PIERS MORGAN: How dare you kill off mankind, Mr Trudeau - "Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau killed off 'mankind' because he finds the word offensive... There's always a moment in every movement when someone tries so hard to be a part of it that they make a complete and utter politically correct plonker* of themselves... a clear winner has emerged in the form of Trudeau, the handsome young politician publicly drooled over by many of the same women who claim to find male objectification of female flesh so demeaning. Trudeau - who is photographed topless far too often for it to be accident - knows his fanbase and thinks he knows what they want to hear... He also saw fit to single-handedly rewrite the English language. There is no such word as 'peoplekind'. And he's wrong too about the etymology of the word 'mankind'. It dates back to a time many centuries ago when males were called 'werman' and females 'wyfman', and 'man' was a gender-neutral term meaning all human beings. So 'mankind' was originally intended to signify humanity... To understand why he's become such a fervent gender trailblazer, look no further than an incident early into his tenure, in which Trudeau stormed across the Canadian House of Commons during a heated debate and accidentally elbowed a female MP, Ruth Ellen Brosseau. He didn't even know he'd done it, which is hardly surprising when you watch the video of the incident and see an accidental, very mild contact of the kind that happens every second of every day on the subway. But that didn't stop Ms Brosseau reacting like she'd been beaten to within an inch of her life... A horrified Trudeau begged for forgiveness like a serial killer on Death Row apologizing for murdering 100 people... As a result, Canada's senators just passed legislation to make the country's National Anthem gender neutral. After a 30-year campaign by protestors, and to the consternation of many Canadians, the second line will now be changed from 'in all thy sons command' to 'in all of us command'. (Nobody seems to have worked out what this all means for the supposedly gender-neutral word 'person' given it contains 'son')."

“It’s too late for Germany”: German feminist SJW admits she got it wrong on immigration, plans to emigrate to Poland - "In 2012 Rebecca Sommer founded the refugee aid association Arbeitsgruppe Flucht + Menschen-Rechte (AG F+M) [Working Group Asylum + Human Rights]. At the end of 2015, this artist, photographer and journalist and documentary maker applauded Angela Merkel’s decision to open German’s borders to the “refugees” who had been blocked in Hungary... ”I thought their medieval view was going to change with time…but after having seen these situations occur repeatedly and observing what was happening around me, as a volunteer, I have had to recognise that the Muslim refugees have grown up with values that are totally different, they have undergone brainwashing from childhood on and are indoctrinated by Islam and absolutely do not intend to adopt our values. Worse, they regard we infidels with disdain and arrogance.” “It was a jarring perception when I noticed that these people I had helped, who were eating, drinking, dancing and laughing with me, who didn’t pray, who didn’t go to the mosque, who didn’t respect Ramadan, who made fun of religion and deeply religious people, called me ‘the stupid German whore’ when they were eating my food and were in my garden.” …Rebecca Sommer says she is not an isolated case, that many other volunteers also came ultimately to have the same perception and that there are now far fewer volunteers ready to work with the new arrivals today in Germany. She also acknowledges that, through their numbers, these Muslim immigrants pose a threat to the German way of life, and that this will get worse with family reunification. She also told the Polish weekly magazine Do Rzeczy that she personally knows Germans who are getting ready to emigrate to Poland because they had have enough... When the human rights activists wanted to denounce forced conversions to Islam in Indonesia, her account was blocked. This Berlin woman no longer dares to go out on her own on New Year’s Eve and she has already been attacked five times by men speaking Arabic!"

GoogleGate begins - "Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. This is the tactic that Google's SJWs are relying upon as they try to enlist the mainstream media on their behalf, as demonstrated by this article, The Dirty War Over Diversity Inside Google, published in Wired. But it won't work for them any better than it did for the game journos attacking GamerGate, because their narrative is a false one and the increased scrutiny will only further reveal as much... 'Typically the SJW will have a number of close allies who will immediately leap to the attack on command, and then turn around and cite those allies as evidence that the outrage is widespread and significant in an attempt to turn the “reaction” to the target's offense into a story that will garner media attention. This is particularly effective if the SJW and his allies have connections in various media organizations, which allows them to rapidly transform a minor event into something that is perceived by the public as a major one. The purpose of the media campaign is two-fold: to stamp the Narrative with an “objective” perspective that echoes the SJW's accusations and to let other potential allies know about the hate campaign in the hopes that they will add their weight to the hogpile. All of the language used to describe the target will be chosen to marginalize him and render him as unsympathetic a figure as possible. These days, it is almost de rigeur to refer to any SJW target as racist, sexist, and homophobic in addition to any specific qualities that may be relevant to the matter at hand; some adventurous SJWs are already adding “transphobic” to the standard list. In fact, this set of accusations is so common now that if you merely type “racist se” into Google, Google will offer to autocomplete the phrase as “racist, sexist, homophobic”.'"

