Meme - "GENDER PAY GAP
ROOKIE SEASON SALARY FOR NO. 1 DRAFT Picks
WNBA $76,500 Caitlin Clark
NBA $12.1M Victor Wembanyama
Vita Szaboles: So if I play music in a local pub, I should be paid the same as what Taylor Swift gets for one of her concerts?"

Meme - "That Face You Make... when the WNBA's "Pay Us What You Owe Us" t-shirt order hits the sweatshop floor. *unimpressed Chinese women*"

Meme - "Imagine being an employee at a company that has NEVER turned a profit and showing up to work in these shirts."
"Pay Us What You Owe Us"

Bonchie on X - "Bro made up a WNBA player and had the whole room clapping like seals in approval because they didn't realize he was making it up. The Press: "This is unfunny. Very unfunny.""
Left wingers unhappy when they're once again ignorant and the butt of the joke and so allege racism

Hoops on X - "WNBA players turned down a deal that would’ve quadrupled their pay, minimum $66K to $250K, maximum $250K to $1M. “A slap in the face.”"
They think they can blow the grift up even more and lose their employer even more money

Meme - "We're about to witness unprecedented levels of dildo launching technology, never before imagined"
"All 13 WNBA teams are now required to install safety nets to protect against dildo-throwing incidents, per league officials."
"The "Iron Dildome" defense net."

CMV: WNBA players complaining about salary, and now musing about a strike doesn't make any sense : r/changemyview - "- It's a bit hard to find data on other leagues outside the big sports to compare the WNBA to on viewership, but the closest I could find is the NLL (national lacrosse league) who has similar viewership to the WNBA (post-Caitlin Clark; Pre-Caitlin Clark it's even more obscure sports that don't even have attendance number data). The average salary for an NLL player is $19,000 per season. While the average salary for a WNBA player is $147,745 per season.
- The WNBA has never turned a profit, and requires financial support for the NBA in order to operate
- The WNBA is a gender protected league; Unlike the NBA which is an open league that does not restrict players based on gender
- This is subjective, but there are many athletes in the WNBA that frankly do not move around and look like professional basketball players. This is especially evident when CC is on the court along with them.
- "They work hard!" is a horrible argument. They're making WELL over the national median salary. You don't think basically all blue collar professions, and most white collar professions don't also work hard?
My general attitude: If I myself was in a league that was restricted, was unprofitable, and I'm making six figures to play a game, and there is another league playing the same sport that are objectively more capable at playing the sport than I am.....I would just stfu and ride this for as long as I could; Because I've got a really sweet deal and the last thing I'd want to do is draw attention to that. "Doesn't make any sense" is just kind of a general umbrella term; I'm not saying that literally. So, saying "well, it is rational and makes sense to try to make more money" will not change my view. What I'm looking for here is justification. Like, why would someone who isn't delusional feel justified in demanding more salary considering the situation they're in?
Adding an edit to maybe make it more clear what will change my view: Please explain why the WNBA players, with an average salary of $140k, are being treated unfairly. And the NBA G League, with an average salary of $40k, is being treated fairly. Why is the WNBA salary not okay, while the G League salary IS okay? The argument that basically they CAN bargain for more salary, therefore they SHOULD isn't the narrative that WNBA players are talking about. That is why it isn't changing my view; I already had that view. I'm asking for justification as to why they aren't being paid fairly already."

Meme - Brett Cooper @imbrettcooper: "Thin, fertile, and Republican? Sounds hot lol."
"Now comes the 'womanosphere': the anti- feminist media telling women to be thin, fertile and Republican"
So feminism is about being fat and infertile

