Lindsey Graham Slams Democrats: If Filibuster Is 'Tool of Racism, Why Did They Use It So Much?' - "Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) defended the filibuster on Thursday, which his Democrat colleagues have routinely characterized as racist, questioning why the left has used the supposed “tool of racism so much” when they were in the minority. “The President of the United States … has called every Republican, every person who supports Georgia voting reform, Jim Crow 2.0”... “Why did they use it to stop [Sen.] Tim Scott’s ability to have a discussion about police reform? This is hypocrisy and it’s not going to work.”"
Abolishing the Filibuster Is About Power, Not Anti-Racism - "As the Senate majority prepared to abolish the filibuster in order to advance its political agenda, a long-tenured member of the chamber issued a stern warning. "We should make no mistake. This nuclear option is ultimately an example of the arrogance of power. It is a fundamental power-grab by the majority party," then-Sen. Joe Biden (D–Del.) said during a speech delivered on May 23, 2005, from the Senate floor. Calling it "the single most significant" vote he would cast in more than three decades as a member of the Senate, Biden admonished Republicans for trying to blow up the filibuster to get judicial nominees confirmed with a simple majority. "Folks who want to see this change want to eliminate one of the procedural mechanisms designed for the express purpose of guaranteeing individual rights and they also, as a consequence, would undermine the protections of the minority point of view in the heat of majority excess"... The times, they sure have changed... Far from being a procedural mechanism meant to protect individual rights and guard against the tyranny of the majority, Biden says he now agrees with former President Barack Obama that the Senate's filibuster rules are "a relic of the Jim Crow era"—a line that has become the go-to explanation for progressives who would like to see the 60-vote requirement swept aside. (Obama, by the way, also defended the filibuster during the 2005 debate over the so-called nuclear option.) But the history of the filibuster predates the Jim Crow era by several decades... The better question to be asked is whether allowing the Senate to pass bills with a simple majority would improve government. Considering that Democrats are trying to shove it out of the way to speed through questionably constitutional gun control bills and even more spending, it's difficult for anyone who believes in limited government to cheer the filibuster's potential demise. But this is a debate that requires clarity, not misplaced accusations of racism. For what it's worth, Biden and the Democratic minority won the debate over the filibuster in 2005. A bipartisan group of senators—the Gang of 14 led by then-Sens. John McCain (R–Ariz.) and Ben Nelson (D–Neb.)—reached a deal in which the Republican members agreed not to deploy the nuclear option while Democratic members agreed not to block confirmation votes for future judicial nominees. It was an agreement that held up until 2013, when Democrats nuked the judicial filibuster to push through some of Obama's picks. When Republicans retook control of the Senate in 2014, they happily used the new rules to push through dozens of conservative appointees to the federal bench—something that Democrats and progressives now routinely complain about. There's a lesson here for Democrats in 2021. Nuking the legislative filibuster—especially when you have a majority so slim that a single election could flip control of the Senate back to the GOP—seems like a decision Democrats will regret sooner rather than later. It's a lesson Biden should know well. "Whenever you're in the majority, it's frustrating to see the other side block a bill or a nominee you support. I've walked in your shoes. And I get it," Biden said in that same 2005 speech. "There's one thing I've learned in my years here. Once you change the rules and surrender the Senate's institutional power, you never get it back.""
Study: 1.8 Million Dead People Still Registered To Vote - "Democrats and Republicans don't agree on much. But they do agree that voter registration lists across the country are a mess. A new report by the Pew Center on the States finds that more than 1.8 million dead people are currently registered to vote. And 24 million registrations are either invalid or inaccurate. There's little evidence that this has led to widespread voter fraud, but it has raised concerns that the system is vulnerable."

