Women have the privilege of choosing their mates as the gatekeepers of reproduction. Consequently, who is to blame if they choose the wrong man? The average single mother had the privilege to choose among millions of men. And she willingly and knowingly choose wrong."

You're beautiful. You are strong. Keep slaying. Ignore the haters. They only go againts you cause you're amazing. Never settle for less. Put yourself at the top."  I got curious and went on to search for men's motivational videos and... Wow. It's so.. Different. It goes generally like : "You're a piece of shit. You're not going to get anywhere in your life if you stay that way. You want people to love you but guess what? No one will ever do. Cause you're a man. But guess what? Stand up anyways. Start walking forward. Start working on yourself. You don't need anyone else to love you. Do what matters for you. If you don't ever put effort, then don't complain about not getting anywhere in your life. Stay lazy or stay motivated. You need to discipline yourself you fucking lazy ass bitch." And honestly...I like the men's videos more. Cause it's transparent, and realistic. Women's videos are okay but, it's pretty coated with these delusional statements. Meme - "AITA for getting mad at husband's dating advice to his friend and also at his doubling down when called him out on it?
I (32F) have been with my husband (35M) for six years, married for four. We’ve always had a great relationship, or so I thought, but recently something has been bothering me deeply.  My husband has a close friend who’s single and struggling in the dating world. They talk a lot, and I overheard a conversation they had where my husband was giving him advice. His friend was talking about a few women he was considering dating, and my husband’s response shocked me.  He told his friend to avoid dating single moms and women who are overweight. But it didn’t stop there—he even made jokes about how these women probably “let themselves go” or “come with too much baggage.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. It felt so cruel, so insensitive. I confronted him later, telling him how hurtful and disgusting it was to talk about women like that.  But here’s the kicker: instead of apologizing, he threw it back in my face. He reminded me of all the times I’ve given similar “advice” to my girlfriends. Apparently, he’s heard me tell my friends to steer clear of men who are under 6 feet tall, have small dicks, single dads or don’t make enough money. He even brought up a few times I’ve made jokes about guys who are balding.  I was furious. I told him it’s completely different when women talk about men like that because men have male privilege and patriarchy on their side. Society doesn’t judge men the way it judges women, and it’s not the same to joke about a man’s height or income as it is to joke about a woman’s weight or being a single mom. Women are constantly scrutinized for their looks and their life choices, while men get to be imperfect and still find partners easily.  But he just wouldn’t listen. He kept saying that if I’m allowed to have preferences, so is he. If I can joke about a guy’s height or income, he can joke about a woman’s weight. I feel like he’s missing the point entirely, and it’s making me so upset. I feel like he doesn’t understand how much harder it is to be a woman in this world and how harmful his words are.  Now, I’m wondering if I’m overreacting or if he really doesn’t get how much more damaging it is when men talk like this about women. I don’t know how to get through to him, and it’s driving a wedge between us. I can’t stand the idea that he thinks it’s okay to talk about women that way. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? How do I explain that it’s not the same thing at all?"

Rob Henderson on X - ""Women perceive female gossipers as unfriendly, unkind, unattractive, and untrustworthy...secrecy and friendship are so inextricably intertwined among girls that when they contemplated what made someone a desirable friend, the ability to keep a secret was at the top of the list""
Bless her heart: Gossip phrased with concern provides advantages in female intrasexual competition - "Although many women report being victimized by gossip, fewer report spreading negative gossip. Female gossipers might be unaware they are gossiping if they disclose such statements out of concern for targets. Four studies (N = 1709) investigated whether women believe their gossip is motivated by concern and whether expressing concern for targets insulates female gossipers against social costs, while simultaneously impairing targets' reputations. Study 1 examined sex differences in gossip motivations. Compared to men, women endorsed stronger concern than harm motivations, especially when gossiping about other women, suggesting these motivations characterize female intrasexual gossip. In Study 2, female gossipers who phrased their negative gossip with concern (versus maliciously or neutrally) were evaluated as more trustworthy and desirable as social and romantic partners. Study 3 replicated the favorable evaluations of concerned female gossipers. Female participants especially disliked malicious female gossipers, suggesting professions of concern might help to avoid women's scorn. Male participants reported lower romantic interest in female gossip targets when they learned concern (versus malicious or no) gossip, suggesting concerned gossip can harm female targets' romantic prospects. Study 4 revealed these patterns extend to face-to-face interactions. A female gossiper was preferred as a social partner when she phrased her gossip with concern versus maliciously. Moreover, concerned gossip harmed perceptions of the female target as effectively as malicious gossip. Altogether, findings suggest that negative gossip delivered with concern effectively harms female targets' reputations, while also protecting gossipers' reputations, indicating a viable strategy in female intrasexual competition."

I was really struck by it when I watched some clips of her hosting Saturday Night Live.  Sweeney seems...normal. For values of normality that men find all too rare these days. She's sweet, feminine, playful, a little giggly, confidently sexy without being slutty about it.  Most of all, she reads like a woman who doesn't have a whole bunch of landmines a man might step on if he got too close to her. No daddy issues, no cluster B personality disorder, no neurotic fixations, no generalized anger at men.  In a world where a shockingly large percentage of marriageable young women have diagnosed mental diseases, men are desperate for this.   Normal. ‘The music industry has failed us’: Kate Nash on her decision to join OnlyFans - "Pop singer Kate Nash has said her decision to join OnlyFans is about “agency” and to raise awareness of the dire situation many artists face, at the same time rejecting critics who have called her decision “sad”. Over the weekend, Nash announced that she had launched a “Butts for Tour Buses” campaign, citing rising costs of travel, accommodation, food, promotion and crew... Earlier this year, Nash’s fellow pop star Lily Allen launched her own OnlyFans account, on which she has been sharing photos of her feet to subscribers. The decision initially started as a joke on her hit BBC podcast, Miss Me? with her longtime friend, TV presenter Miquita Oliver. However, Allen recently revealed that she now makes more money from her feet pictures on OnlyFans than she does through streams of her music on Spotify... a survey of almost 6,000 performers found that around half of professional musicians earn less than £14,000 a year from their music. The report revealed more than half (53 per cent) sustain their career by sourcing other forms of income outside of music – and 75 per cent of those who have other income in addition to music report only seeking this work for financial reasons."

On Chrystia Freeland's Resignation

Julius Ruechel on X

Why did Chrystia Freeland resign?

In politics, nothing is what it seems. This isn't because of a dispute with Trudeau over tariffs & spending.

She resigned because she's making a play for his job, while simultaneously outflanking Mark Carney.

Let me explain the elaborate game that I think is afoot... (a thread🧵)

The whole world can see Trudeau's star is fading. Even the 🇨🇦 dollar is in freefall. His own party wants him gone. Freeland, as his Deputy PM + Finance Minister, is tied at the hip to Trudeau's sinking ship.

Rumors were Trudeau was about to fire Freeland as his "fall guy".

And Mark Carney was being floated as her replacement, or possibly even his.

But here's where things get devious as she uses her resignation as a way to untie herself from Trudeau's sinking ship while simultaneously using it as a way to outflank Mark Carney in the bid for the Liberal leadership.

By using a "fiscal dispute" as an excuse to resign from his cabinet -- even as she stays on as an MP (unlike Bill Morneau in 2020 or Jody Wilson Raybould in 2019 who both left politics) --she's pushing the Trudeau regime's financial disaster back into Trudeau's lap. By pre-emptively resigning, she's pinning the blame on his incompetent leadership, and he looks ridiculous if he tries to pin the blame on her.

With this bit of theater, she's positioned herself as a comparative "voice of reason", expressing concern for Canada's future while insinuating grave doubts about Trudeau's competence.

