Links - 11th October 2026 (2 - Woke Universities [including Admissions])

Libs of TikTok on X - "I cannot believe this is real. California State Superintendent candidate Richard Barrera says he’s against bringing back the SATs and if students at top universities are at elementary level math, it’s the college professors’ job to catch them up 🤯"
Left wing ideology as usual is about levelling down and destroying civilisation

Smirkley on X - "Texas guarantees UT Austin admission to the top 5% of every high school class, by grades alone. This seems race neutral but top 5% at a black school isn’t top 5% at a white/Asian one.   Among its own auto-admits entering in 2008 (tell them to publish new data) the mean SAT was 1277 for asians, 1267 for whites, 1111 for hispanics,  and 1068 for blacks.  2025 Texas SAT score averages: 1202 for asians, 1054 for whites, 904 for hispanics, and 887 for blacks.  Model with 2025 SAT scores and the Texas class would be 42% Asian, 37% white, 12.5% Hispanic, and 2.6% black."
i/o on X - "A lot of people are shocked to discover that whites are only 25% of the in-state undergrad students at the University of Texas, outnumbered by Hispanics, who perform much worse than whites on the SAT. The reason for this is what I would call a "deformative action" admissions approach (described below).  The second graph shows how far the fall-off would be for the Hispanic student share if the sole admissions criterion was actual tested cognitive ability.  And you can also see how Asians (only 6% of the population of Texas) would then be the dominant group on campus if measured intelligence were the only admissions criterion.  (And, yes, the SAT is still mostly a test of general intelligence, although less so than it was a few decades ago.)"

i/o on X - ""In 2024 and 2025 (combined), half of Berkeley Law’s admitted black applicants had LSAT scores that were below 95% of the admitted white applicants... black applicants had 5.8 times higher odds of admission than comparable white applicants.""

i/o on X - "Harvard abolishes its SAT requirement in hopes of removing evidence of its preferential treatment of black and Hispanic students in admissions. A few years later, it creates its first remedial math class."
Nathaniel Hawthorne's Ghost on X - "So can someone explain why Harvard is admitting students who can’t do 7/8th grade math?"
SettledScience™️ on X - "Because UCSD is willing to take those that can’t do 5/6th grade math?"

Gail Heriot on X - "Eliminating the SAT as a requirement effectively results in institutional suicide for universities like Harvard. A Harvard with a remedial math course isn’t really Harvard anymore. I’ll leave it to others to decide if that’s good or bad."

It’s ‘racially harmful’ to reform grade inflation at Harvard, student petition argues - "The lobbying comes as a Harvard faculty consider capping the number of A grades they give out in each class. That proposal came after a report published last fall found that 60 percent of all undergraduate grades are now As"
When you admit racial minorities are less competent

The Chronicle of Higher Education on X - "One of the Harvard report’s most compelling findings is that students almost universally speak about grades in terms of how much effort they put in. If they spend a lot of time studying and do all of the work asked of them, they believe, they should get an A."
Jonah Goldberg on X - "This is exactly how I feel about doctors. If the surgeon really tries his or her best, who am I to complain when they remove the wrong organ? Also, pilots. Knowing how to fly is so much less important than really, really, caring about getting there."