Woke and Weak CEOs - WSJ - "The public debate on Georgia’s new voting law has become a stew of falsehood, propaganda and panic. Part of the blame lies with the partisan distortion of Democrats, part with their media echoes, and now part with CEOs of major companies who are uninformed at best or cowardly at worst. Start with President Biden, the great unifier, who on Wednesday to ESPN called the law “ Jim Crow on steroids,” while saying he’d “strongly support” moving the Major League Baseball all-star game out of Atlanta. He’s picking up the smear about Georgia from Stacey Abrams, who still hasn’t accepted that she lost the race for Peach State Governor in 2018... Mr. Biden either doesn’t know what’s in the Georgia bill or he is lying about it. We’d like to believe it’s the former, but that gets harder to credit as his falsehoods multiply... Then there are the big companies racing out PR statements of condemnation, though what’s often most conspicuous is their vagueness... Why not stay silent if you don’t know what you’re talking about or can’t stand the heat?... When woke progressives target a company with tactics like a “die-in,” as Coke received last month, CEOs seem to view a mealy-mouthed statement as cheap insurance. But surely we should expect more from senior business executives, who are supposed to have some backbone and concern for the facts. They’d react with high dudgeon if similar falsehoods were spread about their companies. Yet so much of this CEO posturing cites no facts—or even fails to mention the word “Georgia.”... “Governments should be working to make it easier to vote, not harder,” said Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins. Georgia’s law does make it easier to vote, though it also tries to reassure citizens about ballot integrity. The state provides far more days of early voting than New York. It offers no-excuse absentee ballots, unlike Mr. Biden’s beloved Delaware. So who’s really suppressing whom? Georgia’s new law puts limits on drop boxes, but as Delta’s Mr. Bastian now regrets pointing out last week, it also makes them a permanent part of the voting system. In 2019, before Covid, drop boxes were illegal. CEOs may think there’s no downside to hopping on a bandwagon that insinuates that Georgia’s GOP leaders are inveterate racists. But far from dodging our partisan political warfare, they’re taking a side and promoting more division. They and their companies may pay the price when the woke mob decides to turn on them and they need GOP protection."

I just held up my hand and explained........ "then I'm not voting on the machine."...I continued...." If you've been paying attention, that's how they have been stealing elections and they're not going to steal my vote today." They prepared my wife and I paper ballots, which we have receipts for to confirm our votes. I asked if they would like to see my identification and they replied "no that's not necessary". I replied...."That's very disappointing." Anyone that thinks our elections are secure at this point are fucking morons. This is happening every election...in federal, state and local elections. The machines belong in the scrap yard. Identification should be required. I could have been voting proxy for someone who isn't voting and they have no way to check it. New Report Shows Widespread Non-Citizen Voting in Virginia - "In Virginia, non-citizens have not only succeeded in registering to vote by the thousands, many have actually cast ballots in recent elections. That’s the startling truth revealed in the latest edition of Alien Invasion, a report released last week by The Public Interest Legal Foundation. Like most truths, this one was not easy to come by. Old Dominion election officials made it as hard as possible for the foundation to get access to what are supposed to be public voting records. But thanks to the group’s dogged perseverance, we now know that the liberal mantra that “voter fraud is virtually nonexistent” is flat out wrong. PILF’s findings regarding massive voter registration irregularities are drawn from voting records that states must keep pursuant to the National Voter Registration Act, also known as the “Motor Voter” law. The NVRA mandates that states allow individuals applying for driver’s licenses to simultaneously register to vote. There is a problem, though. States do not extend licenses only to citizens. Legal resident aliens — and even illegal immigrants in states like California — are granted driver’s licenses as well. The only thing standing between these non-citizens and the voting rolls is a box that must be checked attesting to their citizenship. Some courts have wrongly interpreted the NVRA to hold that states are not permitted to seek any proof of citizenship and must instead take the claim at face value. Unsurprisingly, this porous barrier has allowed thousands of ineligible voters to slip through and onto Virginia’s voter rolls... According to PILF data, since 1988 some 1,852 non-citizens succeeded in voting 7,474 times in Virginia. Each illegally cast vote is likely a criminal act, yet PILF turned up no evidence that any of these cases was referred for prosecution. Such inaction deserves sharp criticism. In what other realm of potential criminal misconduct does the government take such a lackadaisical approach to enforcement?"