Her play prevents Trudeau from scapegoating her as the fall guy -- now he owns what his regime has wrought. This matters for whoever he tries to appoint to replace her...

Freeland has essentially triggered a leadership crisis in the Liberal party.

By resigning in this dramatic manner, refusing to be part of his cabinet going forward, but staying on as an MP, she has outflanked Trudeau's effort to pin Canada's death spiral on her. He doesn't get a fresh start by firing her and then appointing someone to replace her.

But she does (or hopes she does).

Meanwhile, anyone who is appointed by Trudeau to replace her is tying their career to his sinking ship.

Thus, the role of Deputy PM and/or Finance Minister has become a hot potato as long as he's captain of the ship. He's left struggling to create a stable cabinet as the rats try to flee his sinking ship.

When even his own Deputy PM and Finance Minister have publicly expressed grave doubts about his competence and resigned from his cabinet in protest, it would be kryptonite for the future of the Liberal party to allow him to lead the party into the next election. He will be forced to resign in the coming weeks/months.

Prior to her resignation, there were unhappy members but only one camp -- Trudeau's. And Mark Carney was being groomed as his replacement by the entire regime, by the media, and so on.

But by pre-emptively resigning while throwing shade on Trudeau's competence, Freeland has created a rival camp in the Liberal party. The loyalty of party members is now being split by this rift -- do they stand with him as he sinks, or sympathize with her?

Already some MP's (like Anand) have made noises of sympathy towards her. How can they not -- as a DEI-obsessed govt, and with Trudeau's track record of firing female members of his govt, Freeland is now well positioned to pick up the support of MPs trying to distance themselves from Trudeau's sinking ship.

But she's also simultaneously thrown a wrench in Mark Carney's plans...

By preventing Trudeau from setting her up as his fall guy, Carney can no longer be brought in as the "saviour" to clean up her mess. Freeland has signaled that it's Trudeau's mess, not hers, that needs to be cleaned up.

But Carney is Trudeau's special economic advisor. By association, this has now become his mess too. And if he takes a role in Trudeau's cabinet, he's Trudeau's special guy, brought in by incompetent Trudeau to clean up Trudeau's (and his own) mess. If he accepts the job now, he would be unequivocally tying himself to Trudeau's sinking ship.

Thus, Freeland's play shrewdly forces Carney to either stay away or to rebrand himself as also being critical of Trudeau in order to avoid further tainting himself with Trudeau's toxic aura. He can't slip smoothly into the role anymore -- he either has to become adversarial and publicly critical of Trudeau, like Freeland has, or he goes down with Trudeau's ship before his career in the Liberal Party even gets started.

The crisis that Freeland has unleashed with her resignation and pubic criticism of Trudeau's competence has turned service in Trudeau's cabinet into a career-threatening proposition. As his hold over his party unravels, the probability that someone other than Trudeau will be leading the Liberals into the next election increases dramatically.

Instead, we have two rival camps emerging as Trudeau's successor: Carney vs Freeland.

And Freeland's play positions Carney as inept Trudeau's handpicked guy and co-architect of Trudeau's financial disaster, with her positioning herself as the alternative.

After Freeland's grotesque mismanagement of 🇨🇦's finances during her tenure, the idea that she suddenly has misgivings about Trudeau's spending or that she's suddenly growing a conscience is laughable.

But this alternate explanation makes a lot more sense. Trudeau's time is ending. The rats are finding ways off his ship and positioning themselves to try to seize the throne.

Whether Freeland's elaborate game succeeds is another matter altogether. Her hands are stained. Her play reeks of desperation. But she is a skilled manipulator (otherwise she wouldn't have lasted this long in Liberal politics), and never underestimate the capacity of the Liberal party, the media, and liberal voters to rewrite history according to some new emerging narrative as their love affair with Trudeau comes to an end.

At a minimum, she has improved her chances of being re-elected by distancing herself from Trudeau and by pinning the economic wreckage caused by his leadership on him.

But by splitting the party into two camps, she is also forcing the other Liberal party members to pick sides. Liberal MP's can either:

1. Remain loyal to Trudeau,
2. Jump ship to Freeland's camp,
3. Or set up a third rival camp.

Anyone considering option #3 faces a much more difficult run for the leadership role now that Trudeau and Freeland (as #1 and #2 of the party) are in rival camps. And by being the first to jump ship, if a third camp does emerge, she can easily smear them as being Trudeau lackeys because they continued to serve a failing Trudeau after she split.

Meanwhile Carney, as Trudeau's current special economic advisor, is going to have to find some creative way to rebrand himself to avoid tying himself to Trudeau's sinking ship. Or stay away altogether.

In the world of politics, the headlines are all lies while the real story plays out in the subtext.

We need to be able to assimilate people. This would have been the case for any assymetry in numbers, it just happens to be Indians. This is not the first time Banerjee, who was born in France to Indian parents, has come under scrutiny for his comments. In a 2022 interview with a YouTube channel, Banerjee, who described himself as a Hindu nationalist, had claimed that he wanted Modi to rule Canada and that he “supports the killing of Muslims and Sikhs in India because they deserve to die.”  “Hinduism is the way, I am a hardcore Hindu nationalist. I would have Modi ruling India as well as this country (Canada). He kills Muslim terrorists and Sikh terrorists. It is awesome what Modi is doing. Muslims need to understand that if they’re gonna need to live in our country, they got to follow our rules and if they don’t, they will get it. They will get it,” he had said."

‘Go Back To England, Europe’: Khalistanis Ask Canadians To Leave Canada | Watch - "In a brazen act of entitlement, the Khalistan sympathisers termed Canadians “invaders" and asked them to “go back to England and Europe", a viral two-minute video of a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ in the country showed. “This is Canada, our own country. You [Canadians] go back," the procession can be heard saying."
Left wing logic - this can't be trusted because it's an isolated incident and publicised by a propaganda outlet. But if one swastika is seen associated with a cause/person the left disapproves of...

All the times Trudeau slammed others for questioning high immigration - "The reaction of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre to the immigration cut was a social media post reading “the great irony of Trudeau’s video attacking his own immigration policies is that if anyone else had said the same thing 2 years ago, he would have called them racist. And Poilievre has a point. Below is a cursory list of times that Trudeau – and members of his cabinet – have slammed people as xenophobes for questioning immigration policy. In 2018, Canada was just at the beginning of an unprecedented influx of illegal border crossers that hasn’t really subsided.  In 2018 alone, 20,598 would illegally cross the border in order to claim asylum – most of the crossings happening at a ditch on the Quebec/New York border known as Roxham Road. It’s why, in March 2018, the Quebec government officially asked the Trudeau government for $146 million to cover the cost of all the arrivals.  While Trudeau was speaking at a Quebec rally in August 2018, a heckler cited the number, telling him in French, “I want to know when you’re going to give us $146 million for your illegal immigrants. It’s we who have paid for them.”  In response, Trudeau said “this intolerance towards immigrants has no place in Canada.” And when referencing the exchange at a later event, Trudeau said, “I will not flinch from highlighting when the politics of division, of fear, of spreading misinformation is actually harming the fabric of this country.”... MacLeod also said that all the illegal crossings constituted “queue jumping” around Canada’s legal immigration system.  At a press conference following the meeting, Hussen said there was “no such thing” as queue jumping, and that claiming otherwise was “divisive,” “fearmongering,” “not Canadian” and “very dangerous.” In Trudeau’s video announcing cuts to immigration, he says he should have done it sooner. “As a federal team, we could have acted quicker, and turned off the taps faster,” he said.  This contrasts sharply with a House of Commons statement from last November. At the time, many of the most conspicuous consequences of the immigration surge were already obvious, particularly in the realm of rent and housing prices. “Immigration is excessive full stop,” was the view of one Scotiabank economist at the time. And yet, it only took a question about rising rents from Poilievre for Trudeau to imply that the Conservative leader was anti-immigrant. “I am certain the leader of the opposition was not about to suggest he was anti-immigration, because we all know immigration creates jobs and prosperity, and that is what we are all for,” he said.  Trudeau would have a similar response in January when Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet asked why immigration rates were rising without provincial consultation. “Immigration is essential for Quebec and for Canada … our immigration levels are based on our capacity to welcome and integrate newcomers,” replied Trudeau. In June, Quebec Premier François Legault said “100 per cent of the housing problem” was due to unsustainably high immigration.  When asked about the comments outside a cabinet meeting, Immigration Minister Marc Miller said he was “quite tired of the fact that people are always blaming immigrants for absolutely everything.” He added, “the increase in mortgages, in mortgage prices, has nothing to do with immigrants.” Miller’s view would be slightly different in a similarly off-the-cuff comment from last month, in which he seemed to say that people could blame immigrants for some things. “It is easy to blame immigrants for everything. It’s also undeniable that the volume of migration has contributed to affordability (issues),” he said... In the House of Commons, Poilievre noted that homebuilding was down 19 per cent before asking “where are we going to put everyone?”  Then immigration minister Sean Fraser (who was shortly to be appointed housing minister), replied “I think it is very important that we do not start to believe that the solution to our housing challenges is to close the door to more newcomers.”  “I think that all members of the House, hopefully, support continuing to integrate newcomers into our society,” he added.”