Shabbos Kestenbaum on X - "An open letter to current Harvard faculty, donors, and trustees:  I know you hate me.  I know you hate President Trump.  I know you think the enforcement of federal law is actually a conspiracy to overhaul higher education.  I know you think the multiple conclusions of religious discrimination against Jews is a lie.  But I am genuinely struggling to understand, irrespective of antisemitism, how the current disastrous state of the University has not resulted in tangible, meaningful reform.  I implore you to answer basic questions about how you continue to choose to run Harvard University:
1. Why do you insist on paying Claudine Gay, an actual serial plagiarist who was forced to resign, a salary of $900,000 a year?
2. Why specifically should Claudine Gay of all people be teaching a class on leadership, using Harvard as a case study?
3. What specific merits and talents does Chairwoman Penny Pritzker bring to the table? What is the specific justification for keeping her?
4. For what specific reason is the University refusing to comply with federal law by not sharing the criminal background history of your foreign students to DHS?
5. Does it bother you that 97% of the faculty identify with one particular political ideology? If yes, what are two specific actions you're willing to take to rectify the problem?
6. What specifically have you done to ensure that the few conservative students left on campus aren't self-censoring their work and opinions?
7. Does it bother you that multiple faculty members, such as Professor James Hankins, admitted they or their colleagues were told that white men, in the post George Floyd backlash would no longer be hired if there was a (less qualified) black or gay applicant?
8. Thousands of donors, representing billions of dollars, have refused to give anymore since 10/07. What specific policy overhauls have you implemented to win them back?
Irrespective of antisemitism, I'm genuinely struggling to understand why Harvard refuses to get out of its own way. This entire controversy since Day 1 has been entirely self inflicted and avoidable. Poor leadership after poor leadership..."
Peter Boghossian on X - "The entire institution is an incorrigibly corrupt ideological cesspool. The corruption has been institutionalized: Gay was found innocent of plagiarism charges BEFORE her investigation. She's a serial plagiarist who even plagiarized the acknowledgments in her dissertation."
Nan Hayworth, M.D. on X - "Harvard can't be bothered because it has not yet encountered consequences that inspire sufficient fear in that institution. This is one of many reasons why taxpayer dollars should be withdrawn from every school in the country. They insulate from consequences of arrogance and overt malefaction."

Philip Greenspun on X - "The New York Times told us that Claudine Gay "resigned" from Harvard. The university's IRS filings, however, show that she was being paid at the rate of $3.1 million/year after purportedly resigning."
Jonatan Pallesen on X - "The media didn't write about this at the time, but Claudine Gay is not only a plagiarist. Also:
1. Her research makes no scientific sense. (See https://t.co/HnToNRrPCZ)
2. She removed inconvenient data points going against her hypothesis in order to publish her biggest paper. (see: https://x.com/jonatanpallesen/status/2000387665695219997?s=20)
Having her be the president of Harvard is bad, but it makes some sense. Paying her $3 million to be a political scientist, a job she is useless at, does not make any sense. It is highly disrespectful to the students paying tuition."

Steve McGuire on X - "“Recent evidence suggests that Harvard’s upper administration sees its own faculty as a problem that needs to be solved.” Yes."
Jason Locasale on X - "The problem is that an upper administration exists at all.  Universities weren’t meant to operate like corporations optimizing for brand protection and revenue extraction.  Faculty are treated as variables to manage, useful when they attract funding or prestige, disposable when they create risk.  These administrations tolerated and even empowered extreme behavior when it aligned with their branding and revenue strategy.  Until these institutions move away from this model where a centralized administrative class manages speech, behavior, and reputation, reform is only cosmetic."

Why I’m Leaving Harvard - "My four decades of experience at one of the world’s leading universities have given me a unique vantage point to trace the replacement of Western history by global history. This change is part of the reason why the younger generation finds itself in a state of moral and intellectual disorientation... We had just endured almost two years under the university’s strict Covid regime. This was a form of emergency governance that mirrored to a fault the whole country’s uncritical acceptance of The Science and its proclivity, when backed by public power, for tyrannous invasions of private life. At Harvard, professors were told we had to lecture in masks and give seminars on zoom. Neither practice accorded with my idea of liberal education.   The year earlier the university had collectively taken a knee during the Summer of Floyd. This turned out not to be empty virtue-signalling, as I expected, but had serious consequences for the way we conducted our affairs. In reviewing graduate student applicants in the fall of 2020 I came across an outstanding prospect who was a perfect fit for our program. In past years this candidate would have risen immediately to the top of the applicant pool. In 2021, however, I was told informally by a member of the admissions committee that “that” (meaning admitting a white male) was “not happening this year.” In the same year a certifiably brilliant undergraduate I had tutored, who was literally the best student at Harvard—he won the prize for the graduating senior with the best overall academic record—was rejected from all the graduate programs to which he applied. He too was a white male. I called around to friends at several universities to find out why on earth he had been rejected. Everywhere it was the same story: Graduate admissions committees around the country had been following the same unspoken protocol as ours. The one exception I found to the general exclusion of white males had begun life as a female. Harvard, I believe, is now on a better course under its current president, Alan Garber. The reaction to the Claudine Gay fiasco, which highlighted the university’s shocking indifference to the anti-Semitic demonstrations following the October 7 atrocities, compelled the Harvard Corporation, which chooses the president, to seek out a safe pair of hands... When late liberal pedagogy replaced Western civilization courses with global history, serious harm was done to the socialization of young Americans. When you don’t teach the young what civilization is, it turns out, people become uncivilized."
Diversity is about eradicating the existing order, not diversity
Weird, we are told that DEI is to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance and that discrimination against minorities is eliminated. Of course, the next copes are that white men have discriminated against others for so long, so it's their turn to be discriminated against and that this is good, and also that because society privileges them so much, discriminating against them just levels the playing field overall

