Investigative journalist David Collier, who revealed the identities of those involved, said: âHow did the BBC let a son of a Hamas minister walk around looking for sympathy and demonising Israel for an hour in a documentary? âThe BBC is publishing Hamas propaganda. âThe current hierarchy at the BBC has turned a once respected state broadcaster into a propaganda outlet for a radical Islamic terror group.â... But the contract between the BBC and Hoyo suggests the corporation had direct and regular involvement - and shows action should have taken action... "These are not isolated incidents." Left-wing bias is alleged to have tainted BBC coverage of the Gaza War ever since October 7 and has sparked numerous calls for a crackdown. And a BBC reporter who triggered one of the first bias rows of the war was yesterday revealed to have sparked more fury with an inflammatory online post. On October 17 - ten days after Hamas massacred 1,200 people and grabbed 251 hostages - Jon Donnison told viewers it appeared "an Israeli air strike or several air strikes" had blitzed Gaza's Al-Ahli Hospital. It later emerged that a miss-fired Hamas rocket hit the medical centre in an attack reported to have claimed 500 lives. But Mr Donnison was slammed on X for posting on Saturday: "The propaganda efforts by both Hamas and Israel over the hostage releases are pretty nauseating." BBC removed references to âJewsâ and âjihadâ in Gaza documentary - "The BBC has been accused of âwhitewashingâ the views of participants in its controversial Gaza documentary after repeatedly mistranslating references to âthe Jewsâ and omitting praise of âjihadâ. The Telegraph can reveal that on at least five occasions the words Yahud or Yahudy â Arabic for âJewâ or âJewsâ â were changed to âIsraelâ or âIsraeli forcesâ, or were removed from the subtitles altogether. An interviewee praising Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader, for âjihad against the Jewsâ was also mistranslated as saying he was fighting âIsraeli forcesâ. The BBC is under pressure to reveal whether taxpayersâ money was given to Hamas during the making of Gaza: How To Survive A Warzone... a Gazan woman among a convoy fleeing from part of the besieged strip is asked by the cameraman: âWhatâs going on?â She replies: âThe Jews invaded our [area].â However, the BBC subtitles quote her as saying: âThe Israeli army invaded our area.â... a boy says that he had left home because of bombings and that âthe Jews came, they destroyed us, Hamas and the Jewsâ. This was translated in subtitles as âthe Israelis destroyed everything, and so did Hamasâ. In a harrowing scene 40 minutes into the film, in which a doctor amputates the arm of a child in front of the camera, the medic is quoted as saying: âLook what the Israelis are doing to the children of Gaza.â However, the word Israeli was not used by the doctor, according to a translation. Two minutes later, a young girl is seen watching Iranian missiles in the sky as the Islamic Republic launched its attack on Israel in October last year. âWeâre used to seeing flashes of lightning in the skyâ, the subtitles state. âBut now itâs real missiles. Weâre happy that for once the rockets arenât falling on us.â According to a translation by Camera, the girl actually says: âAt first, when we would see these [flashes], they would be flares, by the way. From the Jews. But now they turned out to be [real] missiles.â Around a minute later, a woman is interviewed about the Oct 7 Hamas attacks and is quoted as saying that was the âfirst time we invaded Israel â it was always the other way roundâ. However, she actually says: âWe were invading the Jews for the first time.â Towards the end of the documentary, a Palestinian woman holds her phone as she shows the camera crew footage of Sinwar being killed. In the subtitles, she is quoted as saying that âhis face was covered and his weapon was ready, prepared for battleâ, but a translation reveals she says that he was âready for jihadâ. Later, the participant is quoted as saying: âThe video shows that he was fighting and resisting Israeli forces. He wasnât hiding.â But according to Camera, the woman says: âHe was engaging in resistance and jihad against the Jews. Not underground.â Alex Hearn, the co-director of Labour Against Anti-Semitism, said the mistranslation of the word Jewish to Israeli was one of a number of âongoing issuesâ with âthe BBCâs sympathetic coverage of Hamasâ. âIn so doing, the BBC have sanitised views expressed about Sinwar, orchestrator of the Hamas massacre, and instead presented a more acceptable version for a Western audience,â he said. âIt is this whitewashing that keeps viewers ill-informed about the nature of Hamas, and promotes sympathy for their deadly ideology. This documentary signifies the institutional failure behind the BBCâs reporting of the Israel-Hamas conflict.â"

Do the BBC have in-house translators? Or did they hire translators for this documentary without conducting an appropriate background check? I cannot stress enough how I have never seen anything like this in well over a decade of working in this general area. Also: I donât speak Arabic but even I hear âYehudâ!"

