Links - 5th January 2026 (1 - Trans Mania)

Hunter Ash on X - "I was a trans progressive. Not quite a communist. More of a stancil-style technocratic prog. I saw firsthand how transition failed to improve the lives of any of my trans friends. They were all mentally ill messes, before and after. Including me. The MtFs I knew did not seem psychologically feminine in any way. And generally, I was often frustrated by the lack of pragmatism of progressives. I shared their stated goals, but thought they were extremely illogical about how they went about trying to achieve them. They would choose moral posturing over efficacy every time. Several times, when I pointed this out, I was told this was a “fascist mindset”. Trying to do things effectively was fascist to them. They thought moral purity was all you need.  I took mushrooms on New Year’s Eve, 2022, and it all came crashing down. I sat in a dark room and the cracks in my worldview widened until it all fell apart. I realized that this attitude, this allergy to rigorous thinking and aversion to necessary trade-offs, this prioritizing of seeming virtuous over tangible results, would destroy civilization if left unchecked.  By the time I came down, I considered myself a terf despite still being trans. And I started reading everything I’d been told not to. I read J. K. Rowling’s open letter and agreed with every word. I read “The Case for Colonialism” by @BruceDGilley  and works by Niall Ferguson and realized that the wealth of the West was created by our ability to innovate, not stolen. Indeed, that wealth, built from knowledge, was what enabled colonialism in the first place. I read the Bell Curve and dove into the hereditarian literature. I have enough math background that I could meaningfully understand the arguments and counterarguments, and the former seemed much stronger than the latter. More than that, it felt like hereditarians were actually trying to understand the world, while the anti-hereds were trying to obscure it. They did not feel like truth-seekers, and would frequently mix moral outrage into their technical critiques in a way that struck me as deeply suspicious and anti-scientific.   Over several months of intense study, I reversed my position on most major policy issues. But the deeper change was philosophical, even spiritual. I fully accepted the necessary imperfection of the world, that progress is only possible via sacrifice, that we can only advance as a society if we can tolerate some people losing, that trying to eliminate all pain and loss would end up causing far more. Inequality is not inherently bad, and indeed is a necessary condition for the growth of knowledge at every scale of existence, from biology to economics. Evolution, whether biological or memetic or economic, is the only mechanism in existence that can produce order from chaos, structure from noise, beauty from nothingness. And evolution requires that weaker organisms, weaker ideas, weaker companies, and weaker nations be allowed to fail. Trying to prevent this stops the great engine of creation and leads to decay.   “To the precise extent that we are spared, even for a moment, we degenerate”  This strikes most as cold and cruel. But it is the nature of reality, and it is not clear it could be otherwise even in principle. If my aesthetics were not aligned with it, then my aesthetics, rather than the structure of existence, were what was wrong. I learned to see the beauty in creative destruction. I glimpsed a vision of God. And it changed my life. I detransitioned, started posting, got a job (via X), fell in love (via X). Now some of the most important people in the world read the words I write. I feel a deep and abiding sense of gratitude. And, after years of severe depression, I am excited to be alive."

