A laughably bad email I got regarding my Cash Harvest Cult review, which has been put up online too:

In reference to you blog entry, I would like to comment on some of the stuffs you had wrote.
But prior to that I would like to declare that I'm a Christian, I was from CHC and was there at the same service as you.

1. The Rock Band you had mention is call "Delirious"
2. The Jumping is the culture of CHC, and it's not the manifestation of the Spirit, just like jumping in a rock concert.
3. No Negligence is involved because this world as of now belongs to Satan before Christ reclaim it, we (Christians) are just doing our best to help.
4. In order to quote Deut 8:20, you need to read verse 19 "Then it shall be, if you by any eans forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods. and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perished.
Deuteronomy is the fifth book of Moses, written when they (Jews) were in the Promised Land when they are being lead out of Egypt. It's their "Law Book"
The whole chapter is call "Remember the Lord Your God", putting the importance of the Lord into the heart of the Jews.
5. Matthew 19:24 "And again I say to you, it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God". This is metaphorical speaking. It's means the level of difficulty for a rich man (of the world) to enter the kingdom of God" This is further emphasies in Matthew 6:19-21 "Lay Up Treasures in Heaven"
v19. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy an thieves break in and steal;
v20. "but lay up yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
v21. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
6. City Harvest Claims they have put up their Financial reports.
7. Deuteronomy 22:5 (Women were not allowed to wear Jeans). I would like to stress again, as in point 4, this law is applicable to the Jews which Moses had lead out of Egypt.
8. There's a Creator. Yes, we disavowing Evolution & Big Bang. Follow more in depth material read Creationism.
9. We are Fallen. I can't help but laugh at your understanding of the genesis story. Humans are created perfect. (Gen 1:26 - 31). We had fallen because of the Temptation Satan give (Gen 3)
10. Restoration. Please, Christian based their faith on the Bible. What, Pagan Origins of Christ Myth, Book of Judas and stuff are all material used to shaken Christian fatih.
Is 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
11. Jeremiah 29:8-9 "for thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, decieve you, nether hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
Read Jeremiah 29:1 Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the remainder of the elders who are carried away captive - to the priests the prophets, and all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon.
The prophets and diviners Jeremiah referring to are those of Idol worshippers being held together with these bunch of elders in Babylon (which is a place of Idols)
12. Know, Apply, Live the Word (logos)
This is applicable for the Christian, with constant reading of the Word, then you will have the Word coming to life (Rhema) Practical examples, Jesus's healing ministry.
13. God don't hate amputees. What's you logic behind it may I ask?

I will be gladly trying to answer your questions if you had any with my limited knowledge of the Word. Do note that I may take some times for the more difficult ones, through consultations with my elders.

God Bless You.
Lupin Tan.

My reply:

Incidentally I used to be a Christian. Then I saw the light and the Truth set me Free.

I know, that's part of my point - making service a rock concert is a way of keeping and expanding mindshare. I never said it was a manifestation of the spirit.

???

1) God is all-powerful
2) God is all-good
3) Evil exists
4) God is not doing anything to prevent evil
C) God is negligent

Relevance? If you're saying Deuteronomy is only relevant to the Jews and so 8:20 is not applicable in a modern context, then what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander - Christians can't quote willy-nilly from it either.

A literary analysis of the Gospels, besides the 2 parts already spoken about, shows that Jesus is a left-winger who at the very least is skeptical of rich people/riches. And it's very clear that all things being equal, rich people are less likely to go to heaven than poor people. So... Your point?

> 6. City Harvest Claims they have put up their Financial reports.

I didn't allege financial mismanagement, so this is irrelevant.

> 7. Deuteronomy 22:5 (Women were not allowed to wear Jeans). I would like

And the Gospels were only applicable to early Christians, the Epistles were only applicable to the various Christian communities Paul was writing to. So the whole Bible is irrelevant to us today, yay. Quod erat demonstrandum.

> 8. There's a Creator. Yes, we disavowing Evolution & Big Bang. Follow

FYI, there being a Creator is not incompatible with the Evolution and Big Bang. I've read the trash that passes for Creation "Science" before. Have you followed in depth material from the Flat Earth Society?

What didn't you understand about the quote "We must question the story logic of having an all-knowing all-powerful God, who creates faulty Humans, and then blames them for his own mistakes"?

If humans were created perfect, how could they fall? And if the temptation was from Satan (an idea developed only later in Jewish theology - the snake wasn't originally identified as Satan), how can you blame them?

I have nothing to say. This is the equivalent of stuffing your fingers in your ears and going "Lala, I can't hear you".

> Is 8:20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak

I have no idea what you mean. Are you speaking English?

See 4., 7.

> 13. God don't hate amputees. What's you logic behind it may I ask?

God heals 0.001% of cancer patients who are prayed for. God heals 1% of people with chronic pains who are prayed for (whether the pain comes back later is another matter). God heals 0% of amputees who are prayed for. Evidently he has something against amputees.

Don't bother, I've had my questions answered already, and I think I know more than you.

May the Flying Spaghetti Monster save you too. Ramen.

I hope you will see the light one day too.
