If you're going somewhere expensive you might as do sophisticated clean high-trust homogeneous Iceland or Norway. If you're going somewhere packed with migrants you might as well go for Paris or Barcalona. At least they have magnificent architecture and great food. If you want sweeping Atlantic coastline, go to Portugal where it's cheap, the weather is great and the food is delicious. If you're all about low prices try Lithuania, the Balkans or Turkey. If you want all the negative aspects of these examples with none of the positives, visit Ireland. England is similar and worse in some ways, but at least London is a proper global metropolis with lots to see, do and eat, and the tube to get around on. Not the case in Dublin. With all that considered I think Ireland may be the single worst holiday destination in Europe. Do I say this because I hate my country? No, but I hate what has been done to my country. Is this a stab in the back of our hospitality sector? No, it is they who stabbed us in the back replacing their Irish workforce almost entirely with cheap foreign labour and leasing out their hotels for lucrative migrant accommodation government contracts. Am I saying that Ireland fundamentally has nothing to offer? Not quite. We never had Parisian architecture or cuisine to rival the Italians, but we did have a thriving tourist industry. How was this possible? Firstly they could get reasonable prices especially out west where the beauty is, but more importantly, people came to Ireland for the culture and craic. That tight-knit jovial atmosphere, the strong sense of national pride and belonging. That was our comparative advantage people would flock from all over the world to experience. That has all been ripped out from under us by the ruling regime. We have to live in this dump, but there's no point lying to tourists about it, and they're finding out by themselves anyway. We are working on turning it around but for now, don't waste your hard-earned money and limited time coming here. From Ireland, with love."
