Is Lance Twiggs a Republican or a Democrat? Social media posts reveal new details about Tyler Robinson's roommate - "The roommate of Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin Tyler Robinson showed support for Joe Biden and joked about being mentally ill... Twiggs, an aspiring pro gamer, appears to have made a comment in a 2022 Reddit post saying, “We are riding with Biden on this glorious subreddit.”... Twiggs said in another post that he was getting targeted adverts for treatment for schizophrenia and other mental health issues on social media. “I have been getting recommended treatments for schizophrenia, bpd, and a brain tumor recently by my social media advertisements. this meme is perfect, thanks,” the post reads. Twiggs’ posts were not often political. However, he frequently referenced his gender transition, as well as being a former Christian. Twiggs’ family appears to be a conservative Christians based in Utah. A family member of Twiggs told Wisconsin Right Now that Twiggs harbored animosity toward conservatives and Christians, and alleged that he was Robinson’s boyfriend. “They did live together,” the family member said. “He (Lance Twiggs) is very angry with anyone who is supportive of conservative ideals and Christian values.” The family member also said that Twiggs is “not mentally well at all.” The relative added that they have been avoiding Twiggs for about four years. “I know the reason I had nothing to do with him is he (Lance Twiggs) is full of evil and hatred,” the family member alleged. “While this is extremely shocking, I was afraid he might hurt someone.”"

"The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." He has a whole chapter on how H!tler and Goebbels created a false narrative of propaganda about how Germans in Austria, France and Poland were being harassed and killed by the citizens there. The propaganda was disseminated everywhere in Germany while the truth from outside the country was censored. At one point Shirer said, it was so bad that even if he showed U.S. newspapers with images from those areas showing peaceful towns and the Germans there attesting it wasn't happening, the Germans in Berlin refused to believe it. That is how they got millions of Germans to believe in and follow H!tler into the horror of WW2. History tells us what is coming."

Thread by @RachelKleinfeld on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "I was misquoted by a reporter, and now am in the midst of a media storm – people who care about the REAL story should read here: A Reuters reporter misquoted me in a story about Charlie Kirk’s murder, putting words in my mouth that pointed a finger at a particular group as responsible. The reporters had mixed up their own notes with my quote and reported what they had found elsewhere as words I had said. I never mentioned a specific group or movement to Reuters or any reporter – I do not study specific groups and so don’t comment on them. I would also not speculate about something as serious as who committed a murder. Reuters realized what had happened and tried to simply change the quote without admitting reporter error, like a five-year-old who broke mom’s vase and tries to hide the damage. When I learned what had happened, I & the Carnegie Endowment where I work attempted to get Reuters – and other outlets that had by then quoted the original misquote - to print a formal retraction admitting that they had misquoted me. They eventually did, but far, far too slowly. Meanwhile, I was getting hateful messages from people who read the misquote and others who thought there was a cover up. And then the Foundation for Freedom Online made allegations that my institution, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as supporting censorship. They noted that “It is considered good journalistic practice, when a news website makes a clarification, correction, or any other substantial change to its initial report, for the authors to include a note informing readers that a change has been made.” I very much agree. Then they wrote, correctly at the time but not now, that: “No such note can be found in Reuters’ report, making the edit look more like an attempt to cover up misinformation than an honest correction” and inferred the rest of their story. I am FURIOUS at that reporter in Reuters and their editorial slowness in printing a retraction, which they should have done immediately. I also know that Reuters has excellent reporters who do thoughtful, careful work on political violence and other topics. Carnegie also has thoughtful, careful scholars. Reporters and scholars sometimes make mistakes. The way to correct them is to publicly admit mistake. Society needs to make room for honest mistakes from those trying their best, whether by a scholar, or in this case, by a reporter. Instead, America is letting far-left & far-right cancel culture win. Call outs in public before a story is known. Online mobs & sometimes offline violence, emails of unspeakable language, reputation destruction, job loss, & harm to valuable institutions is no way to run a society My mother was irreparably harmed by a far-left cancel culture 30 years ago. Her father, my grandfather, lost his job from the McCarthyism witch hunt. Now I may be facing something similar from the far-right. It’s no surprise that cancellation ping-pongs back and forth – one side’s radicalization radicalizes the other. We all lose. We gain when we talk to one another openly. America is weakened when we attack people and organizations for the peaceful expression of beliefs and ideas. Charlie Kirk paid the ultimate price for our society's pathologies. I disagree fundamentally with his beliefs while respecting greatly his right to speak & organize for them. As someone who once started a young person’s advocacy organization, I saw what a singular talent he had. I wonder what would have happened if he had been allowed to live beyond the stridency that characterizes so many people in their twenties, into his full mature self. He should have had that opportunity. I do not have to agree with someone’s beliefs to wish that we lived in a society where no life would be ended prematurely through violence. We are a society of over 300 million. We won't all agree."