Harvard professor calls out ‘exclusion of white males’ in scathing public resignation - "Hankins contrasted how history is taught in China, where national identity and patriotism are openly reinforced, with how it is taught in the United States, where Western history is often presented as something to be condemned or dismantled. “In the hands of hyper-progressive (or ‘woke’) practitioners, Western global history is often, indeed, actively anti-Western,” he wrote.  Harvard’s downfall, Hankins said, had begun decades prior. In the 1990s, the university was “under increasing pressure to hire more women faculty,” and thus, was forced to abandon some of its longstanding expectations.  “Since at the time women formed less than 10 percent of PhDs in history and were even rarer in the mid-career cohorts from which Harvard tended to hire, equality required that standards be lowered,” the professor observed... he concluded that, while one can “hope” for change in America’s existing higher education institutions, “for now, a better hope lies in building new institutions unencumbered by the corruption and self-hatred that infect the old.”"

Thread by @elianayjohnson on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "“We have not hired with tenure a historian in a Western field—ancient, medieval, early modern, or modern—in a decade; the last promotion to tenure from the junior ranks occurred in 2012.” “Meanwhile, the department has lost eight senior historians in Western fields—all major figures—through death, retirement, or departure for other universities. I will be the ninth, and I am not expecting to be replaced.” “It is hard to avoid the impression that, whether through hostility or neglect, Western history is being phased out or allowed to die on the vine at Harvard. My remaining colleagues in Western history are mostly distinguished specialists, but new blood is not flowing in. Meanwhile, the Hamilton School, founded only four years ago, has almost miraculously hired forty-eight outstanding scholars.”"

Thread by @MaxE2review on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "People know that much of academia is dominated by woke dogma, but they really don't grasp how extreme and how culty it truly is, even at the very highest levels. There are so many examples it's hard to know where to start. To illustrate it, let's do a deep dive into the head of the Cambridge faculty which hired Jason Arday (and where I once studied sociology). Her name is Hilary Cremin, and she famously referred to Arday as 'the best in the world'. But what else has she written?
She's described British schools as 'a contemporary form of fascism', that brutally oppress kids based on their race, gender and culture, despite the fact that literally no proper data supports this in any way.  I'm not making that up, it's a direct quote. Bear in mind this person is head of the education faculty, which trains teachers, at the most prestigious university in the world. But it doesn't end there, ofc.  She views humans as of no greater moral worth than any other living being, and looks excitedly forward to an end of 'speciesism' which oppressively views humans as more valuable than other beings (which, of course, we are). She believes that to achieve a utopian future, she the school system and society more broadly will need, to quote one reviewer, 'to have recognised perspectives on the world that differ from those of people who are “white, European, neuro-typical, heterosexual, middle class and male". It will privilege the “lived experience” of the humble as against the dogmatic truths and blind rationality of the powerful. In doing so it will draw on the “wisdom traditions” in Taoism, Buddhism, the Song Lines of the aboriginal peoples of Australia, and European Paganism.'
Prof. Cremin, who heads the faculty of Education at Cambridge, rails against the advancements of our civilisation, the scientific method, modernity and the enlightenment, etc - which she only ever describes in negative terms as built upon the supposedly problematic belief in empirical truth and rationality. This is despite the fact that that they have resulted in advancements in human wellbeing and flourishing previously unparalleled in world history.
To quote one reviewer (Dr Nicolas Tate, who I forgot to credit in 1/): 'She asserts that our contemporary world is also one of “violence”, that word being redefined to cover anything the author does not like: hence the “slow violence” of the degradation of the environment and the “structural and cultural violence” of rule by white male elites. In a book of 190 pages the word “violence” occurs 81 times and “emergency” 48 times. Nowhere are the massive improvements that “modernity” has brought to people’s standard of living, health and longevity even mentioned.' In her book, Prof. Cremin, head of the Cambridge Education faculty which hired Arday, 'dismisses the Enlightenment and “modernity” as a backward step, their legacy an unhealthy obsession with rationality and empirical truth, a cult of “humanism” (redefined by the author to mean patriarchy and white dominance).'  That's a quote from Tate again - you can read his article here - dailysceptic.org/2026/09/17/mee…
I've zoomed in on Cremin here but this stuff is absolutely commonplace within social sciences, and more broadly across academia as a whole. From where it seeps into our media, culture and beyond. It's a major scandal, which I'll be doing my best to shine a light on. Follow on here for updates."
We're still told that left wingers don't hate their countries, and Western civilisation