Lianne Rood on X - "In an answer to a question I posed to the government, we learned that the NDP-Liberal government is giving TEN TIMES the benefits to illegal border jumpers than it is giving to help Canadian seniors! DISGRACEFUL! #TrudeauBrokeCanada #seniors #Immigration"

Amy Hamm: The West ignored the threat of radical Islam — now Jews are paying the price - "Like Germany, Canada has adopted a policy of unfettered and incautious immigration, and with it have come some immigrants who are antagonistic toward western values. We stopped caring if our immigrants wanted to blend into our society — rather than upend its virtues entirely. It must also be noted that swathes of our own political left, and others born in Canada, hold a similar disdain for western values. We have been so open and welcoming that we’ve changed the very nature of our society. We’ve changed on a molecular level. We are unrecognizable. That which makes the West an enticing place to live — our openness, tolerance and freedoms — has the power to destroy us, if left unchecked or undervalued. Our national goodwill must not include a tolerance of intolerance. Among the victims of Canada’s failed immigration policy are those who came to Canada seeking an open, pluralistic society in which their families could thrive and integrate. These immigrants unfairly bear the brunt of a changing national sentiment that can include disdain or open hostility towards any and all “foreigners.” We are a country of immigrants–that, in and of itself, is not the issue. For years, writers like Douglas Murray , the late Christopher Hitchens and Ayaan Hirsi Ali have argued that radical Islam poses a threat to the West: to our culture and values — and our physical safety. “You don’t have to be paranoid, racist or a bigot to take alarm,” Hitchens once said of radical Islam. Canadian scholars, meanwhile, have largely mocked this idea, predictably insisting that it is born of nothing more than “Islamophobia” — that nebulous euphemism for what they really wish to say, which is “racism.” For decades, Canadian elites dismissed the threat of Islamic terrorism and portrayed immigration as our saving grace. Take, for instance, the Canada research chair in global politics and international law, Michael Byers, who in 2007 wrote that America’s response to 9/11 was “excessive” (which is true in certain regards) and that, “Like all previous waves of terrorism, the current wave of Islamic terrorism will gradually fade away.” The Arab immigrants living in Montreal, he said, “cringe every time a bomb explodes in the Middle East.” And Canada, Byers argued, “thanks to one of the highest rates of immigration in the world … has acquired a built-in sense of perspective and resilience concerning terrorism.” In other words: The more immigration from countries afflicted by radical Islam, the less radical Islam we will see in Canada. Nonsense. Byers’ attitude of overconfident complacency has suffused our government (until Trudeau’s very recent about-face on immigration, at least), along with our media and ivory towers for decades. They could not have read the situation more wrong. They have been smug with their luxury belief that immigration can only be a net positive. The first two lines of Douglas Murray’s 2017 book “The Strange Death of Europe” reads: “Europe is committing suicide. Or at least its leaders have decided to commit suicide.” Why? Because of mass immigration and an abandonment of western culture and traditions. Canada suffers from the same type of leadership — the same intellectualized nonchalance regarding the survival of western civilization. Post-war efforts to eradicate antisemitism are not just failing — they have failed. What nonconformist thinkers, like Murray and Ali, warned of has now come to pass. It remains to be seen if Canada can escape the clutches of this death spiral. Slowik’s warning for Berlin — hide yourselves, gays and Jews! — sounds so absurd as to be a thinly veiled political statement, a passive-aggressive expression of what our deluded and elitist immigration-pushers insist is nothing more than the nationalistic bigotry of the “far right.”"
Time to blame white people for Jews and gays being unsafe

New survey finds Canadians are feeling anxious about immigration - "Canadians are feeling increasingly uneasy about immigration and its role in generating "economic strain," according to a new survey conducted by the Canadian Museum of Human Rights. Among other things, the survey found that many Canadians believe too much attention is being focused on newcomers and refugees, and that asylum seekers receive too many benefits... the Migrant Rights Network blasted the prime minister. "His statements, which frame migrants as disposable and blame them for systemic crises, perpetuate harmful myths and deflect from policy failures," says a statement from the group's spokesperson Syed Hussan. "The Migrant Rights Network strongly condemns this rhetoric, which obscures the vital role migrants play in building Canada's economy and communities, and calls for permanent residency status for all migrants to protect their rights." The network said Trudeau's video and his government's past statements on immigration distract from the true causes of the housing crisis — corporate landlords and provincial governments that eliminate rent control and don't invest in public housing."
Anything other than open borders is bigotry, and landlords who refuse to lose money by not raising the rent are greedy

Feds want $411 million to cover refugee health care as the number of new arrivals soars - "The IFHP's cost has soared from roughly $60 million in 2016 to a projected $411.2 million this year, easily outpacing inflation. The number of asylum claims around the world is growing, but an increasing share of them are now being made in Canada. Andrew Chang explains how Canada became the fifth-largest recipient of asylum seekers, and the public policy decisions that analysts say have contributed. Former prime minister Stephen Harper's Conservative government curtailed the IFHP and eliminated coverage entirely (new window) for some refugees and asylum seekers as part of a push to reduce spending and balance the budget. The Harper government also said it was unfair for taxpayers to be paying for a program that was, in some instances, much more generous (new window) than what's available to some Canadian citizens and permanent residents through public health care. The decision to cut the program prompted a wave of criticism (new window) and was ultimately deemed unconstitutional (new window) by a Federal Court judge... When the Liberals announced the program's restoration, the then-immigration minister said the program would cost roughly $60 million a year (new window). The cost quickly doubled to $125.1 million a year (new window) in 2019-20 and then more than doubled again to $327.7 million in 2021-22 (new window), according to government data. In the government's supplementary estimates tabled this week — part of the legislative process for asking Parliament for more money to cover initiatives that haven't already been funded — Ottawa is now asking for $411.2 million a year for IFHP... When the health program was fully restored in 2016, there were about 130,340 refugees and asylum seekers eligible for coverage, according to government statistics. (new window) That figure doubled (new window) to 280,322 in 2019-20 as the federal government accepted many more new arrivals — many of them from sites like Quebec's Roxham Road, where thousands of people have crossed into Canada irregularly. As then-president Donald Trump clamped down on immigration and stepped up deportations, many more people decided to head north to avoid Trump's dragnet. Canada also eased visitor visa requirements (new window), which led to more asylum claims at airports. While Canada and the U.S. have since moved to close Roxham Road and do away with irregular crossings, and as Ottawa again tightened visa restrictions, the flow of people claiming asylum and refuge in this country has not abated. In the first nine months of 2024 alone, 132,525 people have claimed asylum (new window) — nearly as many as in all of 2023, which was already a record-seeking year. About 53,000 refugee claims have also been filed (new window) as of September 2024 — a figure that's higher than all of the claims filed last year... An asylum seeker — also called an asylum claimant or refugee claimant — comes to Canada seeking refuge and asks the government to consider them a refugee. These claimants typically spend months or years on the IFHP as they wait for Ottawa to review their files. Resettled refugees, however, are in a different category, as they are referred to Canada by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, another designated referral organization or a private sponsorship group. They are screened abroad before being issued a visa to come to Canada. These refugees usually transition relatively quickly to provincial health-care plans because they are considered permanent residents on arrival — but they do maintain some supplementary benefits like pharmacare for longer than other immigrants."