Not One Democrat Witness Agreed Only Citizens Should Vote - "During a Senate Judiciary Hearing on the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee asked the witnesses to provide a basic “yes” or “no” answer to a series of questions about non-citizens voting. “Do you believe that only citizens of the United States should be able to vote in federal elections?” Lee asked each of the witnesses. “We don’t have a position about non-citizens voting in federal elections, we believe that’s what the current laws are, and so we’re certainly fighting for everyone who is eligible under current law to vote,” Executive Director of The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law Damon T. Hewitt said. “That’s a decision of the state law but I want to emphasize –” President of Southwest Voter Registration Education Project Lydia Camarillo said. “It’s a decision of state law as to who should vote in federal elections?” Lee interjected. “States decide who gets to vote in various elections, and in federal elections I believe that we should be encouraging people to naturalize and then vote,” Camarillo said. “Okay but you’re saying that the federal government should have no say in who votes in a federal election?” Lee pressed. “I don’t have a position on that,” Camarillo responded. Director of the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project Sophia Lin Lakin told Lee, “Federal law prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections and our focus is on enabling all eligible voters to be able to vote and cast their ballot.” Only two witnesses, counsel at Public Interest Legal Foundation Maureen Riordan and Manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative at the Heritage Foundation Hans von Spakovsky said they do not believe non-citizens should be able to vote. Both were Republican witnesses... The John Lewis Voting Rights Act seeks to federalize all elections by stripping states and local jurisdictions from making changes to their elections without approval from federal bureaucrats. If the legislation is passed, the U.S. Justice Department could essentially take over an election if its left-wing allies claim minority voters are being harmed by something as simple as requiring an ID or proving citizenship to vote. A federal judge recently ruled Arizona’s law requiring individuals to prove U.S. citizenship in order to vote in a statewide election is not discriminatory and could proceed after leftists lodged a series of suits. New York Democrats Try to Block Ranked-Choice Voting - The Atlantic - "A subversion of democracy. A brazen attempt to overturn the will of voters. Modern-day voter suppression. An 11th-hour bid to cling to power. These are all charges Democrats have leveled against President Donald Trump as he’s challenged the results of the election that will force him from office. They’re all also accusations Democrats have hurled at one another in New York City over the past few weeks, in a bitter fight over how the city’s voters will choose a successor to Mayor Bill de Blasio next year... Critics of ranked-choice voting in New York have likened it to political “gentrification.” Without a proper education campaign, they say, the system would essentially disenfranchise lower-income voters of color, and those who do not speak English, because they lack the time and resources to devote as much research on the candidates and the system as other voters. “Those people are not going to be able to participate in ranked-choice voting the way that people that are more internet-savvy will be able to,” Laurie Cumbo, the majority leader of the City Council, told me. “This ranked-choice voting game is really a tool for those that are engaged in the internet world, with broadband, with having internet access... The criticism of ranked-choice voting on racial grounds infuriates Lewis and other nonwhite supporters of the system. “It was just insulting to me,” Lewis told me. “You want to say that voters are stupid.”"

Why Do Most Countries Ban Mail-In Ballots?: They Have Seen Massive Vote Fraud Problems - "Thirty-seven states have so far changed their mail-in voting procedures this year in response to the Coronavirus. Despite frequent claims that President Trump’s warning about vote fraud/voting buying with mail-in ballots is “baselessly” or “without evidence” about mail-in vote fraud, there are numerous examples of vote fraud and vote buying with mail-in ballots in the United States and across the world. Indeed, concerns over vote fraud and vote buying with mail-in ballots causes the vast majority of countries to ban mail-in voting unless the citizen is living abroad. There are fraud problems with mail-in absentee ballots but the problems with universal mail-in ballots are much more significant. Still most countries ban even absentee ballots for people living in their countries. Most developed countries ban absentee ballots unless the citizen is living abroad or require Photo-IDs to obtain those ballots. Even higher percentages of European Union or other European countries ban absentee for in country voters. In addition, some countries that allow voting by mail for citizens living the country don’t allow it for everyone. For example, Japan and Poland have limited mail-in voting to those who have special certificates verifying that they are disabled. France has made an exception this year to the ban on absentee ballots to those who are sick or at particular risk during the Coronavirus pandemic. Poland and two cities in Russia have adopted mail-in ballots for elections this year only, but most countries haven't changed their regulations. France banned absentee voting in 1975 because of massive fraud in Corsica, where postal ballots were stolen or bought and voters cast multiple votes. Mail-in ballots were used to cast the votes of dead people. Examples for other countries are provided."

Requires state election officials to ask about citizenship before providing voter registration forms.
Requires an individual to provide proof of citizenship in order to register to vote in federal elections.
Allows state officials to accept a wide variety of documents that will make it easy for CITIZENS to register to vote in federal elections.
Provides states with access to federal agency databases so they can remove noncitizens from voter rolls and confirm citizenship for individuals lacking proof of citizenship.
Directs DHS to determine whether to conduct removal proceedings if a noncitizen has been identified as having registered to vote in federal elections.
