AITA for telling my enby friend their pronouns aren't real? : r/AmItheAsshole - "My friend identifies as non-binary and that's super awesome. They go by (or used to go by) they/them pronouns. Today they told me that they're going to start "nounself" pronouns. I was really confused so I googled it and found a tumblr blog about them. Apparently it's using an object as your pronouns. They said that they wanted to start going by "egg/eggs/eggself" pronouns. Look, I don't even mind using ze/zir pronouns or whatever, but I draw the line at using the word egg as a pronoun. I told them that they shouldn't do that and just go by they/them because that seems the most simple. They responded by saying that I was being really hurtful and that pronouns are the most important thing to trans people and that me saying that really upset them. I basically just said "look, I'll address you by your name if you don't want to go by they/them anymore, but i'm not calling you an egg ffs". They left me on read and I'm just wondering if I really need to apologize for it. Personally I just think they're overreacting and will get over it soon, but I don't know? Am I the asshole?"

Convict who mused about being trans killed woman: cops - "A 24-year-old conflicted about his gender identity viciously murdered a young woman after he flew into a jealous rage because of her beauty, cops said.  Zion Teasley, who wrote about his belief he was transgender in his diary in the days leading up to the slaying, stabbed 29-year-old Lauren Heike 15 times as she hiked on an Arizona trail in April 2023, according to police... Investigators also said they found a photo of Teasley wearing an outfit similar to the one Heike was wearing when she was killed."

Would you live in an all-female city?
I was thinking the other day, due to advances in biology; specifically gender selection (IVF) and turning stem cells into sperm cells, it is possible to create an all-female society. And have that society sustain itself even without immigration.  Let's say tomorrow, a new city-state is formed. In this city, only women and girls are generally allowed. This includes trans women. Anybody that identifies as a male is not allowed in outside of exceptional circumstances. non-binary individuals and intersex are allowed in on a case-by-case basis. Any sons born in the city must be educated at private schools/homeschools and they are evicted from the city on their 18th Birthday.  The purpose is to increase a very large safe-space for women. Nearly every feminist issue is due to male domination on the educational, domestic, occupational, criminal, and political level. A city without men wouldn't be perfect, but on the surface, it would seem to solve every gender conflict. Any woman is free to move to such a city and spend their entire adult life there, free from the patriarchy. The same could be said of girls born there.  Would you want to live in such a city?"
Weird. I thought sex and gender were different, and only ignorant people didn't know that

Meme - Sall Grover @salltweets: "This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever read next to “sex is changeable”."
Dr Helen Webberley (she/her): "I have something simple to explain. Trans women were not born male, they were born female but it was assumed that they were going to be male. It was a simple mistake, and one that is easily rectified."

Gays Against Groomers on X - "We would like to take a moment to reflect on all of the progress we have made in this nation to end the largest medical abuse scandal our country has ever seen. As of this month, 35 gender clinics have closed permnantly and 28 have suspended interventions on minors. While 34 still remain open, this marks a significant decline from the 93 known clinics operating in 2021.  The following report from the American College of Pediatricians (@ACPeds ) is a testament to the tireless legal, political, and cultural efforts of individuals and organizations committed to protecting children from harmful transgender ideology.   The fight isn't over yet, but it is undeniable we are winning!"
Wesley Yang on X - "The sudden normalization and propagation of a bizarre pseudo-medical cult practice that leaves those subjected to it sterilized, anorgasmic and chained to a medical leash for life, once confined to the outermost fringe of human extremity but now proselytized in your child's elementary school classroom, was an outbreak of mania unparalleled in modern history"

SkankyGelato on X - "It’s been really wild watching all the people who describe puberty as so traumatic for some kids that they need to be medicated out of it say, without taking a beat, that a 14 year old girl should not be embaressed buying a bra."

Jonathan Kay on X - "A volunteer for Canadian Blood Services @CanadasLifeline sent me the mandatory “Sex Positivity”/genderwang training he had to do. I learned that there is a "trans umbrella," & that there are *four* sexes: 1) male, 2) female, 3) intersex, 4) literally anything you can think of"

Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️ on X - "The libs laugh at Kirk for saying there’s a correlation between testosterone and masculinity, and in the next breath, argue that pumping young girls full of testosterone can magically transition them into men."

J.K. Rowling on X - "Attention all men telling me I look like a trans woman: I’m sensing that this isn’t meant as a compliment. In fact, the implication seems to be that trans women look male, or odd, or ugly. This is appallingly transphobic and I’ll thank you to take your bigotry off my timeline."