Melissa Chen on X - "So Cambridge University is abandoning its plan to investigate its hiring of Jason Arday and instead focus on whether they were sufficiently POLITE and caring during the process.  Let me help you out, Cambridge. You have been way too polite and compassionate this whole time and this is exactly why Arday is dead and why your reputation is in the toilet.   You abandoned hiring standards, then called any questions vile and scrutiny a hate crime.   That is what put a man in a job he didn't belong in.  I genuinely don’t know how anyone respects Cambridge University after this. If you’re an alum you might as well shred the degree."

Max Klinger on X - "Have just received an astonishing, and very detailed, statement from an esteemed lecturer at Oxbridge. Goes into significant detail about the way that, in this lecturer’s view, their institution has been gripped by deeply illiberal woke dogma. I will be releasing the full thing soon.
Among other things, it includes claims that:
• students are having ideologically-driven conclusions pushed on them
•universities as a whole are hiring people not based on academic excellence but on their conformity with woke zeitgeists and their immutable characteristics
•DEI-style hiring practices are so ubiquitious across the university sector as to essentially amount to a form of discrimination
•Unrigorous, activist-style research and behaviour is commonplace among academics
And much more.
Genuinely quite staggering to read, even though none of it is in any way surprising.  I will be post it soon as part of my efforts to expose and highlight the way that universities are laundering progressive activism through the academy."

Lavinia on X - "At Caius College, Cambridge, attendance of these 1.5 hour-long inclusivity training sessions is mandatory for all undergrads.  The sessions will be delivered by Stop Hate UK, who erroneously state that "gender identity" is a protected characteristic and that "Islamophobia is a crime."  One would hope these are honest mistakes and they will be correcting them @stophateuk.  It will be interesting to hear what they have to say about the hate myself and others experienced at Cambridge for having the temerity to join a society for women that excludes men. Their website talks a lot about The Law and they seem to be very much in favour of the crime of Hate as a category: the word itself is menacingly capitalised throughout their material with the ominous implication that the violence or harassment ordinarily necessary for hatred to constitute a Hate Crime is somehow superfluous, and that simply Hating silently in your head should be sufficient.   I wonder if they like the law so much when it comes to the protected characteristic of belief in the binary nature of sex and the Supreme Court judgment clarifying that sex in law means biological sex. We shall soon find out.   In any case, by bringing them in and mandating attendance, Caius College is at best tacitly endorsing this ideological pressuring of students into being firmly on the woke side of a culture war they are determined not to wade out of, even given recent events. Training will of course include American rubbish about unconscious bias, microaggressions and how to be an Upstander against heteronormative hypermasculinity.   No doubt some administrator has looked over this charity and their session descriptions and decided there's nothing at all controversial here, nothing political, just kindness."
Colin the Barbarian @OXSOC@sciences.social on X - ""...to ensure a collective and unified response." Next step will be the issuing of the little red book. First self-criticism event Friday morning. Struggle sessions on Sunday afternoon."
Clearly, the far left just want everyone's basic needs to be met

