Harvard rejects Trump demands, gets hit by US$2.3 billion funding freeze - "The funding freeze comes after the Trump administration said last month it was reviewing US$9 billion in federal contracts and grants to Harvard as part of a crackdown on what it says is antisemitism that erupted on college campuses during pro-Palestinian protests in the past 18 months...   The department demanded that Harvard, work to reduce the influence of faculty, staff and students who are "more committed to activism than scholarship" and have an external panel audit the faculty and students of each department to ensure "viewpoint diversity".  The letter also stated that Harvard, by this August, must only hire faculty and admit students based on merit and cease all preferences based on race, color or national origin.  The university must also screen international students "to prevent admitting students hostile to American values" and report to federal immigration authorities foreign students who violate conduct rules."
Hate speech, targeting minorities, a lack of diversity, racial discrimination and violating established law are only bad when they threaten the left wing agenda

Jews Fight Back 🇺🇸🇮🇱 on X - "🚨HARVARD LAW IS NOW AN ANTISEMITIC WIKIPEDIA TROLL FACTORY🚨  This isn’t a joke. Harvard Law hosted an actual Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon so their anti-Israel students could smear law firms, rewrite history, and cover up antisemitism on campus.  They targeted the Wikipedia pages of law firms that DARED to call out the Jew-hatred raging at Harvard. They didn’t just smear the firms—they rewrote incidents of antisemitic attacks, swapping terms like “antisemitic incident” with the sanitized “pro-Palestine protest.”  This wasn’t some rogue act. It was organized. It was announced on Harvard Law’s website. It happened on campus.  This isn’t activism. It’s institutionalized antisemitism, plain and simple. They’re not fighting for “justice”—they’re fighting to erase Jews from public life, one Wikipedia edit at a time. Every single firm they targeted should pull recruiting from Harvard IMMEDIATELY. Every donor should shut the money faucet NOW.  Harvard isn’t a university anymore. It’s a propaganda lab rotting from the inside out."

Thread by @chalavyishmael on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "🚨 BREAKING: Harvard Just Released its Final Report on Antisemitism and Anti-Israel Bias.  It’s 300+ pages and pretty devastating to read.  I thought I knew what was going on at Harvard, but even I wasn't prepared for this.  Let's break down the most shocking parts🧵
A Jewish student was told they couldn’t share the story of their Holocaust-survivor grandfather’s rescue efforts because he helped Jews reach British Mandate Palestine.  Organizers said it was “not tasteful” and “inherently one-sided” because it mentioned Israel. Many Jewish and Israeli students were told their presence was offensive.  Some were asked to denounce Israel to be considered “one of the good ones.”  This came from every part of campus including peers, instructors, and faculty. Jewish students on academic trips were told their “Jewish tradition had become indistinct from a settler-colonial project.”  Some were told they shared guilt for "atrocities" committed by Israel. After Oct 7, Jewish students faced an avalanche of hatred on anonymous apps.  This digital harassment contributed heavily to a climate of fear and isolation.  Posts saying “Israel deserved it” were upvoted.  “It was surprising to see educated people post such horrible things” Some students posted images reading “Decolonization is not a metaphor” with blood dripping from the text labeled as Jewish blood.  Other posts regularly used terms like “Israeli scum” and “Zionist dirtbags.”
Israeli students had it particularly hard. Many avoided certain degree programs, courses, and class discussions because of antisemitic hostility.  One said they felt every comment was filtered through: “The Israeli is speaking.” One administrator told a Jewish student they were in “a whole world of trouble” for deleting horrifically offensive antisemitic posts from a group chat. At a Harvard Law event for the families of the hostages, Harvard chose to move the Jewish students for safety reasons while protestors roamed around freely.  “They walk around like they own the place.”
As we well know, chants like “Globalize the Intifada” were widespread on campus.  Many Israeli students on campus survived the Second Intifada and said that hearing it chanted daily was traumatizing.  Anyone who spent time in Israel during that period knows what they mean. At a Harvard’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies event in Harvard Divinity School, Oct 7 was described as an attack on “Israeli Jewish settlements.” in an effort to dehumanize the victims and erase the civilian massacre that took place. At the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Healths "Palestine Program", Israel was portrayed as existing only to oppress Palestinians.  When Jewish students raised concerns, they were asked, “Who is more marginalized, Jews or Palestinians?” In a university-wide survey, most respondents said they do not feel safe expressing their political views.  They feared academic or professional consequences.  Some shocking stats from Jewish students. 👇
The rest of the report continues in much the same vein, though it places significant emphasis on anti-Muslim hate which I found odd, given that a separate report was commissioned to address that.
This report is a damning indictment of the most prestigious university in America.  That it took Trump getting elected to force change is an embarrassment.  That the president quit because she couldn’t say calling for genocide is wrong is shameful. Can anyone seriously imagine Harvard treating any other minority the way it treated Jews over the past year and a half?  The utter disdain and complete disregard for their well-being is visible on nearly every page of this report.
I'm not optimistic that this report will change anything.  But it guess it's a start...
I'd also like to mention that Harvard has recently been accused of collaborating with a CCP paramilitary organization that has actually committed genocide.  There were no protests on campus."