Women’s March and the Selectivity of Anti-Trump Feminism - "For decades, headlines of discrimination against women in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other countries have flooded media outlets. The abhorrent news of honor killings, child rape, underage marriage, torture of female prisoners, and forced veiling, even for children, are not unknown to the world. None of these events have triggered global marches.  As a matter of fact, there have been no global marches against non-Western leaders’ misogyny: There were no marches against the Turkish president Erdogan when he said childless women are “deficient and incomplete”, nor against Iran when the chess governing body awarded the world championship to the Islamic republic, forcing non-Muslim female players to wear the veil. When American chess player Nazi Paikidze announced her decision to boycott the competition, a stream of articles published criticism about her decision and her launch of an online petition to challenge the chess federation’s action. Silence was also the response when Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, while still in power, has rejected a UN declaration calling for an end to violence against women, claiming that it will lead to the “complete disintegration of society.”   While turning a blind and cowardly eye against the systematic discrimination against Muslim women, Western activists [rightly] went wild when a region in France banned the Islamic swimsuit, the Burkini, and are now protesting against Trump... many smart suit Western-based Islamists are using Trump’s misogyny as a distraction from their own communities’ discrimination against women.  Liberal Muslim women have had to endure not just discrimination by Islamists, but also the silence on the part of some Western women’s rights advocates regarding their ordeal. When Obama was inaugurated, liberal Muslims assumed (wrongly) that he would stand by them, only to be disappointed later by his reluctance to confront Islamism and his underestimation of its dangerous impacts... Those who are marching against Trump are selective liberals. They remember liberalism when a white man like Trump is the culprit, but happily defend the illiberalism of non-white authoritarian regimes and ideologies.   My message to all social activists marching in America is simple: Feel our pain, and stand with our common values. One cannot stand against Trump’s misogyny while condoning or ignoring others’ misogyny as ‘cultural” or “religious.” Such selectivity is what led to the rise of Trump in the first place. Women’s rights are for all, not just for American and other Western women."
Weird. Left wingers usually insist that Solidarity is not conditional (which is why we have nonsense like Queers for Palestine). But really Solidarity is only for pushing the left wing agenda

Unfair to accuse men of mansplaining, says David Mitchell - "David Mitchell has said “mansplaining” is just what men call conversation.  The actor and comedian said there was an “unfairness” to the term because men also “do it to each other”.  He told The Sunday Times: “I feel there’s an unfairness to the term mansplaining, which is taken to be men explaining things in a boring way to women.  “Because they do it to each other and they take turns, and that’s what men call a conversation.”  He said men tend to have “a little mutual explain” in which they politely take turns to lecture on various topics, rather than delving into their emotional state... Asked if men enjoy mansplaining, Webb said it depends on the quality of topic, and Mitchell added that the conversation must grant both men involved a chance to explain."

Meme - A Fairie Named Mars @FairieNamedMars: "When has a man tried mansplaining to you about something you knew a lot more about than him?"
Trans-mansplaining to myself:"I was literally teaching a college class on sci-fi, had written a dissertation on SF, and some 18 y/o dude bro tried to mansplain why Dune "isn't SF AKSHULLY" in the middle of class. I ate his whole damn lunch, lol"
"So an 18 year old was discouraged from challenging orthodoxy?"
"can only challenge it was a male teacher. She could have said the Earth was flat and he would be expected to say yes ma'am."
Clearly, a male student is not allowed to have a different point of view from a female teacher, and women are infallible

Thousands of Islamists rally in Bangladesh against proposed changes to women's rights - "Thousands of supporters of an Islamist group rallied in Bangladesh’s capital on Saturday to denounce proposed recommendations for ensuring equal rights, including ones related to property, for mainly Muslim women.  Leaders of the Hefazat-e-Islam group said the proposed legal reforms are contradictory to the Sharia law. More than 20,000 followers of the group rallied near the Dhaka University, some carrying banners and placards reading “Say no to Western laws on our women, rise up Bangladesh.”"
Poor victims of colonialism, white supremacy and Christianity
Looks like Muslim women in Bangladesh may get equality before those in Singapore

Aussie women keep complaining about dating in Australia : r/thepassportbros - "I keep seeing video after video on tiktok of entitled women complaining how bad dating is in Australia. They always say the same thing - Aussie men don’t pay for them on dates, nor do they chase after them anymore or make an effort. So many women are fed up that they are actually going to places like Italy to find “traditional men” that put them on a pedestal.  I find it hilarious that Australia is so woke and feminist that it’s become a full circle and imploding on itself. Women wanted so much “equality” to the point where it’s now affecting their dating lives due to aussie men treating them as equals. It’s beautiful to watch.  Many Aussie men have also left Australia and have gone to places like SEA for better women as well.  Check out comments in this video for a good laugh. There’s many more like this as well.  Well done Aussie men!"