Wesley Yang on X - "White male political science PhD's were half as likely to be hired as professors in 2023 as both "underrepresented minority" men and women"
Sam Schulman ن on X - "Hey kids: That young white male prof of yours has had to surmount incredible obstacles in order to have the privilege of teaching you. He is sure to be first-rate."
Brandon Warmke on X - "Apparently, being a woman on the poli sci job market gave candidates a better chance of getting a tenure track job than co-authoring in APSR, the flagship journal. When academics weren't lying about discrimination ever happening, they were lying about it never sacrificing merit."

Thread by @Tool_Being on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "White males are less than half as likely to successfully land a professorship than non-white males. You don't get stats like this without blatant systemic discrimination. If it was against any other group the government would be burning down whole institutions right now.Another way to interpret this is to say a white male applicant is getting compared to other applicants in the most competitive group and you need to to be in top 19% of group to land the job. If you are a non-white male applicant, on the other hand, you’re application is getting compared to others in less competitive group and you only have to be in top 40% of that group to get the job. Big difference."
If you think there's discrimination against white men, you're a far right extremist spreading misinformation

Maarten Boudry on X - "Just the other day, one of the few remaining liberals in my department, Freddy Mortier (now officially retired), made some remarks about @nathancofnas ’s suspension during a graduation ceremony.   After making clear that he has no sympathy whatsoever for Cofnas’s views, he argued that even thorny ideas should be openly discussed rather than shut down.   Predictably, students jeered and booed him, preventing him from continuing his speech. Both students and colleagues then walked out in protest.  So what did the dean do? She took the stage to apologize for her colleague’s “completely inappropriate” remarks, to loud applause and cheers from the students.  In other words, she encouraged and rewarded the hecklers. The level of cowardice is simply astonishing."
Left wingers are terrified of free speech, because they can't control it and bully others into pushing the left wing agenda

Leviathan on X - "The itinerary for Frosh Week at @Concordia University includes Harm Reduction Training to ensure safe consumption of hard drugs, a Palestine solidarity event, and “Queer Antifascist Resistance in Quebec.” The upcoming generation is in the very worst of hands."

Thread by @mboudry on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "My former philosophy department at @UGent banned the teaching of this paper by Anomaly & Faria, in a philosophy class by my colleague Bouke De Vries. Why? Because it discusses demography and migration as potential threats to liberal societies, and something called “biocultural continuity”! The horror! It sounds almost... conservative! Someone please protect the students! If you ask me, one of the main dangers facing liberalism is precisely that (some) liberals want to shut down debate about the threats it faces. So what else could we do? Bouke invited me to join efforts and write a paper in reply, which critically evaluates and challenges Anomaly & Faria's argument. It has now been accepted for publication. So can liberalism survive itself? Anomaly and Faria fear it may not, pointing to low birth rates, cultural fragmentation, mass migration from illiberal cultures, and liberalism’s self-imposed constraints. In our paper, we’re more hopeful. Open societies adapt faster; people defect and switch ideologies when facades crack; technology gives them an edge; and authoritarian regimes have demographic problems of their own. Liberalism ain't finished yet. This was a somewhat adversarial collaboration, which are often the most interesting. Bouke is more pessimistic and tends to think that demography (largely) determines our destiny, whereas I take a more sanguine view of the robustness of liberal democracy and focus more on cultural transmission—which can undermine demographic advantages through the horizontal transmission of ideas and ideological defection. Liberalism is inherently attractive, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. To be published soon—and banned in a classroom near you!
This is what the distinguished “educational committee” had to say about the decision to discuss the paper in class: “a serious error of judgment.” It sounds Orwellian, but this is the state of academia today—or at least of @UGent. The problem of ideological capture has been a long time in the making, and it’s only getting worse."
Brandon Warmke on X - "For those outside philosophy, some backround: This paper appears in Social Philosophy & Policy, a very good and mainstream philosophy journal edited by Dave Schmidtz and published by Cambridge. Top moral and political philosophers regularly publish there from across the political spectrum and by invitation. All papers are blind peer reviewed. This volume on "Global Crises" was guest edited by Allen Buchanan. The paper's topic and method are standard for work in PPE (philosophy, politics, economics), where you try address questions using the tools of each discipline. Hard to see what the complaint could be aside from just political or personal animus. But that's obviously not a reason to disallow a professor from assigning a reading."

