Links - 1st September 2025 (2 - Hamas Attack Oct 2023)

Alignment of decolonialists, anti-Israel radicals threatens the West - "If you thought that the alliance of pro-Gaza activists, radical leftists and proponents of terror would fade away, you were wrong. Last weekend in Australia, the “March for Humanity” paraded across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. An estimated 100,000 people marched to support the people of Gaza amidst a war between Israel and Hamas that has lasted for almost two years. It was also an opportunity for bad but powerful actors to express their visceral hatred of Australia, and boast of their loyalty to terrorism. The black flag of ISIS was brazenly waved amidst the sea of Palestinian flags, while a portrait of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was held aloft near the front of the march. At another rally in Melbourne, an Australian flag was burned to a crisp. Within 48 hours, a synagogue in the British Columbia capital of Victoria was vandalized with vicious antisemitic graffiti: “Jews are evil … Palestinians will get their revenge against you child-killing Jew monsters.” B.C. also played host to the desecration of the Canadian flag last year in Vancouver. At a rally co-led by the now-proscribed terror entity Samidoun, the red maple leaf was set alight while activists chanted, “Death to Canada.” Samidoun’s leadership affirmed that the chant was meant literally and that they desired the destruction of the “colonial, capitalist state of Canada.” It would be unfair to castigate every supporter of Gaza as pro-terror or anti-Canadian. On the whole, however, they have shown little to no discomfort about marching alongside their more bloodthirsty counterparts. Western countries are equated with Israel and categorized as nothing more than artificial colonial states that must be destroyed. Nothing symbolized this more perfectly than the burning of the Australian flag, which anti-Israel organizer Nasser Mashni dismissed as nothing more than a “piece of silk.” That same individual once remarked that, “Israel and Australia share two things in common, aside from being a shithole racist, settler colony … they also have the highest incidence of skin cancer. Their skin is designed for northern Europe, where there is not much sun.” It cannot be denied that there is a racial element to these protests. Anybody regarded as a settler is considered “subhuman,” and this has been evident in decolonial protests from Melbourne to rural B.C. Established progressive parties across the West have tried accommodating this movement. They have listened to its demands and increased their pressure on Israel to wind down its military operations. Last week, Prime Minister Mark Carney joined his counterparts in France and Great Britain by announcing that Canada will recognize a Palestinian state in September, albeit under very strict conditions. These include securing a commitment from the Palestinian Authority (PA) government of the West Bank to hold elections — which have been suspended for 20 years — in 2026. Another condition is that the terror group Hamas be excluded from the electoral process. Unlikely as it is, let us say that these conditions are met and a sovereign Palestinian state is recognized. The anti-Israel lobby will not magically disappear, nor will the pro-Hamas, anti-western elements that have bulldozed their way to political power. Their influence has been building for decades, and they will not give it up. Britain’s unpopular Labour government, elected only last year, has utterly failed to contain the anti-Israel faction of its voters. Former party leader Jeremy Corbyn is set to co-lead a splinter party of Labour MPs who jumped ship over the war in Gaza. In the United States, the failure of Kamala Harris to satisfy the demands of Arab-American voters in Michigan led many to reject the Democratic Party, and helped flip the state to Donald Trump. In New York City, socialist and anti-Zionist insurgent Zohran Mamdani successfully weaponized anti-Israel sentiment to defeat the state’s former governor, Andrew Cuomo, in the city’s Democratic primary. Mamdani, who is now favoured to be elected in the upcoming mayoral election, has refused to condemn the phrase, “globalize the intifada.” Far from being a purely ethnic phenomenon, Australia’s anti-colonial movement includes both immigrants and native-born Australians. The alignment of decolonial militants and anti-Israel radicals has become a permanent part of western politics. It is also unlikely that the rash of hate crimes perpetrated against Jews in Canada and elsewhere will abate in the near future.Members of progressive governments have shown a disgraceful tendency to tolerate these incidents. Following the vandalism of the synagogue in Victoria, Liberal MP Will Greaves condemned the crime on social media, but that was as far as his party went. They will not risk alienating the sizable part of the left wing that is obsessed with Gaza. The police are investigating the incident, but even if they find the perpetrator, heavy sentences are unlikely. A Toronto-area man who was arrested after threatening to bomb every synagogue in the city received a sentence of just 60 days of house arrest. It seems that would-be terrorists only get timeouts in 2025. There are two visions of Canada; one as a purely modern, multicultural and tolerant state where every religious and ethnic group is equally valid and can coexist in peace. The other is the Confederation ideal of an Anglo-French union striving for “peace, order and good government.” Radicals in the anti-Israel movement care for neither. They abuse the Canadian habit of tolerance and spit on the colonial origins of the country. They are emboldened, angry, and can bend politicians to their will. They will burn Canada to the ground if they get the chance, just as they did our flag."
As left wingers love to shout, if there's one Nazi at a table of 10, there're 10 Nazis at the table