SIU says 17-year-old killed in shootout was attempting to lure police and kill them - "A 17-year-old Aurora teen who was gunned down in a hail of bullets last October was attempting to lure police and kill them, according to a report issued Thursday by the province’s Special Investigations Unit.  The police watchdog says York Regional Police responded to a 911 call on October 30, 2024, about a break and enter in progress at a home on Downey Circle. The first police officer arrived at the scene around 7:38 p.m. and was met with gunfire coming from the second floor of the home.  The report claims the teen fired “upwards of 20 rounds from a rifle” before leaving the home wearing a tactical vest and holding a shotgun. After being ordered by police to drop his weapon, the teen reportedly told the officer to “shut up,” saying he would kill him before firing several rounds from the shotgun and striking one of the officers in the face.  After chasing the teen across several homes on Downey Circle, police ordered him to drop his weapon. The teen reportedly responded “F**k you,” and fired a shot in the direction of police officers. One officer fired a single round that knocked the teen down, but he got up holding a machete and began moving towards police.  “The subject officials fired multiple rounds, and the [teen] fell again, this time on the roadway. The [teen] rolled to his right in the direction of the machete he had dropped, and was met and struck by a second volley of shots,” says the report.   The teen was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 8 p.m. He was later identified by the family as Mikail Rashid.  Rashid’s mother told CityNews that the boy lived at home with her ex-husband and was alone at the time of the incident.  “I think it was a break-and-enter, but how can he be the break-and-enter person when having dinner in his own house? That doesn’t make sense to me,” said Lala Rukh.  “For whatever reason, it seems the Complainant had set in motion a plan to lure police to his home where it appeared he intended to shoot and kill officers responding to a fake report of a break and enter in progress,” SIU Director Joseph Martino wrote. “He heavily armed himself with firearms and a machete, and had fired multiple rounds at [Witness Officer #1] and other officers by the time he made his way onto the driveway of Residence #2.”"

Caroline Elliott: It’s not racist ‘denialism’ to appreciate Canada’s tolerance, despite what the B.C. NDP may say - "British Columbia’s NDP government recently introduced their Anti-Racism Act, which sounds well-intentioned enough. After all, racism is an ugly reality that must be countered in Canada, as in all countries.  However, a closer look at the documentation supporting the Act reveals it is based on a divisive ideology that cynically characterizes as “naïve denialism” the idea that we ought to try to reduce racial tensions by building relationships across our differences.  Under the legislation, B.C.’s public bodies (ministries, hospitals, schools and so on) must set race-based hiring and advancement targets based on a regressive worldview that defines people by their identity instead of their ideas, by their appearance instead of their abilities, and by the colour of their skin instead of the content of their character.  The report on a public questionnaire conducted to inform the legislation dismisses any answers that didn’t fit its premise as “denialist,” even when those views were submitted by those identifying as “Indigenous, Black or people of colour” (54 percent of respondents self-identified as “IBPOC,” and 37 percent as “white”). What’s more, these non-conforming views are seen as something to be taken apart and fixed. As the report notes, “denial of systemic racism was found across ethnicities, suggesting the need for a closer look at foundational drivers of culture, how those persist, and what can dismantle it.”... The report acknowledges that “there was a consistent theme of denial of systemic racism and racial trauma across all demographic groups.”  How the government defines such “denialism” is especially troubling.   One respondent suggested that “…what reduces racial tension and increases interpersonal harmony is promoting openness and people spending time with people who are different from themselves.” This is coded by the report’s authors as “denialism,” and sub-categorized as “naivete.”  Another stated “We are a multicultural society, with diverse populations, where everyone is celebrated. B.C. should focus on preventing and supporting people on the streets with real problems, and not made-up problems like systemic racism.” This is coded as “denialism,” sub-category: “anti-diversity.”  One immigrant’s perspective that “Racism is not an issue in Canada; I have experienced more discrimination in my country of origin than here” is coded as “general denialism.”  The vilification of views that emphasize togetherness, celebrate diversity, and see Canada as a relatively tolerant nation, is indicative of a pernicious cynicism on the part of this government that is already well-established across B.C.’s institutions.  As an example, one needn’t look further than the Vancouver Police Department’s race-based handcuff policy, according to which officers should consider a person’s “ethnicity, or whether they are part of other equity deserving groups” before applying handcuffs.  Many B.C. universities have hiring policies that entirely exclude applicants based on race, and race-segregated spaces have become common. SFU’s Black Student Centre is justified based on calls from students for “different spaces for students who are not white.”   My own child’s elementary school is plastered with government-produced posters offering “anti-racism reminders,” admonishing kindergartners that “If you are unaware of your privilege, you might be privileged,” and darkly warning that “Racism sometimes hides in politeness.”  And now, B.C.’s Anti-Racism Act will require all public bodies to set race-based recruitment and advancement targets to ensure “racialized individuals” are hired and promoted to senior levels. This is despite studies showing that, when it comes to income, education, occupations and test scores, several racialized groups are doing better than the white population. While there are certainly populations that are doing worse than others and are thus deserving of special attention, many of the racialized groups targeted by these policies are already seeing well-earned success on their own merit. The legislation ignores this, dividing the British Columbians into oppressors (white people) and the oppressed (everyone else), regardless of real disparities within those groups... If it’s serious about combatting hate, the B.C. government should stop trying to find it in bona fide sentiments like these and instead condemn the blatant hatred regularly spewed against the Jewish community in its own capital. (It won’t, though, because this issue doesn’t neatly fit its oppressor/oppressed binary).

