Hi, just using this as an example of what is both racist and misinformed. I did not approve the post for this reason but see it as something to display that represents irresponsible propaganda. Take it from an admin who walked around today what is now called the Chop, Capitol Hill Occupied Protest. Furthermore Fox News has intentionally used digitally altered photos to show broken windows and looting and photos of intense fires from Minneapolis. This is actual propaganda. I am someone’s who lived 5 minutes walk from these blocks until recently and stay updated daily with multiple first hand accounts including organizers. Some things are simply not truthful and not a matter of a differing opinion.

You are right in saying no one person's opinion is the opinion of all. Just as no media is right for everyone. However I currently live in Seattle and have been watching the situation closely.
My personal observation through various livestreams from actual people I know is that CHAZ or CHOP is not homogeneous. There are many different people with different agendas there. However, the majority are there in peace and with hopes that the occupy protest will open positive dialogue between the city and the people.
Also, after reading many one sided and biased news from FOX, I no longer consider the a reliable news source. You have the right to continue believing it as reliable news, but unfortunately I do not. There are many more balanced, factual and reliable news sources out there.

16 years ago when I first came to the US, someone wise told me everything here in politics is not what it seems. Now after having witnessed 5 election cycles I can honestly say I truely understand what he meant. I came to see with disgust the media’s role in inflaming situations for ratings and profits. The outright biases on both sides to pander to their selective audiences. The “ canceling culture” that has taken hold on social media that suppresses different perspectives, ideas and beliefs. A culture that seeks not to encourage discussion and acceptance of differences but seek with vindictiveness to cancel businesses and people via damaging their reputation and livelihood. I have seen a member of the tango community try to “out” someone whom he thinks is a racist. It is disappointing especially that at the age of being in his forties he really was still being supported by his parents and living his unfulfilled dream in the industry with no responsibility other than himself.
The word “racist” is often diluted and thrown in directions of others who disagree with the so called “woke” ideology of the day. These social justice warriors will put it upon themselves to become the thought and idea police brigade to apply censorship and suppression via peer pressure and insinuations. Having lived in a social democratic country, I was really not allowed or encouraged this mindset of challenging ideas using critical analysis and decernment skills. Having lived as a minority in Australia and the US I learned to take myself out of the box to question my perception of people, racism and bigotry. Till date I encountered generous white Australians and Americans than what the world were told otherwise. It pains me to see my white friends having to apologize for things they did not do to pay for the sins of their forefathers. I try to understand both sides and I align my internal moral compass with my own conclusions. E: Thanks for taking the time to share. I spent most of my life in the U.S. and made tremendous effort to assimilate into the society. I have many white friends, they are like my family, they helped me to establish myself in this country, my former white boss paid for my tuition at UCLA, it was not in the employment agreement, he wanted to see me to succeed in this country. It irks me when my family and friends back home think that all the white people are white supremacists. I was a victim of black crimes so I no longer live in the black neighborhood, nevertheless, U have close black friends. Human rights are contested because there are different constitutencies and tradeoffs. For example, there is a right to life but the conflict between this and bodily autonomy results in controversy over abortion rights. Trans rights are also in conflict with women's rights. And in the administration of justice victim's rights and the rights of the accused are in conflict all the time. To pretend that there is and can be no debate is dishonest.

"“Tofu contains omega 3 but it is a type that is not as active as animal sources,” says Rossi. Plant-based sources contain a type of omega 3 called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). For our bodies to be able to do anything particularly useful with ALA, we need to convert it into eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) or docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). However, humans are not particularly well equipped to do this.
It is DHA that is responsible for the much-celebrated brain boosting properties of omega 3, while EPA has been linked to reduced symptoms of depression. Both are found in high quantities in fatty fish oils. There are some non-animal sources of useful EPA and DHA, like algae oil, that are available as supplements.
One alternative that seems to be on every menu during Veganury is jackfruit. The ripe fruit has a sweet taste, which hints at its close relation to the fig, but the unripe fruit is savoury and has a fleshy texture. This fleshiness makes it a convincing choice for pulled pork alternatives, curries and burgers.
The issue is jackfruit is quite nutritionally valueless if it's protein you're wanting. It is mostly made up of carbohydrates and contains almost no protein. As a replacement for meat, it is not the best choice.
Even other plant-based protein sources are of a lesser quality than animal protein sources, says dietician Rachel Clarkson. “Proteins are made up of amino acids which are the building blocks of every cell and hormone in our body. However, most plants do not contain good amounts of all essential amino acids.”
Plant-based protein sources usually lack at least one of the nine essential amino acids – the amino acids that the human body needs, but is unable to synthesise and so has to source from our diet. This means that vegans either need to carefully balance their proteins so that they complement each other, or supplement their diet from elsewhere. However, meat, egg and dairy products are considered “complete” because they contain all nine essential amino acids.
“If your protein diet is made up of lentils and beans, you would be getting some but not all of them,” says Clarkson. “Vegan burgers are often made up of beans, but this is not a complete source. One great product is soy because it is high in quality protein. That would be my go-to protein.”
Another discrepancy between the quality of animal- and plant-based foods is in their iron content. While plenty of plants, like whole grains, legumes and spinach are high in iron, once again, it is not always the best type. Animal sources contain haem iron, whereas plants contain non-haem iron. Non-haem is not as well absorbed by the body. Being iron deficient is a problem, particularly for women whose iron requirement for menstruation is higher.
In a meta-analysis of research of iron deficiency in vegetarians, vegans and omnivores, vegans (and in particular women) come out as the highest risk group. One study found that 25% of vegans had very low blood iron levels, compared to 3% of vegetarians and 0% of omnivores. Even more moderate iron deficiencies affect vegans more (30%, compared to 21% of vegetarians and 0% of omnivores).
“If you go long-term as a vegan, food pairing is going to be important,” says Rossi. Some foods contain chemicals whose properties improve absorption rates of chemicals in other foods. Adding vitamin C, for example, while eating a non-haem iron source improves our ability to absorb it. Rossi gives the example of using a tomato base, rich in vitamin C, when cooking with lentils.
One also needs to consider what is added to vegan fast food to make it as rewarding and fulfilling as meat equivalents. She used a company printer to print the photos of her green body, and the company kitchen to film herself laying pages of the book on mustard-covered bread, as if they were delicate slices of ham... Loftus concedes that she made mistakes, too, including the way she dealt with Mensa’s so-called boob thread. In 2015, a Firehouse member posted, “I want to see some boobs! Help me out ladies! #boobthread,” and the women of Mensa flooded the comments section with twelve hundred photos of their breasts. The overwhelming supply spawned a secondary boob thread, which garnered more than five hundred more. Loftus tweeted about it, to make fun of Mensa’s adolescent horniness. In retrospect, she reflected that the thread happened between consenting adults, and worried that her earlier criticisms had come off as slut-shaming"
