Links - 11th March 2024 (2 - Joe Biden)

Biden dined, telephoned, emailed Hunter's cash cronies - "  In 2013, Hunter accompanied then-Vice President Biden on a trip to China.  In Beijing, Mr. Biden and Hunter met with Chinese banker Jonathan Li. A week later, Hunter completed a deal with Mr. Li to create a private equity firm called BHR. Later, the vice president sent a letter to a college endorsing Mr. Li’s son for admission.  The letter was facilitated by Hunter’s business manager, Eric Schwerin. IRS whistleblowers found 327 emails between either the elder Biden, using a pseudonym, and Mr. Schwerin.  As vice president, Mr. Biden engaged in numerous contacts with Devon Archer. Mr. Archer and Hunter partnered on investment LLCs. And they served on the board of the Ukraine conglomerate Burisma; around the same time in 2014, Vice President Biden took on the diplomatic role of White House point man in Kyiv.  Mr. Archer told House investigators that Mr. Biden called in 20 times or more to Hunter and his foreign business associates during dinners and meetings.  Russian millionaire Yelena Baturina met with Mr. Biden at a dinner in Washington. The date came shortly after she wired one of Mr. Hunter’s investment firms, Rosemont Seneca, $3.5 million in 2014.  Also, that year saw the emergence of Kazakh millionaire oligarch Kenes Rakishev. He wired over $142,000 to another Hunter-Archer cash drop, Rosemont Seneca Bohai, for the express purpose of buying Hunter a luxury car.  Mr. Rakishev also dined with Vice President Biden at Georgetown’s Cafe Milano.  The trendy restaurant was the setting in 2015 for another high-powered Hunter-brokered dinner attended by his dad, the vice president.  This dinner also blended the Biden network of donors. From Ukraine was Vadym Pozharsky, the emissary for Burisma’s scandal-prone owner, Mykola Zlochevsky. From Kazakhstan was Karim Massimov, a career government power figure and a crony of Mr. Rakishev with whom Hunter worked on Ukraine-China energy deals.  The cozy setting put Vice President Biden in sustained close contact with Mr. Pozharsky. In emails contained in Hunter’s laptop uncovered by the New York Post, Mr. Pozharsky urged Hunter in 2014 to use his influence to end a state investigation into his boss.  Shortly thereafter in 2015, Joe Biden told Ukraine higher-ups to fire the prosecutor targeting Burisma or lose U.S. money. They fired Viktor Shokin in February 2016.  That year, Mr. Biden met with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis at the White House.  Later, scandal-scarred Romanian businessman Gabriel Popoviciu began sending money to longtime Biden family associate Rob Walker’s LLC. Over two years, the Romanian sent the LLC over $3 million. Of that, $1 million was transferred to Biden family members, including Hunter, the House Oversight Committee found.  Hunter Biden’s task was to end Romania’s prosecution of Mr. Popoviciu. He met with U.S. and Romanian diplomats.   Tony Bobulinski, a global investor, told then-Fox News show host Tucker Carlson about meeting the former vice president in a darkened hotel bar in California in 2017. He, Hunter, Hunter’s uncle James Biden and others were assembling a new investment firm, SinoHawk, in a partnership with the main Biden Chinese cash cow, CEFC Energy, and tycoon Ye Jianming.  In sum, the list of Mr. Biden’s direct contacts with Hunter Biden business associates reads this way: Hunter’s business partners Devon Archer and Eric Schwerin; Tony Bobulinski; Jonathan Li of China; Yelena Baturina, a Russian national; Karim Massimov and Kenes Rakishev of Kazakhstan; and Vadym Pozharsky of Ukraine.  Of the cast of Hunter’s funders, this update: Mr. Ye was detained in 2018 by Chinese authorities and has not been seen in public; Mr. Pozharsky’s boss, Burisma’s Mr. Zlochevsky, has been under investigation, on and off, for bribery and theft; Mr. Popoviciu fled Romania after being sentenced to seven years in prison; the U.S. Treasury Department accused a Rakishev company in 2018 of money laundering."