LILLEY: Trudeau's reckless refugee policy bankrupting Canada - "The explosion in refugee claims in Canada over the past few years is costing Canadian taxpayers billions in mostly unseen costs. On Friday, CBC broke the news of the federal health program for refugees now costing $411 million per year, but that is just the tip of the iceberg shocking as it is. The Interim Federal Health Program, meant to provide basic coverage to refugee claimants while their cases are being heard, cost just $60 million in 2016. With the number of people making refugee claims spiking from roughly 11,000 in 2016 to a total that is expected reach nearly 180,000 this year , costs for the health program have grown. So too have costs for provincial governments and municipalities, all because the Trudeau government has let refugee claims get out of control. Federal officials now process more refugee claims in a month than they used to in an entire year. Let’s be honest, many of the claims are not coming from people who are fleeing war or persecution, they are coming from people who are seeking a better life. They should be trying to come to Canada through the regular immigration system but instead are trying to jump the queue. Right now, Toronto’s emergency shelter system is bursting with more than half of the beds being taken up by refugee claimants. That comes at an incredible cost to the city and municipal taxpayers. In Ottawa, the city is in the middle of putting up what are called sprung structures , essentially giant tents, to try and house all the refugee claimants they are getting. In the nation’s capital, 60% of shelter beds are taken up by refugee claimants. The Ontario government is spending more than $1 billion per year out of the provincial budget for asylum seekers. One out of every four people on Ontario Works, the name for the welfare program, is a refugee claimant. Who can blame people from poorer countries for using whatever means they can find to come here; we give them a better life automatically. In addition to the free health care, documents released by the federal government show taxpayers foot the bill for an average of $140 a day for a hotel room and $84 a day for food for people who cross the border illegally... We also have the problem of thousands of people who have come to Canada on student visas making refugee claims once they arrive in this country. So far this year, nearly 14,000 people who arrived on a student visa have made this claim. They should be immediately kicked out for coming on false pretenses. Instead, they enter into a system that will take years to hear their case and render a decision. Which leads to all those mounting costs on taxpayers."
If you are not for welcoming as many refugees as possible, this is hate and xenophobia
Weird. Left wingers keep claiming that since refugees don't get free money (which is categorically false, see also), refugees don't cost the country anything

Canada didn't live up to its values on immigration in recent years, Carney says - "Canada didn't live up to its values on immigration over the last few years as it allowed more people into the country than it could absorb, said former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney... "we're letting down the people that we let in, quite frankly.""

CIBC CEO says immigrants are the 'lifeblood' of Canada as overall mood on newcomers darkens - "A clear majority of Canadians feel that there’s too much immigration for the first time in 25 years, according to a national survey published in October by research group Environics Institute and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Diversity Institute."

Frustrated with the Recent Immigration Protests : r/canadaexpressentry - "I’m in the Express Entry pool with a PGWP after four years of school and 3yrs work experience, and I still can’t crack 510 points. I get how frustrating this process is—it’s tough and feels unfair at times.  But seeing Indian students protesting on national news, demanding changes to immigration laws to suit themselves, really rubs me the wrong way. Immigration is a privilege, not a right, and standing in front of Canadians, acting entitled, isn’t helping anyone. In fact, it’s probably hurting their own reputation and making things harder for other immigrants too.  I’m not Indian, but whoever told them protesting and calling out Marc Miller was a good idea needs to think twice. It just feels counterproductive and honestly makes us all look bad.  Am I the only one who feels this way?"
"It’s not just you. I deeply despise these low life scum scammers who ruined everything for skilled Indians who did everything by the book. They ruined our reputation as a community, our prospects of immigration, and the beautiful country of Canada."
"I promise you, there are many Canadians who would welcome immigrant protests against mass immigration. We can't do it ourselves without being called racist."
"They'd be unironically called "racist" by about 30% of the Canadian population."
Damn migrants pulling up the ladder behind them!

Bruce McGonigal on X - "🌍🛬🇨🇦Video : Migrant activist Karen Cocq says it’s racist to want cuts to the Canadian immigration system. Is deporting 2 million people racist?"
If you don't believe in open borders, you're racist

Why 1.2M temporary residents may not leave Canada as planned - "“To expect the majority of them to leave wilfully is not feasible,” said Mississauga immigration consultant Kanwar Sierah. “That level of a mass exodus has never happened.”"

Nearly 13K international students applied for asylum this year, data shows - "Immigration Minister Marc Miller said in an interview with Global News that a “growing number” of international students are claiming asylum in order to stay in Canada after being allowed in on student visas, calling it an “alarming trend.”... “We see that it happens often within the first year of the time they’re here … often for less valid reasons than others, notably to drop the tuition fee down to Canadian rates. There’s some opportunism that’s being used and exploited there.”"

Over a quarter of students seeking asylum in Canada from India and Nigeria - "Students from India and Nigeria, who contribute over 27% of all asylum applications, have seen an almost 50% drop in study permits issued in Q3 2024 compared to Q3 2023.   However, both countries remain among Canada’s biggest source nations for international students... five students from the US submitted applications this year."

'Immigration consequences' unlikely for man tied to 401 crash - "Like an indulgent parent, an Oshawa judge warned Manpreet Gill that he could face “immigration consequences.”... Gill, 38, pleaded guilty last month in an Oshawa court to three counts, including the lesser charge of theft under $5,000. Gill initially faced 13 charges.  His status in this country is murky and he was on probation when the incident occurred, the second time in the past two years he breached. Blame opioid addiction, he told the court in Punjabi. Of course, one may wonder why the CBSA wasn’t waiting outside the courthouse to escort Mr. Gill to an awaiting plane and whisk him back to India.  Last week, my Toronto Sun colleague Bryan Passifiume reported that almost 30,000 people ordered for deportation are in the wind. CBSA has simply lost track of them, so there’s that. But let’s rewind.  Gill was acting as a lookout during an LCBO heist in Clarington on April 29 that led to the wrong-way death crash on Hwy. 401 that claimed the lives of four people, including a baby. Cops say his buddy Gagandeep Singh, 21, pulled a knife on an off-duty cop during the robbery that saw the master criminals flee with $1,602.80 in booze. The duo then split in a U-Haul van.  A dramatic high-speed chase saw Singh — who was driving — eventually drive the wrong way down the nation’s busiest highway. It culminated in a multi-vehicle crash that killed three-month-old Aditya Vivaan and two of his grandparents visiting from India. The baby’s parents were also injured. Singh also died in the crash. Gill had nothing to do with the road tragedy, court heard. He too was an illegal immigrant but as the now-sainted former finance minister Chrystia Freeland scolded reporters, bringing up that pertinent fact was, in fact, “not very Canadian.”"