Terry Glavin: Synagogue vandalism shows being 'progressive' no shield against antisemitism - "They were gathering at the conclusion of last weekend’s Shabbat at the Congregation Emmanu-El synagogue in downtown Victoria for an evening reading from the Book of Lamentations and the usual chants and prayers to mark Tisha B’Av, the holiest day of mourning in the Jewish calendar... At the front doors of the synagogue, they found these words scrawled on a pillar : Jews are evil! Because genocide is evil! Stop Genocide. Stop the Jews! Jews are murdering thousands of Gentile children. In the future Palestinians will get their revenge against you child-killing Jew-monsters... In Victoria these days, there are marches and rallies and a weekly “Free Palestine” protest at the legislative buildings, and while these spectacles are led mostly by the University of Victoria’s Muslim Students Association (MSA), the marches attract at least as many aging white boomers. Among the bloodcurdling events the MSA has promoted are speaking engagements featuring the hate preacher Younus Kathradra, whose ideas about Jews are rather less enlightened than the received wisdom promulgated by 19th century colonial opinion-makers. “The Jews have an ancient and dark history of bloodshed and breaking covenants and treaties,” Kathradra has said in a sermon. “If Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them Himself. But He ordered armed struggle. Listen! He ordered armed struggle to test some of you by means of others.” Only two weeks ago, Victoria police announced that a 28-year-old man attending one of the anti-Israel rallies at the legislature would be charged with public incitement of hatred, targeting Jews. Khalid El Boyok was arrested June 11. You could say it’s somewhat ironic that it was Congregation Emmanu-El’s synagogue that was desecrated last weekend. Across town from the legislature, congregants have held their own weekly silent vigils carrying placards bearing the words “ Jews in Mourning for Two Peoples ,” expressing dismay at the unprecedented death and destruction in Gaza since Hamas carried out its bloody pogrom in Israel on October 7, 2023. You can be as “progressive” as you like, and still the antisemites will come after you. Congregation Emmanu-El’s vigils are in keeping with the synagogue’s long-standing avant-garde traditions. As far back as September, 1895, for lack of a full-time rabbi at the time, the congregation retained a woman , San Francisco Chronicle reporter Rachel “Ray” Frank, to lecture and officiate for the high Holy Days, decades before women were to be regularly ordained."
Left wingers like to go on about "solidarity", but supporting people who hate you is suicidal. Of course, leopards eating people's faces is only if you oppose the left wing agenda
Of course, we know that this was just "anti-Zionist" and legitimate political protest. Prosecuting the people who did this for hate speech and vandalism is a dangerous crackdown on "pro-Palestinian" "speech"

American Communist Party on X - "🚨 The American Communist Party stands with the revolutionary Iranian people against Zionist and imperialist aggression!"
Rita Panahi on X - "Communists in Iran were the mullahs useful idiots back in the 1970s. Helped overthrow the Shah & install Islamism. Didn't work out too well for the commies though...the mullahs slaughtered them once the revolution was complete."

Mike Huckabee: US ambassador to Israel says UK would have lost WW2 with Starmer as leader - "The UK would have lost World War Two if Sir Keir Starmer had been its leader at the time, the US ambassador to Israel has suggested in an attack on the prime minister's response to Israel's Gaza City takeover plan.  In a post on social media, Mike Huckabee wrote: "So Israel is expected to surrender to Hamas & feed them even though Israeli hostages are being starved?"  "Did UK surrender to Nazis and drop food to them? ... If you had been PM then UK would be speaking German!" he said."

IDF exposes six Al Jazeera journalists as Gazan terrorists - "The IDF reported on Wednesday that military intelligence and documents located in the Gaza Strip confirmed the affiliation of six Al Jazeera network journalists in Gaza with Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The reporters include Anas Jamal Mahmoud Al-Sharif, Alaa Abdul Aziz Muhammad Salama, Hossam Basel Abdul Karim Shabat, Ashraf Sami Ashour Saraj, Ismail Farid Muhammad Abu Omar and Talal Mahmoud Abdul Rahman Aruki."

