ZUBY: on X - "The answers to many modern problems are simple but politically incorrect. So instead of solving anything, everybody pretends they don't know what's going on, and spend years misdiagnosing the issue, talking in circles, and wasting time."

Sweden “Finally” Scraps the Concept of ‘Islamophobia’ - "Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said on Friday that her government will no longer use the term ‘Islamophobia,’ describing the concept as “problematic”—not least because it “brings to mind the irrational fears of individuals.” The announcement was music to the ears of the right-wing populist Sweden Democrats, whose MEP Charlie Weimers on Monday said “Islamists exploit ‘Islamophobia’ to advance their agenda and secure EU funding.” Weimers celebrated that the government was “FINALLY scrapping the made-up concept” for good, as well as the fact it is pushing Brussels and United Nations officials to do the same. Malmer Stenergard last week told parliamentarians that “we are pushing for the term ‘Islamophobia’ to be replaced with what is called ‘anti-Muslim racism’ or ‘anti-Muslim hatred’ in English”—that is, across international institutions. Officials will gather in Brussels in part to discuss this in the third week of May. Sweden has similarly been leading the way in Europe in combatting the threat of Islamist infiltration posed by the Muslim Brotherhood—thanks especially to pressure exerted by Weimers and his team. Faw Azzat, who is an ambassador for GAPF, Sweden’s organisation against honour-related violence and oppression, also praised Malmer Stenergard’s scrapping of the term ‘Islamophobia,’ describing this as “a word that Islamists themselves created to equate criticism of a religion with racism against people. A semantic trick disguised as ‘antiracism.’” Her speech on the scrapping of the term followed a parliamentary question submitted by Sweden Democrats MP Richard Jomshof. He criticised politicians and journalists for having “chosen to swallow the Islamist bait, “adding that “the term is also used to attack liberal Muslims who, for example, fight for women’s rights and seek democratic reforms.”"

Sweden Takes Up the Mantle Against Islamist Infiltration - "After French officials this week ended decades of silence and accepted the threat posed to “national cohesion” by the Muslim Brotherhood—which they now say works to impose an ‘Islamic identity’ through demographic growth and the pressure of Islamised social norms—Sweden’s government has announced it is launching an investigation of its own... like France, Sweden faces challenges “regarding integration and countering parallel societal structures that challenge liberal democracy.” Swedish scholar Magnus Ranstorp praised this as “a very important initiative,” adding that those who have tried “for decades” to highlight the risks of rising Islamism have often done so “against the odds.”... Weimers will present a report which he says exposes how Brussels funds Islamism—as well as how to stop this—in the coming weeks."

Pascal-Emmanuel Gobry on X - "I want to make some sort of joke but actually I’m just sad and angry. New Zealand was a little paradise and she completely destroyed it in a matter of years."

Bruce McGonigal on X - "πŸ’‰πŸ’”πŸ’€ : In British Columbia it's legal for the government to lie to you about the risks associated with government policies & medical mandates. At the same time it's now illegal for your doctor to warn you the government is lying, which puts your life at risk."
Dr Mark Trozzi MD on X - "Health Care workers are fleeing BC as this Act takes effect April 1st. Doctors and nurses who will advice their patients honestly are either leaving the province, or will be stripped of their licenses. Only doctors and nurses who have been abused to the point of submission will remain. The people of BC are in grave danger!"
Harman Bhangu on X - "Amy Hamm was just the beginning. Now your doctor can’t even tell you the truth. he or her might know handing out free narcotics and “safe supply heroin” is destroying lives and that real treatment is the better option but they’ll still prescribe it anyway. Because if they dare question Dr. Bonnie or David Eby’s woke policies, they risk losing his or her license or get slammed with a $750,000 fine like Barry Neufeld. Honest doctors are fleeing BC. Sign the petition and send a direct message to Premier David Eby: Enough is enough. As your next Premier, I will dismantle these kangaroo courts and woke policies on day one."
Left wingers love to claim that medical decisions should just be between healthcare providers and patients, because they can only ever imagine this applying to abortion and transgender issues. But at the same time they demand that "conversion therapy" be banned, and they support this bill, of course

