Andrew Branca Show on X - "The video does not show an “unarmed Good Samaritan.” It shows a chaotic physical struggle where a man later found to be armed intervenes, is pepper-sprayed, goes to the ground, and is then actively wrestled as ICE agents move in to regain control. As the suspect stands up during the struggle, agents reasonably perceive a firearm coming into play—and the first shot is fired. Under settled self-defense law, officers are not required to wait until a gun is fully raised or fired. Imminence includes the moment a weapon is accessed during resistance. Freeze-frame activists keep asking “can you see the gun?” That’s the wrong legal question. The standard is reasonable perception in real time, including shouted warnings, movement, and the dynamics of a fight. This was a rapidly evolving use-of-force encounter, not an execution. The law does not require officers to gamble with their lives."
Left wingers claim Kyle Rittenhouse went to a protest armed because he was hunting and wanted to kill people. But that was before they pretended to care about the Second Amendment
Andrew Branca Show on X - "The firearm matters—and the media is hiding it. At the Minneapolis Border Patrol shooting, the suspect was armed with a SIG Sauer P320 AXG Combat, a high-capacity 9mm pistol with a threaded barrel, extended 20–21 round magazine, and a SIG Romeo optic—a setup costing $1,500–$2,000. This was not a cheap carry gun. Officers were in a physical struggle with an armed suspect when a gun was perceived and the word “gun” was shouted. Under settled self-defense law, officers are entitled to rely on fellow officers’ reasonable perceptions. They do not have to personally confirm the threat. Once a firearm appears during active resistance, the legal standard is simple: reasonable perception of imminent deadly force. That standard was met here. Freeze-frame activism doesn’t override real-time dynamics, and the law does not require officers to wait to be shot. This was a tragic—but lawful—use of force."
He literally wrote a book on self-defense, but since this hurts the left wing agenda, left wingers don't care. Trust the experts - when they push the left wing agenda
Andrew Branca Show on X - "The moment Alex Pretti made physical contact with the first CBP officer he committed a forcible federal felony good for 8 years in a federal penitentiary, under 18 USC §111. From that point on CBP was making the arrest of a violent felony suspect, armed with a gun, forcibly, non-compliant with lawful arrest, shouts of GUN!, a gunshot is heard, and Pretti brought his right hand from his waistband into view gripping a black object while being held at gunpoint by officers. That will get you lawfully shot 999 times out of 1,000."
Officials are convinced Alex Pretti ‘brandished’ a gun, but have offered no evidence - "At least one agent can be heard shouting “he’s got a gun” when the unidentified officer reaches into Pretti’s waistband as the pile of officers try to subdue him. Just over one second after the officer emerges holding the weapon, a shot rings out, followed by at least 9 more"
Liz Wheeler on X - "Alex Pretti impeded traffic. Alex Pretti ignored law enforcement commands to back up, and shortly thereafter put his hands on law enforcement, reinitiating physical contact. Alex Pretti violently resisted arrest. Alex Pretti was NOT lawfully carrying a firearm because he did not have ID on him. Alex Pretti reached for his holster during his violent resistance, signaling to law enforcement he was a threat to their lives. Those are the facts. Don’t fall for fake news."
Wilfred Reilly on X - "I mean, the "mom" - who had apparently lost custody of 2/3 of her kids due to neglect or abuse - got shot because she was illegally impeding an active arrest, tried to flee the scene, and drove her SUV at a federal agent as part of that. The agent briefly went to the hospital with internal bleeding. The "nurse" got shot because he was "directing traffic" around an active ICE situation, moved over to illegally interfere with it, and grabbed and scuffled with agents - all while armed and with two spare magazines on him. Both of these people were apparently part of a large, illicit underground network that is apparently doing things like illegally recording license plates and addresses and connected with ICE - and flat out dispatching raiders to screw with government arrests. You can view these two shoots as good or not, but the state is not killing people for being "too good, too noble." These were VERY predictable, avoidable situations of violence."
Eric Daugherty on X - "🚨 BREAKING: Commander Greg Bovino FIRES BACK at CNN’s lies “He was in the scene actively impeding and assaulting law enforcement!”
BASH: But he wasn't impeding! He was filming, which is a legal thing to do in the United States! https://t.co/MIWhTDG0Xi
BOVINO: Dana, let's not free frame adjudicate this. He was IMPEDING an arrest of a criminal illegal!"