Canadian military deployed “gender advisors” to Ukraine, Haiti - "The Canadian Armed Forces has been deploying “gender advisors” to international operations, including in Ukraine and Haiti, as part of a broader push to integrate gender ideology into military activities abroad.  This initiative, highlighted in the Department of National Defence’s recently released 2024 Departmental Report, is drawing sharp criticism from veterans and observers who question its relevance during active conflicts and humanitarian crises...   According to the report, “gender advisors” and “gender focal points” were dispatched to Canadian military missions in Poland, Ukraine, Haiti, and Latvia throughout 2023.   “In Poland, the Task Force Gender Advisor was involved in all aspects of this training mission and supported the local Defence Attaché in connecting with local and Ukraine-based non-governmental organizations and interested parties,” reads the report. Additionally, the report notes that in Haiti, “intersectional factors (were) being applied towards stabilization and humanitarian efforts.”...   According to the action plan, there are three full-time gender advisors embedded in the CAF at the strategic and operational levels. All missions receive at least a part-time Gender Focal Point.  “A Gender Advisor is a full-time position, usually a military position, and a Gender Focal Point is a part-time position; these exist to support Commanders in the application of GBA+ and gender perspectives in both the institutional and operational realms. Gender Focal Points are positioned throughout CAF. In-theatre, there is a minimum of one GFP on all named missions,” explains a Department of National Defence report...   “GBA was initially created to factor in female characteristics into the procurement of military materiel and has since been transformed into a useless overbearing policy that has infiltrated every aspect of the Canadian Armed Forces,” said MacGillivray.  MacGillivray questioned the utility of these efforts in the field, particularly in high-stakes environments. “I doubt that countries at war or in a humanitarian crisis that we are trying to help care about gender nonsense being pushed by Canada when they are struggling to keep people alive,” he added."

Liberal Women Mock "Republican Makeup" On TikTok And Accidentally Look Hotter - "The trend appears to have been started by influencer Suzanne Lambert, who dubs herself a “liberal Regina George” and built a whole persona around the idea that liberals are "too nice," despite over half of the country and nearly every demographic frequently recounting the exact opposite experience.  In one video, she complains that conservatives can’t handle her mean-girl tactics because they’re too accustomed to “peace, love, and sunshine liberals”—which raises the obvious question: What liberals is she talking about?... Nevertheless, she posted a “tutorial” implying that Republican women are bad at applying makeup. The quickly took off, with other liberal women joining in, wiping away their heavy contouring and bold, exaggerated features in favor of a softer, more feminine look they assumed would be a downgrade. Instead, each transformation only proved the obvious: feminine makeup is effortlessly flattering.  The comments were a hilarious mix of genuine amazement at the transformations and people amused by the hard-to-ignore irony. Lambert and her fellow mean girls set out to mock Republican women only to accidentally make themselves look exponentially more attractive in the process. The captions, which often mock consevative women for being religious, living close to their families, or wanting a family of their own, likely reveal the true purpose of the #Republicansona challenge: giving liberals a chance to air their prejudices towards women who are more attractive, happier, well-liked, have loving families, and practice Christianity. According to them, these traits are inherently “Republican”—and honestly, who am I to argue? The research backs it up. It’s reminiscent of the recent New York Magazine debacle, where the publication attempted to mock a group of Republican college students but inadvertently made them look iconic instead. Liberal women online frantically insisted, “No, no, they were making fun of you!” while completely missing the fact that their so-called enemies looked objectively attractive despite the magazine's best efforts to make them look bad."