Mario Nawfal on X - "🚨🇺🇸 PEANUT THE SQUIRREL DEAD AFTER NY DEC SEIZURE Mark Longo revealed that the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) euthanized his pet squirrel, Peanut, within 48 hours of seizing it from his home without a warrant. Mark had raised Peanut from infancy after rescuing it when its mother died.   The squirrel, a viral sensation, helped raise funds for animal sanctuaries.   Longo criticizes the DEC’s actions, calling the abrupt loss of his beloved pet unjust and heartless.  Source: @Stillgray"

Thread by @RantyAmyCurtis on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "Buckle up, guys and gals, it’s thread time.  Here’s why Peanut and Fred have become such a rallying point for people:  We aren’t suddenly in love with a squirrel and a raccoon.  They represent the problems of a very broken, petty government. For years, we’ve watched as our betters in the Democratic Party have engaged in the selective application of our laws.  They call it “restorative justice” or “criminal justice reform” or some other nifty euphemism, but what it is is lawfare. It’s why violent repeat offenders can assault, rape, and steal and get a slap on the wrist.  Jordan Neely was arrested something like 40 times prior to his encounter with Daniel Penny.  The Left decided their crimes — which are still crimes — are somehow acceptable. So they turn a blind eye to the minority of citizens who are actually criminals and let them continue to harass and injure others.  Maybe — maybe — if they kill somebody they’ll get jail time. Simply because of the public outcry if they don’t. But it shouldn’t come to someone losing their life before the state protects us.  And eventually they’ll expect us to tolerate them setting murderers loose, too.  People see this. We see criminal illegal immigrants — who are criminals the second they illegally cross our border, btw — get a pass.  Including tens of thousands who are ACTUAL criminals: gang members, murderers, rapists.  And our government shrugs and says “Oh well, nothing we can do.” Martha Raddatz says it’s “a handful” of gang members taking over apartments.  As if the acceptable number of violent gangs running America apartment complexes should be anything other than ZERO. During COVID, we watched as government shut down our schools and businesses and arrested people who had the nerve to fish alone on an empty beach.  That was “unsafe”, you grandma killer.  The UK toyed with killing ALL PET CATS. Then George Floyd happened and suddenly riots and protests and being outside in large groups was okay.  My dad’s funeral? Nah.  Your kid’s graduation? Nope?  But assholes burning down cities? OKAY! Few of them were arrested as they did billions of dollars in damage to cities across the country.  But the rest of us? Government might not let us leave our homes if we don’t get a vaccine passport.  For our own good.
I see a lot of people saying “Well, the squirrel was illegal!”  So?  Theft is illegal. Assault is illegal. Arson and rioting are illegal.  Crossing the border is illegal.  Our government decided not to enforce THOSE laws. But instead they come down on a family with a pet squirrel and raccoon like a ton of bricks.  The full weight of whatever fascist government agency that decided THIS was the law they’re gonna ruthlessly enforce. And this is how it always plays out: the Left’s preferred groups can get away with literal murder, and the Left will say they either don’t have the resources to enforce laws (“we can’t possibly deport tens of millions!”) Or they say not enforcing the laws with XZY groups is itself a form of “restorative justice.”
This is an untenable and unsustainable position.  Peanut and Fred are simply the tipping point.  We are fed up with a government that picks winners and losers when the law should be applied equally and fairly. And we’re sick of government ignoring crimes that actually harm people and communities, but being absolutely brutal when enforcing a law over a squirrel and raccoon that were LITERALLY HURTING NO ONE. The problem is the hypocrisy.  Government will let guys like Jordan Neely wander free to harass and terrorize women and toddlers on subways.  They’ll ruin the life of anyone who defends the innocents against those criminals. Then they’ll find some law about pet squirrels and raccoons and decide THAT is the one they’re going to follow to the letter.  People are fed up with it. THAT is what Peanut and Fred represent.  A country fed up with a government that refuses to enforce its most fundamental laws but one that will give tyrants carte blanche to invade your home over the kinds of pets you have.
As always, the Left don’t get this. Because they’re okay with this form of lawfare.  They LIKE lawfare, because right now it benefits them.  And a not insignificant portion of the Left get off on making others suffer like they did Peanut/Fred’s owners. They don’t care that a reckoning will come.  And they forget the other side gets to move and shoot, too.  If it takes a squirrel and a raccoon to remind them, so be it."
On anarcho-tyranny

Thread by @Will_Tanner_1 on Thread Reader App – Thread Reader App - "Why has the Peanut the Squirrel thing exploded on here?  Because it's the perfect anarchotyranny tale. The system that refuses to lock up murderers will send a SWAT team to kill your pet for lack of a permit. As the anarchotyranny situation is about to explode, this did too 🧵👇
The anarchotyranny is probably the best example of how America is becoming South Africa. There, employers must follow BEE (affirmative action) legislation to the letter or face government wrath, all while 95% of farm murders go unsolved and entire cities decay. Here, murderers are rarely even given a slap on the wrist if the races are "right" (black murderer, white victim), but the smallest details of tyrannical licensure, permits, and similar sorts of bureaucracy wholly foreign to America until FDR created it and Obama dramatically expanded it. So, on one side, you get attempted murder suspects and admitted murderers let off the hook because of "mental issues," but the state will seize your children to trans them under the "child protection" framework and ignore anything approaching justice or law while doing so. And New York is the best example of this anarchotyranny problem. On one hand, it has done nothing whatsoever to stop its criminal underclass from ruining NYC. In fact, no cash bail and similar problems have turned the city into Johannesburg. Meanwhile, it's also the state and city of regulatory tyranny. Whether building codes and restrictions, rent controls that are an infringement of property rights, sky-high taxes, regulations of the sort Letitia James has used to squeeze @vdare and Donald Trump, and brutal crackdowns on those who defend themselves from criminals, whether Bernie Goetz or Daniel Penny
And Peanut the Squirrel, of course, was from Pine City, NY. Not in NYC, but the state is about as tyrannical as the city. So, because of a lack of a license, which could have just been easily obtained upon notification, a SWAT team raided a family's house and confiscated a pet, then had it euthanized. All just out of spite. There was no reason for it. They claim "disease" is a problem, but if that was the case they wouldn't have invited tens of millions of unchecked illegal immigrants into the country. They just hate normal people and want to unleash the state on them. That's what the state can do when it wants. When it wants to go after even minor permitting violations, it can do so with a SWAT team armored like it was in Iraq in '07
So, the state does have the capacity to go after the crime problem. It just doesn't want to. It doesn't want to lock up the illegal immigrants that are r*ping and murdering kids, much less keep them from entering the country. It doesn't want to go after the gangbangers, the thugs, the drug dealers, or the prostitutes, all of whom have turned cities like New York and Philadelphia into Third World-style slums.  Thus, your city is a slum purely because the state wants it to be. The streets could be cleansed of homeless drug addicts and devoid of needles. You wouldn't have to give car or home break-ins a thought. Petty crime would be absent from the streets and organized crime gone completely.  All of that could be achieved. They have the resources, as shown by the crackdowns on the J6 protesters and Peanut the Squirrel. But they don't want to
Altogether, that creates a near-perfect state of anarchotyranny. On one hand, it does nothing to stop the crime that matters. The petty crime, the homelessness, the drugs, the murders and chaos, etc. On the other, it has the resources to be fully tyrannical when it so chooses. If you pray outside an abortion clinic or protest outside the Capitol, you can expect the FBI to hunt you down. If you own a pet and don't get your bureaucratic ducks in a row, you can expect the state to raid you with armored vehicles. It reads all your messages, listens to your phone calls, and tracks your online activity. That's anarcho-tyranny. And people are finally waking up to it. It's taken long enough, after a slew of many unpunished murders and cracked down upon misdemeanors, but now everyone who is even a remotely normal or valuable citizen notices that their government hates them for being normal and a contributor to society. It meanwhile loves the thugs, murderers, and so on. That situation is, even more so than the over-taxation we experience or the pointless foreign wars, the situation closest to exploding. Taxes can be paid, if grudgingly. The national debt has been ignored for this long, and so can be ignored for a bit longer. There's no draft, so the same is true of the wars. But the anarcho-tyranny? That impacts everyone. You are ruthlessly punished for even minor infractions and subjected to every sort of bureaucratic tyranny, all while the government aids millions of invaders who illegally cross the border and turns a blind eye to everything from foreign gangsters taking over apartment buildings to black women laughing about stabbing white children to death. That can't be avoided. It can't be ignored. It impacts all of us morally and emotionally, and often leads to the attack upon or death of a loved one that even red states don't punish. So, that's why people online care about a pet squirrel in New York. It's not really the squirrel that matters. It's the anarcho-tyranny, a problem that's been around for decades but exploded as an issue since Floyd overdosed on fentanyl. That is slowly turning into a critical issue in which normal people, valuable citizens, are firmly opposed to nearly all of the governments across the union. The above story of Ohio's Timmeka Eggleton murdering a 3-year-old and getting away with it, occurred in a deep red state, after all. Same with the murderers of Ethan Liming
That's a huge issue, and government officials, particularly in red states and cities, who don't get onboard with the sentiment that wants bureaucracy/administrative requirements reduced and mercilessly punished are going to face the fire. Not everywhere, of course. Sadly this isn't the America of the Sons of Liberty anymore. But it will start to happen in some places and, as always, grow as a fiery issue once some places start to crack down on crime Singapore/@nayibbukele-style or ignore their constituents and start to face massive disorder. Incredibly, it's the squirrel that's drawn attention to this, but that squirrel is just a minor symptom, not the root of the matter. Indeed other words, in executing peanut and leaving alive the worst humans in the country, our anarchotyrannic overlords have set a standard quite unfair to squirrels "
Alternatively, the left has let crime get so bad that it will take a long time and a lot of effort to get it back down, so it's easier to just terrorise ordinary citizens (which also justifies the existence of the state), especially since they won't fight back