Meme - J.K. Rowling @jk_rowling: "This is what happens when you erase the word ‘woman’ from your reporting: you disseminate inaccuracies and falsehoods. If you prioritise an ideology over giving clear and accurate information, you aren’t journalists, you’re propagandists."

Two Male Drag Queens on CBC Petition : r/CanadianConservative - "I don’t fucking understand what feels like the sudden obsession with drag queens. Even if you say they’re just funny entertainers dressed up in makeup and loud outfits who put on shows…you’re describing a clown? Why is there such ardent support for them?"
"Because literally everyone knows they're perverse and offensive to normal people.  Forcing them into the limelight and making everyone pretend otherwise is part of the humiliation ritual to which we're all subjected."
"I think its mostly manufactured support"

Leor Sapir on X - "New editorial by gender docs in JAMA Pediatrics argues that the cisgender/transgender binary doesn’t capture cisgender boys who feel a bit like girls and cisgender girls who feel a bit like boys. These, apparently, need to be studied and made more visible to the medical field."
Colin Wright on X - "This paper is so absurd I don't even know where to begin. It's all ideological fantasy. All of it.  For something like this to get published, every step in the process must be captured. The authors, the journal editors, the peer reviewers. Everyone. True Believers.  At no point did a skeptical eye touch this paper.  That's a serious problem not easily remedied."

Trans officer’s alleged rape victim so young she liked teddies, court told - "A transgender volunteer police officer allegedly told his victim he wanted to rape her despite her being “so young” she was still interested teddy bears, a court has heard.  Amersham Law Courts heard that James Bubb, who now identifies as a woman named Gwyn Samuels but will be referred to by his biological sex throughout the trial, was violent towards the complainant when taking her virginity while in her early teens.  In a police interview played to the court on Tuesday, the alleged victim told officers that at the age of 12, the defendant, who was 21, looked “paranoid” when the pair were out in public together.  The complainant met Bubb on Omegle, a video-chat site for strangers, in 2018. She spoke of how she was “frozen” when the now-27-year-old defendant attempted to engage in sexual activity in public shortly before her 13th birthday.  She reportedly told the defendant she was five years older than she actually was when they first met, but insisted he knew she was underage... She spoke of how the pair met up away from other festival-goers and said her colour-coded child wristband was clearly on show... “He made remarks in person about when it was dark… about coming into my tent and having sex with me.  “I was actually so young at that point that I had a teddy bear in my tent. He knew at the time that I was very much interested in things like teddies.”... The complainant went on to speak about how when the pair started having sex, Bubb was violent.  She said: “He had his hands around my throat. I tried to get words out but they weren’t coming out as easily.”  She told the officer that sometimes the defendant was “hitting me during sex… sometimes he would punch me”.  “He would also make remarks about raping me,” she added. “He told me I enjoyed being raped and when I said no, he didn’t stop and that’s when he made these specific remarks.”"

Sailor attacks musical about her life after actors hijack ending with trans protest - "A British female sailor has criticised a musical based on her life story after the cast members used their platform to stage a pro-trans fundraiser.  Tracy Edwards made history in 1989 when she captained the Maiden, leading the first all-female yacht crew in the Whitbread Round the World Race.  But she has criticised the musical based on the race, called Maiden Voyage, after cast members used a curtain call to fundraise for a charity that supports transgender inclusion in women’s sports on the night she attended.  Ms Edwards has been public with her opposition to the inclusion of transgender women – biological males – in women’s competitions and changing rooms.  They allegedly chose the night Ms Edwards was in the audience for the show, running at the Southwark Playhouse, to make a public plea for funds... “The irony of spending 90 minutes singing and dancing in celebration of women fighting for their rights in sport, only to trample all over those rights at the end, is off the scale.”  Ms Edwards is concerned that, because it took place after a show about her life, her name has effectively been used to fundraise for a cause without her permission."

Tracy Edwards: Arguing with trans activists is like explaining Einstein to my dog - "“I outed myself as gender-critical last July,” she says. “It was terrifying. I sailed around Cape Horn three times but when I went on my first women’s rights protest I was trembling with fear.” Edwards, a vegan, chooses her audiences carefully. “There are three things I don’t talk about at dinner parties: Palestine, veganism and trans.”"