Killer's parole shortened partly due to racial equity measures
FischerKing on X - "Some details here. The murderer is Everton Javaun Downey, who is a 35 year old black man. He stabbed this gal 15 times in a public stairwell of a shopping center. He was sentenced to "life in prison." But that doesn't really mean "life" in Canada - there is a question of when he is eligible for parole. The prosecutors asked for no eligibility for 15 years. The judge reviewed an "Impact of Race and Culture Assessment" report. She determined that because he is black, he had a harder time of things - so she ruled he could be eligible for parole in 12 years. So she didn't actually reduce his sentence, just made it likely he gets out 3 years earlier, which may or may not happen. Still - this is crazy. His "IRCA" report was prepared by a social work professor at the University of Calgary named Patrina Duhaney. Relying on this report, the judge noted that Downey grew up in Toronto and reported no overt racism. But when he moved to British Columbia, there were fewer black people there, which apparently was hard on him - that's the extent of the "racism" he experienced."anti

"Ad hominem is the DNCs default, which is really ironic because they preach “fact checking” and “anti fascism”. But you’re a Nazi if you disagree with them with facts. The only facts allowed are their facts that are usually not sourced, though I usually don’t even get that far if I say anything that disagrees with the holy DNC. Honestly they’ve lost the plot in a really bad way."

Revealed: Greens hopeful who is calling for the UK to pay slavery reparations is a descendant of slave traders - "A Green Party candidate pushing Britain to pay trillions of pounds in slavery reparations is descended from a Nigerian royal family that traded slaves. Antoinette Fernandez is the 'reparations officer' for the party's Global Majority Greens group which campaigns for 'racial and environmental justice'. However, she is also the daughter of a billionaire oil baron who was one of Africa's richest men. The local election candidate has campaigned for British taxpayers to pay reparations for the transatlantic slave trade and said that politicians who oppose it 'show an appalling arrogance'. Ms Fernandez – who is standing for Zack Polanski's party in London – is the daughter of the Queen Mother of Lagos and is given the title 'princess' in the Nigerian press. Her mother is Abiola Dosunmu and her father is Antonio Deinde Fernandez, a late business magnate and UN ambassador who is said to have made his fortune in oil, gas and mining and had a reported net worth of $8.7billion (£6.5billion) when he died in 2015. Through her mother, the Green politician is a descendant of the Obas (kings) of Lagos, some of whom historians describe as 'major' slave traders that made 'lucrative commissions from slave deals'. One of Ms Fernandez's ancient relatives personally owned 1,400 slaves and another even brought back slaves that had been sent to Brazil to build houses in Lagos, according to one historian. The campaigner's family accrued wealth through the slave trade which they used to purchase 'velvet clothes, royal umbrellas, hats and stylish robes', the account adds. On Monday the Conservatives and Reform UK rounded on Ms Fernandez, branding her the 'ultimate hypocrite' for demanding hard-up Britons shell out for reparations. But the Green Party said that reporting Ms Fernandez's lineage is 'racist' and a 'bad-faith attempt to undermine the case for reparative justice'. Britain abolished the slave trade in 1807 and then spent millions of pounds – billions in today's money – and thousands of sailors' lives putting an end to the practice worldwide."
It's only good faith to link someone's lineage to slavery if the person is white