Xi Van Fleet on X - "Biden sounds just like Mao and Xi too. In short, Biden sounds like a Communist dictator!"

i/o on X - "His arms don't swing when he walks; his gait is hesitant and constricted in its stride; his speech is soft and slurred and his face often a expressionless mask; most of his body and limb movements seem to happen in slow motion — all of these are suggestive of Parkinson's."

Biden blasted for telling young girl 'no serious guys until you're 30': 'Creepy Joe is at it again' - "President Joe Biden drew criticism from conservatives on social media over a comment he made to a young teenager in California where he told her "no serious guys until you’re 30."  "Now a very important thing I told my daughters and granddaughters — no serious guys until you’re 30!" Biden said to an unknown young woman at an event in Irvine, California.  "Ok," the woman said as the president leaned in close. "I’ll keep that in mind." Video of the exchange was posted on Twitter by reporter Kalen D’Almeida, who claimed members of the Secret Service tried to prevent him from filming"

As Biden agenda fails, woke agenda will rise: Ramaswamy - ""The more inflation we see, the more supply and trade shortages we see, the more foreign policy disasters we see, the more you're going to see the Biden administration talking about racism or misogyny, or bigotry or whatever as a way of changing the subject," he said. "The Biden administration using and projecting these progressive values as a smokescreen to deflect accountability for their actual policy failures."... "You saw it in Afghanistan, for example. You have the Taliban coming to power. You have actual terrorists coming to power in a place that we left just a couple of months ago. And yet the thing that we're actually talking about with Merrick Garland is domestic terrorism in the form of parents who are actually putting up protests to the way their kids are being taught in school. [It's] a classic example of changing the subject"... "As you begin to see an economic recession and economic consequences in this country, as you begin to see inflation, as you begin to see gas prices go up, I think we're actually going to see the rise of the Occupy Wall Street Left come back and say we on the left need to be going back to arguing about economic inequality, as opposed to talking about racism and misogyny and bigotry."  "And you know what? I think that's going to be a good thing for the Left. I think it's going to be a good thing for this country because that's ultimately what the Left and Right ought to be arguing about.""

Joe Biden appears to forget the name of Hamas in bumbling speech on Israel war - "president Biden has told a crowd that he met with Francois Mitterrand, the French president who died nearly 30 years ago."

In his second mix-up this week, Biden talks about meeting with dead European leaders - "President Joe Biden on Wednesday twice referred to the late German chancellor Helmut Kohl instead of former Chancellor Angela Merkel while detailing a 2021 conversation at campaign events. It was the second time this week that Biden had recalled speaking with a European leader who had died years earlier. Biden's gaffes Wednesday came at a series of fundraisers in New York as he described conversations he said he had with European leaders at a meeting of the Group of Seven industrialized nations in the U.K. in 2021, months after the Jan. 6 riot. Biden said at both events that "Helmut Kohl," who died in 2017, had asked him how he would respond if he read about people storming the British Parliament and killing officers "to stop the election of a prime minister." Merkel attended the 2021 summit in the U.K... 76% of voters, including half of Democrats, say they have concerns about Biden’s mental and physical health."

Stephen L. Miller on X - "Biden kept unsecured classified documents at his UPenn office that received over $50 million from Chinese CCP linked donors, also had unsecured boxes on the floor of his home garage while Hunter Biden lived at the house during pandemic."
Stephen L. Miller on X - "It's not like Hunter Biden has all but been revealed as a national security risk or anything."

NBC News on X - "The controversy over special counsel Robert Hur’s characterization of President Biden’s memory has obscured one of the most surprising findings in his report – that Biden knowingly kept classified materials at home for years and failed to turn them in."
Stephen L. Miller on X - "That wasn't surprising finding. It was literally the reason for the Special Counsel. Would you also be surprised to learn Biden took documents as a VP, with no authorization authority? WOW right!"