Sturgeon: Late Queen asked for gossip on Alex Salmond sex scandal - "Ms Sturgeon also admitted this week that rapists such as Isla Bryson should “probably forfeit” their right to self-identify as women.  She abruptly quit as SNP leader amid a scandal caused by the trans double rapist being initially placed in a female jail.  Despite Ms Sturgeon’s public insistence that she had simply run out of energy, SNP sources insisted at the time that the fallout from her transgender policies had been key to her demise."

Kristen Waggoner on X - "HUGE WIN at the 9th Circuit for our client Jessica Bates! This widowed Oregon mom was categorically barred from adopting a foster child—regardless of the child’s age or beliefs—because she wouldn’t promise to affirm gender ideology.   The 9th Circuit ruled that Oregon’s policy likely violates Jessica’s First Amendment rights to free speech & religious liberty. The state must immediately stop enforcing this unconstitutional policy against her, because it served as a de facto ban on parents of certain faiths from Oregon’s adoption & foster care system.   These policies are all too common in left-leaning states—and they harm children who need loving families more than anyone else. @ADFLegal  is currently litigating similar cases in VT and WA.   We’re thrilled that Jessica’s courageous stand has resulted in this win at the 9th Circuit. We pray it will lead to more victories for children & families.  Gender ideology should never block loving parents from helping children in need."

Libs of TikTok on X - "WOW. Uber is planning to roll out a new "Women's Preference" program, similar to their "Women Rider Preferences" program, which will allow female riders to select only women as their drivers.  The problem is, Uber has a "gender declaration form" that allows male drivers to identify as women.  What is the point of a program made for women when men can just identify as women? @Uber"
Taylor Silverman on X - "This sounds like a great way for predators to find vulnerable victims."

Wesley Yang on X - "The media celebrated a 17-year old female mathematical prodigy while actively suppressing the fact in the initial report that the girl is actually a boy. It's not hard to do the intersectional math and figure out why the story wasn't framed as a triumph of "transgender inclusion." A weird confluence of different interests at play, among them the fact that 1.) a contagion of trans-identification is ripping through the male nerd population and 2.) STEM and tech are "solving" their gender problems with a burgeoning new cohort of these male nerds who "identify" as a women"
Chris {∜} on X - "A few years ago, the "Women Who Code" organization shut down with barely a peep. Strong indications were that they got completely swamped by transvestites. The only actual surprise is that they were able to hit the kill switch instead of having to cede it to the troons entirely."
em on X - "I remember going to a women's meetup at a tech conference about 13 years ago. A TW was holding court and monologuing while a bunch of young women stood around them in a circle nodding silently. I just thought, this is progress?"
genderskeptic πŸŸ₯πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ’πŸ¦– on X - "My experience of geeky coding conferences is that when organisers advertise gender balance this is typically achieved by at least half of the "women speakers" actually being men."
Dr. Turbo Esq. on X - "There’s an incredibly male dominated hobby called “speed running” in which you try to beat a particular video game as fast as possible. You won’t be surprised at the composition of the participants when the hobby has a “woman” only event."
Berath #FBPE πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡πŸŽ²πŸŒˆπŸ¦ŠπŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί on X - "In recent women’s esport contest, one of the finalists comprised a team of 5/5 transwomen (but of course no-one was allowed to point this out)."

Skoti on X - "Software companies had diversity quotas to meet and realized it was easier to turn autistic men into women than it was to turn women into software engineers"
Plus, they count for the trans diversity quota too, so you kill two birds with one stone

Meme - Frank @frankinsensible: "Esports and associated hobbies such as "Games Done Quick" (i.e. autistic boys playing some unknown video game for literally thousands of hours to beat them in tens of minutes)  is absolutely off the hook regarding trans ideation."

Joyce Carol Oates on X - "sorry, can you give examples: are there really prisons in the US where a convicted man can just say, "I am a woman," & be transported to a women's prison?   so often this claim is made on Twitter, but never any  substantiation. so, just answer: what are the statistics of men currently incarcerated in women's facilities?"
Daniel Kodsi on X - "The American Civil Liberties Union once sued to prevent the release of such information."
pagliacci the hated 🌝 on X - "“never any substantiation” in your case translates to “I refuse to do a modicum of research and disbelieve any examples I do actually see”"
Average Undertaker Enjoyer on X - "‘Here’s 2 dozen articles from reduxx’
‘Reduxx is a terf website. Doesn’t count.’