Rachel Moiselle 𧥠on X - "Iâm going to break this down: This is not merely a mistranslation of âJewâ for Israeliâ, which is egregious in its own right and any argument that this is an appropriate translation is entirely in bad faith. The BBC changed âJewâ to âIsraeli *forces*â thereby falsely implying she is speaking of active duty soldiers. This malicious addition completely alters her meaning, and the viewerâs perception of her sentiments will be warped. Furthermore, the word âJihadâ, a fight against the enemies of Islam, is changed to âfighting and resistingâ thereby completely hiding the religious motivations that would be immediately known if it had been appropriately translated. Language is everything and translation is an art. The goal of translation is to accurately communicate the sentiments of the original speaker (or signer). Translators are ethically bound not to let oneâs own feelings or bias impact this pursuit. I will repeat that this is the single worst breach of these professional ethics that I have ever personally seen. In impact this whitewashes violence against Jews to millions of viewers, and it is hard to argue that this wasnât the deliberate intent."

On Saturday, Hamas staged an elaborate media event in âPalestine Squareâ in central Gaza to hand over four Israeli hostages, Karina, Daniella, Naama and Liri, projecting an image of strength and control. But behind the spectacle, they unknowingly gifted Israeli intelligence agencies a goldmine of actionable intelligence. And one golden evidence that could clear Israel in the International Court of Justice. What Hamas intended as a propaganda win has become an intelligence windfall for Israel. From identification of personnel to tracing equipment and corroborating claims in international legal battles, the event revealed far more than Hamas likely intended. Their media spectacle, meant to intimidate Israel, and portray an image of victory and control, may instead come back to haunt them as Israeli intelligence pieces together the puzzle they so freely provided. đœ
THE MEDIA CIRCUS THAT REVEALED TOO MUCH
Hamas choreographed every aspect of the event, but their attempts to showcase power became a glaring display of vulnerabilities. Hundreds of Gazans with smartphones and internet and GPS connection, filmed the event from multiple angles, inadvertently capturing faces, vehicles, and locations. The Hebrew signs displayed on stage saying âZionism Wonât Winâ trace back to local businesses, offering potential leads on suppliers and organizers. Even the table used in the event and was stationed in the middle of the stage, has appeared in earlier footage linked to Hamas headquarters, providing additional confirmation of operational locations. đœ
SUSPICIOUS âFIGHTERSâ IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The masked men posing to the cameras as Hamas fighters raised eyebrows. Their movements and handling of weapons lacked the discipline typical of trained operatives. Freshly issued uniforms suggested they were hastily assembled for show rather than representing active Qassam Brigade members. Their presence raises a question: Where are the real fighters for 1.5 years? If they were active in combat, Israeli forces would likely have neutralized them during the recent Gaza operations. Considering the presence of IDF forces in the area, real Qassam Brigades fighters would be a major target, even Hamas is not that foolish to put their best fighters in the front like that. đœ
CUTTING-EDGE FACE RECOGNITION
Israelâs Shin Bet is well-equipped to exploit such footage. Advanced AI facial recognition technology, developed by Israeli company Corsight, can identify individuals even under masks. By cross-referencing facial features - such as eyes and partial profiles with existing databases, Israeli intelligence could already be mapping key figures in Hamasâ ranks, including new recruits who are assisting them. đœ
THE FORENSIC TRAIL
The uniforms worn by the hostages will undoubtedly undergo DNA analysis to trace their captors and the area they were kept in. Similarly, the Tavor (TAR-21) rifles seen held by Hamas in the footage are of particular interest. These weapons, originally used exclusively by IDF soldiers, may have been taken during abductions of soldiers who fought on October 7th. Tracking the riflesâ origins could lead directly to those involved in the attacks or kidnappings. Possibly also lead to the whereabouts of IDF soldiers who are still in captivity. đœ
HAMASâS GRAVE MISTAKE WHICH PROVIDES ISRAEL A GOLDEN EVIDENCE IN THE ICC/ICJ
But hereâs the crown jewel of what Hamas has provided Israel, without even knowing: The Tavor rifles provide a counterargument to international claims implicating Israeli soldiers in civilian deaths. These claims in the ICC/ICJ are based solely on Forensic reports on the munition found in the deceased as evidence, claiming these civilians were killed by Israeli Tavor rifles. This evidence showing Hamas operatives wielding these weapons may serve as critical proof in debunking allegations against Israel in international courts.Especially with the amount of videos available of Hamas shooting its own people in the streets of Gaza, and the lack of ANY videos of IDF soldiers doing so. đœ"