Meme - Wilfred Reilly: "This was Joe Biden's "secure document storage space." The serious conservative argument here is not that Trump is innocent, but that much of the current ruling class is guilty and unprosecuted."

i/o on X - "I just found out that the Biden administration is investing $7 billion in HBCUs because they are "centers of excellence."  Of the 20 schools with the lowest SAT scores in the US, 15 are HBCUs.  The average SAT score of the HBCU which Biden once called "the greatest HBCU" is 910.   No one, including Biden, believes HBCUs are centers of excellence, and no one really thinks a $9 billion dollar investment in them is anything other than expensive signaling to a big loyal section of the Democratic base.   It's the same dumb empty rhetoric as always, and the same misdirection of resources."
Crémieux on X - "These are the median SAT scores for HBCUs with available IPEDS data for 2022. The simple average of these scores is consistent with an IQ of 89.1."

Mike Solana on X - "To be clear, the border was held hostage until Biden received more American money for a string of foreign wars. Now, in exchange for the wars, we get work permits for every illegal immigrant, and the border… remains open. Our country is run by people who hate us."

Not the Bee on X - "It’s pretty easy. Stop cutting the wire and purposefully sabotaging Texas’ efforts. Start funding security. Stop sending money to Ukraine and instead build a wall. Doesn’t take a genius. Though you are far from a genius."
Elon Musk on X - "Building a wall is a red herring. No wall is needed to fix this situation.   Border Patrol is being instructed to facilitate illegal entry at scale into the United States.  The fundamental problem is that anyone can claim asylum with zero proof, which means all of Earth can come to America."
Wilfred Reilly on X - "Elon is noting the obvious point: ~all "asylum" claims are lies. There simply is no war in Mexico or Jamaica or Poland - at least any more than there is in Little Rock. Pathological empathy is far MORE dangerous to a society than a bit of cruelty at the top."

J.D. Tuccille: Biden no longer a low-drama unifier after embracing Trump's style - "“The choice is clear,” Biden wheezed in a campaign appeal made Jan. 5. “Donald Trump’s campaign is about him, not America, not you. Trump’s campaign is obsessed with the past, not the future.” The speech was billed as a commemoration of the Jan. 6, 2021 riot and invoked the name of the former president a full 44 times. Whatever we might say about the leading Republican contender’s message — and I’m no fan — Biden’s campaign is also about Trump and thoroughly obsessed with the past. Focusing entirely on the flaws of your opponent is a bold strategy. So is casting aspersions on any voters who might consider supporting that candidate. But Biden repeatedly called out “insurrectionists” and the “MAGA crowd” as having “abandoned the truth and abandoned democracy.”  In content, the talk was reminiscent of the president’s divisive September 2022 “red wedding” speech in Philadelphia, namesake of the doomed Game of Thrones ceremony that ended in massacre, though the only thing laid to rest was any lingering illusion that Biden still aspired to unify the country’s mutually loathing political factions. Last week’s speech was also less confident than the earlier one, reflecting the desperation of an incumbent whose unpopularity with the public seems unshakeable with approval at or below 40 per cent , and support eroding even among his own party members... “The tough truth for Biden, one that the press seems to have avoided, is that he has always been unpopular,” media critic Jack Shafer pointed out last month in Politico. “Biden was merely the vegetable voters convinced themselves they had to eat in order to rid themselves of Trump.” Biden (is it unfair to point out that he seems more vegetable-like with every day?) won over enough exhausted voters by convincing them that he was a boring centrist who wanted to plaster over the widening cracks in American political culture. “I don’t look at this in terms of the way he does, blue states and red states,” Biden claimed in 2020 to contrast himself with the then-incumbent. “They’re all the United States.… I’m running as a proud Democrat, but I’m going to be an American president.” It’s tough for Biden to pretend he’s still that low-drama unifier when he’s warning that “a determined minority is doing everything in its power to try to destroy our democracy” and casting the upcoming election in apocalyptic terms. There are enemies in our midst? Threats to the republic from our neighbors? Yowza. Part of the problem with this strategy is that the torch of crazy has, at least for the moment, passed from the nationalist right associated with Trump to the progressive left among Biden’s supporters. Instead of white supremacists marching in Charlottesville , progressives take to the streets to proclaim their hatred of Jews and affection for terrorists . Casting political contests in them-or-us terms only works if one of the options is at least somewhat palatable. And few Americans like what’s being offered. Gallup reported this month that “a new low of 28 per cent of U.S. adults are satisfied with the way democracy is working in the country.” Pew Research finds similar results, and adds that a growing share of the public dislikes both Republicans and Democrats... 23 per cent of Americans support political violence  to “save our country.” Insisting that democracy is in danger from domestic enemies raises the stakes and threatens to make things worse. “I think we are going to have serious bloodshed in 2024,” Johns Hopkins University political scientist Benjamin Ginsberg recently warned. Unfortunately, Biden has little to boast of, accomplishment-wise. Americans are unhappy with the destructive economic impact of his policies , and unenthusiastic about the man himself."
The cope is that what he's saying is true and he's being responsible by pointing it out