Inside the Mind of Charlie Kirk’s Accused Killer: New Details Uncover Tyler Robinson's Dark Spiral Before the Rooftop Assassination - "According to the source, Robinson was the "normal" one — quiet, intelligent, and even-tempered. He had dropped out of an electrical apprenticeship at Dixie Technical College and enjoyed the outdoors. Before moving in with Twiggs, he was described as straight-laced and presumed to be a virgin.Twiggs reportedly struggled with their religious upbringing. Having grown up in a Mormon household, they described on Reddit being kicked out after their family claimed he was "possessed by a demon". The source said Twiggs cycled between manic "nesting phases", hoarding trash and alcohol bottles, and bouts of severe depression. His reported substance use included weed, LSD, shrooms, DMT, and black-market hormone replacement therapy. As his instability deepened, Twiggs allegedly began lashing out when friends mentioned transgender issues — a fixation that soon turned toward prominent conservative figures. According to Turkey Tom, "Tyler was being subjected to an incessant barrage of genuinely psychotic ramblings from a paranoid and deranged Lance who had recently become significantly more political… As is customary for people with these kinds of delusions, they start fixating on prominent people… This is probably when the name of Charlie Kirk entered the mix." She still hasn't found it. This is PULITZER PRIZE winning journalist...
Somehow, people forgot what a “quote” actually is. It’s not a summary. Not your interpretation. Not “what they basically meant.” A quote is, word-for-word, the exact sounds that came out of someone’s mouth. A significant number of people in the comments don't get this. I genuinely thought we had figured this out collectively, but I guess Leftists STILL need a lesson on how words work. Charlie said, "you" Not "Black women" "you" It’s the difference between categorizing an entire group of people, (racism) and pointing to individual people, as individuals, who benefited from DEI, (not racist). It’s a massive distinction that seems to have been completely lost on the people who just are itching to call Charlie a racist, when he clearly was not. It’s even more worrisome that thousands of you don’t understand what it means to put someone’s words in quotation. Because if he didn’t actually say “black women”, then you cannot put it in quotes. That's how quotes work, which is why quotation marks are important. You don’t need a degree in linguistics to understand this concept. It’s basic literacy... and also it’s also basic ethics. If you’re going to frame someone’s sentence as evidence of bigotry, you owe the audience, and the person you’re accusing, the courtesy of fidelity to the record. These are kindergarten-level rules for communication. They are the guardrails that keep disagreement honest and you can't remove them just because you hate someone. It really bothers me this is still even remotely being debated. If you believe “you” meant a specific demographic, then say that is your read of is statement and make your case. Walk people through your reasoning. But do not stuff your interpretation into quotation marks and then wave the punctuation like it proves itself. It doesn't, and it makes you a lying fraud."

Now imagine that thousands of other conservatives shamelessly celebrated the assassination and called for more of them. Now imagine that in the same week another right winger shot up a country club while shouting “MAGA” and another one shot up a news station and left behind a manifesto complaining about liberal bias in the media. Now imagine that a week after all of those attacks, a conservative sniper perched on a rooftop fired into a Planned Parenthood clinic, killing or injuring multiple people. And imagine that this Planned Parenthood attack was just the latest in a string of them stretching back several months. Is there any doubt how the Democrats would respond? Is there any doubt that they would wage a full scale war on conservatives and have people like me frog marched in front of cameras in handcuffs and leg irons? Is there any doubt that they would declare martial law and label all right wing expression incitement? Is there any doubt that they would be rounding up conservatives by the bus load and shipping us to Gitmo? Is there any doubt that they would have Fox News and every other conservative media company shut down and its executives arrested or sued into bankruptcy? I’m not even advocating for Republicans to do all that Democrats would do if the roles were reversed. I believe in the rule of law. I know that they would throw the rules out, chuck the Constitution into a wood chipper, and ruthlessly persecute us all if conservatives engaged in the kind of systematic campaign of political terrorism that the left is currently conducting. I don’t want anyone to be persecuted. What I do want — what we all want — is for the Trump Administration to do absolutely everything legally in its power to prosecute and punish every leftist responsible for committing, coordinating, funding, or inciting this epidemic of political violence. I want them to actually treat Antifa like the terrorist organization that it is, and handle its adherents and affiliates the same way we handle ISIS and Al Qaeda. Now is the time. Lives hang in the balance. Crush the terrorists. Do it now."