Judge is accused of 'gender prejudice' after city trader husband is left with just £325,000 of his heiress wife's £61.5m fortune in bitter divorce battle - "A financial trader is appealing for a greater share of his wife’s £61.5 million fortune after lawyers in their bitter divorce row claimed a woman would have been treated differently.   Simon Entwistle's 'painful' divorce from heiress Jenny Helliwell culminated with an award in his favour of just £400,000, £2.1 million less than he had originally claimed.  That sum was reduced to £325,000 after a deduction for Ms Helliwell's costs after a  divorce judge said the three-year marriage did not entitle him to maintain a lavish lifestyle once the relationship ended.  Given that his own costs were £450,000, the award left Mr Entwistle £125,000 out of pocket - a scenario that his barrister has now argued would not have materialised were their roles reversed.  Following a lavish £500,000 wedding in Paris in August 2019, Mr Entwistle 'enjoyed the trappings of being married into a family of exceptional wealth,' living in a £4.5 million villa in Dubai gifted to Ms Helliwell by her father, affluent businessman Neil Helliwell."

Meme - Man: "Why are you a feminist?"
Woman: "Because I believe in equality"
Man: "Then you should call yourself an "equalist" or "egalitarian"
Woman: "I use "feminist" because my main focus is on the unequal status of women."
Man: "So you only care about women. That's not equality - that's reverse sexism."
Woman: "I see what you're saying. Let me rephrase my answer. You. You are the reason I'm a feminist."
Carolina Hernandez: "When they figure out there's misandry"
The incoherence and inability of feminism to stand up to scrutiny is apparent

Lincoln gentleman's club rules criticised as 'sexist' - "A gentleman's club which voted to continue to prohibit women from becoming members has been called "sexist" by a feminist group.  Women can enter the Castle Hill Club in Lincoln only as guests of men who are members.  Paul Watson, secretary at the club, which opened in 1922, said the rule "had always been the same" and "for the rights or wrongs of it, they wanted to leave it that way".  Ellie Henshaw, 19, from the University of Lincoln's Feminist Society, said the decision was "frustrating" and "it's not the default anymore that women should be excluded"."
Good luck if you insist that men be allowed into women's-only spaces

Lincoln gentleman's club rules criticised as 'sexist' - BBC News : r/unitedkingdom - "I was working at a cinema when sex in the city came out. Multiple hen parties and just general 'girls nights' clearing out the sovblonc's and chardonnay's. I think well over half of the male members of staff were inappropriately touched at some point, most of us were still teenagers. It was a real eye opening experience."
"Wow, just trying to imagine how much it would have dominated the headlines if you had groups of stag dos doing that for a film like “showgirl” (showing my age a bit with that reference!).  I know friends who have been groped by groups of drunken cackling old women when on a night out. The thirst when they see a set of huge trap muscles is unreal."
Time to screen Adolescence again to lecture men about "toxic masculinity"

Lincoln gentleman's club rules criticised as 'sexist' - BBC News : r/unitedkingdom - "It’s already no longer safe when the groups of straight women show up.  Hen parties, girls nights out, and the like are absolutely rampant with sexual harassment and sexual assault towards us gay and bi men."
"I'm a straight man and I'd not frequented any gay clubs and even I have heard tale of hen parties sexual assaulting gay men in clubs.  We could put posters in the women's toilets remarking how just because they're gay, doesn't mean you can touch them everywhere"
"There would be some layered social expectations that gay men aren't a threat to the drunk women as much as a straight man is. Therefore the gay man goes from being a threat to being a pet."
"Non threatening target. They're being creeps who want to molest men, they don't actually want a sexual response from those men. If they walked up to a straight man and grabbed him by the balls, there's a 50/50 chance he'll be "alright then love" and try to get off with her."