The moral sickness poisoning Lord Hermer’s Britain - "In May 2004, Lance Corporal Brian Wood walked into an ambush with a patrol of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders in the Maysan marshes. Around 100 Mahdi Army fighters opened fire on them. For his conduct in the three hours of intense combat that followed, Wood was awarded the Military Cross. Lawyers funded by the taxpayer then spent a decade accusing him of murder. A man who played an important part in that ordeal is now the chief legal officer of the Crown for which Wood was risking his life. And now we know what Lord Hermer always thought of Wood and his fellow combatants. He wrote to a junior solicitor that the lawyers pursuing the case had made a real difference to people’s lives in a way the soldiers they had falsely accused could never claim. It is hard to think of a more instructive glimpse into how he and the Prime Minister who appointed him view the world... What Hermer believes, and what most of the human-rights industrial complex believes, is what Martha Nussbaum and others have labelled moral cosmopolitanism. On that view, what we owe to strangers is no different in kind from what we owe to our own... applied to a soldier, cosmopolitanism dissolves everything that motivated him to become a soldier. It abstracts him from every web of belonging that invests his sacrifice with meaning and leaves him as a bare individual on a ledger, recorded next to the foreign militiaman who shot at him. A soldier trained in a code that scorns self-pity will rarely present himself as a claimant, whereas a foreign militiaman hostile to the nation the soldier defends will learn precisely how to do so. To treat a soldier and his hostile claimant as moral equals is not fair or even-handed. And there is a name in moral philosophy for treating unequal positions as equal: injustice. Hermer’s emails crystallise the mindset animating every other surrender of British interest under this Government. The Chagos archipelago is ours by treaty and indispensable to our national interest. If the deal that was struck in 2024 goes ahead, it will be given to Mauritius out of deference to a non-binding advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, while the British taxpayer will receive a bill of billions to lease back what we already owned. Similarly, the Ministerial Code was rewritten in November 2024 to require ministers to comply with international law. Lord Hermer himself told Parliament that the reasons we couldn’t leave the European Convention on Human Rights (even when it stops us from deporting foreign criminals) were on the basis that doing so would be against the national interest. By that he means the architecture of treaties that ties this country’s hands. Protecting its subjects is the first thing the Crown is for. Hermer has spent 30 years undoing that protection from the outside; he is now charged with administering it from within. The Crown exists to protect its subjects, yet the man whose practice was attacking British soldiers in the courts is now the lawyer the Crown turns to first. The pattern stretches back further than Iraq. Scandalously, Tony Blair issued (in secret) more than 200 “comfort letters” to suspected IRA terrorists. One of these letters prompted the collapse of the prosecution of John Downey for the Hyde Park bombing of 1982, in which four troopers and seven horses were killed. And 40 years after they neutralised the IRA’s East Tyrone Brigade in 1987, the SAS members involved will be forced to account for themselves in a coroner’s court. A nation is something far older and more demanding than a contract drawn up for the mutual provision of comfort. It’s a debt owed to those who made it, and held in trust for those who’ll hold it after us... Wood led a bayonet charge against an ambush at inconceivable risk to his life while Lord Hermer was drafting emails in his chambers. Few will be willing to fight and die for Britain for as long as he – and the Prime Minister who appointed him – remain in office."

Thread by @willsolfiac on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "Can't believe I only just found out what 'institutional racism' as in the Stephen Lawrence enquiry actually means. I'd always assumed (and I'm sure this was the intention of the language) that it meant something like what people think of as racism, but rampant and normalised within an institution. But in fact their idea of institutional racism is a mix of unprovable 'unconscious bias', insensitivity, and observations of things like black people being more likely to be stopped and searched. The actual deficiencies in the murder case are just generalised incompetence. As they say: "In this Inquiry we have not heard evidence of overt racism or discrimination". What they're really talking about is: "Unwitting racism can arise because of lack of understanding, ignorance or mistaken beliefs. It can arise from well intentioned but patronising words or actions. It can arise from unfamiliarity with the behaviour or cultural traditions of people or families from minority ethnic communities. It can arise from racist stereotyping of black people as potential criminals or troublemakers." This was the basis on which vast amounts of the British state was transformed.
Much of the evidence seems to be that the police didn't deal sensitively with family and friends, and didn't view is as solely a racist attack. Whatever the truth of this, it's not very relevant to actually solving the case.
The full evidence for institutional racism: inensitivity, stop and search, under reporting of racist incidents, and not giving race awareness training to officers. The evidence relating to the actual Stephen Lawrence case is just generalised incompetence."

Thread by @arctotherium42 on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "My view: the Great Awokening is over, but, by default, will be back even worse in 20 years. This cycle has already happened twice, with the 60s/70s New Left and 90s PC. Each time, some of the worst excesses are undone but nowhere near enough to reverse the previous wave. What I think causes the ~20 year cycle is the education system; the natural result of paying attention in school is to be an insane leftist. Every major conflict in US history, and most in world history, is taught as left vs right (sometimes "reformers" vs conservatives"), with the left always winning, always being in the right, and always vindicated by history. It's very simple to extrapolate from that! Each generation tries leftism, sees it fail disastrously (crime, welfare, immigration), and partly backs off, but this experience *isn't* transmitted intergenerationally, and then a new generation whose knowledge of past conflicts comes from school grows up. (When I was growing up, I never understood why Reagan was so popular; hadn't he been racist and mean to the gays and poors? I had to read right-wing literature from the 60s/70s/80s to understand what he was fighting; my guess is <1% of people do this.) Then there's a ratchet: every year institutions get browner, more female, less Protestant, and more temporally distant from the world before the 60s revolution; at this point we're several generations in. So the "leftist waterline" keeps rising. Things that only fringe Communists believed in 1960 are now mainstream beliefs... in the Republican Party, and would be considered incurably reactionary within the Democrats."

