"If there's anything unsettling to the stomach, it's watching actors on television talk about their personal lives." - Marlon Brando

***

Someone: look, astar just sent me an email. "We are updating our database. Please update us on your hobbies and musical inclination."
"Types of hobbies/ECA you have engaged/are engaging in during your leisure time
Musical inclination
Member of any committees/clubs etc and if you are holding positions"

fuck.
like i am still in sec sch. will they give us points? determine our salary based on this?

oh i know something we're going to do for sure tho. set up tuition center
i teach english she teach maths
set liao lor.

you want in on that? you can tutor desperate JC students in econds.

Me: maybe they want to look for a* talentime candidates

Someone: talentime? i should reply and say "Gay sex."
but better not. they might send me for counselling, so.

Me: =D

hehe
dont you love a*

Someone: they are always pulling this shit lah. just ignore lor.

i mean
even my [sexually deviant] friend works there right

so.
we are a diverse bunch :P

TMM: eh
can I be refered to as TMM next time on your blog?
haha

Me: Teenage Mutant Monkey?

TMM: The MatheMugger
=D

Me: actually I mostly support feminism in the context of the third world

Someone: you mean like for women who live in truly patriarchal societies?

i have a problem with the idea that women are equal to men

so while i believe women in those societies deserve more than the shit they get cos they're women, i don't think of it as being feminist.. i think of it as supporting human rights

Me: that's [human rights] a good way of thinking of it

Someone: i don't think we are equal, i think we are different
we are made for different purposes

Me: feminism does not say women are equal to men
it says women are equal to men, except when making women unequal to men benefits women

Someone: i forgot which module i did in nus that talked about 3 different kinds of feminism
all of which made no sense to me

which is why i don't buy it

one of them was the usual strident men-shld-eat-shit-and-die type feminism

another was the kind where women use their femininity to get what they believe they deserve
like the passive version i think

but i don't remember the third

Me: probably
liberal feminism
radical feminism

and one more

[Someone suggests post
aki, essentialist]

Me: Office Manager

General Office Duties
Answer the phone, Greet visitors [...]

wth want secretary say secretary lah

MFTTW: yeah i was going to say... secretary job ah

actually
these days all these jobs are couched in very pretty terms

Me: everyone is an 'officer'

MFTTW: i don't think you can apply for an actual "secretary" job any more it's always this or that manager or officer

"front desk manager" = receptionist
"facilities officer" = toilet auntie

...

Me: maybe I can go into women's studies

MFTTW: wth lor. they'd kick you out in a day.

Me: I can turn over a new leaf
converted misogynist =D

MFTTW: are you sure you're not already blacklisted on every womens studies dept in the first world

Me: then third world how

MFTTW: hello. 3rd world not so boliao to have women's studies can.
women's studies in 3rd world is home ec class

the real feminism is the one where women keep their mouth shut and work hard and use the results to prove their case.

all the other harpies accomplish is to set us back decades.

the more you fight it the more you emphasize that there is a difference no?

look lor. if you are an employer. would you hire someone who blatantly identifies as a "feminist". you'd be so scared taht once she starts working she'll find fault in everything you do (even if there isn't anything wrong) and before you know it you'd get slapped with a discrimination lawsuit.

and there you go, one more male who was preferentially hired over a female.

SEXIST!

...

s'pore is stupid. people there work hard not because they want to but because they are scared they'll fall behind their peers if they don't. not to mention they saddle themselves with ridiculous debt so the working is to pay it off.

then because their lives are meaningless except for work, they go and spend more money to make it feel worth it.

Me: so how do all these celebrities sleep around so much
but nothing is in the open

if girls can only rise to the top by sleeping around
how do guys rise to the top

maybe girls can rise if they don't sleep
but it's easier to sleep

if you sleep around and work as hard as someone who doesn't sleep around you will be at the top

HWMNBN: because its' part of the game, most people are reasonably discreet, and and guys rise to the top by hard work and labour and intellect which then gets approrpiated by some cheebai for free

Me: so why aren't women masters of the world

HWMNBN: if women took the energies they're spending on this xx / dy thing and used it they would be masters of the world
fortunately such things distract their powrs

Someone: http://theladymelissa.blogspot.com/
haha *** is so indignant abt this

Me: aiyah it's a prick lah

I told him not to feed the trolls :P

Someone: LOL

sigh these people can be infuriating

Me: why read then :P

Someone: bc *** asked me to

Me: haha
I cant be bothered to reply
because they'll just give a nonsense respone

Someone: they usually dnt bother to listen

Me: so why bother
just skim and laugh :P

this is called the wisdom of age hahaha

Someone: hahaha
but its so irritating for them to think they're right and unchallenged

Me: Depending on my mood/free time, I have one of two sentiments:

1) "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke (attr)

2)
"Arguing on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded."

Me: see
play with fire and see what you get

HWMNBN: my association with *** predates ***, and i confess i'm a little sad it turned out this way

but. *shrugs* when as will smith shows us, when a beloved bitch turn sagainst you
you must break its neck

Me: it's about hanging out with someone you know is a ravenous bitch

HWMNBN: *another shrug* you know morality is the last criteria in my choice of friends

she also helped me out on a couple of occasions
i still have a certain debt of honour from the past

Me: it's not about morality

if there's a rabid neighborhood dog you may enjoy seeing it bite passers-by
but one day it may bite your guests. or even you.

HWMNBN: as this case demonstrates

i don't disagree. but until the dog becamse rabid, and turned, who was i to judge?

i certainly didn't see it coming

and i honestly thought she would respect my firendship with her enough to back off ***

Me: I'm sure the dog had been rabid
but it just hadn't bitten any of your friends

HWMNBN: actually - and you probably don't want to hear this - but if she'd turned against someone else i didn't know i would still defend her. i might tell her she's an evil bitch and disapprove but my code of honour requires you stick by your own above all
untli they go bat shit crazy and turn against other members of your tribe

i actually was far more offended that she did not respect the same code than the fact that she went after *** - the latter is just her nature, which I was well aware of. but the code of friendship demanded that she back off when i interceded.

unfortunately women do not understand honour the way we do
sigh
so hard to befriend them

Me: in the way you do

that's why you just bang them right

HWMNBN: more or less
