On excluding Unsavouries from Parliament
BBC News - MEP hits out at BNP funding:
"The idea that you can only exclude fascist parties was the initial justification of every Communist regime in Eastern Europe. The approved list of Communist candidates were called "anti-fascist fronts", and pretty soon that definition came to apply to everybody
except the Stalinist hardliners who were part of the regime.
This is the technique used by every dictatorship in the world. They don't ban elections, they just prevent their opponents from contesting the elections, and so I think it's an extremely alarming thing that the European Union can so happily be going down the road that is used by the Chinese, the Iranians and every other tyrant in the world."