Everything the IDF says is false. Everything Hamas says is true

Meme - "Palestinian Telegram channels confirm that Anas Al-Sharif, the Al Jazeera "journalist," gave Hamas the names of Gazans protesting its rule - so they could be "liquidated."
"Just a reminder: Anas Al-Sharif is the one who dragged the innocent people who were demanding Hamas to end the war, handed them over to Al-Qassam, and they were liquidated. Indeed, God delays but does not neglect..."

NGOs and partisan hacks have just shown they will believe any lie about Gaza - "The past 22 months have seen Israel engaged in a devastating military operation in Gaza. That has inevitably meant civilian casualties.   As of now, we do not know the exact number, not least because the figures are provided by the Hamas-run ministry of health and, at the most basic level, do not separate out terrorists from civilians.  But it is striking how few supposedly objective observers not only take the word of Hamas as gospel, but are willing to peddle any supposed statistic or revelation which paints Israelis as bloodthirsty monsters.   This week has seen one such claim go viral on social media – a claim so obviously preposterous that it calls into question not just the bias of those who are citing it but their very ability to engage in cognitive reasoning.   On Monday the IDF killed Anas al-Sharif, who was employed as a journalist by Al Jazeera but who was also, according to the Israelis, the commander of a rocket launch squadron in Hamas’s Northern Brigade, had a personal Hamas ID number and had his details listed in the directory of Hamas’s Nukhba battalion in East Jabaliya.   His killing prompted a mass outbreak of anger among many leading journalists. It also led to the circulation by some of those journalists of a statistic that anyone with even a modicum of basic sense could see was plain nonsense.  John Simpson, doyen of BBC correspondents and its world affairs editor, was among the first to respond to al-Sharif’s death by circulating the “statistic”, posting this on his social media feed: “According to the Watson School of International and Public Affairs in Rhode Island, more journalists have been killed in Gaza than in both world wars, the Vietnam war, the wars in Yugoslavia and the war in Afghanistan combined.” Sky’s Alex Crawford had already posted the claim in June, when it was first made. It will surprise no one that Amnesty, which often publishes grotesque lies about Israel, also joined in, citing figures from the report: “The targeted killing of Anas al-Sharif and five other journalists on Sunday means at least 242 Palestinian journalists have been killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of October 2023. No conflict in modern history has seen a higher number of journalists killed. Second World War: 1939-45: 69 journalists killed.”  These claims are absurd for the patently obvious reason that, under the Third Reich, there was the Holocaust: a glance at the Yad Vashem website shows that more than 1400 Jewish journalists were murdered by the Nazis. So even restricting the numbers killed to just Jewish journalists, the claim by the Watson School – gobbled up with glee by the likes of Simpson, Crawford and Amnesty International – is clearly nonsense, since the number of Jewish journalists killed during WW2 is more than five times the entire number of reporters supposedly killed in Gaza.   But it gets worse. The Watson School claims that just 69 journalists died in WW2. The claim is self-evident nonsense, given that it’s estimated that between 70 and 85 million people died in WW2. The paper’s authors appear to have taken a memorial to journalists killed doing their job built by the Freedom Forum in the US, which lists 69 reporters who died during WW2, and taken these to be not some of the reporters who died in WW2 but the only reporters. It is jaw dropping in its stupidity – assuming, perhaps charitably, idiocy rather than malevolence. The Watson scholars have, however, done the opposite with their estimation of the number of journalists killed in Gaza: they have probably produced an exaggerated number.   Analysis of the names cited by those less willing to accept without scrutiny any claim of Israeli evil shows that some are considered by the Watson authors to be journalists for the most tenuous of reasons – such as having an Instagram or Facebook account to which they have posted content.  Many mainstream and renowned journalists have emerged from the Gaza conflict with their reputations shown to be undeserved; the same is true of some NGOs. This latest example is perhaps the most astonishing example of all of their willingness to uncritically repeat any nonsense, so long as it portrays Israel as the villain."