pagliacci the hated 🌝 on X - "I remember when KPSSUSA posted the actual FOI from the Bureau of Prisons showing that 50% of troons in federal prison were sex offenders and there was just endless cope from these people trying to claim they were “lesser” sex offences"
"This is not happening, and it's good that it is"
Naturally, she ignored everyone who presented her with evidence

REDUXX on X - ""These men that transferred in are predators." Former Minnesota Department of Corrections employee Alicia Beckmann is slamming Governor Tim Walz for allowing trans-identified male sex offenders to be transferred into the state's only women's prison. WATCH:"

Britain is a tinderbox. This crackdown on Union flags could make it explode - "the Mirror website reported that a criminal had been handed a two-year suspended sentence. The headline described the criminal as a woman. Beneath that headline, however, was a photograph, showing that the woman in question had pink hair – and a beard.  These days, of course, there’s nothing remotely unusual about Left-wing news outlets referring to male criminals as women, if that is how the criminals say they see themselves. The only reason I draw attention to this particular story is that the criminal, who is 46 years old, also happens to be a self-professed “adult baby diaper-lover”. Apparently, the court was told that such people like to wear nappies not out of any medical necessity, but because they are “regressing” to childhood, in search of a “gentler, more carefree time”.  This intrigued me. Because, if a man who chooses to dye his hair pink must be described as a woman, shouldn’t a man who chooses to wear Pampers be described as a baby?  For the sake of consistency, the Mirror should surely have reported that the two-year suspended sentence had been handed to a newborn baby girl. Stating that a crime committed by an adult was committed by a baby is no more absurd than stating that a crime committed by a man was committed by a woman.  And anyway, it’s important to be inclusive. In due course, I feel sure, our streets will be filled with placard-wielding progressives chanting that adult babies are babies, and calling for the right of every 46 year-old to enrol at his local crΓ¨che"

Shutting down lawful views is censorship. It must stop - "  In recent months, we have seen a disturbing pattern – prominent cultural institutions funded by taxpayers bowing to activist pressure and shutting down lawful, legitimate viewpoints.  This is not tolerance. It is censorship. And it must stop.  The latest example is the National Library of Scotland’s decision to exclude The Women Who Wouldn’t Wheesht from its centenary exhibition. The book is a collection of essays by feminists including JK Rowling about their fight against Nicola Sturgeon’s gender self-ID laws.  It was publicly nominated, comfortably passed the threshold for inclusion, underwent a formal sensitivity check and was initially approved. Yet it was later vetoed after internal pressure from a staff network.    Meanwhile, books expressing directly opposing views on gender identity remain on display. That is not impartial curation – it is naked viewpoint discrimination.  This matters because the National Library is not a private book club. It is a statutory national institution, funded by the public, with a duty to protect Scotland’s literary record and reflect the breadth of public discourse – not to act as a gatekeeper for the politically acceptable.  When curators allow internal factions to overrule agreed decisions, they undermine trust in the institution’s independence.   The same mindset was evident at Summerhall Arts during the Edinburgh Fringe.   Kate Forbes, the Deputy First Minister, was invited to speak at a lawful, legitimate event – only to be met with a public apology from the venue for her very presence, and the suggestion that she might not be welcome again.  Leaving aside the breathtaking discourtesy, this amounts to unlawful discrimination against an elected politician. Yet Summerhall receives substantial public funding through Creative Scotland.  If a publicly funded venue believes it can exclude lawful viewpoints on political grounds, it has no business accepting public money.  Then there is the ongoing campaign to strip the Edinburgh International Festival of sponsorship from Baillie Gifford. Whatever one’s political position on the issues raised by campaigners, the deliberate destabilisation of a world-class cultural institution’s funding base is reckless.  It risks making the festival – and others like it – more fragile, more dependent on state handouts, and less willing to take creative risks. That is the opposite of what a vibrant arts sector needs. Here is the principle at stake: no cultural body that compromises freedom of speech – whether through exhibitions, performances, sponsorship arrangements, or speaker invitations – should receive a penny of public money.  Governments at both Westminster and Holyrood must make this commitment explicit. Funding agreements should contain enforceable obligations to uphold the broadest range of lawful views.   Any breach of these obligations should have real consequences – including the withdrawal of public funds."
Damn TERF censorship! Far right views that should not be aired in polite society should not be platformed! Threatening to pull funding is literally fascism!
Weird. I thought book bans were wrong and fascist
