MP Joanna Cherry threatens legal action over cancelled show - "SNP MP Joanna Cherry is threatening to take legal action against an Edinburgh venue which cancelled a Fringe show in which she was due to appear... The Scottish Events Campus in Glasgow was ordered to pay almost £100,000 in damages to a controversial evangelical US preacher after axing his event in 2020.  Franklin Graham's appearance at the Hydro was scrapped following pressure from Glasgow City Council, Scottish Greens co-leader Patrick Harvie and campaigners over his views on issues such as homosexuality, Islam and Donald Trump.  Venue staff had claimed the move was due to security and protest concerns but a sheriff ruled that Mr Graham had been discriminated against and that the SEC had breached the Equality Act by not letting him perform.  In his ruling, Sheriff John McCormick said: "The pursuer's right to engage a speaker at the evangelical event - in furtherance of a religious or philosophical belief - is protected by law"."

'Trans kids' prescribed MORE anti-psychotic meds after beginning gender transition than before: study - "A 2021 study of military youth has revealed that not only were minors with severe mental illness allowed to embark upon experimental medical sex changes, but also that prescriptions for anti-psychotic drugs actually increased after hormonal interventions were initiated... The study, published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, examined the Department of Defense (DoD) medical records of 3,754 trans-identified adolescents and 6,603 siblings who did not identify as transgender. The findings reveal no improvement in mental health after commencing hormone interventions and an increase in prescriptions for psychotropic medication...   Klein was also the co-author of a paper that suggested children as young as 7 were capable of consenting to medical sex changes. The paper called the cautious psychotherapeutic approach of “watchful waiting” for children who suffer from gender dysphoria “conversion therapy.”...   Criticising recent laws seeking to prohibit doctors from performing experimental sex changes on children, Klein and his team argue that children and parents are capable of consenting to these procedures...   As of 2021, 8.5 percent of American children under 18, or 1 in 12, were taking psychiatric drugs."

Teacher Sacked After Refusing to Use Eight Year-Old’s Trans Pronouns and Raising Safeguarding Concerns - "A primary schoolteacher has lost her job and is facing a raft of investigations from various regulatory bodies for questioning the advice from Stonewall and Mermaids to encourage a ‘gender transition’ of an eight year-old pupil without any medical evidence...   Based on the advice from trans rights organisations such as Mermaids and Stonewall, the council instructed all school staff always to refer to the child by male pronouns and her chosen male name and that she should use boys’ toilets, dressing rooms and dormitories as requested.  The teacher known as ‘Hannah’ (not her real name) invoked the school’s and the council’s whistleblowing procedure to argue that this approach was not based on medical evidence or compliance with the safeguarding procedures and was putting the child’s health and welfare at risk.  Supported by the Christian Legal Centre, Hannah relied on several expert reports from scientists and doctors highlighting the dangers of encouraging ‘gender transition’ in young children...   In response to Hannah’s legal action, the school summarily dismissed her for divulging confidential information to her lawyers and to the court.  The school reported Hannah to the Information Commissioner for a criminal offence under the Data Protection Act. The Information Commissioner has concluded there was no evidence of a criminal offence and decided to take no further action.  The school also reported Hannah to the professional regulator, Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA), for an alleged confidentiality breach. The TRA is currently investigating the case. If found guilty of professional misconduct, Hannah may face a lifelong ban from the profession.  Reporting Hannah to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), the school sought to bar her from teaching. The DBS, however, has declined to impose a ban pending further enquiries following an investigation.   After a life-long career as a professional teacher, Hannah has been forced to find a job in a sandwich bar.  She has now brought a claim in Employment Tribunal against the school for victimising her for whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and religious discrimination."

Teen Girl Suing CA Hospital for Removing Her Breasts When She Was 13, Says She Was Influenced Online to Believe She Was Trans - "The plaintiff, Layla Jane, 18, says that she was prescribed puberty blockers and hormones by Kaiser Foundation Hospitals before being subjected to a double mastectomy on her healthy tissue...   “This case is about a team of doctors (i.e., the Defendants) who decided to perform a damaging, imitation sex change experiment on Kayla, then a twelve-year-old vulnerable girl struggling with complex mental health co-morbidities, who needed care, attention, and psychotherapy, not cross-sex hormones and mutilating surgery,” the lawsuit begins...   “Three Kaiser doctors, including Defendant Dr. Escalante, advised Kayla and her parents that Kayla was too young for cross-sex hormones,” the complaint continues. “But Kayla and her parents eventually were referred to Defendants Dr. Watson, Dr. Taylor, and Dr. Tong, who immediately, and negligently, affirmed Kayla’s self- diagnosed transgenderism without adequate psychological evaluation. They instead promptly placed her on puberty blockers and testosterone at age 12, and performed a double mastectomy within six months at age 13. This all occurred after Dr. Watson determined in a single, 75-minute transition evaluation that Kayla was transgender.”  Jane detransitioned when she was 17 years old.  The lawsuit points to three areas where the defendants failed the patient.  First, the lawsuit explains that desistence in childhood cross gender identities is well studied and demonstrates that around 80%-90% of gender dysphoria cases involving minors resolve by adulthood, with gender identity realigning to biological sex.  Next, the lawyers allege that the doctors failed to evaluate, appreciate, treat and consider her serious co-morbid mental health symptoms before placing her on hormones, puberty blockers, and removing her breasts.  Finally, the lawsuit states that “the medical studies in this area regarding minors, particularly minor girls, are dubious at best and do not indicate improved mental health outcomes from this affirmation treatment. One of the best studies in this area is a 30-year, population-based study of adults in Sweden, which found that transgender individuals who chemically/surgically ‘transition’ have poor mental health outcomes, increased psychiatric morbidity, suicidality, and a 19-fold increased rate of suicide as compared with the general population (40-fold for biological females)...   The Center for American Liberty is also representing Chloe Cole, who has filed a similar lawsuit after having her breasts removed at 15 years old.”