“It’s been harrowing” – Monica Keasler speaks out after DEC records prove she did not report Peanut the Squirrel - "Monica Keasler, a Texas resident who became the most hated woman on the internet after social media users accused her of reporting Peanut The Squirrel to the Department of Environment Conservation Office (DEC), finally broke her silence in a podcast interview. Keasler cited DEC documents that proved she was innocent of the allegations spurred by social media and addressed the barrage of death threats hurled at her family... Monica Keasler’s name began to trend online after she was named as the person responsible for calling the New York State Department of Environment Conservation Office to report the famous TikTok and Instagram squirrel, named Peanut and the racoon Fred. Mark Longo, the owner of the pets, also shared a post identifying Keasler as a tipster and threatened legal action. Longo shared the post after several social media users alleged Keasler confessed to reporting Peanut the Squirrel before taking down the post and deleting the social media account. As netizens demanded proof of the said confession, a fake TikTok account purporting to be Monica Keasler emerged online. The fake account included only one post alleging Keasler reported the animals to DEC...  Monica Keasler revealed her family were fans of internet sensation Peanut the Squirrel, who they followed on social media for years before the incident. Keasler said her family had a “good cry” after they discovered online the animals were seized from Longo’s home. Keasler revealed as she kept scrolling for more information, she found a post from a “lady” in a group saying Longo "should have known better and that they had wild animals in their home illegally and they were monetizing them and that it was all wrong.” As Monica Keasler was about to reveal more, her lawyer, Bill Price, stepped in saying, “Let’s not do to them what’s been done to you,” suggesting the accusation stemmed from the “lady,” who slammed Longo for housing the pets in the social media group. Keasler said she was wrongfully named after she commented on the post of the individual"

Tala Smith ⚔️ on X - "Updated info on the wrongfully euthanized squirrel Peanut, & raccoon Fred… Some ridiculous judge DID sign a warrant. For a squirrel? On a called -in “complaint” by this photog Monica Keasler to the DEC, for unknown reasons. The woman proceeded to brag on her now deleted FB account - she’s also ditched IG & Linked In because people found out who she is. Reviewing facts, it’s a pathetic case of government waste, overreach, & misuse of resources.  These people rescued & raised Peanut as an orphaned kit. They had him for 7 years. The man created an animal rescue sanctuary as a result, and had allll the app. process done, & it was SIGNED. The only thing waiting on approval was an enclosure. This animal was not capable of wild survival. They tried that initially, but Peanut came back with injuries. Some rescued wildlife is not releasable - this is exactly why rehab sanctuaries will keep select animals after rehab capability is maxed.
A few potential reasons:  Missing limbs Birds with lack of flight Loss of vision or hearing Predators unable to hunt sufficiently  Prey unable to evade predators  Failure to thrive due to health deficits Captivity-raised lack of survival instincts Conditions requiring ongoing medication
This RAID involved making the victims sit outside their home for 5 hours while these maniacs tore up everything. They were denied the right to call legal counsel. Feds went thru closets, leaving a complete mess. They broke soap bottles in the bathroom. They took apart the man’s TOILET upon escorting him before he could use it because apparently there could be some important squirrel propaganda hidden in there (I’m assuming in the tank). 😒 Please make it make sense.  They further questioned his wife’s immigration status (Germany), in spite of her having all necessary docs & ID.   Because these psychos descended unannounced & hunted down these ordinarily docile rescues in their normally peaceful home, somebody supposedly got bitten. They used that as justification for killing them to examine brain tissue for signs of rabies.   (Let’s be clear… they were observed putting on gloves. Was anyone ACTUALLY bitten?)  What’s really going on here?  We all want to know.
If you are thinking, “It’s just a squirrel “, look at your pets. Do it right now. Why do you think you are exempt from over-reach like this, & what’s different from your dog or cat?   WHAT???
I am a feline rescuer. I’ve also rescued other animals to either be rehab-released, or homed as appropriate. I have been doing this most of my life, in fact. Birds, including a baby hummingbird once. Rabbits. Lizards. Snakes. Dogs. What’s the difference, I ask you. This is NOT about permits. He had the paperwork. Signed. It was in final process.   Why do Feds have the time & resources for one MF squirrel that’s not bothering anybody? If they need something to do, I have a few suggestions. Some legit tasks first… and a couple of impolite instructions after that.   I usually try to avoid posting things that end up in the political arena, but here we are. This is as far as I’m concerned a bipartisan concern anyway, so today I am speaking up. NONE of us should be ok with this type of abusive home invasion. Do you want to be treated like a criminal, like a drug dealer, on your own property.. when you have done nothing harmful to anyone? I’m absolutely certain that I don’t.   AS a rescuer MYSELF, this hits hard. I’ve had tragic abuses committed by other organizations that I had to then correct & be the responsible party - costing me hundreds in the aftermath, plus deciding under duress of the situation to adopt as a result. Over the lifetime of a pet, that’s thousands. I continue to do this, in spite of not having a donation for it in 4 years. So to me, it’s an important issue. We talk all the time about being responsible citizens, but when it comes to actually demonstrating it, who steps up? In my neighborhood, it’s just me. Out of pocket.   So YEAH… #JusticeForPeanut"