Eitan Fischberger on X - "Jaw-dropping statement from @FPANewYork  president Ian Williams:  "Frankly, I don't care if al-Sharif was in Hamas or not. We don't kill journalists for being Republicans or Democrats or Labour Party. Hamas is a political organization, as well as a terrorist organization, perhaps""
Hans Fritzsche was sentenced to hard labour after World War II. More proof that the Allies were the evil side, because they persecuted journalists!
No wonder so many terrorists pretend to be journalists

CMV: There is zero percent chance that more journalists have been killed in Gaza than in both world wars, the Vietnam war, the wars in Yugoslavia and the war in Afghanistan combined : r/changemyview - "If you issue press IDs to Sinwar and have Al Jazeera journalists housing hostages in their attic, those “journalists” are valid targets for lethal force according to international law.  What we’re seeing is the abuse of the cover journalists are given by international law in order to create a PR disaster every time a militant leader also employed by AJ is rightfully shot. The most recent case of dead journalists involved people who were within literal arms reach of the remaining living hostages for “special access.” That’s not a “journalist,” that’s a collaborator.  If US journalists were doing that and got killed, I’d say rest in piss."

Meme - Jeremy Corbyn: "30 years ago, over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys were murdered in the Srebrenica genocide. Today, politicians will say "never again". But they are letting it happen, again, in Gaza. We remember all victims of genocide, and vow to build a world that respects the humanity of all."
Oz Katerji: "30 years ago you stood in solidarity with Serbian death squads and condemned NATO for intervening you fraud."
Good illustration of how terrorist supporters just hate the West

Banners calling for Israeli hostages to be released confiscated at Uefa match - "The brother of an Israeli hostage was banned from bringing signs demanding his release into a Uefa match a day after it displayed a “Stop Killing Children – Stop Killing Civilians” banner before the Super Cup... Uefa’s own banner led to accusations on Thursday by the CAA of promoting a “blood libel” that Jews murder children. A spokesperson said: “Uefa has said nothing about the Jewish hostages kept in barbaric captivity for almost two years, nor about the incessant attacks on Israeli civilians throughout this war from terrorists in Gaza and throughout the Middle East.  “But all of sudden, they have chosen a Spurs match – a club commonly associated with the Jewish community – to unfurl a banner reading ‘Stop Killing Children – Stop Killing Civilians’. For centuries, Europe has traded in the blood libel that Jews kill children, and clearly the trope remains as popular as ever. Uefa says that ‘the message is clear’.  “After two years with no acknowledgment of the Jewish children murdered, maimed and traumatised by this war, the message is clear indeed. This selective outrage tells us everything about the double standard that still poisons European discourse on Jews.”  Uefa was also accused of “cowardice” by Amnesty for failing to identify Israel on the banner."

Uefa accused of promoting Jewish ‘blood libel’ with ‘Stop Killing Children’ banner - "Under its own rules, Uefa states that political messages cannot be promoted in stadiums before, during or after matches"
Amnesty wants them to have the "courage" to break rules and be biased

Arts centre to overhaul leadership after pro-Palestinian occupation - "An arts centre has pledged to appoint new leadership and condemned the “genocide” in Gaza after it was occupied by pro-Palestinian activists earlier this summer.  Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) has been closed since Art Workers for Palestine Scotland occupied the building on June 24 after the venue could not come to a consensus on endorsing their cultural boycott of Israel... The group had previously condemned the centre for calling the police, which led to the arrest of a 63-year-old woman and an injury to a person. “The illusion has been shattered, all trust is lost, the mask has dropped,” it had said."
No surprise that terrorism supporters resort to such tactics. Ironically they think it's okay to illegal occupy places if Israel isn't the one doing it

Air traffic controller broadcast ‘Free Palestine’ to Israeli planes - "An air traffic controller has been suspended for shouting “Free Palestine” to Israeli pilots... The airline said that any deviation from standard procedures during take-off could lead to disaster, and that it has been liaising with Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority regarding the “unprofessional and inappropriate” radio incident.  The French transport minister, Philippe Tabarot, confirmed that the air official who shouted “Free Palestine” has now been suspended... The incident comes after the Paris offices of El Al were vandalised last week, smeared with red paint and graffiti reading: “genocide airline”, and “Free Palestine” in a number of languages... It also marks the latest in a series of incidents involving Jewish and Israeli flight passengers.  Last week it emerged that Jewish passengers received kosher meals with “Free Palestine” graffiti on the Spanish airline, Iberia.  Last month a group of Jewish children returning to France from a summer camp in Spain were escorted off a Vueling flight to Paris last month after at least one child sang a Hebrew song.  Vueling allegedly removed the director of a Jewish summer camp and approximately 50 children from the flight to Paris. The airline said the group had “compromised passenger safety”."