Julie Kelly 🇺🇸 on X - "Pretti is on video directing SUVs to form a barricade on the street, which is what prompted the first confrontation with officers. Which means he was actively impeding/obstructing federal officers, a felony under 18 USC 111 Also a crime to conspire to obstruct/impede federal officers; Pretti was working with at least one other individual at the time. And he was committing that felony while in possession of a firearm. Pretti also by his actions was attempting to aid a criminal illegal evade law enforcement. He then assaulted a woman after being hit by pepper spray—presumably disoriented from the spray. And he had a loaded gun in his waistband. His parents had cautioned him not to get aggressively involved in anti ICE protests. But this was not a protest—it was a crime."
Minneapolis unrest: Anti-ICE protesters target hotel in wake of Alex Pretti shooting - "Protesters in Minneapolis appeared to storm a hotel on Sunday, where they suspected federal agents had been staying after the second fatal shooting in the city amid an immigration crackdown... Videos showed demonstrators outside the Home Suites by Hilton Hotel banging on trash cans and bells with windows bashed in and spray-painted with the words "ICE OUT OF MPLS.""
Time for more gaslighting about "mostly peaceful protests". Clearly Trump is responsible for the violence because left wing agitators don't have agency
Gator Gar on X - "Destroying a hotel because you don’t like who’s staying there. It’s like burning down a restaurant because you don’t like who’s eating there. This is what the mob does. This is how criminals behave."
Libs of TikTok on X - "Minnesota Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan instructed leftists to “put your bodies on the line” to protest Trump and ICE. Now multiple people are dead for violently obstructing and interfering with ICE. Democrats did this."
Dana Loesch on X - "Yes, you absolutely can carry at a protest. Anyone who tells you otherwise is an anti-2A statist. No, you absolutely cannot interrupt a federal op while armed and tussle with LEO. That's how tragic things happen. This isn't rocket science."
Left wingers keep insisting that the right is hypocritical for supposedly being against the Second Amendment now, when as usual they have poor comprehension skills. Once again left wingers come up with elaborate strawmen, then accuse others of hypocrisy for not adhering to these strawmen
Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD - "So very angry right now. I saw an agent walk away with a gun and afterwards, they shot and killed 37 year old VA ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti in cold blood. I have seen many videos, from many angles from many observers and not once did I see Alex behave violently or have a gun in his hands. Noem needs to be impeached and she along with all agents involved in this homicide need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. ICE must be dismantled before these shootings escalate."
Typical left wing logic. Resisting arrest and struggling with law enforcement aren't violent if they push the left wing agenda
A Gene Robinson on X - "🚨BREAKING… Minneapolis this morning. A man identified as Alex Jeffrey Pretti was shot and killed during a federal immigration enforcement operation. Within hours, the media and political class rushed out a pre-packaged narrative portraying him as a heroic defender of “peaceful protesters.” That framing is false by omission. What is being deliberately ignored is motive and consequence. Pretti chose to physically intervene on behalf of illegal immigrants during a federal operation. He placed himself between federal agents and enforcement of U.S. law. He was not protecting Black Americans. He was not defending vulnerable citizens. He was defending people who are here illegally… people who directly compete with and displace the Black working class in housing, labor, healthcare, and public resources. That is not solidarity. That is substitution. While Black neighborhoods suffer from collapsing services, fentanyl saturation, violent crime, and economic neglect, activists like this man chose to shield illegal immigrants instead of standing with the Black community that is being hollowed out in real time. This is the quiet racism no one wants to name. Choosing illegals over citizens. Choosing optics over outcomes. Choosing ideology over reality. The attempt to sanctify this incident with emotional language about “rupture” and “moral moments” is political theater. It is designed to confuse the public, delegitimize law enforcement, and redirect anger away from the policies that caused this chaos. Federal agents were executing the law. Interference carries consequences. Turning that into martyrdom does not change the facts. Black Americans are not obligated to sacrifice their future so activists can feel morally superior. Calling this “humanity” while Black communities are displaced is a lie. This was not justice. This was not heroism. This was the result of ideology colliding with reality. *Denote the smile. #SilentMajoritySpeaks #AStoneGroove"

