British socialists fracture over Islamic homophobia | National Post - "British progressives were scandalized last week when 5Pillars, a prominent Muslim news organization known for supporting the U.K. Green Party, published a homophobic “guide” on navigating Pride month. The incident laid bare the intellectual and moral incoherence of Islamo-left alliance, providing a useful case study for Canadians who feel anxious about Muslim-led intolerance. The short “practical” guide was written for Western Muslims and repeatedly emphasized that, according to Islamic texts and scholars, both homosexual acts and same-sex marriage are forbidden and immoral. Although it stated that same-sex attraction, being involuntary, is not inherently sinful, it encouraged homosexual Muslims to seek conversion therapy because acting on their desires is “religiously prohibited.” Homosexuality was framed as an affliction that calls for “compassion without compromise.” Parents were further advised to monitor their children’s information diet — whether through schools, social media or popular culture — and to neutralize LGBT-inclusive messages through Islamic teaching. The guide caused an uproar upon publication and attracted millions of views on X, partially because of its authors’ political associations. 5Pillars bills itself as “the largest English-language Muslim news site in Europe, Australia and the Americas,” and, though that self-promotional claim cannot be independently verified, the organization’s hundreds of thousands of social media followers confirm that it is not a fringe voice. This is concerning because, since launching in 2013, 5Pillars has repeatedly peddled Islamist extremism and antisemitic conspiracy theories. Among other things, its past content has minimized the Holocaust, accused “Zionists” of being behind an LGBT conspiracy, lauded the Taliban and called for the establishment of a global Caliphate. British regulators sanctioned the organization in 2020 after it published a video wherein co-founder Dilly Hussain — who personally has over 180,000 followers on X — described homosexuality as “a gross crime against Allah.” The organization was then sanctioned again in 2023 for publishing a podcast episode that, according to British authorities, encouraged “hatred and abuse” towards Jewish and LGBT people. Yet, late last year, 5Pillars began to enthusiastically promote the United Kingdom’s far-left Green Party — even though the Greens support radical gender ideology, want to legalize drugs and prostitution, and are led by Zack Polanski, a gay Jewish vegan who previously worked as a theatre actor and hypnotherapist. Most of the Greens’ political views may be haram, but they, like many British Muslims, vociferously criticize Israel and advocate for mass migration. This alignment has been enough to attract a flood of Muslim voters and candidates who believe that other progressive parties, including Labour, have supported the Palestinian cause and open borders too meekly. The Green Party has consequently transformed into an Islamoleftist chimera of conservative Muslims and radical socialists — two halves that share little in common beyond their disdain for western liberalism. Both Muslim and socialist Green candidates have increasingly embraced extremist rhetoric and have, in recent months, been criticized for glorifying Hamas and attacking so-called “Jewish supremacy.” 5Pillars has avidly supported this shift, and has, in recent months, published content promoting and endorsing the Greens. The organization even interviewed Polanski this January, spotlighting the Greens’ “all out bid for Muslim support.” The Greens then reshared this video on their official X account, only to remove it and distance themselves from 5Pillars after facing media scrutiny. Courting the Muslim vote has helped the Greens surge in the polls — from nine per cent to 15 per cent, roughly speaking — but critics have argued, not unreasonably, that this coalition is unsustainable. Many British leftists, like their counterparts throughout the West, romanticize Muslim communities and ignore the social conservatism of many. To them, “listening” to minority groups amounts to wishful projection — one need not worry about ideological contradictions within a world of fairytales. Yet, the publication of the “practical” Muslim Pride guide, with its blunt and uncompromising homophobia, seems to have somewhat dented this self-delusion, given the overwhelmingly negative online response. Even so, some British progressives have downplayed the issue. One of Britain’s most prominent trans activists, India Willoughby, for example, responded by falsely claiming that Muslims are more accepting of gay people than Christians (in reality, polls have consistently found the opposite). Socialist influencer Harry Eccles, previously a Green candidate, acknowledged homophobia among Muslims, but framed it as a superficial misunderstanding that could be fixed if Muslims simply grabbed coffee with homosexuals. But the 5Pillars team asserted, on social media and television, that their hardline views are representative of mainstream Islamic thought and that Muslim homophobia must be tolerated in a multicultural society. They further insinuated that their critics are just “blatantly racist.” “Looking at my replies, it seems to have come as big news to many people that Islam isn’t down with the LGBTQ crowd,” wrote 5Pillars editor Roshan Sailih on X: “Homosexual acts are a major sin according to the Qur’an. And nothing woke liberals say is going to change that.” Canadians beware: Islamoleftism is a growing force in our country too."
Roshan M Salih on X - "This is the issue from the Muslim community's perspective. "Part of the Afghan culture that abuses children has everything to do with Americans? Another stretch."
"Both sides, the tribal leaders and the Taliban, abuse children. The US decided to support the pedophiles in favour of US intervention, because they don't actually care about children, they care about imperialism."