Diana Alastair💚🤍💜 ⚢ ❌❌ on X - "This is what trans activists did to Vancouver Rape Relief, the only rape crisis center and shelter in all of Canada that is run exclusively by women, for women. And why? Because VRR refused to allow a transvestite to volunteer as a rape counselor.   They also nailed a dead rat to the door — these marginalized, victimized “women.” All Mr. Kimberly Nixon wanted was the right to sit alone in a room with a rape survivor and question her about her experience - with a clipboard in his lap the entire time, no doubt - and what’s so wrong about that?  These men simply cannot stand the thought of women having anything of our own - not a bathroom, not a prison cell; not even the right to care for one another in the aftermath of male sexual violence. We are to have nothing, not even a name.   If we object, or dare to fight back, we get death threats, rape threats, actual violence, and dead rats nailed to the door — and we are told that the men doing these things to us are the most vulnerable of women, whom we are harming dreadfully with our refusal to submit to their demands.   The harm caused to us by their colonization of womanhood, their intrusion into what used to be our safe spaces, and their insistence that their dehumanizing, fetishistic mimicry makes them one of us is our own fault.   The little girls who have been exposed to naked men in dressing rooms are to blame for looking; the ones who got raped at knifepoint in women’s bathrooms are a “statistical anomaly,” and the incarcerated women who are raped by male cellmates with a history of sexual violence shouldn’t have gotten themselves locked up in the first place. Prison isn’t supposed to be a nice place…but incarcerated trans-identifying men should get female cellmates and all the elective surgery and hormones they want on the taxpayer’s dime, even if all they’re doing with the hormones is selling them to menopausal female inmates.  The truth is that these men hate women. They hate us for being women with a sick, pathological jealousy that can only be partially soothed by our participation in their game of make-believe. Our role in their eyes is to support their charade by telling them how beautiful they are, how well they pass, how much we wish we looked like them, and - in the case of lesbians - to validate their womanhood by spreading our legs and providing access our bodies.   Refusal and resistance - no matter how slight - are met with the kind of behavior one has come to associate with incels who have just been turned down: behavior that is loudly, angrily, and threateningly male, and which demonstrates to any reasonable observer exactly why we don’t want these men around when we are especially vulnerable.  When a group of people march around with signs that urge others’ decapitation, and which tell anyone who doesn’t agree with their ideology to commit suicide, while the people they claim are abusing them are only asking to be left alone, you’d have to be either an idiot or the worst kind of liar to say that the second group is the problem."

Diana Alastair💚🤍💜 ⚢ ❌❌ on X - "I’m sure you all remember Avery Jackson, the “trans girl” who, at 9, was on the cover of National Geographic. Avery was given the gold standard in gender affirming care: he was chemically castrated and sterilized with Lupron - a medication usually prescribed to castrate sex offenders, but used on trans-identifying boys to prevent the onset of puberty.  Now, at age 17, Avery has come out as “nonbinary.” He also identifies as asexual, meaning that he doesn’t experience sexual attraction.   This is undoubtedly the result of the Lupron which stopped him from going through puberty. The president of WPATH, Dr, “Marci” Bowers, has said on camera that so-called “puberty blockers” chemically castrate boys who take them, leaving them incapable of arousal or orgasm as adults.   For adult sex offenders, the process is reversible. For boys like Avery, the effects are permanent. He will never feel sexual attraction, or any of the experiences that accompany it.   Avery is also sterile; he can never father a child, and his own childhood was spent in the national spotlight. The chemical castration he endured has also stunted his growth and mental development in irreversible ways. Parts of his body were prevented from developing fully, and so was his mind. His childhood and his normalcy were stolen from him, and he has said that transitioning “ruined [his] life.”  It is high time that we stop pretending that children can make an informed decision to transition or take blockers, even if their doctors are honest about the risks and consequences — which most are not.   Blockers are not reversible: the intellectual deficits and physical underdevelopment that Lupron causes will never repair themselves, and neither will the damage done to the child victim’s emotional intelligence and maturity. This will, of course, make it easier to push them into transitioning; that is, to sell them hormones and provide surgical alterations.  This is the medication that will be used to experiment on hundreds of children as young as 11 in a newly-announced clinical trial in the UK.   220 children will be involved in this study, even though the damage that “puberty blockers” cause to the sexual function and intellectual capacity of children has been well-documented, and the UK is just one country that has banned their use.   The trial is being carried out anyway, according to Dr. Hilary Cass, because “[as] there are clinicians, children and families who believe passionately in the beneficial effects [of puberty blockers], a trial was the only way forward to make sense of this."   In other words, the demands of children, transhausen parents, and the clinicians who profit from pushing this drug are being allowed to overrule clear and objective evidence that it is harmful to the children who take it."

TransgenderTrend on X - "If you wonder why the trans movement is so keen on pushing 'non-binary' and 'asexual' as normal identities, it's because they know it's the future for these children."
Wilfred Reilly on X - "This is completely insane.  Probably tens of thousands of children were given a drug designed to stop the worst rapists from reoffending. Most saw no "penile growth" from age nine or so, and will never have an orgasm. Some may end up as catamites for doms and/or older gay men - hard to imagine any will ever find normal love.   We have reinvented the eunuch, in a rather poorer time for library management."

