Observations as a korean canadian

This got deleted, but here's the text:

"I have been in Canada (toronto, ottawa and London) and this is what i observed. These are my opinions.

  1. Public transportation here sucks and politicians have no idea how to fix it.

I almost laughed when a girl from Toronto said that TTC is clean. TTC is disgusting. Koreans and other East Asians hate TTC and talk about how disgusting it is. My dad always said that TTC is built by an idiot.

I wonder why politicians/TTC never compare their system to Asian coyntries. They always compare it to Netherlands or some European country. They should compare/strive for korean/japanese/hong kong public transportation systems.

2. Healthcare sucks here.

Korea has a good semi government funded system, with private options. You can pay and get very good service or wait and get nice service.

I hate Canadian healthcare, even if it is free. Hospitals here look worn down and disgusting.i've seen hospital curtains with duct tape and dust and hair on the ground. Korean hospitals look nicer. My dad's hospital renovated and everything is clean. It look like the hospitals from kdramas or house md.

Healthcare workers ride the TTC with their disgusting scrubs on, whoch should not be allowed. Korean health care workers dont do this.

Speaking of healthcare workers, they are lazy, mean and unskilled here. Nurses/paramedics here have a hard time finding my vein. One time , i went to the hospital during covid. When i was discharged, the nurse didn't even bring the cart with the alcohol and cotton pads. She just ripped the needle out and then wiped the blood with the blanket that i had from the ambulance. I asked the doctor if anything was wrong with me. She just told me to talk to my doctor and did not give any kind of medication. No smile either. My family physician (foreign trained) asked me if i was given any medication to take home. I told him no and he looked surprised.

Recently, i had go for an ultrasound in Canada (no choice) and the technician just put cold gel on my stomach without warming it up. In korea, the technician will always warm it up so that it is comfortable for the patient.

Laziness and bitchy attitudes have been verified by other healthcare workers from overseas. I know mang foreign trained doctors and doctors who work at Canadian hospitals. They said Canadian workers are extremely lazy compared to the workers overseas. My father is a doctor in Korea and he said the Canafian system is notorious and horrible among peers. He would rather go to the US or stay in Korea.

Honestly, what kind of service is this? I do not support health care workers getting more pay until they offer good service.

I (and many Koreans) go to Korea just for medical exams). It sucks that there is very limited private options here, for now. I'd rather pay money and get good pleasant service. It is sad that i have to go overseas, when this money can go to the Canadian economy. CANADA loses billions annually due to this.

In contrast, Asian countries really know customer service. They always smile and are kind. You can see this at hospitals and airlines. For example, stewardesses at Singapore airlines will get on their knees to serve you (at least in forst class). If you purchase a seat for equipment or large instrument, the stewardess will actually secure it to the seat for you. Air Canada? Forget it.

3. Slow. Things are fucking slow here. In korea tou can get your passport the same day without references etc. Most government services are fast. Canada....

4. Any kind of customer service sucks here and i have to tip bad service. Not the case in Asia.

5. Dirty. Lazy people put garbage everywhere. Seoul managed to clean up. If you get caught littering, police will find you (cameras).

6. Homeless/crazy people everywhere. I rarely see homeless people in Seoul. If you do, the police will take them to a shelter so that they can get help and jobs."