Democrats: "Arresting Illegals. Arresting Rapists. Arresting Murderers. Killing a squirrel"

Devon Eriksen on X - "The function of agencies is to reduce your agency.  That's the connection between killing an innocent squirrel and the unraveling of civilization itself. One may be trivial, and the other apocalyptic, but they are driven by the same impulse.  The impulse to regulate. Agencies regulate things. It means, literally, from its roots, "to make regular".  It's not regular to have a squirrel as a pet.  Make no mistake. That's what this is about.  Oh, there will be plenty of legal quibbling from the statists over who did, or didn't, or should have had, a special license to keep wildlife, which is apparently a sort of permission slip from the government that they want you to get before you do stuff.  But none of that mattered. Because the real reason, the real reason we have silly agencies, and silly laws, and silly bureaucracy, is that if governments confined themselves to doing what was needful, they wouldn't have much to do, and then people would start asking uncomfortable questions, like where exactly that full third of every paycheck is going. So you have a bunch of agencies knocking about looking for things to do. To justify their jobs, and their budgets.  And what they end up doing is ... meddling. They have a bias towards action, because inaction doesn't give them power or money. And they have a bias towards NO, because YES doesn't give them power or money.  Can I launch a rocket?  NO, it might upset a seal. Or hit a shark on the way down.  Can I paint my house purple?  NO, it might affect other people's property values.  Can I create a bank account under my authorial pseudonym?  NO, you might use it to evade taxes. Can I care for an abandoned baby squirrel?  NO, it might might have rabies.  And the reasons are always nothing more than thin coat of excuse, painted over the desire for more control.  When you have enough government agencies regulating aspects of life, you are only allowed to do what is regular.  What everyone else does.  This is insufferable, of course, and Patrick Henry would have been stacking bodies by now. So should we.  But it gets worse.  It's not just high-handed.  It's not just dystopian.  It's not just tyrannical. It's not just miserable and petty and small-minded.  It's civilization-destroying.  Why?  Because civilization and technological progress are a very specialized things, requiring a unique set of conditions.  This is why most societies, throughout history, haven't had any progress. They've just spent generation after generation whacking at the dirt with a stick to grow taro root.  Civilizational progress, that rare jewel that only a few societies have achieved, depends upon a whole bunch of factors adding up to an environment where trying new things is easy and frictionless. New things.  Novel things.  Innovative things.  Things that haven't been tried before.  Things that aren't normal.  Things that aren't regular.  Things that you can't do when everything is made regular.  Things you can't do when everything is regulated.  It's not regular to keep a pet squirrel.  It's also not regular to shine high-frequency radiation through people and take pictures with it.  Or to put up metal rods to attract lightning and see what you can do with it.  Or to treat diseases with bread mold.  Or to attach kite stuff to a bicycle and try to fly.  Every innovation that separates us from famine, poverty, disease, and squalor started out as an abnormal behavior that made other people uncomfortable.  This is why liberty leads to technology, to wealth, to civilization, to quality of life, to... everything. And this is why bureaucracy takes it all away.  And this time, in the process, it killed a small, harmless, innocent, loving animal.  No not killed.  Murdered.  Because it did so with premeditation and malice aforethought.  Peanut was happy.   Peanut had never known anything from a human being but love.  Peanut hadn't a drop of malice in his soul.   Peanut didn't understand why he was being taken from the only home he had ever known, to a place of execution, to be killed.   Peanut didn't understand what he had done wrong. Peanut died confused, alone, and terrified.   Peanut died so that a small collection of petty, spiteful, officious "human beings" could have jobs and feel important.    The harm they did, while small in the universe, was not small in Peanut's universe.   And it can never be put right.   So I say it's time for ordinary decent human beings who do not delight in the misery of others to stop being so goddamn polite and orderly.   Because it's not squirrels who need killing.   It's bureaucrats."

FAQs • Can I get rabies from a squirrel or a mouse? - "Squirrels, mice, and other small rodents have only very rarely been found to have rabies, and have never been known to transmit rabies to humans or other animals. In general, postexposure treatment is not recommended after a bite from one of these animals unless it is unusually vicious or appears obviously ill."

Eric S. Raymond on X - "I'm not sure why you think this is even slightly odd.  Talking about murdered squirrels is very smart positioning, because: if you talk about regulatory overreach and smothering safetyism in the abstract, most people just zone out.  But a murdered pet grabs people in the feelz - especially women, and most especially if there's video of the squirrel being adorable.  If you can establish that "safetyism means my fuzzy baby gets killed by men with dead eyes", hoo boy you just reversed a major political dynamic.  Excellent move by the Trump campaign."

Ian Miles Cheong on X - "Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch referenced the case of Peanut the Squirrel as a classic example of government overreach.   Speaking at a Federalist Society event yesterday, Gorsuch stated: “I’ve just seen too many cases like that. I transitioned to become a boy at 17. I believed I'd never want children or change my mind. Then I had a shattering revelation - and now I'm suing the medical professionals who encouraged me

Prisha Mosley can spend hours gazing at her six-month-old son, marvelling at how he’s beginning to reach for objects, sit up with support and make babbling sounds. The first-time mother says her favourite moments are when the baby wakes up in the early morning and they snuggle in bed.

These occasions are precious but full of regret for the 26 year old, who has been left with permanent health problems after transitioning from female to male as a troubled teen, only to decide she’d made a mistake and reverse course a few years later.

Having undergone a double mastectomy at the age of just 18, she is unable to hug her baby properly and breastfeeding, of course, is out of the question.

‘He looks for milk and it’s not there,’ she sighs. ‘My chest is numb and covered in scars and lumps so it’s not soft and pillowy, like it should be for a baby.

‘I can feel him against my neck, shoulders and stomach, but it’s like there’s a big hole where my chest should be, because there’s no sensation there.’

Prisha is one of a rising number of young people who believe they were failed by medical professionals and fast-tracked into changing gender without being made fully aware of the consequences.

It’s an issue, of course, that’s becoming increasingly fraught in the UK, with the Government announcing an indefinite ban on puberty blockers for children last week, saying they present ‘an unacceptable safety risk for children and young people under 18 years without significant additional safeguards’.

Prisha’s case is remarkably similar to that of Keira Bell, one of the most prominent former patients of the UK’s Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock Institute in north London.

After detransitioning from a boy back to being a girl, Bell described her treatment as ‘experimental at best, destructive at worst’.

Her legal challenge against the Tavistock, which ran the clinic, over whether children under 16 considering gender treatment are mature enough to give informed consent for puberty blockers, was initially won in the High Court before being defeated in the Court of Appeal.

In the first lawsuit of its kind to proceed to court in the US, Prisha is suing the medical professionals she claims pushed gender-change as the solution to her mental health problems. ‘It was sold as this wonderful thing that would take away all the distress I was feeling,’ Prisha says. ‘But it didn’t help at all. It made me feel worse and I’m left with a lot of shame, guilt and anger.’

We’re meeting via Zoom at Prisha’s home in the small college town of Big Rapids, Michigan. With her dyed red hair and fashionable spectacles, she looks just like any young mum. The body that she says is disfigured is hidden in a big, woollen sweater.

Prisha, who also has a five-year-old stepdaughter with her boyfriend, doesn’t want to reveal her son’s name because of the threats she’s received since becoming an activist against gender-affirming care for minors and launching her legal case.

‘Every day I’m told that I’ve got the blood of children who need to transition on my hands,’ she says.

‘People threaten to take away my child, report me to child protection services, say they are going to “trans” him – all kinds of awful stuff.

‘My phone number has been posted online without my consent. I’ve been threatened online by people I know, who are in my town, and I can’t go to certain places or take my children to certain places.’