Sall Grover on X - "“What makes you a woman? I’m like I just know & it’s not because I look ‘down there’ or whatever’s at the top or bottom. That’s not what makes me a woman….” Then how is anyone “born in the wrong body”? Why medicalize anyone with puberty blockers with cross sex hormones if it’s got NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR BODY?  As horrific as gender ideology is, it’s equally bonkers stupid. Just the stupidest sh-t you’ve ever heard with disastrous consequences."

pagliacci the grinch 🎄🎁 on X - "ok I think I have a submission for the best location reveal yet. last year, I posted about female onlyfans models who were pissing off all the troons because they were pretending to be transgender, seemingly to make some "trans porn" cash. AS IT TURNS OUT... those "female onlyfans models" were actually indian and african men pretending to be white women pretending to be transgender."

Kara Dansky on X - "In 2024, a girl named Dagny Benedict took her own life. In 2019, she had been sexually abused by her father, James. He was convicted, served time, and was released. He was later rearrested for failure to register, as required by law.  When she died, @TheDemocrats , the establishment left, and the mainstream media referred to Dagny as a "nonbinary" student named Nex and blamed "anti-trans" bullying for her suicide.  None of them bothered to mention that she had been sexually abused by her father.   Now we know, thanks to @DistMag , that James now calls himself a woman named "Chloe Elizabeth." He's listed on the California sex offense registry as female.  These are #NotOurCrimes."

Wesley Yang on X - "The man who raped his nine-year old who identified as nonbinary before killing herself, whose death was exploited by trans activists as a suicide caused by "transphobia," now identifies as a woman while imprisoned for his rape and all record of his crime has been scrubbed from the public record.   California just made it a crime to disclose the identity of trans-identified people who have changed their names, providing state-protected secrecy for any child rapist or murderer who decides he wants a clean record."

Dr. Hedy Fry on X - "On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember all of the transgender persons who have been victims of violence, who have been murdered, and who have died."
Jonathan Kay on X - "umm… could I get a list of the transgender Canadians who’ve been killed over the last few years? I’m having trouble finding any names. (*surely* there must be thousands, because all these politicians keep talking about the transphobic pogroms that Canada regularly witnesses.)"

Derek Fildebrandt on X - "10 years ago, we believed this was about treating different people with equal respect.  We (incorrectly) did not imagine that this would be warped into sex changes for children, men in women’s change rooms/sports/shelters, and psychotic disbelief in biological sex.  We were wrong. I was wrong.    The goodwill we had is gone. Now, it’s war to reclaim simple ancient and self evident facts that we compromised to the detriment of our children & civilization."

Zohran Kwame Mamdani on X - "On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city. We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely."
John Doyle on X - "This is really funny because they make it sound like chuds are going out at night to hunt down drag queens but every time this happens it’s literally just like a black guy finding out his hooker was a guy and then just immediately killing him"
Gay Costanza on X - "Steve Sailer documented like every trans murder over some period of time, and the majority were exactly as you described"

Thread by @wesyang on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "A federal court judge in Texas just granted a request by two female inmates for a temporary restraining order requiring the Bureau of Prisons to separate male prisoners from their living quarters.  It is the first time a federal court judge has ruled that biological male prisoners cannot be housed with female prisoners.  The restraining order will last until the resolution of the Trump Department of Justice's claim that the female prisoners have no standing to file suit because they have not exhausted standard avenues of redress.  (Although the lawsuit seeks to compel the Bureau of Prisons to act in accordance with a Trump Executive Order banning men from women's prisons, Trump's Department of Justice continues to defend the lawsuit vigorously -- why they are doing so is a question I'll be following up on this week. A federal district court judge in DC has blocked the implementation of Trump's order, which called for the removal of all male inmates from female prisons but did not enjoin the prisons from separating male from female prisoners in the same facility, which is the remedy the plaintiffs sought and were granted by the ruling.)  The inmates will argue that their attempts to use standard avenues were met by a pattern of foot dragging and intimidation that renders the requirement void.  The male inmates, only one of whom has had sex reassignment surgery, (the rest of whom have fully intact male genitals) include:
-- A man convicted of raping a 75-year old woman and kidnapping and sexually assaulting a child
-- A man who murdered his wife's lover with a pipe bomb
-- A bank robber who founded a white supremacist organization that sought to overthrow the United States government
-- A repeat sex offender whose victims include a nine-year old boy and a 17-year old girl
As of January 2025, there were 1,413 men who claimed to be women housed in US federal prisons based entirely on the self-identification of the men.  51 percent of those men were sex offenders -- four times the rate of non-trans-identified male prisoners  There have always been bureaucratic insanities but helping violent male criminals more than half of whom are sex offenders falsify their sex is a new level of insanity. Transgenderism does this to everything it touches."