A male-only publisher to fight toxic masculinity? I have a better idea - "people start to hold a subconscious belief that men’s alienation is a direct result of women’s success. The reality is more complex, or perhaps more simple: the work of platforming and creating equal opportunities for women, and ensuring men are fulfilled and confident enough not to become incels, is the same... The fact is that the publishing industry is not suffering from intrinsic bias against men. The market is currently dominated by fiction written by women, yes, but this is because of a simple matter of supply and demand, which is not the same as inherent, systemic disadvantage... 80 per cent of novels are bought by women; reading fiction is always something women have done more than men (a pastime that has, as a result, historically been written off as sentimental and pointless). Yet it is only now that the number of respected female authors is proportionately increasing: it was after the 1991 Booker shortlist contained no female writers that the Women’s Prize for Fiction was founded, giving a platform for the authors who were going unrecognised by an industry whose executives were primarily male. Now, it is true that there is a lack of new male talent (James Marriott, writing in The Times in 2020 in an article that set off a protracted online debate on the topic, pointed out that there had not been a white British man under 40 on the Booker shortlist since 2011 – quite a strict set of criteria, but the point stands). But it’s not true that it is because the industry strategically favours women... I have another idea: young men could always take a punt and read one of the many books available that has been written by a woman."
The solution to discrimination against men is to promote women even more
I like how discrimination against men is somehow the fault of "toxic masculinity"
The lived experience of people who testify about discrimination against men does not matter, because it threatens the left wing agenda, and supply and demand are only innocent when they benefit "minorities"
Weird how women have always read more fiction than men but suddenly supply and demand is the reason why male authors are disappearing
"Representation" is very important - unless it's about men

Misandry is a misogynistic myth

Canadian men, children held in Syria pursue human rights complaints against Ottawa - "Canada has repatriated women and children from northeastern Syria under federal policy, but not any men, even though their conditions are more dire than those of the repatriated women and children. "The blanket ban on repatriating adult males perpetuates the stereotype that men are more dangerous than women and children," the complaint says."
Male privilege strikes again

Feminist professor loses job after Islamist group demands her removal - "A college professor in Bangladesh says the authorities have yielded to the demands of Islamist groups and removed her from her post for being vocal about women's property rights. Nadira Yeasmin, an assistant professor of Bangla language at Narsingdi Government College, was transferred about 270km away to another college near the border with India after a 48-hour ultimatum was issued by Hefazat-e-Islam... Ms Yeasmin, a vocal women's rights activist, was removed from her post after Hefazat-e-Islam protested against the professor’s articles in a local magazine titled 'Hisya' (rights). The Islamist outfit claimed that articles published in the magazine calling for equal inheritance rights for men and women – a longstanding demand in Bangladesh – were contradictory to Islamic inheritance laws... The professor said Bangladesh's education department could have transferred her to any college in Dhaka or other districts, but they moved her to Satkhira – an area of strong support for the right-wing outfit Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami."
The left's much vaunted "solidarity" is highly contingent

How do I (M28) tell my African girlfriend (F29) she doesn't have to do stuff for me? : r/relationship_advice - "I am an American and I moved 1 year ago to a country in Southern Africa called Zambia for work. I met this beautiful girl at a food market and immediately hit it off with her, we have been dating for 6 months now.  I consider myself a feminist and I am a firm believer in women's rights. From dating American women to having an African girlfriend, i have noticed a huge difference. I like how she treats me but I feel guilty and feel like one of those monsters that have a hand in oppressing women.  Firstly, she's educated, she's a lawyer but also an amazing cook. We don't live together but we spend a lot of time at eachother's houses, I work longer hours than her so she is usually home earlier than me.  Now, I noticed things like whenever she comes to my house while I am at work, she'll do my laundry, clean my shoes, clean my apartment and cook food for me despite her coming home from work tired. If she will not be available for an entire week, she will cook a week's worth of food for me and freeze it. She makes me little snacks and gives me massages. I can't cook, the food here is amazing so I don't mind ordering food every day, I told her this but she said she would rather cook for me.  I don't want to seem like the arrogant American or like I am ungrateful but i see women as my equal. Women here can work and be CEOs of big companies without any trouble but the traditional household is still a thing. CEOs will go home and do "wife duties" which I think is outdated and unfair. I appreciate everything she does for me, I enjoy her food a lot but my conscience is killing me. How do I tell her to stop?"
Feminism means women can't take care of men

