it's not entirely true that mammon is the only path to prosperity
but the hypocrisy offends me

at least working for mammon, i know where i stand, and everyone knows it
ie. that i work for EVIL

it's also partly why i never donate to charities
i'd rather directly do community service or give money to beggars
(although the latter is more out of superstitious fear and karma than genuine charity)