Sarah McBride on X - "When politicians claim that an issue affecting only a handful of people is the most important one in an election, we have to ask ourselves: Why? It’s a distraction—meant to divert the federal government’s time and attention toward hurting everyday Americans. And yes, that  includes the very people who voted for them in the last election, too."
Andy Ngo on X - "Trans is focused on so heavily because it’s a proxy for undermining some of the most fundamental things actually. Trans ideology at its core is about spreading lies about biology and humanity, and using institutions, culture, thuggery and/or the state to enforce those lies."
If the TRA agenda is unimportant and a distraction, why do left wingers keep pushing it?

Benjamin Ryan on X - "Astrophysicist Katie Mack reposted on Bluesky a Substack article by Erin Reed about a new study with the proclamation that “Gender-affirming care saves lives.”  And yet it is not possible that this study, given it was observational, could have identified such a causal link. Nor did it state anything about whether such treatment saves lives.   In fact, I asked the study’s lead author if his paper reached the conclusion that Reed claimed, that it showed that pediatric gender-transition treatment reduced the suicide death rate. He said that it did not.  Only one study has ever directly assessed whether providing cross-sex hormones to youth attending gender clinics was associated with a statistically significant, independent difference in the suicide death rate. It found no such difference.  Why is a woman with a PhD citing an activist Substacker who claims the contrary about a study that she woefully misrepresented in her Substack?"

Transgender castle owner drops lawsuit after NHS refused third sex change surgery - "A transgender laird has dropped legal action against the NHS after it refused to carry out a third sex-change surgery.  Samantha Kane, who was born male, is thought to be the only person in Britain to have changed their gender three times.  The laird, who is now self-styled as Lady Carbisdale after buying a £5m Scottish castle, had surgery in 1997 to become Samantha, before having it reversed and taking on the identity of Charles Kane in 2004.  Kane sued University College London Hospital (UCLH) NHS Foundation Trust, alleging that doctors had refused a request for a third surgery to revert to a woman in 2017.  This led to Kane having a private procedure in Serbia in 2018, which was allegedly “botched”.  Kane alleged that the NHS then refused treatment again after the Serbian procedure allegedly resulted in “infected” surgical devices being left inside the laird’s body. UCLH medics finally agreed to help in 2021, Kane said.  A legal claim lodged by the trained engineer, barrister and business tycoon said the refusal to provide treatment amounted to negligence, discrimination and a breach of human rights."
Clearly he only transitioned back because of transphobia, so for the NHS not to do a third operation is literally trans genocide

Trans ideology ‘more repressive than McCarthyism’ - "Trans ideology is more repressive than McCarthyism, the lawyer representing Sandie Peggie has claimed.  With weeks to go before a verdict on the nurse’s case against NHS Fife, Naomi Cunningham compared the transgender movement to the witch hunt for communists that swept 1950s America during the Cold War.  The barrister made the comparison during a discussion about why the Supreme Court’s ruling on the biological definition of a woman has taken so long to be implemented by public bodies. Ms Cunningham blamed the “grip” transgender ideology has on civil society and said it was analogous to that of McCarthyism.  Speaking on the BBC’s Scotcast podcast, she said: “I’ve been saying for some years we are looking at the most extraordinary social phenomenon of my lifetime.  “The only thing that I can compare it to, which is obviously not in my lifetime, is McCarthyism. My parents were both in Washington around the time of McCarthyism and so I grew up as a teenager with stories of that.”  She went on: “I remember thinking it couldn’t happen here because British people are more sane than Americans. And it couldn’t happen now because we’ve grown beyond that sort of stupidity and superstition.  “And here we are, where something even madder than McCarthyism has taken hold, even madder, and in many ways more vicious, I think, although I don’t probably have the history to make the comparison properly.”... Asked who the victims are, Ms Cunningham said: “The victims are the people who hang on to reality. And are being hounded out of their jobs up and down the country.”... “I think this ideology has sunk its claws so deeply into our institutions that it’s really hard to shake free of it,” she said."