The Spock-Bones Window - "It may be too early to say definitively, but appearances suggest the Democrats have won the Battle of Minneapolis—once again proving they are masters at creating problems of massive scale and then successfully blaming Republicans for trying to fix them. I’ve spent years trying to understand how this is even possible, and the best explanation I can offer is that there exists a continuum of reasoning stretching from extreme deliberative, analytical thought—pure Star Trek Vulcan stoic rationality—on one end, to something approaching batshit insane, impulsive, unreflective psychotic obscurantism on the other: the deliberate suppression of facts and clarity. For lack of a better description (and since I thought it up, I get to name it), I call this the Spock–Bones Window... Star Trek’s internal logic was built on the Hegelian dialectic: thesis, antithesis, synthesis. Spock represented the thesis, Bones the antithesis, and Captain Kirk the synthesis—the integration of logic and emotion into decisive leadership. But the Spock–Bones Window is moved through escalating emotional intensity, short-circuiting that process entirely. When emotion dominates, synthesis never occurs, and solutions become structurally impossible. That, in essence, is the sad miracle of Minneapolis. Democrats have successfully used this mechanism to implant a narrative—even in some mush-brained Republicans—that they suddenly oppose open borders after four years of supporting them and now believe in immigration enforcement despite having spent years undermining it. The “real” problem is no longer the problem itself; it is how they feel about the solution. They claim they don’t like how aggressive Trump’s ICE has been, while carefully ignoring the threats, doxxing, protests, hotel ransacking, and systematic obstruction of a constitutionally and congressionally mandated mission—including organized efforts to shelter illegal aliens and help them evade law enforcement, with direct participation from Minnesota state and Minneapolis local officials. I do not think ICE ever planned for enforcement to unfold this way. They adjusted their tactics to match the resistance they encountered. To carry out their mission at all, they were forced to be as aggressive in countering obstruction as the obstruction was in countering them. The underlying logic is simple: a Democrat administration refused to enforce the border, then actively facilitated illegal immigration while failing to vet entrants. Blue states and cities welcomed illegal aliens as “undocumented migrants,” “Maryland dads,” and “neighbors,” in open violation of federal law. A new administration was elected, closed the border, and began lawful removals—criminal aliens first. Those same blue jurisdictions then refused to cooperate. There is nothing difficult to understand here—unless emotion replaces reason. Democrats have framed Minneapolis as if ICE were the sole aggressor, minimizing or erasing the actions of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, William Kelly, and others. Sustaining this denial of reality requires propaganda and agitprop, thereby manufacturing a wave of temporary insanity. In Star Trek terms, Minnesota Democrats have created a Minnesota version of the Kobayashi Maru (Kobayashi Minnesota?) exercise: a no-win scenario designed to trap federal enforcement in an impossible public-relations dilemma. My hope is that substituting Homan for Bovino produces enforcement that remains firm and appropriately aggressive but becomes less headline-grabbing and more heads-down work on removals. I do suspect this change, and the fact Homan reports directly to President Trump, marks the beginning of the end of Noem’s cabinet tenure. What cannot be ignored is that Walz, Ellison, Frey and other Minnesota state and local officials did move the Spock–Bones Window, and that movement cost two lives, injured many more on both sides, and if allowed to stand threatens the stability of the Republic itself."
Thread by @CBHeresy on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "The Left are the architects of the tragedies they exploit. It’s anti-democratic and emotionally manipulative, and we’re all f*cking tired of it. You can argue that the ICE agents fumbled the situation- and that’s fair- but ultimately what happened to Pretti is a direct result of the chaos they orchestrated. They don’t fight ICE legislatively because they know they won’t win. So, instead, they create chaos in the streets and wait until a government agent eventually kills someone, and then they make that individual a martyr to rally more support or force the government to stop.
We have heard endlessly about the 1/6 “insurrection” and watched as everyone that attended had their lives destroyed. That was one day. These protests and riots have gone on for months since Trump entered office, yet there will be no real accountability.
The only way this ends- the way it must end- is for the rebellion to be quelled. Otherwise they will never stop. If the government retreats from this, the lesson will be that the Law can always be subverted through angry mobs. And once that happens, the Republic is dead."
It's the Hamas strategy.
Vicki McKenna | Facebook - "It's (qualified) good news that Walz has finally allowed the MN state patrol to assist feds in making arrests, shutting down the occupation. And look how quickly it works (see video at comments). But why now? It wasn't the death of Alex Pretti. It was the BOMBSHELL stories coming out this weekend from independent journalist Cam Higby, who infiltrated the Signal chat and exposed the players. And he was doing this KNOWING there was a target on his back. The insurgents knew he was there. They knew what his license plate was. What they didn't know was that he infiltrated their comms. The best investigative work on the on-going insurgency in the US (Minnesota and beyond) is NOT being done by the FBI or DOJ. It's being done by citizen journalists risking their lives to get the information. Cam Higby. Data Republican. James O'Keefe. Nick Shirley. Nick Sortor. Andy Ngo. More. Our vaunted FBI--which somehow managed to find every senior citizen in a MAGA hat who attended the J6 protests somehow can't seem to figure out who is running the insurrection show without courageous citizens putting their lives at risk to get the information. Why this agency won't step up, I do not know. But we would know NONE of this but for brave Americans putting their lives on the line to tell the story."