Bidenomics a bust — Democrats pretend a poorer country is a good thing - "After months of touting “Bidenomics” as a brand for President Joe Biden’s re-election bid on a platform of (alleged) economic success, Democrats are dumping the term. It turns out that linking your fate to the economy only works if people are happy with their economic situation, and Americans aren’t happy with it at all. “Bidenomics is a political bust for Biden,” The New Yorker’s Susan Glasser noted November 30. As a result, point out Axios’s Stef W. Kight and Alex Thompson, congressional Democrats decided to “ditch ‘Bidenomics’ messaging.”... “Let me be clear to any corporation that hasn’t brought their prices back down even as inflation has come down: It’s time to stop the price gouging,” President Biden’s X account threatened Nov. 30. The social media platform’s grassroots Community Notes tool quickly added helpful context: “As long as the inflation rate is positive, prices are increasing. The fact that inflation has come down to 3.2 per cent in October means that prices are still going up, albeit at a slower rate than before.” The White House’s desperate efforts to blame somebody else for inflation and to convince the public that everything is just swell makes sense given the public mood. Not only are Americans sour on the economy and on the government’s handling of money matters, but so are many economists... the Biden administration took over in January 2021 and very publicly doubled down on massive spending as a response to pandemic-era doldrums, playing down inflationary risks. In 2021, Biden’s Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen dismissed warnings that raining trillions of dollars on the world would cause prices to soar and even claimed that pre-pandemic inflation “was too low rather than too high.”... Housing costs have risen so much that many divorced couples are stuck under the same roof, unable to pay for separate dwellings after the end of their marriages, The Wall Street Journal reported at the end of November. If those estranged couples hope new jobs will improve their options, they could be out of luck. The latest figures show employment cooling, with the fewest job openings since March 2021. The surprise isn’t that Democrats are backing away from boasting about “Bidenomics“ — it’s that they ever embraced the term to begin with."

Biden administration warns Texas it will sue if state jails and deports migrants - "The Biden administration warned Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday that legal action will be taken if the state enforces a new law that allows authorities to arrest, jail, prosecute and deport migrants who enter the country illegally...   The governor has attempted to address the surge of migrants into Texas by bussing new arrivals to so-called sanctuary cities, including New York and Chicago, and by constructing a floating barrier in the Rio Grande, which courts have ordered the governor to remove."

