Observations - 22nd January 2007

"Laws are like sausages. It's better not to see them being made." - Otto von Bismarck

Friend's nickname (presumably about which can be applied to the GST hike): "A rising tide lifts all boats but you must have a boat in the first place"

The same smoke in smoked meats that causes cancer also kills bacteria. Hurr hurr.

In a 30 day period around Christmas, 3 4 of my (male) friends got jumped, that I know of. No wonder tis the season to be jolly.

When a lady says ‘No’, she means ‘Maybe’ and when she says ‘Maybe’ she means ‘Yes. And if she says ‘Yes’, then she is no lady.

When a diplomat says ‘Yes’, he means ‘Maybe’ and when he says ‘Maybe’, he means ‘No. And if he says ‘No’, then he is no diplomat.

I first heard a variant of this in an advertisement, and it went something along the lines of:

"When a man says 'Yes', he means 'Maybe'. When a man says 'Maybe', he means 'No'.
When a woman says 'No', she means 'Maybe'. When a woman says 'Maybe', she means 'Yes'."