Timing is everything - Presidents and growth - "Since the second world war the economy has done better under Democratic presidents, who have overseen more job creation and higher stockmarket returns than Republican leaders. During this time the economy has grown about 1.8 percentage points faster when a Democrat occupies the White House (see chart). Messrs Clinton and Obama credit their economic policies. But new research suggests it has more to do with luck."

This Mutant Crayfish Clones Itself, and It’s Taking Over Europe - The New York Times - "Before about 25 years ago, the species simply did not exist. A single drastic mutation in a single crayfish produced the marbled crayfish in an instant. The mutation made it possible for the creature to clone itself, and now it has spread across much of Europe and gained a toehold on other continents. In Madagascar, where it arrived about 2007, it now numbers in the millions and threatens native crayfish."

Swedish Students Forced to Write Essays on 'White Male Privilege' - Reports - "Computer engineering students at the Stockholm-based Royal Institute of Technology cannot complete their education without presenting their reflections on the benefits of being a white heterosexual man."

27% of Europeans say rape may be acceptable in some circumstances - The Washington Post
This mischievous headline is really saying that 73% of Europeans believe in affirmative consent. This is shockingly huge
Comments: "I checked the survey in the four languages I understand, and in each case it was a vague question whether drunkennes was a circumstance that made nonconsensual sex justifiable. Well, whose drunkenness?"
"Trump did not say that "it's acceptable to sexually assault women." He said "grab'em by the p*ssy, AND THEY LET YOU", which implies CONSENT... Why do you think "Fifty Shades of Grey", which is a woman's rape fantasy, is now THE BEST SELLING BOOK OF ALL TIME? We need to stop ignoring the reality of female sexuality and stop hurting and confusing both sexes in the process.
"Same study: "96% call violence against women UNACCEPTABLE"
"I checked that study: It does NOT ask about rape, and in different European languages they did not use "consent", but a formal phase for "approval"!"
"People weren't asked about "forced sex". The wording used in 24 different languages about "consent" was also very different and ambiguous. Read the study yourself. This article is misreporting and misrepresenting on purpose"

Ordering pizza? We tried three delivery chains to find the best one. - The Washington Post
Papa John's was better than Domino's, which was better than Pizza Hut. No wonder it closed down in Singapore

Why our thinking about food deserts is all wrong - "What if ill-nourished people could suddenly afford to eat better? Would they? And if not, what does that mean for the effort to improve the way people eat?... Kozlova wanted an experiment that would let her look at how small economic windfalls would show up in the shopping carts of low-income Americans... In households of up to about 200 percent of the poverty line (about $48,500 for a family of four), when more cash was available people spent more on food... But what kind of food did they buy? Here, the results were nuanced in an interesting way. The poorest group—those whose income was below 130 percent of the poverty level, which is also the cutoff for SNAP benefits—simply bought more calories. There was no change in the mix of foods and brands they bought. Above 130 percent of the poverty level, households responded to extra cash by changing the mix of what they bought. They bought a tiny bit more healthy food, shifting from processed foods to vegetables and dairy. But mostly they bought different products, some better, some worse. They bought drinks with more sugar, dairy with more sugar, but grain-based products with less sodium—a mixed bag. Households with revenue above 200 percent of the poverty line responded less to the availability of extra cash. They devoted slightly more of their food dollar to fruits, dairy, and oils, and slightly less to meat. They also opted for more sugar in their dairy and more fiber in their grain products. In other words, if you were thinking—or hoping—that low-income consumers look on healthy food as a luxury that they could buy if only they could afford it, the evidence in this study doesn’t seem to be in your favor... When people can afford better food, when it is available to them, they still have to want it. We can’t just fix supply. We have to address demand."