Supreme Court allows federal agents to remove razor wire Texas placed at border

Meme - "Take down that barbed wire! It's inhumane!"
"Not if you don't climb over it"

Voters by a HUGE margin back Texas Gov Abbott for defying SCOTUS and Biden admin with razor wire border barrier, our first-of-its-kind poll shows - "Voters by a wide margin support Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's crackdown on migrants, saying they back his razor wire barriers despite opposition from the Biden administration and the Supreme Court, our poll shows. Fully 56 percent of respondents said they supported Abbott's barbed metal deterrent on the Texas-Mexico border, which defies court rulings and usurps authority from the federal government. About a third of respondents said they disagreed with the Republican governor’s anti-migrant moves... The survey reflects growing alarm about record-breaking people-flows across the southern border, which are hurting President Joe Biden's chances of winning a second term in November's election... Abbott gathered 14 fellow Republican state governors at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass over the weekend to focus attention on the frontier. He celebrated his state's razor wire installation for leading to a 'massive reduction' in crossings at an area that previously saw up to 4,000 migrants enter the US each day. 'For the past three days, we have averaged just three people crossing that area,' Abbott said... A record-breaking number of voters now say the influx of migrants at the southern border amounts to a crisis — including growing numbers of Democrats, according to another survey. A Morning Consult poll released earlier this week found that 57 percent of respondents say the US is battling a 'crisis of illegal immigration across the US-Mexico border,' a sharp rise on the 50 percent who said so in March 2021... Nearly half of voters — 49 percent — said Biden was 'very responsible' for the influx of migrants at the southern frontier, followed by two in five voters who blamed the president's Democratic Party... Avery Jones, a Texas-based Army veteran and TikTok creator, visited the frontier to see the situation with her own eyes, saying the chaotic scenes there were 'definitely a crisis.' 'Illegals are coming in by the thousands, mostly men,' she said, adding that Republicans and Democratic politicians in Washington DC were stoking divisions between voters 'because it's an election year.' Others, including California-based TikTok creator C Jamees railed against the ease with which asylum seekers can enter the US, get handouts from charities and enjoy tax-funded services. 'What countries can I go to illegally and get free rent and free healthcare and a $1,000 cash card and a new iPhone?' Jamees asked her 31,000 followers. 'If somebody could tell me that, so I could take my happy a** to another country, cos I'm tired of paying rent.'"

She was on vacation.   It is incredibly difficult to overstate how incompetent this administration is.  We are on the brink of multiple major world wars without a single competent person in charge."

Marc Thiessen 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇦🇹🇼🇮🇱 on X - "When I worked in OSD for Rumsfeld the SecDef and DepSecDef could not travel at the same time so that one was always in the Pentagon and there was no risk of the chain of command being interrupted.  The idea that the SecDef would be incapacitated and not inform his deputy or the commander in chief is unthinkable"
Marc Thiessen 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇦🇹🇼🇮🇱 on X - "Another question: How is it that with hundreds of attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, Syria and the Red Sea, and wars raging in Europe and the Middle East, that the president and his top advisors went three days without speaking to his secretary of defense?   This is as embarrassing for the White House as for SECDEF."

The meaning of Justin Trudeau's petty falsehoods - "Secretary Austin tried to pass it all off as a slip in communication, but anyone familiar with the enormously bloated security apparatus deployed for American officials knows better. Austin could not book a dinner reservation without military and security personnel surveying the restaurant. There are likely a dozen officials in the White House situation room and Pentagon who are charged with knowing how to reach the defense secretary within seconds in an emergency. Only an active directive to deceive — or at least conceal — can plausibly explain how Austin managed to be gone for days without the president knowing."

Oilfield Rando on X - "Again, the Biden admin is not asking for money to control the border. The Biden admin is asking for money to process and release more illegals into the United States."

Ashley St. Clair @stclairashley: "Then they wonder why so many sane individuals are leaving the left and end up being classified as right leaning. They go absolutely bananas calling people "racist" for reporting on a bipartisan issue (Dem mayors or NY and Chicago begging for open border to stop) and push people further right."