Marie Stopes: history erases ugly facts to create a mythical feminist hero - "For some, the name Marie Stopes speaks of one of the biggest abortion providers in the world. For others, it speaks of a person, a feminist icon and pioneer for birth control and family planning... Marie Stopes is widely lauded today as a feminist hero and women’s rights campaigner... both the MSI website, the BBC historical figures page dedicated to Stopes, and many other biographies leave a great deal of interesting information out. In particular, her openly racist and eugenic beliefs and practices have been largely overlooked and ignored or, at best, framed as an embarrassing footnote to her achievements... She did not just write, but actively lobbied the Prime Minister and Parliament to pass Acts to enforce compulsory sterilisation in order to: ‘…ensure the sterility of the hopelessly rotten and racially diseased…by the elimination of wasteful lives.’... In 1934 she publicly stated that ‘the half-caste’ should be sterilised at birth. In 1956, two years before she died, Marie Stopes asserted that one-third of British men should be forcibly sterilised, ‘starting with the ugly and unfit’.
Stopes cut her own son out of her will simply because he married a girl who wore glasses. Instead, the bulk of her estate went to the Eugenics Society.
Stopes was a Nazi supporter. In 1935, she attended a Nazi Congress for Population Science in Berlin. Four years later she sent Hitlera gushing personal letter along with a volume of her love poems: ‘Dear Herr Hitler, love is the greatest thing in the world: so will you accept from me these that you may allow the young people of your nation to have them?‘ A poem of hers from 1942, at the height of the Jewish Holocaust, has this to say: ‘Catholics and Prussians, The Jews and the Russians, All are a curse, Or something worse…’ The irony of people today praising Stopes is captured by Anthony Ozimic of SPUC: ‘Praising Marie Stopes as a woman of distinction should be as unacceptable as praising Adolf Hitler as a great leader. Both promoted compulsory sterilisation and the elimination of society’s most vulnerable members to achieve what they called racial progress.’
The BBC website states that the Catholic Church was Stope’s fiercest critic. They fail to clarify it was actually the Catholic Church that most opposed her appalling eugenic beliefs. In the 1920s, a legal victory against the rising eugenic tide was won by Dr Sutherland, with the support of the Catholic church, over Marie Stopes. Sutherland actually opposed eugenics long before he became a Catholic. Yet Stopes is lauded today as a feminist hero, while the story of the eugenics libel trial, and the Catholic role in trying to stop eugenics, has been either overlooked or dismissed as simplistic Catholic opposition to contraception. Moreover, Dr Sutherland and others were actively trying to prevent and cure tuberculosis, (the disease of poverty) while at the same time influential eugenicists decried their efforts as a waste of time. Eugenicists considered tuberculosis was a ‘friend of the race’ because it was a natural check on the ‘unfit’ and poor, killing them before they could reproduce. How ironic that Stopes, who describes poor children as ‘puny-faced, gaunt, blotchy, ill-balanced, feeble, ungainly, withered’ is the one now feted as a feminist heroine, and Sutherland who tried to treat and heal them is forgotten.
The deliberate excision of Stopes’ eugenic legacy has made her a secular saint. The abortion industry in particular, and liberalism in general, have effectively erased Stopes’ racism and hatred of the poor (such inconvenient historical facts) from their collective memory. Yet the truth is, Marie Stopes was not motivated by a kind of early feminism but rather ‘by the urge to reduce the numbers of the ‘burgeoning lumpenproletariat.’"

Would you live in an all-female city? : r/AskFeminists - "I was thinking the other day, due to advances in biology; specifically gender selection (IVF) and turning stem cells into sperm cells, it is possible to create an all-female society. And have that society sustain itself even without immigration.  Let's say tomorrow, a new city-state is formed. In this city, only women and girls are generally allowed. This includes trans women. Anybody that identifies as a male is not allowed in outside of exceptional circumstances. non-binary individuals and intersex are allowed in on a case-by-case basis. Any sons born in the city must be educated at private schools/homeschools and they are evicted from the city on their 18th Birthday.  The purpose is to increase a very large safe-space for women. Nearly every feminist issue is due to male domination on the educational, domestic, occupational, criminal, and political level. A city without men wouldn't be perfect, but on the surface, it would seem to solve every gender conflict. Any woman is free to move to such a city and spend their entire adult life there, free from the patriarchy. The same could be said of girls born there.  Would you want to live in such a city?"
Weird. I thought sex and gender were different and only ignorant people didn't know that