This remarkably self-assured young woman says she tries to ignore the torrent of vilification because she believes other vulnerable and confused teenagers should know about the risks of making medical decisions to try to change sex.

‘I was under the misconception that it was possible to change sex, and I thought I would never want children or change my mind about living as a man,’ she says. ‘But I grew up and realised I’d made a terrible mistake.’

By her own admission, Prisha was a troubled teen, who suffered from anorexia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and suicidal thoughts during her childhood in North Carolina. At 14 she was sexually assaulted, became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage.

At 15, she thought she would be better off being a boy. She recalls: ‘I wasn’t good at being a girl. I thought I was ugly and fat and not like the girly girls you see on TV or in the movies.

‘I thought a lot of the trauma I experienced didn’t happen to boys and they were stronger and tougher and had easier lives.’ In her vulnerable state, she says she was targeted by trans activists who entered a pro-anorexia internet chatroom that she belonged to.

‘I was being told by these activists that my misery was because my body was fighting to be a boy.

‘I was a child, and I believed it. I thought: “My body’s not just horrible, it’s entirely wrong. All my problems are because I’m really a boy.”’

She started using the name Charlie online and at 16 ‘threw a bit of a fit’ about having periods to the nutritionist treating her anorexia. She said she felt she was a boy trapped in a girl’s body.

Almost immediately, she says, she was put in touch with a gender therapist who said Prisha was suffering from gender dysphoria.

She was prescribed injections that would stop her from menstruating and, at 17, Prisha started testosterone. It led to her growing body and facial hair and developing larger muscles.

Her parents did not want their daughter to have treatment but were manipulated into agreeing to it, she claims. ‘My parents never thought I was a boy or that I’d been born in the wrong body, but they did know they had a child who was unhappy and had talked about suicide.

‘They were basically asked: “Do you want a dead daughter or a living son?” So they went along with it,’ she says.

While still a child, she was also given forms to change her name, her sex on her birth certificate and her social security number and, aged 18, at her request, she had a bi-lateral mastectomy.

One of Prisha’s biggest regrets is that, looking back, everything was so rushed. ‘They call it a life-saving issue because you’re going to kill yourself.

‘That’s why you are medicalised so fast, and the treatment is so extreme,’ she says, referring to gender-affirming care.

‘I wasn’t well. I was unstable. I’d been seeing therapists for years for my mental health struggles and suddenly, because one day I changed from saying I hated myself and I was fat to saying I thought I was a boy, all my symptoms were put into a single category of gender dysphoria.’

Parents are being left out of these life-changing situations, she points out.

‘They’re painted as abusers because they don’t want their child to undergo this extreme medicalisation. I’m in contact today with parents who have taken their kids to hospital because they are cutting themselves, or the kid says they are transgender and they’ve been removed by child protection services and the parents haven’t seen them since.’

For a few years, Prisha believed she had done the right thing, and she moved into LGBTQ+ accommodation in Florida.

But doubts began to creep in and it’s sad to hear Prisha describe how it began to dawn on her that gender-affirming care was, in her case, a mistake. ‘I remember the hope I got when I thought I was going to magically transform into a boy who would never be hurt again. I thought I would pretty much become a new person . . . all that optimism.

‘I’d fully bought the lie that I was going to become this whole new person, with all my problems behind me. But my problems were still there and I was feeling worse.’

She wanted her feminine body back and secretly stopped taking testosterone. In October 2022 she went back to living as a woman, having found happiness with a ‘kind and empathetic man’.

Having thought she was infertile, she unexpectedly became pregnant. While she was grateful, carrying her son was not easy, she says.

She is one of the first wave of detransitioners to experience motherhood and faced myriad health problems, while also feeling isolated and alone. ‘It was a high-risk pregnancy and the whole time I was worrying if the baby would be healthy because of all the cross-sex hormones I’d been taking,’ Prisha says.

She suffered severe nausea: ‘My doctor said women get morning sickness because of the sudden influx of progesterone, and it was severe for me because I was already so low on all the female hormones I needed.’

Other complications ensued, including the fact that her hormonal balance, post-transition, caused the baby to be big while her uterus was small.

‘Because I didn’t finish puberty before I started taking testosterone, my hip bones were too small so there wasn’t a lot of room for the baby to grow. It was painful every time he moved.

‘I was also having problems with incontinence before becoming pregnant and had to go off the medication I was taking, so that got worse. And I couldn’t have a natural delivery – it wasn’t a choice I could make.’

Prisha’s son was born healthy by Caesarean section, but more problems arose.

‘I produced milk that was trapped in my chest with no way to reach my nipples because they had been severed, reshaped and reattached to my chest in the wrong spot so it could look like a boy’s chest. It was the worst pain I’ve ever had in my life,’ she shudders.

Thankfully, her baby is thriving, but Prisha says she still has health problems because of detransitioning, including chronic pain.

‘The muscles on my neck and shoulders are big and disproportionate, and they burn all the time, like electric shocks.

‘My female frame’s not designed to carry giant muscles at the top and nothing at the bottom,’ she says. ‘I have to take medications because my pancreas is messed up, I’m insulin-resistant and I’ve got polycystic ovary syndrome because of the years of taking testosterone.’

She also suffers from vaginal atrophy, a condition that happens when the body has low oestrogen levels and the vaginal walls become thinner, drier and more fragile, making sexual intercourse difficult.

‘It’s not just vaginal atrophy – it’s pelvic and uterine and bladder too,’ she says.

Another regret is that her voice has changed. ‘I was told by doctors that I would still be able to sing. Instead, I have pain. I can’t raise my voice or scream. My singing voice is gone, and that’s painful for me,’ she says. ‘My voice isn’t just deeper, my larynx doesn’t fit within my thickened vocal cords properly.’

She has raised money for breast reconstruction and takes oestrogen and progesterone. She has also undergone laser hair removal therapy. ‘I’ve still got hair on my chest, which I hate, but I had to stop treatment temporarily because laser therapy is so expensive,’ she says.

As an advocate for limits on gender-affirming care, Prisha’s story has been met with both sympathy and criticism in the US. She has become a voice for detransitioners while others see her as a threat to transgender rights.

She is currently an ambassador for the conservative think-tank Independent Women’s Forum and has testified at state legislatures across the US about the consequences of gender-affirming care.

In July 2023, she sued the doctors, therapists and clinics in North Carolina that convinced her to transition as a teenage girl to a boy, even after she was diagnosed with various mental health disorders.

Hers is the first case that will go before a judge and the healthcare professionals involved in the suit will face charges of civil conspiracy and fraud. They deny the charges.

‘This is the first substantive ruling we are aware of in which a court has held that a detransitioner’s case against her health care professionals is legally viable,’ Prisha’s lawyer Josh Payne said in a statement after the ruling earlier this year.

‘We are honoured to represent Prisha as she pursues justice for herself and her family and tries to prevent what happened to her from happening to others.’

Despite her many health problems, Prisha is clearly revelling in motherhood. Many women generously donated breast milk for her baby in his early days and now he is on formula and starting solids.

‘I’d like to have more children, but I’d need surgery so I don’t face the agony of what happened with trapped milk again,’ she says.

‘Transition was like putting a mask on and sometimes I think that I haven’t been able to take that mask off, that I’m locked in this cage with lasting health problems that keep me from being fully present in the world.

‘But I’m determined to speak out and alert other teenagers to the possibility of regret. I feel like I was an experiment and gender ideology has robbed me of my health in the future.’

We all know he detransitioned because of transphobia. This is literally trans genocide and endagering trans kids

Weird. We're told that sex and gender are different and only ignorant people don't know that. So why do governments keep changing the sex on trans people's birth certificates?
