‘My heart is truly broken THIS is Ireland in 2025. During my business trip to Dublin, me and my coworker were assaulted by an organized group of girls for simply being Israelis. Previous to me filming the video, one of the girls approached me with camera to my face saying my name and basically all the intel she had about my stay in Dublin (the hotels I moved, the reason I came). It had been going like that for more than a couple minutes, with no one intervening. I had to film them so I could use that as evidence to the local police. Sadly, the police only came to the hotel two hours after the incident and didn't seem to care at all about the matter. This was an act of pure terrorism, and everyone was silent. BBC removed references to ‘Jews’ and ‘jihad’ in Gaza documentary - "The BBC has been accused of “whitewashing” the views of participants in its controversial Gaza documentary after repeatedly mistranslating references to “the Jews” and omitting praise of “jihad”. The Telegraph can reveal that on at least five occasions the words Yahud or Yahudy – Arabic for “Jew” or “Jews” – were changed to “Israel” or “Israeli forces”, or were removed from the subtitles altogether. An interviewee praising Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader, for “jihad against the Jews” was also mistranslated as saying he was fighting “Israeli forces”. The BBC is under pressure to reveal whether taxpayers’ money was given to Hamas during the making of Gaza: How To Survive A Warzone... a Gazan woman among a convoy fleeing from part of the besieged strip is asked by the cameraman: “What’s going on?” She replies: “The Jews invaded our [area].” However, the BBC subtitles quote her as saying: “The Israeli army invaded our area.”... a boy says that he had left home because of bombings and that “the Jews came, they destroyed us, Hamas and the Jews”. This was translated in subtitles as “the Israelis destroyed everything, and so did Hamas”. In a harrowing scene 40 minutes into the film, in which a doctor amputates the arm of a child in front of the camera, the medic is quoted as saying: “Look what the Israelis are doing to the children of Gaza.” However, the word Israeli was not used by the doctor, according to a translation. Two minutes later, a young girl is seen watching Iranian missiles in the sky as the Islamic Republic launched its attack on Israel in October last year. “We’re used to seeing flashes of lightning in the sky”, the subtitles state. “But now it’s real missiles. We’re happy that for once the rockets aren’t falling on us.” According to a translation by Camera, the girl actually says: “At first, when we would see these [flashes], they would be flares, by the way. From the Jews. But now they turned out to be [real] missiles.” Around a minute later, a woman is interviewed about the Oct 7 Hamas attacks and is quoted as saying that was the “first time we invaded Israel – it was always the other way round”. However, she actually says: “We were invading the Jews for the first time.” Towards the end of the documentary, a Palestinian woman holds her phone as she shows the camera crew footage of Sinwar being killed. In the subtitles, she is quoted as saying that “his face was covered and his weapon was ready, prepared for battle”, but a translation reveals she says that he was “ready for jihad”. Later, the participant is quoted as saying: “The video shows that he was fighting and resisting Israeli forces. He wasn’t hiding.” But according to Camera, the woman says: “He was engaging in resistance and jihad against the Jews. Not underground.” Alex Hearn, the co-director of Labour Against Anti-Semitism, said the mistranslation of the word Jewish to Israeli was one of a number of “ongoing issues” with “the BBC’s sympathetic coverage of Hamas”. “In so doing, the BBC have sanitised views expressed about Sinwar, orchestrator of the Hamas massacre, and instead presented a more acceptable version for a Western audience,” he said. “It is this whitewashing that keeps viewers ill-informed about the nature of Hamas, and promotes sympathy for their deadly ideology. This documentary signifies the institutional failure behind the BBC’s reporting of the Israel-Hamas conflict.”"

I can categorically say that this is the single worst breach of professional ethics I have ever seen. A deliberate mistranslation to hide genocidal antisemitism. I am truly floored. This is a stain on the BBC that will never be removed.
Do the BBC have in-house translators? Or did they hire translators for this documentary without conducting an appropriate background check? These translators must be identified and immediately fired/stricken off any interpreter register. I cannot stress enough how I have never seen anything like this in well over a decade of working in this general area. Also: I don’t speak Arabic but even I hear ‘Yehud’!"

Language is everything and translation is an art. The goal of translation is to accurately communicate the sentiments of the original speaker (or signer). Translators are ethically bound not to let one’s own feelings or bias impact this pursuit. I will repeat that this is the single worst breach of these professional ethics that I have ever personally seen. In impact this whitewashes violence against Jews to millions of viewers, and it is hard to argue that this wasn’t the deliberate intent."

And one golden evidence that could clear Israel in the International Court of Justice. What Hamas intended as a propaganda win has become an intelligence windfall for Israel. From identification of personnel to tracing equipment and corroborating claims in international legal battles, the event revealed far more than Hamas likely intended. Their media spectacle, meant to intimidate Israel,and portray an image of victory and control, may instead come back to haunt them as Israeli intelligence pieces together the puzzle they so freely provided. 🔽
THE MEDIA CIRCUS THAT REVEALED TOO MUCH
Hamas choreographed every aspect of the event, but their attempts to showcase power became a glaring display of vulnerabilities. Hundreds of Gazans with smartphones and internet and GPS connection, filmed the event from multiple angles, inadvertently capturing faces, vehicles, and locations. The Hebrew signs displayed on stage saying “Zionism Won’t Win” trace back to local businesses, offering potential leads on suppliers and organizers. Even the table used in the event and was stationed in the middle of the stage, has appeared in earlier footage linked to Hamas headquarters, providing additional confirmation of operational locations. 🔽
SUSPICIOUS “FIGHTERS” IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The masked men posing to the cameras as Hamas fighters raised eyebrows. Their movements and handling of weapons lacked the discipline typical of trained operatives. Freshly issued uniforms suggested they were hastily assembled for show rather than representing active Qassam Brigade members. Their presence raises a question: Where are the real fighters for 1.5 years? If they were active in combat, Israeli forces would likely have neutralized them during the recent Gaza operations. Considering the presence of IDF forces in the area, real Qassam Brigades fighters would be a major target, even Hamas is not that foolish to put their best fighters in the front like that. 🔽
CUTTING-EDGE FACE RECOGNITION
Israel’s Shin Bet is well-equipped to exploit such footage. Advanced AI facial recognition technology, developed by Israeli company Corsight, can identify individuals even under masks. By cross-referencing facial features - such as eyes and partial profiles with existing databases, Israeli intelligence could already be mapping key figures in Hamas’ ranks, including new recruits who are assisting them. 🔽
THE FORENSIC TRAIL
The uniforms worn by the hostages will undoubtedly undergo DNA analysis to trace their captors and the area they were kept in. Similarly, the Tavor (TAR-21) rifles seen held by Hamas in the footage are of particular interest. These weapons, originally used exclusively by IDF soldiers, may have been taken during abductions of soldiers who fought on October 7th. Tracking the rifles’ origins could lead directly to those involved in the attacks or kidnappings. Possibly also lead to the whereabouts of IDF soldiers who are still in captivity. 🔽