Max Klinger on X - "Having studied this stuff at Cambridge, I'm now on a one-man mission to expose the sheer, unimaginable levels of fraudulence and grift within academia. This is even more important now that the people who produce this stuff are trying to attack anyone who does so as 'racist' etc. Here are a few real examples of claims made by esteemed, frequently cited, well paid academics in prestigious journals:
1)Expecting maths students to get the correct answers is racist, and is a form of 'white supremacy culture' as it places an absolute emphasis on getting a single 'right answer'
2)'Time' is a racist concept, and expecting people to arrive on time is racist and a form of, you guessed it, 'white supremacy' (again)
3)Donald Duck cartoons are a key means by which American imperialism operates
4)Childrens' cartoons and pop music are tools of capitalistic domination
5)E = MC squared is a 'sexed equation'
6) Telling kids to take their hoods off in class is racist
There are so many more I don't even know where to begin. I'll be putting more out on here in the coming days. Jason Arday's death was tragic. But it can't be used to stifle legitimate criticism of this absolute racket.  Follow on here for updates."

The Nation on X - "At the end of Gazelle Mba's time at Oxford, she was told if she "wanted to study anything related to Black people," she "was better off leaving the institution as soon as possible and heading to the United States.""
Cosmopolitan Reactionary on X - "I ask this with genuine curiosity: what explains the monomania some black academics have for writing and researching about themselves?   I mean no offense to my Irish compatriots who dedicate their lives to Irish history, language, etc., but I can’t imagine anything more boring than being Irish in an Irish Studies department full of Irish people talking (whining, really) about being Irish.   In the context of a university (whose very name derives from the Latin universitas, meaning “the whole”) it seems like racial solipsism taken to an absurd, almost sinful degree."
Dotty Gale on X - "Gazelle Mba is from Nigeria. Claudine Gay is from Haiti. Jason Arday's parents were from Ghana. Dr. Ian Andre Roberts is from Guyana.  They voluntarily left their homelands and then made careers writing about black oppression in their adopted countries.  Because there's such a demand for that kind of black scholarship that they're practically imported for it."

Oxford and Cambridge Have Always Been Racist | The Nation - "The summer before I began studying as an undergrad at the University of Oxford, I braced myself for racism. I spent several hours each day preparing by scrolling through blogs, newspaper articles, and social-media posts"
When you prime yourself to see racism, you'll see it, e.g. the Dartmouth Scar Experiment
It's weird how "minorities" are so eager to enter spaces where they will be relentlessly oppressed

Closure of Birmingham City University black studies MA ‘blindsides’ staff (aka "Staff 'blindsided' as black studies MA course axed")
Daniel Friedman on X - "Charging a black person tuition that they finance with debt to receive a terminal master’s degree in black studies is greater cruelty than about 99% of the things actual racists have done to black people since 1960.  A PhD can lead to an academic job and comes with funding. But a master’s degree? Why does such a program exist?"
There were only 8 people enrolled in it too.