Dusty Deevers on X - "A transgender professor at OU, a taxpayer-funded university, gave Samantha Fulnecky a 0/25 not for bad writing, but because her biblical view of gender “offended” the professor.  At a public university, this raises serious First Amendment concerns and looks a lot like unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination by a state actor.  The assignment invited a personal reaction. It did not forbid religious reasoning. Samantha followed the prompt. The professor’s own comments show the grade turned on her beliefs being “offensive,” not on whether her paper met basic academic standards.  If a conservative professor gave a Muslim or transgender student a zero for expressing their convictions, the university would treat it as a civil-rights crisis. The standard must be the same when the student is a Christian.  Public universities cannot punish protected speech or religious expression simply because a professor dislikes the viewpoint.  @UofOklahoma  needs to respond like a serious institution:
- Review and correct Samantha’s grade based on neutral academic criteria.
- Reaffirm that she will not be penalized for sincerely held religious or moral beliefs.
- Ensure professors cannot override assignment guidelines to punish dissent.
…Or expect accountability.
Students do not lose their rights because a professor is offended."
Proof that there's no left wing bias in colleges and that right wingers want to destroy academic freedom!

Diana Alastair💚🤍💜 ⚢ ❌❌ on X - "I’m not saying it’s universal, but every single “non-binary” person I have ever met has been a self-centered, emotionally unstable narcissist who needed to be the center of attention at all times, and believed that their “identity“ made them a super special snowflake who was more important than everybody around them."

The Heretical Liberal 🇨🇦 on X - "Insanity. Four trans academics argue that pregnant women who identify as men sbould continue taking testosterone despite the known risks to the fetus, because wanting healthy babies is a "problematic" focus on "normative bodies". If youre a mother amd you want a healthy child, youre really just a transphobic bigot.  We really have gotten to the "so open minded your brains fell put" stage as a society"

Graham Linehan is a hero for our times - "How did something as self-evidently bonkers as trans ideology gain such a powerful grip over our society? Over our politics, our universities, the BBC and countless other institutions? Funnily enough, the people I blame most are not the fanatics who actually believe in this nonsense – for the simple reason that there are, in reality, very few of them.  No, I think the real blame lies with a group of people who are rather more numerous. That is: the cowards who just went silently along with it all, or even pretended to believe in it, because they didn’t dare speak out...  Why? Some, no doubt, were just scared of the damage that piping up might do to their bank balance. But there’s another, arguably greater reason. Psychologically speaking, an awful lot of elite liberals are still stuck in secondary school. In their teens, they were gawky geeks and insecure spods, pathetically desperate for the approval of the cool kids. And decades on, they still are. Their single most paralysing fear is to be made to relive the rejection they suffered as teenagers for the crime of being deemed uncool.  So, if you’ve ever wondered why almost all famous actors, authors, comedians and musicians appear to hold the exact same fashionable views on politics, “culture war issues” and just about everything else, wonder no more.  One honourable exception, however, is Graham Linehan... Consider all that he’s had to forfeit, too. Huge sums of money, his showbiz standing, God knows how many career opportunities – and all for a cause from which he, being a man, does not directly stand to benefit. He could very easily, therefore, have done what most other male celebrities have done: ie. nothing. Just kept the hell out of the whole hideous row, for his own damned good.  But he didn’t. Instead, he was man enough to stand up for what he believes. And it’s cost him almost everything but his self-respect. Of course, to applaud Mr Linehan is not remotely to downplay the efforts of the many women who were campaigning on this issue long before him, and who have lost just as much, or more. But it does matter that he’s a man – because he’s shown other men that they too need to fight this viciously authoritarian movement. And to recognise that, under its terms, “Be kind” really means be compliant, be meek – and be quiet."
Left wingers are deluded that you need to be brave to spout left wing orthodoxy, when they try to destroy everyone who deviates from it