Students in local schools identify as animals but no litter boxes exist - "There are students in schools across Renfrew County who identify as animals, although there are no litter boxes in schools.  “That is not a secret,” David Kaiser, vice chair of the Renfrew County District School Board, said on Monday. “It is known throughout the board we do have students who identify as animals.”...  Mr. Kaiser confirmed this as well to the Leader, although he did note he felt the issue was being sensationalized.  He did confirm there was a request for kitty litter in one school and it was denied by the board.  “This is a controversial issue,” he noted. “Our board is being transparent but the privacy of these students is very important.”  He said he did disagree with some comments which have been attributed to him about the issue of students identifying as animals.  “I have never implied that there is ‘more to this issue’,” he said. “Only that I was informed there were seven students in the county who have self-identified as animals.”  While the board is being transparent about this issue, he said to protect the privacy of these students no further information is being divulged...   Bob Schreader, chair of the Renfrew County District Catholic School Board, said the board is not aware of any student who attends Catholic schools in Renfrew County who may identify as an animal"

Rye College gender row: Full audio of furious teacher branding pupil 'despicable' - "This is the moment a Church of England schoolteacher branded a Year 8 pupil 'despicable' after they rejected a classmate's claim that she identified as a cat.  The 13-year-old pupil said she was made to stay after the class at Rye College in East Sussex on 'life education' by the teacher, who can be heard in a secret recording calling her view that gender is binary 'really despicable' and 'very sad'.  In the three-and-half-minute recording, the angry teacher is heard speaking to two girls and says they would report the children to a senior colleague, and they needed a 'proper educational conversation about equality, diversity and inclusion'... 'I just said my opinion,' the pupil replies. 'If I respect their opinion, can't they respect mine?'  The teacher goes on to say it is 'not an opinion' and 'gender is not linked to the parts that you were born with, gender is about how you identify, which is what I said right from the very beginning of the lesson'.  The teacher continues, adding that 'there are actually three biological sexes because you can be born with male and female body parts or hormones'."
School which allowed child to identify as a cat faces Government investigation - "Downing Street told headteachers that they should not be teaching children that they can identify as cats or other animals.  A source close to Mrs Keegan said: “Teachers should not be teaching contested ideology as fact. They must have due regard to safeguarding if a pupil identifies as an animal.”  It is understood that she has ordered the Department for Education’s regional director for the South East to visit Rye College and investigate whether pupils’ safety has been put at risk. Gillian Keegan, the Education Secretary, is understood to have ordered an investigation into the Church of England school... After the pupils said they believed there are only two genders, the teacher said: “Why do you think we have so many problems in the world with homophobia?”... teaching assistants at other schools are taking children who identify as horses out cantering and feeding strips of meat to those who consider themselves to be dinosaurs."

The school children now identifying as animals - "a pupil at a secondary school in the South West is insisting on being addressed as a dinosaur. At another secondary school in England, a pupil insists on identifying as a horse. Another wears a cape and wants to be acknowledged as a moon... the teacher in charge of the class appears to have bracketed a child’s desire to be treated as a cat with other children’s desire to be treated as another gender, or genderless.   The school, which does not dispute that the incident happened, said it was committed to inclusive education, but would be “reviewing our processes to ensure such events do not take place in the future”... “Teachers should be dealing with this under existing safeguarding frameworks,” she says. “If a child is coming to school identifying as a cat or a horse, that should immediately raise red flags.   “The teacher should be asking themselves, what are these children looking at online? What forums are they on? What is going on in the home? What is happening in that child’s life and who else is involved?   “The problem is that teachers have a blind spot where anything involving identity comes in, because they are frightened of doing the wrong thing. They think they are being kind by affirming these behaviours, but they are not being kind, because they are likely to be missing all sorts of things that are going on in that child’s life.”  The teachers are also letting down other pupils whose education is being disrupted by the affirming of children with abnormal behaviour.   One pupil at a state secondary school in Wales told The Telegraph of a fellow pupil who “feels very discriminated against if you do not refer to them as ‘catself’”. She added: “When they answer questions, they meow rather than answer a question in English. And the teachers are not allowed to get annoyed about this because it’s seen as discriminating.”   The student in question is in Year 11, but began using the pronoun “catself” in Year 9 “when the whole thing with neo pronouns started”, the pupil said.   She described how lessons could be completely derailed if a teacher attempted to get the child to reply to a question in English rather than meowing."...   The pupil blamed social media, saying students were being influenced by accounts run by people who identify as trees and animals. It started “around Covid”, she says... The Telegraph also spoke to a pupil at a school where one student, who identifies as “moonself”, wears a cloak to school, described by a fellow pupil as “like a Harry Potter wizard cape”.   The child in question did not identify as the Moon, but as a moon, and said they could put curses on people.   But while other pupils would be pulled up for wearing non-uniform items, such as facial piercings or dyed hair, children who identified as cats or moons would be allowed to wear cat ears or cloaks to express their “true self”, breeding resentment among other pupils.   Teachers are not helped by the fact that respected organisations to which they might turn for guidance can themselves be caught up in the confusion between cosplay and self-identity.   The Safer Schools organisation (not to be confused with the Safer Schools Alliance), which claims to be a “multi-award-winning safeguarding ecosystem” has issued guidance to parents and teachers in which it says: “The furry community itself is a complex one, made up of many different identities and definitions of what it means to be a ‘furry’.”   It also advises parents and teachers to “engage in conversation about what they think it means to be a furry and what they see as the benefits”."