The Conservative Pipeline Problem - "The study -- "Left Pipeline: Why Conservatives Don't Get Doctorates" -- argues that the much debated minority status for conservatives in higher education may be the result of differing priorities of graduating college seniors of different political persuasions. The study presents evidence that conservatives are significantly more likely than liberals -- at the point when college students decide whether to apply to graduate school -- to value raising a family and having money. In contrast, liberals at that point in their lives are significantly more likely to value writing original works."
From 2007 (so the ideological bias of academia as a factor wouldn't have been as strong at the time). Left wingers were quipping that historians are liberal because they studied history. So much for that - they were liberal even before studying history
This would also explain the left's long march through the institutions - they value power more than earning money or having a family

Liam Out Loud on X - ""Studied history" doesn't explain why professors are all left-wing. Langbert's survey of 5,000+ professors found Communications and Anthropology at 100% registered Democrat.... literally ZERO conservative faculty.
- Religion 98.6%
- English 98%
- Sociology 97.8%
Even Engineering, the most "balanced" field, was 61.5%.   History teachers aren't left-wing, the entire academic apparatus is.   BUT THIS ISN'T BECAUSE THEY'RE SMARTER.  It's because they are more ruthless.  Marcuse's "repressive tolerance" was put into full force in the mid to late 20th century.   Leftists believed themselves to have moral license to treat right-wing thought itself as harm rather than disagreement.   This led to a hostile environment against anyone Conservative.   Then factor in administration and affirmative action policies that favour left-wing leaning groups (blacks, women, gays, etc etc).   This created two-way pressure: push out conservative faculty and students, while simultaneously stacking the deck of newcomers with leftists.   Andrew Lobaczewski called this "negative selection."   Opposing viewpoints don't get hired, given tenure, and self-select out. Moderates leave. Then all that's left is... the left.   History doesn't teach you to be left-wing. Rather, the institutions were captured at the administrative level, restructured who gets through the gate, and now launder a monoculture with heavy ideological biases as "the expert consensus.""

Max Klinger on X - "Have been asking academics and students to provide examples and evidence of the ideological capture of their universities by progressivism. Here's another: 'Hi Max, I studied Social Anthropology. You step into the building and see the faces of Che Guevara, Castro, Chavez, Lenin, Marx, Engels, native marxist leaders graffitied everywhere, as well as feminist symbols and slogans on the hallway and classroom walls.
'The curriculum is...shaped around Marx and Marxist-inspired thinkers....We engaged very, very little with anything else.
'The biggest difference I could tell from the rest of the world is that my professors were very comfortable about expressing their beliefs and assigned normative judgements to everything. Marxism, socialism, and communism are good, but capitalism and religion are evil, this is in spite of my country's very troubled past with Marxists.
My school routinely mocks the church and conservatives but intellectually it's the most closed off space.'
This example is from South America. This is a truly global phenomenon. I have included an image from one such university square below. I also found academic literature, published in British academic journals, arguing that it's great these walls are covered in these figures, which they deem a form of noble 'resistance'.
As I say, this is not a UK-only phenomenon by any means. Vast swathes of what gets held up as profound academic research is little more than openly partisan leftist/woke activism.  Follow on here for more examples"

Max Klinger on X - "I’m running a project to try and push against progressive ideological capture within academia. The following are quotes from a statement sent to me by an Oxbridge academic:
'The rot of hard left-wing, woke ideology has now become clearly embedded within teaching...the students are now being taught that academia is the same as activism. It is a farce.
‘I thought that universities were hiring people to pursue excellence in research and teaching—instead, they are hiring people based upon conformity to the ideological zeitgeist.’
‘Universities do not want the best academics or teachers: they want ‘yes men’ who will not cause a fuss and only further entrench and spread the EDI drumbeat.’
‘Oxbridge, amongst other universities, has been plagued by the reform of syllabi under the banner of “decolonisation”.’
‘Universities should teach students about how to think in the pursuit of truth. Universities today, however, have descended into relativism. The idea of objective truth has been replaced by the idea that all views are equally valid, and even worse, that conservative and ‘traditional’ views are to be dismissed as outdated and invalid. This is the menacing agenda of ‘decolonising’ the curriculum.’
‘The role of an academic [has been devalued to] nothing more than an ideologue. What on earth is going on? Are universities social justice warriors? What is the point of students attending university if they are simply going to be told that authors are racist, sexist, anti-feminist, old, white men?’’"