Wilfred Reilly on X - "Important point here: Every generation features a clash between the right and the left, where the right is perhaps 90% correct (think "trans rights" or "busing") and wins the majority of the time. Most mutations, genetic or memetic, are bad. But, no one really remembers policy initiatives that stall or fail (AFDC, government health care, police defunding) - and even right-wing wins (Berlin Wall, entire Cold War, phonics) tend to be intentionally minimized by US media and academia. The impression most people really do have is of society smoothly moving left."

bender871 on X - "The left was always Marxist. I realize this only now, after being a deluded progressive and useful idiot for many years. The causes were never the causes; the cause was always Marxist destabilization, delegitimization of Western civilization, and ultimately, revolution. Foreign actors (the usual suspects: China, Russia, Iran) supported this, but it was not just foreign influence. After the proletariat had failed to deliver revolution (because capitalism just performed too well, even for the working poor), leftists had pivoted to new revolutionary causes: race, "gender", sexuality, climate, etc. They sold these ideas well and weaponized a lot of good will. We thought we supported civil rights, but we actually supported perpetual racial grievance, third world score-settling and reverse colonization, the deconstruction of sex and biology, and of objective reality itself. We thought we supported protecting the environment, but we actually supported Malthusianist intentional deconstruction of modern civilization and a return to bitter scarcity and poverty - the conditions our ancestors had labored for centuries to overcome. That is a lot of betrayal to process, for millions of people. The enormity of the deception we fell for boggles the mind. None of this means that progressive dreams for a better world are wrong. It just means that the left is not the political force that will make it a reality, or even bring it one step closer."

Massimo on X - "A man marching forward, blinded by a flag. It's Banksy’s new statue appeared overnight in London’s Waterloo Place."

Coddled Affluent Professional on X - "This is a good statue ackshually because it explicitly signals the governing establishment ideology: Managed democracy, the diminution of national politics where elected leaders hold real power and are accountable to the public, the supremacy of the Omnicause, and cultural programming that has no purpose other than discouragement and belittling legitimate political interests. It’s rare that they’re so explicit about it and roll out such clumsy propaganda so that’s why this is good, why it is in fact a very good status."

The Heretical Liberal πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ on X - "Banksy art doesnt hit at all anymore, because liberal positions arent radical and subversive like they were when he started, they've become the Establishment. Theres nothing remotely cool about art whose messaging reflects the official positions of Government, Corporate HR departments, mainstream media, academia, and every other mainstream institutional pillar of society. This is like a group of hard-core activists marching down the street, clenched fists in the air chanting "Support the Power!""

Council removes Banksy artwork after complaints of racism - "The work showed five grey pigeons holding up signs including one stating “go back to Africa” towards a more colourful migratory swallow. One of the pigeons’ signs read “migrants not welcome”, while another held a placard that read “keep off our worms”... It has been suggested that the council did not realise that Banksy was responsible for the work before scrubbing it off the wall. Other pieces he has painted have been valued in six figures."

So Much for 'Diversity:' University of Toronto Turned Communal Prayer Room Into Muslim-Only Space - "the "heavy usage" by Muslim students justified the change. Drawing this out to its logical conclusion, soon stores will be prohibited from selling pork and alcohol, and other spaces will be tailored to make Muslims feel welcome at the expense of others... The Left thinks they can use Islamism as a tool to destroy the West without facing the consequences of that action. Unfortunately for them, Islamists will come after their pet causes, too... The Left doesn't object to discrimination and segregation when they do it in the name of "tolerance" and "diversity." And it's not just happening in Canada. In Nashville, a school allows Muslim students to leave class early during Ramadan and once a month for prayers, adjusting the bell schedule. In California, Muslims use a high school gym for Friday prayers. In Texas, a classroom was converted into a prayer room, and the same happened in Milwaukee. Minnesota schools are remodeling and including prayer rooms with foot washing stations. Meanwhile, Christian holidays are erased from the calendar and celebrations are prohibited."

Thread by @hogotheforsaken on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "I used to be leftwing, anti-racist, feminist. I still am actually all of those things. But I now recognise that the left, the anti-racist movement, and the feminist movement have been taken over by 5th columnists, and now stand for the exact opposite of their original aims. 🧡
All 3 movements - the left, the antiracist movement, and feminism - are now overridden with racist Jew haters and misogynistic trans activists. I have long suspected that this ideological takeover is not an organic, people-driven shift. I think we are victims of deliberate manipulation, and my instinct + evidence suggests the agents of this manipulation are Russia, Qatar money, and the IRGC & affiliates. We are being manipulated by a “remarkably effective analogue toolkit, rooted in Soviet-era tactics of infiltration, co-optation, and manipulation.”"