Gerard M Nadal | Facebook - "When you watch the videos, close your eyes and just use your ears. Listen to the whistles. Lots, and lots, and lots of whistles. And car horns. Now open your eyes and see the insurgents surrounding the agents and blowing their whistles almost directly in their ears. But there is a question. Why? Why are the whistles a part of the insurgent playbook? The answer is simple. They know that the whistles create an atmosphere of chaos and confusion, that they interrupt communications and the coordination of efforts by the agents. They aren't merely a tool to call people to where the agents are. The woman shoved on her ass in the Pretti video? I posted a video that showed the long run-up to that moment. That woman and a partner getting within three feet of an agent and blowing their whistles. In Pretti's case, they worked according to plan. A central question arising is why, once an agent grabbed Pretti's gun, did the others not know he was disarmed? I'll venture an educated guess from all the video to be seen thus far. One can hear agents saying "Gun!" One can also hear the loud, shrill whistles right next to the scrum, and the blaring of car horns. The disarming and the first shot were less than a second apart, and then it was all over. So I suspect that a determinative factor in all of this will be the insurgents' car horns and whistles impeding the clarity of communication in the midst of a violent struggle that Pretti precipitated and made deadly as he reached in the direction of his holster. They wanted to impede communication, and it appears that they succeeded. So why pity them? Where is such a well-orchestrated insurgency to impede the warrant squads in Minneapolis that arrest American citizens for violent crimes? I've gotten quite a bit of pushback from Catholics questioning my faith and spirituality in the midst of this. So let me save people from further inquiry. Many of the criminal illegals being sought are involved with cartels sex-trafficking girls and women. I spent seven years working with teen girls running away from prostitution at Covenant House in Times Square during the 1980's. I've buried three Boy Scouts who died from the poison these bastards are importing and distributing. The criminals being sought by ICE are vermin. Rapists, murderers, traffickers, pushers. How could anyone in their right mind oppose the arrest and deportation of these people? Yeah, I hope they find Jesus in prison, but I elected Trump to see to the arrest and deportation part. There are plenty of prison chaplains around the world to do the rest. If you've never sat with a kid hollowed out by prostitution, tried to help a kid get clean and stay clean, perhaps a family member or friend's kid, then I don't suppose you can fully understand how deeply many like me feel about this, and the disgust felt at an insurgency that is well-organized, highly trained, and well-funded. When you give your life attempting to shield sex-traffickers and pushers from justice, that's about as bad as it gets. And the old chestnut about false arrest and imprisonment... that happens every single day in the course of ordinary police work in every city. The system generally does a good job at sussing it all out, with rare cases of miscarriage of justice. There are attorneys and courts, and when law-enforcement oversteps, the courts do a mighty good job of correcting the abuse. But the answer to a one in ten thousand false arrest is not to paralyze the entire system, not to make the perfect the enemy of the good. That was Pretti's mistake, and his fellow travelers created the disruption they were trained to create, and that disruption, in a split second, may very well have cost him his life."
Barclay Mullins | Facebook - "New Video Shatters the Radical Narrative Surrounding the Alex Pretti Incident. A critical piece of evidence has emerged that directly contradicts the "execution" narrative being pushed by far-left activists. This new footage reveals the raw, chaotic reality of the encounter and provides a chilling look at the split-second decisions made by federal officers. Contrary to claims that a physician was denied access to help, the video shows federal officers themselves immediately attempting to render medical aid and clear the scene. In the seconds following the shots, officers were frantically searching for the gun they believed was in Pretti's hand or on his person—a clear sign that they were operating under the belief that a lethal threat was still present. We now know that during the struggle, an officer managed to grab a firearm, which reportedly misfired. Crucially, this officer did not announce the weapon had been cleared, meaning the other agents on the scene still believed they were facing an armed threat. The footage shows Pretti resisting officers—a decision that turned out to be fatal. As many observers have noted, your fight is not on the street with officers; it is in the courtrooms. Pretti made it to his knees and was reaching around his waistband. From the perspective of the officers, who had already shouted “GUN,” this was interpreted as a direct and immediate threat to their lives. The officers engaged just one second after the misfire, reacting to the "GUN" announcement in a high-pressure environment where every millisecond counts. This tragedy was fueled by the violent, far-left rhetoric that has been used to radicalize individuals against federal law enforcement. Critics are pointing the finger at the Walz Administration, Mayor Jacob Frey, and local leaders who have urged citizens to "resist" ICE, track their movements, and interfere with federal investigations. When politicians egg on resistance and civil disobedience, they create the very volatility that leads to these tragic outcomes. The "Alex Pretti" case is not a story of cold-blooded execution; it is a story of what happens when political leaders encourage citizens to fight federal agents. The blood is on the hands of those who replaced the rule of law with the rule of the mob."