The Geography of Poverty and Nutrition: Food Deserts and Food Choices Across the United States - "We study the causes of “nutritional inequality”: why the wealthy tend to eat more healthfully than the poor in the U.S. Using event study designs exploiting supermarket entry and households' moves to healthier neighborhoods, we reject that neighborhood environments have meaningful effects on healthy eating. Using a structural demand model, we find that exposing low-income households to the same availability and prices experienced by high-income households reduces nutritional inequality by only 9%, while the remaining 91% is driven by differences in demand. These findings contrast with discussions of nutritional inequality that emphasize supply-side factors such as food deserts."
This is a different paper from that referenced above and is yet more evidence that poor people eat unhealthily primarily because they want to (not because they can't). In other words, victim blaming!

Just 28% Think Americans Have True Freedom of Speech Today - "Few Americans think they have true freedom of speech today and think the country is too politically correct. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 28% of American Adults think Americans have true freedom of speech today. Most (66%) think, rather, they have to be careful not to say something politically incorrect to avoid getting in trouble"

Voters Strongly Defend Washington, Jefferson, Lessons of the Past - "88% of Likely U.S. Voters oppose removing the names of Washington and Jefferson from public places and taking down statues in their honor. Just seven percent (7%) favor the removal of their names from the public square because Washington and Jefferson like several of the other early presidents were slave owners"

The Mind Meld of Bill Gates and Steven Pinker - The New York Times - "There’s a tendency in journalism and political debates to assume that it’s easy to achieve a perfect society: “Good people would do that.” The fact that we don’t means that evil people must be running the system: “Let’s throw them out and find nobler ones.” This leads to empowering charismatic despots and destroying institutions that have done a lot of good. But we have no right to expect perfection. We should appreciate how much better off we are and try to improve our institutions guided by what works and what doesn’t... One of the biggest enemies of reason is tribalism. When people subscribe to an ideology, they suck up evidence that supports their preconceptions and filter out evidence that goes against them. Contrary to the belief of most scientists that denial of climate change is an effect of scientific illiteracy, it is not at all correlated with scientific literacy. People who believe in man-made climate change don’t know any more about climate or science than those who deny it. It’s almost perfectly correlated with left-wing versus right-wing orientation... There are certain things that governments are always going to do better than private innovators. Basic research, for instance. Also, governments can do things that might be necessary to accelerate the development of innovations. And in terms of numbers, the Gates Foundation is smaller than government by a significant margin"

The Alt-Right Has a New Hero and it's Black Panther - "Black Panther is anti-globalist. Black Panther’s moral coda is steeped in a strong nationalistic conviction that constantly places the wellbeing of his people’s history, culture, and identity over any external attempts at opening up the culture and economy of Wakanda, the fictional African country in the Marvel universe. Wakanda is a hierarchal society that’s intentionally racially homogeneous, and its immigration policy is essentially isolationist. Other cultural influences are not permitted within Wakandan borders, as Black Panther believes them to be harmful to the wellbeing of his people. The Wakandan King enforces these policies through a culturally entrenched military, the Hatut Zerzae (a former secret police force turned mercenary group) & the Dora Milaje (the King’s all-female Praetorian Guard). In this sense, T’Challa expresses strikingly neo-Nazi tendencies."

Muslim Student Tries To Get Another Student Expelled For Refusing To Wear A Hijab - "A Muslim student at the University of Central Florida said that she invited fellow student Kathy Zhu to try on a hijab, reported Twitchy. After Zhu declined her offer, the Muslim student, identified by Zhu to The Daily Caller News Foundation as UCF health sciences student Rayyan Sukkarieh, took to Twitter, posting “let’s get this girl expelled.”... “The University of Central Florida has received a number of emailed complaints suggesting that disciplinary action be taken against students involved in a disagreement being played out via social media,” said Mark Schlueb, a spokesman for the school"

Antifa Disrupts LGBT Parade; Claims Gay People Are Offensive To Muslims

Qarmatians - Wikipedia - "The Qarmatians (Arabic: قرامطة‎ Qarāmita; also transliterated Carmathians, Qarmathians, Karmathians) were a syncretic religious group that combined elements of Zoroastrianism with the Ismaili Shia Islam centered in al-Hasa (Eastern Arabia), where they established a religious utopian republic in 899 AD. They are most famed for their revolt against the Abbasid Caliphate. Mecca was sacked by the sect’s leader, Abu Tahir al-Jannabi, outraging the Muslim world, particularly with their theft of the Black Stone and desecration of the Zamzam Well with corpses during the Hajj season of 930 CE"
For some reason, in one Bahrain museum they called them the Carmanthians, so I found essentially nothing on them