The Horst Mahler effect: how Leftist Israelophobia morphs into unabashed anti-Semitism - "When Horst Mahler, lawyer, terrorist and anti-Semite, died last month at the age of 89, that nemesis of Germany had become little more than a deranged demagogue who had lost a leg to diabetes and was fatigued by years in prison.   Such is the derangement of the times, however, that Mahler – a member of the notorious hard-Left Baader-Meinhof gang who later converted to neo-Nazism – is more relevant in death than he ever was in life.   With sensible politics around the world challenged by anti-Western fervour, this is increasingly Mahler’s moment. Across the political extremes, his hallmarks are familiar today: conspiratorial thinking; a pathological hatred for the United States, the West and all our old certainties; a cleaving to utopian radicalism; and a loathing for both Israel and the Jews.   Since October 7, this omnidogma has accelerated its advance, reaching for influence in our schools, universities, throughout the arts and media, in our formerly great northern towns and cities, on the streets, in the digital universe and through the benighted corridors of Lanyardistan.  It reached a bloody nadir in Washington DC last May, when two young Israeli diplomats were gunned down in the name of “Palestine”, and in the firebombing of elderly Jews in Colorado by an Egyptian national a few weeks later. In Britain, it has prompted death chants at Glastonbury and the sabotage of RAF aircraft by the bourgeois radicals of Palestine Action, not to mention relentless street unrest. But its spirit has also inspired the far-Right, with figures like the American firebrand Tucker Carlson and European insurgent parties Alternative für Deutschland and Rassemblement National indulging an animosity towards Israel, fondness for the erstwhile Assad regime and adoration for Vladimir Putin... This convergence of radicalisms, which takes hatred of the Jews and packs it with contempt for liberal Western values, could now perhaps best be described as the “Horst Mahler complex”. More than anybody else, Mahler’s life story demonstrated that the gap between far-Left and far-Right is bridged not by shuffling round the horseshoe but by a simple sidestep... As an adult, Mahler became a lawyer and a leading exponent of the trend to cast Western capitalism as the continuation of Nazism. For him, bloodshed was a means of purging the crimes of the older generation in the fires of revolutionary fervour.   He became a key figure in the Baader-Meinhof gang, which was responsible for 34 murders and some of the most spectacular terrorist atrocities in post-war history. Inevitably, theirs was a virulent Israelophobia. Mahler underwent terrorist training in Jordan with the Palestinian faction Fatah, which now rules in Ramallah. He also represented an activist shot by German police while protesting a visit from Iran’s Shah in 1967. Progressives sided with the exiled Ayatollah. In 1970, Mahler was arrested carrying a loaded pistol while wearing a wig and false beard. In prison, he renounced violence, but in the coming years embraced neo-Nazism, envisioning fascism as a means to fulfil the aims of the hard Left: the defeat of American Jewish capitalism.   The Holocaust, he now said, was “the actions of God, not those of humans”. He performed a Sieg Heil in front of a Jewish journalist and claimed that Hitler was “the saviour of the German people”. Mahler also praised the 9/11 attacks. In 2005, he accepted an invitation by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to an international conference promoting Holocaust denial."

The West’s acceptance of Israelophobia is costing innocent lives - "The smear that so appalled him was the lurid claim that 14,000 babies in Gaza would die within 48 hours. Tom Fletcher, the UN humanitarian chief, had made it the day before on Radio 4’s Today programme. Social media lit up in excitement.  People love tall stories of Jewish baby killers. Later that day, the smear was repeated in Parliament by no fewer than 13 enthusiastic MPs – seven from the Labour Party, three Liberal Democrats, the Green Party leader, a Plaid Cymru representative and a Gaza Independent – when they gathered to give Israel a kicking.  This was the notorious debate in which David Lammy blustered that “history will judge” the Jewish state for the outrage of defending its people against jihadism and refusing to give up before winning. Hamas had already applauded Lammy’s “principled stance”.  Yet while parliamentarians were merrily repeating the obviously fishy “14,000 babies” claim, it was being debunked by the BBC... The awful truth is that civilians, including babies, lose their lives in warfare. According to the UN, the global average is nine non-combatant casualties for every combatant killed. When the RAF joined American airforce and Iraqi and Kurdish troops to obliterate Islamic State in Mosul in 2017, an Amnesty report described it as a “civilian catastrophe”.  In March, a UN report revealed that half of all children under five in Yemen, that’s 540,000 boys and girls, are “acutely malnourished”, a condition described as “agonising, life-threatening and entirely preventable,” by a humanitarian official. Did anybody care? Clearly, there’s something about Jews and the blood of babies that gets people going."
