The most extreme theory I've heard about why there are so many abortions in Singapore:

"i suspect alot of people know they can't afford to raise up their kids in a stressful country where inflation is spiraling out of control. They don't want their kids to grow up being second-class citizens in a country where foreigners take priority.

Many of them choose to abort their babies instead of bringing them to suffer as slaves of Lee Kuan Yew and family"
